Ha yeah that was from an even tighter space to manage sun exposure but that is currently the biggest plant I have grown so far. Had to go dig up a charger for an old phone to find these photos [emoji23] I've also dabbled with the Xmas tree idea before [emoji1787] but we going a bit bigger this time [emoji3]3 points

My Muse was over and helped me with the plant inspection. Had my cam out.. took some shots Post one, 7th I post the full lot and hopefully the THC tests. Plants hanging to dry. Tarryn is 250g wet, Sisa 265g. The mainlined plant seems to win. Going with Sisa as final plant. Looks the neatest, harvests more, bigger buds,... wasn't hard to decide.3 points

i know, cutting is fun.. but.. only cut what needs cutting. Would have left those on.. Fan leaves don't need light to be productive, they do also the main gas exchange. Remove what the plant gives up or when it grows to 'bushy'. Less hassle with pests and the plant has better air flow. Topping at the right time will make your plants focus on the sides. Topping is a way to increase harvest, so is FIM or Mainline (three HST methods). If you see this run as a "gain experience" run.. try all three on one of the three DS plants. Three quick internet searches and read up's. But nice to know your options. When ever you snip, look to sterilize your cutting gear before you do so. In 99% has no effect, and sometimes the plant just dies after a simple snip as some bacteria's of the wrong kind got in. I get a box of medical swipes at the pharmacy. Lasts for a very long time.. Happy plants, very sexy job so far!2 points

It's been an exciting week! First time Topping, first time doing some LST and first time defoliating (1 leaf off each plant, but still! ). I'm happy with how it's going, these plants have become a lot more "hands-on" which has made it quite interesting, learning curve has gone up a notch. Still just feeding 1ml/lt of Bio-Grow. Trying to find amino booster in my area to add to it. Thanks as always for looking, advice and tips always welcome2 points

So far, so good. It seems as if the succes rate is better than expected. I see all 5 x Pineapple Chunks is alive. Both Chocolate Gelato's alao came up which means their journey will start on a separate thread soon.. There is life with Bruce Banners ans I am super surprised about the Blue Kush Berry that is alive. I bred them myself a long time ago. Grew some out once and they were quite a yield.2 points

Finally took some time to look at the girls. Eina. Cleaned up the dead bleached peroxide surfer wannabe leaves. They are not looking dead and seems thanks to my kak spraying seems like the buds are still mostly healthy. Foxtailing continues on the runt, but #1 seems to have been shocked into standstill, no surprises #1 #3 the runt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I think what it comes down to is, people / the community want to be able to do it on the cheap and not have it limited to those who have millions to risk and lose. Something more achievable for the average grower out there who does not have deep pockets.2 points

Some close ups #1 #2 #3 Tried using a phonescope to get really up close and personal with the trichomes but I just can't get it to focus for a decent photo. What does it take to be able to take nice trichome photos? I have an android phone at the moment, do iPhones (sies) have magic zoom powers or is this just not a job for a phone and a proper camera and lens is the answer? I'm far more likely to spend money on ph and other monitoring equipment rather than stuff for pics at this point but just curious.2 points

so, the winelands area can get hot as balls, we've been contemplating a pool for a while now. sadly, the only space we have is where my mother of a San Pedro was standing... so we had to move her.... I think you all know where this is going from here, guess the topic gives it away a bit too tips will be saved for further propagating. my lovely lady lending a helping hand there with the messy bits, I got outa bed and immediately got busy slicing up some medicine, she came waddling after probably 20min later, still in her very sexy satin nighty and coffee in her hand. didn't even hesitate to sit down and get her hands dirty with the messy bits! what a team player, right? once we got going I didn't wana take pics every few minutes or everything would be dirty and sticky as f.ck, so here is the last photo for the day we did 4 doses on the day, left them to dry, here they are. all that is left now is to powder them, cook it and then the ceremony I guess.... ALSO, anyone interested in San Pedro? I am giving away for free1 point

Howzit. From my experience, by topping once at the main stem then another top on the first node from both off shoots, the result is a sturdy, bushy plant with 4 fat, main colas and some medium/large secondary colas. Anything more will enhance budsites but reduce bud size. This is from my experience though so feel free to experiment yourself1 point

@GGG, thanks for the input. I think so aswell. I will take some of it and work it into my soil mix alongside Rock Phosphate...1 point

I would def top them or scrog them , usually the lower budsites turn out to be popcorn buds. I top and scrog together it ups my yield . Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk1 point

@Prom , thank you for the guidance as usual . Always great to hear from you. The 3 leaves that were cut were covering spots I believed needed light. Very interesting to hear of the possibility of killing them from unsterile instrumentation. I think I'm in the clear from using my kitchen scissors but I don't think I'll be doing that again . I have 1 topped, 1 FIM and 1 I have only done the lst on. Definitely going to be interesting to see the difference. The FIM was an accident ironically. I planned to top the last one soon, but I think I'll take your advice and leave it to compare, or maybe figure out "Mainlining" as mentioned1 point

