Hi folks, So currently sitting on day 63 of flower and it looks like I avoided a total PM cluster f*ck. The Bubblegum and her clones were removed from the tent and harvested on day 60. Only a couple of days shy of her 9 week window. Trichome was for the most part cloudy and PM only isolated to a couple of leaves that were removed prior to hanging. I will also have to look at the N balance with the next grow. As pointed out by @The_StonedTrooper might have had a little bit too much. Now in the final week and will systemically check trichome for the harvest window. Tortoni #2 Tortoni #1 GSC Palomino + clone Twisted Helix Tent view Bubblegum8 points

Tonight was the night. Just as the plants woke up into their morning sunrise (my evening) I checked the pots, nice and light, and made the chops. The total flowering time was 8+ weeks. I took pictures in three angles of each plant after I had removed the majority of the foliage first. The angles are of the full plant, a close up of the main cola, and then the very bottom buds of each plant because I think they really stood out for me in terms of their development and size. With the benefit of seeing how they grew now I think I could really nail them on the second or third run by limiting the lower branches a bit more aggressively and see what kind of monstrous buds I could get like that, the genetics are definitely there for yield! From a purely growing point of view, T#10 in my opinion had the best and fullest development from the middle branches and main cola, not the tallest but also not the shortest... maybe I will call her Goldilocks her lower buds on the other hand were the least developed. So I would try limiting the lower branches aggressively on the next run and try for a more slender profile. Could be a good way to pack in as many plants together side by side with something like this The best in terms of terpenes at harvest is the shortest plant T#5. She has the most intense smell of gelato ice-cream, a very sweet scent with a hint of vanilla and sugar. The last two plants T#9 and T#8 are very similar. They don't have as much gas as the first two, but there's something cosmic about their lollipop looking buds that I like. I want to experiment with this a bit in future. I feel it will be one of these two that will get the chop, and at the end of the day three lovely phenos will be kept for some future endeavors not bad from a pack of 10 regulars I rate Next will be the smoke report in say... two weeks? The area has been quite dry for me here in the highveld at this time. The hermie I chopped last week dried in the drying tent for about 5 days before being popped in the jars for 4 days and I had a cheeky puff puff. I am quite satisfied as is, very clean and slow come up it only gets me more excited to try out and share the various phenos to see what the consensus is. The potency is highly present I'll be making isolate capsules with the trim T#10 T#5 T#9 T#88 points

Day 77 30 of 12/12 Did a major defoliate this week took off all the bottom stranglers that wasn't going to make decent bud any way and for some better light penetration took some photos before and just after lights on what smell are you guys getting ? I'm getting a very intense smell of sour worms (candy) quite like it7 points

Doesn't really take the moron out of the sentence.. there are a lot people born on the 20th April.. and none of those killed millions of people because it fit into their plans. Nothing Hitler did needs to be remembered, except the atrocities committed.. sorry, have absolutely no good sentiment for that piece of shit.. i stick to it.. seeking attention.. is the only reason for such a name. There is NOTHING good coming from that name.. why in heavens name use it for a weed strain??? Next we get Anthrax, Ebola or some other mass murderers for strain names, which bring and brought pain, suffering and death to this world.. Stalin and Mao Tse-tung would be still up for grabs... sorry.. not helping with names like that. Is about the last plant I would put in my Mother tent.. really, the last plant... and just because some douche bag thought is a funny name for a weed strain.. no, it isn't! Point!6 points

Long time... The severe cold we experienced in the highveld slowed things down quite considerably since the last update. They have recovered quite nicely, the plan is to let them veg for the rest of the week and flip to 12/12 on Sunday to get them to show gender. Once this has been determined, reveg and selection. If you see any promising plants please feel free to comment, selection is not a strong point. Only 4 will stay in the tent the balance is going outside to do their thing. I have an agreement with a mate to house the best of any males with the intention of harvesting pollen for possible future chucking. 24 July highs and lows This morning. µs - around 1500 PH fluctuates with every new solution, current reading is 5.85 points

We used to go fetch weed late 80's in Transkei , choice was TK or Rooibaard and the Rooibaard was the best back then , realy realy nice stuff . But who knows what's going on these days , one Rasta from Malawi comes and visit and drop one of his seeds while cleaning and wham , it's a male and it polinates a huge field , would that be Rooiawi Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk4 points

