5 weeks and 1 day. WC is wet and humid, but we do what we can.

All the Tortoni's came out the drying tent last night for a trim. Got some nice full looking jars and plenty trim spinning in the 'ol Butter Machine right now for isolate capsules. Going to wait until about Wednesday before dipping in for a cheeky test smoke and an update pic the buds are oily as hell and smell ridiculously good.

Update: Week 6 of flower (mechanical failure ) I've still been checking for light leaks / timing issues on and off. Today I had some time and removed the timer to give it a proper test, and mechanical failure... My lights are supposed to be on from 21:00 for 12 hours. But it looks like there is an issue with at least the pins between 20:00 and 21:00. Which means that effectively I've had lights on for 13 hours instead during flower. I think this pretty much screws up the comparison with everyone else in the competition. So I think I'm going to pull out. (@420SA how do I make that official?) I'm obviously miffed but things break... Between my fertilizer issues at the start and this its been a bit bumpy but I'm still very happy with what I've learned, so all good. @420SAI'd like to keep posting updates, what is the best option. Closing this and linking to a new grow diary? @TotemicFYI disregard my long flowering time in your feedback. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction there. Final pics then I'll comment more when I know where I should post further updates I'm considering moving one of the two competition plants and one other to finish flowering outside. That will give me space to flower the other three I have that are ready to be flipped Those three in the bottom right are the other three from @totemic's 2021 Summer pack (Chocolate Gelato, Palomino. Cherry Gelato CBD). Look at the size of those leaves compared to my other mothers/clones in my clone tent. Insane.

Ja and I actually decided against using the DIY electronic timer I had made, becaused I wanted something more tested for the competition. LOL! (I think the sonoffs use an esp8266. My DIY one does too, so I really should have gone that way) The mechanical ones are also a total pain with loadshedding. So yeah, I'm going to move over asap. Thanks. Yes I think I must pull out, it seem the most reasonable option for me. I'll keep posting though, as it will be interesting to see how and when they finish now. It does a bit :) But at least now I know what is going on. My main goal with entering the competition was to learn more. Between the fertilizer and this its been more than worth it for me. Those dip switch timers are the absolute worst for our applications where we need higher dependability. The digital timers with the lcd are much more reliable and if you get a decent brand, it will work perfectly for years. I have been thinking about going sonoff for my timing needs... But man it's so important to have a stable light schedule for the ladies! I am sure you can continue posting here and if you really wanna pull out, then we will just stop issuing warnings for late diary entries... No biggie. I am sure Totemic would like to see how 13 h over 12 hours makes them grow and seeing how you can work with it. Good on you for finding it!! I have actually had a similar issue at my dad's place... And I have needed to reduce the timer from 12h a day, to 10 hours a day for the remainder of flower... That should trick them into hurrying up!

That sucks man. I've had so many issues with timers in the past that I simply don't use them anymore, and I'm my plants timer. Means I need to be home at certain times daily without fail.

Another week and some more bud development. I had already cleaned the lower branches a bit shortly after the previous update. Busy pumping the full flower dose of GHE nutrients now. Think the stretch has finally stopped!

Add perlite to the top, thats exactly what I did with my organics in autopots.

Perlite also floats to the top so you will be fine as mentioned above. If you do have the airstone domes at the bottom I would assume that the air will anyway go/pump upwards and no need to worrie if you want to do a cut out , maybe make the stem cut out not to small and tight and leave a 2-3 cm open around the stem Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk

I could be wrong, but Perlite is organic You can definitely do that on top, and I have done so to prevent gnats and drying out. After a few days or so, the perlite compacts and it wont go anywhere. You'll be fine with that, and it will make a huge difference

Unfortunately I've had to go to another province for two weeks and leave my plants. I've left instructions on how to water them for my girlfriend. And I really hope she doesn't mess anything up and my plants survive[emoji28]. I'm trying to get her to send me pics to that I can update my grow diary. This is plain Coco and plain Spagnum Peat Moss , added Elemental Blend at a ratio of 1L Elemental to 10L medium as per label. I have used it before like this and the grows was good. They got their last neem spray tonight.. With lights off Their last sulpher spray.. From next week, if needed. I will continue with Serenade.. Soaked them with some microbes and kelp water and took some more fans that was in the way.. Had to sacrifice two branches that was going to cause issues later on and they are sure sticky and smelly.. Hehe, ye from one extreme to the other huh! Almost, trichomes mostly milky, so to avoid any more budrot/mould, I pre-trimmed the naked looking one last night, just to make sure there are no wet pockets. To be chopped after a bit of darkness.

Alrighty then we are coming up on that time I am going to post the update pics in order of how I took them this time just out of convenience as I have three different angles for each plant. I am also going to post the other plants I am growing just for comparisons sake. There's a bunch of pics to follow so I will do my quick summary here rather than after. One of the Tortoni's, T#6 has been developing some nanners so I am going to chop her tomorrow morning after setting up my drying net. The nanners are very isolated and look very new so I do not think they would have had time to do too much damage. Time will tell if any seeds developed in her or in any other of the ladies. When I give her the chop I am going to give the back plants a closer look as I will have a bit more space to do so. T#10 has the thickest and most complete queen cola out of all the Tortonis and she has the most green and lack of purple out of all the Tortonis. T#5 may be short, but her buds are all nice and consistent in size, she's like a mini version of T#10 but with a little more purple hues. T#8 has the most developed bottom nuggets I have ever seen on any plant I have ever grown in my life, I just forgot to take a pic of them but I will next time. They look like nuggets you would find in the middle of the plant but they are the most bottom which I usually get undeveloped meh buds, but not this lady. T#9 has the deepest colour of purple out of all the Tortonis and is a bit like T#8 in shape and size but the bottom nugs don't seem as developed or as large. Otherwise still a good few clear trichomes on the Wedding Cake and one or two of the Tortonis. Trickles of amber are appearing throughout all the plants so end of month is still looking like perfect harvest timing. The Choc Gelato is the tiniest plant of the lot, super small but I am hoping she packs some tasty flavour. The Zkittles x Purple Punch has some really stellar compact trichomes, it wows me every time. Wedding Cake T#5 Choc Gelato T#10 T#6 T#9 T#8 Zkittles x Purple Punch