Thanks man The level of care given to these ladies were definitely impacted by starting this diary - Thanks for the motivation@PsyCLown I've seen some of your in house beauties (wpw) on the forum, so appreciate the advice. Will revisit your grow diaries for sure, double check which methods you've used1 point

I'll go through posts and see if anyone else is still running a dwc. I did remember seeing 2 or 3 people but not sure if they were running hortimix Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk1 point

I did notice this, but she's had WPM and I gave her a decently strong H202 with a wetting agent spray and a strong Defoliation. She's been slow to put on foliage in comparison to previous Defoliation's aswell. I've put it down to just a slower recovery and her being over stressed from the treatment for now. But my hortimix is also a year old cos I just get a couple packs at a time. So I think for the next res change I'm gonna get a new batch and see. My ph was the same this time around, but I haven't been monitoring closely until these last 2 weeks, ill be watching that aswell. Thanks for letting me know about your experiences with Hortimix. It's definitely something I now need to watch out for Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk1 point

hope all is well, Serenade is available to farmers not to public, I am connected to a company that distributes bulk. Smallest quantity I can hook up is 10L of Bayer Serenade ASO for R1750, it comes from a depot in Tzaneen so will take a couple days to get here. If a bunch of us jump in we can split costs and product. I would also recommend not getting too much of it as it contains live organisms. Cold storage will help it keep a little longer, but for nothing more than a couple years. I would say 3 years of improper storage it will start to depreciate in viability. https://www.cropscience.bayer.africa/content/dam/bayer-crop-science/south-africa/bcs/product-labels/english/serenade_aso_label_eng.pdf https://www.cropscience.bayer.africa/content/dam/bayer-crop-science/south-africa/bcs/product-msds/serenade_aso_msds.pdf On the flip side, AQSF is the product we use in SA that has the same implications and target the same species of parasites. It covers a broader spectrum of indiginous organisms it will counter act, where as serenade covers more species indiginous to other parts of the world. This is why we have the one product here and the serenade is elsewhere. INTERESTING TIP and a good rule of thumb is to not consistantly use the same products in your IPM regime, even if you have NO bugs or pests it's always good to alternate between tried and tested products to cast an even borader net of protection and avoid the pests and diseases building up an immunity and becoming accustomed to the products you're using. so I would also recommend buying some Serenade. and probably taking 1L myself if we do grab the 10L so to fill the order we will need another R1575 for 9L1 point

Is it me or is she loosing her greenness? [emoji848] I used Hortimix and noticed this loss even when the ec is on Point. Is your Ph always been around 5.8? My remedy was to buy new hortimix because mine was from last years grow lol [emoji23] Edit: Post #126 Shows her at top health and you were running 0.9ec? Might be too strong. Is anyone else running a Tortoni in dwc? Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk1 point

Unfortunately not. My outside space is full on astro turf and while there are a few garden beds the best spot for max sun ray collection is in the middle away from walls. So I typically give my outdoor ladies a seat or even a table to sit on out in the open away from shade - found a pic from my last outdoor run as an example.1 point

17 out of the 22 seeds cracked and shot taproot. 3 x Bruce Banner 1 x GSC and 1 x BKB is still in the paper towel room. I will add 2 more Bruce Banner seeds to germinate if i dont see anything by Sunday. I finished digging the 40L holes for each plant. Still need to get stakes to brace them for that heavy winds1 point

I want to test making choco puff edibles, but it seems so damn easy. I never tried making it before and seeing that I was blessed with a good harvest I really want to try it out. The misses dont like smoking but edibles she will do. So my question is: Do i decard my weed Make cannanbutter Add it to the recipe Do the rest of making choco puffs Eat and watch the misses drift into our world???1 point
-
@Smelly Joe It really is that simple, decarb, make butter and do some baking (pun intended).1 point
-
Decarbing is essential for the activation of the cannabinoids when making edibles. Cannabutter is easy/peasy. Lots of recipes on Google. Good luck with the Cheesy Poofs1 point

They're growing nicely! I feel training is certainly needed on a lot of the in house strains as they get very stretchy. Yield will be affected negatively I feel without proper training to try keep the canopy flatish. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

@donnob I have not really looked to see whether there is any difference in temps between the Budbox and Mammoth tent. The Budbox comes with metal corners and the polesall clip and lock into place - very nice and easy to setup and the poles are powder coated black and are thicker than what the Mammoth and Secret Jardin came with. I have seen the Pinelab tents for sale, but recall them being really expensive. Would be curious as to how they compare to a Budbox for instance. Never seen one in person. The things which frustrate me on my Budbox are mainly the pull ties, it is not as easy to pull them as the one material seems to be a grippy material. Not the end of the world as it is not something I adjust often. Then the zip to open the right side completely can be a bit frustrating to work with - I see there is a metal zip version and a plastic zip version. The plastic zip version is easier to work with compared to the metal zip version. When I say frustrating to work with, to unzip is easy and to zip up is easy, it is aligning both sides of the tent to be able to start zipping it up. For some reason the plastic zip is just easier to get aligned.1 point

I have a Mars hydro and Mammoth tent. happy with both. No issues. Pine Lab tents are top of the range if you are looking to invest. Zephyr Farms sells them.1 point