When I was growing up there was stories about cops poisoning some massive grower's field and what survived was this mutant called durban poison. Years later google told me its a pure landrace. Same with rooibaard. Was it ever other than just a name the rasta chose when the pistils were amber? Or was it a strain?4 points

No, the plants don't monster crop on this. The florigen hormone levels reach a point after day 10-14, where plants actually need to go through a reveg cycle to reduce the Flowering hormone levels. A 5 day flip and back to vegging, the plant is still in veg mode and will continue to veg as normal, however the primordial calyx or balls will develop enough for you to see clearly4 points

@Prom I agree with you 100% Unfortunately we know that some breeders like to use names of strains which have a following to help with sales and those strains have little to no lie to the original name at times. Finding a proper Durban Poison is probably near impossible, if not impossible. Anything one gets now a days would have likely been crossed with other strains along the way. Finding proper landrace strains isn't as easy anymore and I believe they can be a bitch to work with as well. As for changing the name / badge on something, once you make the change it becomes that... That is how it works... Did you not know? If you take a Polo Vivo and put a GTI badge on it, it becomes a Polo GTI.... If you take a Citi Golf and put the R badges on it, it becomes a Golf R.4 points

I think you might be onto something here... A "special collection" range to be released by a breeder, the strains named after deadly viruses, compounds or people who committed some serious crimes / offenses. It would certainly have appeal to some people. lol Imagine a strain called Ebola or Anthrax. "Hey man, pass me some of that Anthrax to put in the grinder" "I had some Ebola last night, knocked me the fuck out!" "That Stalin was really good, I need to get some more!" I agree, there are better names for weed strains.4 points

Just had a short email exchange with Jenna from Marijuanaseeds.co.za. They have Durban Poison as freebies and when I checked the description, I decided to write and ask not to send me those freebees. This is why I told them not to send me those seeds: "She was created after taking the South African landrace Durban and crossing it with our fastest flowering Skunk." Is a LAND RACE.. and as soon as you cross it.. is NOT Durban Poison anymore. Why sell it with that name? Got changed.. very confusing habit of the breeders out there.. Names are just worth NOTHING anymore these days.. when I buy Durban Poison, I expect land race seeds.. not some crossings you did. Not just Nirvana pulls that crap.. the Land Race is called Durban Poison.. not Durban or what ever you wanna make up to fit into your plans. Sam the Skunkman cleaned the genetics in California, not even in the Netherlands... is like you see a car for sale: Porsche 911 GT3.. and when you get there, is a 911 Carrera and the seller just painted GT3 behind by hand... doesn't make it a GT3.. just because you write it there. This one is for you Nirvana We need some rules for Cannabis breeding and cultivation.. things run totally out of hand. To many have just pure profit in mind and not the love for the plant anymore. I do not understand why lying and telling not true facts became so popular. I got raised by my mom and she told me very often, lying is very bad.. these days you can be happy if you get the truth. Education took a 180 degree turn somewhere.. Sorry ^^ not my day hehehe just makes me mad.4 points

I also often flip to flower for just 4 or 5 days just to speed up the reveal. Going back to veg after only being in flower for 4 days slows absolutely nothing down. Plants in fact will respond quicker to Flowering once you do flip them again later3 points

Not at all brother, I was simply surprised as I am actually quite broke, haha. But I do get what you saying, and we are extremely rich in so many ways, that carry no monetary value. Huge respect to you and Bay Seeds. I also never take offense and always ask instead of jumping to conclusions.3 points

Na, works fine too.. but again.. once it vaporizes the water, the potassium bicarb will stay behind and change the smoke result a bit. There isn't much you can use during Flower.. late flower is your main danger zone. Climate control is you best option for late flower PM protection.. cold like now, a simple electric heater would do the trick.. in summer adding heat doesn't work, dehumidifier only option. Even winter is more wet, is easier to keep the climate in range for less bugs spend. I was on 4500 Rand electricity cost in January. Then I changed my inliners and reduced to 2800 Rand Eskom fees. With the Eskom price hikes from April and June.. I am back at 4800 Rand Eskom fees a month.. and they will go on increasing.. climate control isn't cheap, i agree. But without my change of the inliners, my Eskom bill would be over 7k.. more as the rent of the flat. Look that your gear running 24/7 is as energy efficient as you can find.. saves a lot!3 points

Dont do anything different in the beginning, just slow down near the end, let the plant eat itself a little, makes a huge difference, for me.2 points

No idea, i havent mainlined in 13 years i want to run some lemon og haze, full tray, but a week longer veg and do 16 mains on each plant. See how much g per sqm i get with that method. And test some fertilizers in the same run. if i should make an estimate... 9 to 12g per main, 72 to 96g dry. I would get 16 of those size plants in a 1.2x1.2 tray... so should rather easy get the kg dry per sqm. I dropped the lemon og haze seeds today into warm water, plate em later at midnight after the 12h soak. Still prefer autos to grow.2 points

@Bay Seeds also made a good move here as to have their seed grown out by a guy who knows what he is doing, the richness that really matters (knowledge and experience in this case) and having their genetics portrayed in a good light. the last thing I meant is that you are rich financially and that's why you're getting a free seed.2 points

@The_StonedTrooper you don't get the joke? I am sure you are aware of aphorisms..... you have a lot of a certain thing and now you get more of it. a prefessional in a certain league will get sponsors thrown his way. I hoped you would see the compliment in what I said. sorry to confuse, hope I didn't offend you bro2 points

What's up growmies. I purchased a scrog a while back and never ended up using it. One of my biggest concerns was that the squares between the strings were too big for my liking. They were roughly about 25cm to 30cm big and wanted something smaller. So I went and collected a few things around the house and bought a couple things here and there. So firstly I cut 4x pieces of 1.2m pvc conduit piping (25mm). 4x corners for those pipes too. I built a big square that would fit into my 1.2m tent. Please note all measurements are rough estimates as my tent wasn't exactly 1.2m. The inner sides of the tent poles is what I used as my size which was slightly smaller than 1.2m. I drilled holes along the conduit piping and drilled them straight through. I decided to tie each string individually about 11cm apart. The reason I went with the individual string instead of one long string that gets weaved is simply because if one of my strings break, the whole rig doesn't come down. If one breaks, just that line will be broken and can then be repaired seperately. I decided to use string I bought at a hardware shop. The string is used for shade cloth, gardens etc. One packet of 30m cost R30. So was pretty cheap. I had some steel ferrels that I had left over from another project. I cut them in half with a steel saw (super cramps in the hands trying to hold with a pliers and saw. Use vice grip if you have). I only used about 18x ferrels. Made my squares about 11cm apart. I made a little knot the one side and then took it through the other side (making sure there's not too much tension) which I then used the ferrels to keep them taut (by squishing them with a side-cutter. Just not too hard that you cut through). The pvc pipe bends easily so check your previous lines as you go, not to make them too tight. Once you have finished one side of, let's say the vertical side, when stringing towards the other sides horizontally, make sure to go over and under the vertical strings. I ended up using some cable ties just to tie down my DIY scrog to the tent poles. I'll be using this scrog to keep 4 plants down. This is from inspiration purely from this forum. Some of the guys that have made their own scrogs have done some nice ones. As I mentioned, there are plenty of different kinds of material, methods and ideas that can be used to do this. This is just one of them.2 points

Out with the old and in with the new . Haven't grown ANY Cheese yet , one on the right is a Super Cheese and left my old time favourite Orange Kush Cake. It's mother's so veg will hopefully not be more than 4 weeks just to fill the scrog net that will come in a few days with the Blumat's. Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk2 points

Day 29 of flower , can't see any major difference's but then again I don't have a eye for that . They all got the same feeding as last week and then just rainwater when they needed. Basically 80% of the time they get water 2cm from the rim of the pot and 2 time's a week they get a little close to the stem. Again no growth differences with the soils . Pics are #1 , #2 and #3 , and took pics outside for 3 Min to get better pics [emoji94] Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk2 points

Yes it's so funny , bit of the topic but almost 80% of people killed in the last couple 100yrs are religious and or political , the other 20+% is disease, natural disasters , cancer , HIV and and and combined. Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk1 point

My climate is definately off.. I just have no means at the moment to set it right. "Ek kyk maar noord.." Again a learning curve.. Once I'm able to do so... Smooth sailing... So mixing the potassium bicarbonate with water and dishwashing liquid? Not recommended?1 point
