Just a quick update for the weekend, nothing too exciting to mention this time around . Ladies are looking happy, got my environment sorted with the change in pots and the added filter. Glad to say that's all working. I also added a passive intake to the tent, simply cut my ducting in half and stuck that in one of the holes with a stocking on the end of it. Seems to be helping quite a bit. I feel bad for having these plants still referred to as numbers, I think it's time they get names... Throw some suggestions in the comments for me DSC#1 DCS#2 DSC#3 Still got the 3 little ones in here. Garden prep happening Monday, think they will be moving outside in the following week3 points

So I got my hands on some Cat Piss seeds from Lollipop Seeds in Finland if I'm correct. Well reading up on this strain, is major confusing as one review make it a sativa strong hybrid and some indica strong.. Highly popular in the early 90s with 3 types or phenos talked about.. Great uplifting long lasting vibe once you endured the apparent foul odour and some say taste, where others say nice tasting puff.. With so manny chancers out there one would only know when sampling for yourself and that is what I am planning to do. I handed the beans to a friend of mine and he managed to get 3 going and all three were female. Cuts are currently being made and I took one of the girls back and will now put her outside. She'll start to flower and I should be able to guage her authenticity before she reveges and I take clones or throw her in the compost heap.. She's a early July baby and had to endure harsh cold and inadequate light. According to some reviews the strain like moderate to cold conditions so having her outside now should not stress her to much I hope.. So here goes.. Lets see if this long lasting, uplifting daytime smoke strain lives up to her followings reviews.. Apparently not for the faint hearted.. Please, if anyone has any experience with growing the strain coment on traits and your opinion. Thnx.2 points

So this is my "final post" for the competition... 120 days since seeds got wet, I present to you 3x Totemic Tortoni grown in Orgasoilux under LEDs, nourished very lightly with biobizz grow but more activera almost throughout and bloom in flower. Also, Biodyne liquid gold microbes, molasses and worm tea. Buddi All-Rounder spray to avoid undesirables. Let's start this post like so many others in this grow log - a GIF, 5 - 10 September: So on Friday, 10 September - after 70 days of 12/12 and trichomes are milky and around 10-20% amber, #2 is perhaps closer to 5-10% amber. Here are the 3 plants in their final form before the cut: #2: This one is a stinky girl. Reminds me of the aroma that welcomes you as you enter a Durban-beachfront-public-bathroom on a hot day in summer. #3: This one has a sweetish smell and was a close contender to be the chosen one, but not quite. #1: This one smells sweet like #3 but this one the smell is quite a bit stronger and this plant has the biggest cola of the 3 plants (big in the context of my grow, perhaps not the comp lol). I present to you the chosen #1: Want a GIF of the journey? I got you [emoji869] My first time documenting a grow. My first grow competition. My 2nd indoor grow. What a thoroughly enjoyable experience which I feel has taught me a lot. Thank you @420SA, sponsors and judges for a great competition. Thank you @Totemic for the quality genetics, I hope you have enjoyed the show. I look forward to growing many more of your seeds in future. Thank you @Pants again, for roping me into the forum and competition. Documenting a grow like this has been a fun experience for me - I tried to make it an enjoyable or at least entertaining read. For those that followed the journey, offered support and guidance - thank you. For now, drying is underway until stems start to crack rather than bend. Then trim and into terploc bags for +3 weeks but I suspect some sneaky tasters may happen on Heritage/Braai day weekend which seems like an appropriate occasion. When I entered this competition I had a goal of producing bud I can be proud of... while I'm not quite at the finished product yet to confirm that - I think I'm going to need to set new goals. If somebody wants to read up on Brix levels.. this one isn't to long https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-how-sugar-plays-a-major-role-in-growing-cannabis-n1011 Tested my Cream Caramel in Veg, a bit unhappy, 9.5%. Tick to low, need to sort that. Will do my flower tent tomorrow morning, was/is dark. The toy is 1380.-2 points

Update: T3 is ready to go. Milky and orange trichomes all around. Leaves fading proper purple now. Eventhough she was grown in organic soil, she was fed GHE nutrients so need to flush out some of those salts. I've flushed with just plain tap water PH 6.5. I'll be putting her in 48hrs of darkness this evening, ready to harvest on Tuesday morning first thing. Time for some pictures.2 points

I think what it comes down to is, people / the community want to be able to do it on the cheap and not have it limited to those who have millions to risk and lose. Something more achievable for the average grower out there who does not have deep pockets.2 points

It's time for a new journey & a new diary, & let me be completely honest I was going to do this diary once I had reached harvest with pics and video and skip the all boring veg phase, but I soon found myself with a lot more work and a lot more content than Id like so I thought let me start this diary and update it on a monthly bases. OK so what are we doing this time? SETUP: We doing 15L & 20L autopots A side by side of organic and synthetic Organics are setup using 12mm lead piping and valve 5s Syntheic is setup using 6mm lead pipe with standard valves MEDIUM: For synthetics we going with perlite & coco (washed and buffered a week before potting) For organics going with coco & perlite ammended with malted barley, kelp meal, guano, frass, dolomite, biochar, aloe, alfalfa & Bokashi STRAINS: The strains will be Super Silver, K-2, Zkittlez & original glue by @Marijuana Seeds SA & Nirvana LIGHTS: This time we pulling out the Mars Hydro SP 3000 from the start with the help from the Leon 200, that's more than enough power in the hood for this grow I started off germination with some water in a cup and after 2 days potted in coco on a heat mat for 2 weeks in the dome with very light feed every 4 days 5 days later... All but 2 didn't sprout. Well.. One was very late to the party the other one never showed face so I decide to pop anther zkittlez seed At the end of 2 weeks they were ready to be trasplanted into their final pots Right side synthetics. Left side organics. At this point I had to top feed for at least 2 weeks before the roots were established in the Autopot system After 2 weeks of top feeding its was finally time to turn on the systems Some nice socks for the ladies.. Looks more like a water tube.. (well they are going for a swim after all) Zkittlez & Original Glue first week of veg1 point

That's a cool looking tool! At first glance I thought you may have a prototype light saber in your possession. Realizing it's basically a Glucometer for your plant didn't make it any less cool though...1 point

People investing big... dont risk a empty fridge. They usually have a lot more. So when they invest big before a law is released... that is just pure greed. They knew it can go sour... so dont complain when it does. Right now we are depending on the good will of the cops. You dont piss em off, they let you be, otherwise, they can act after the present law. Private use is not even implemented yet... they need 2 more years for that, even it should be done and dusted. I hope... really really hope, that it wont be a mission to get a licence for a coffee shop, grow and sell. But for now, i just wait. My Visa renewal took usually 4 to 6 weeks. Handed it in Feb, havent heard a thing yet burocracy is veeery slow at the moment. And hemp legelization wont be the top priority. Lets hope not ending in 25 licences for the highest bidder... or crap like that1 point

You select your final plant and make pictures for the judges to decide. They will consider the full diary too. Just make your selected plant look good and take enough pictures. Never saw that you have to show dry weight.1 point

Getting really close now , she is starting to fade fast and getting loads of trichomes , very happy with the frost of this strain I have 2 completely different phenotypes and can't decide which one to pick 2 of them is leaning to a typical Sativa grow stile (long, skinny) and one is very close to an indica (fat busy and loads of leaves)1 point

Thks I saw that a few days ago.. it's just a spider funneling the leaf to hide in. Predators are always welcome I leave it to nature to keep things tidy.1 point

Everyday at lights on: Okay so I gave final final watering today and that should be it until harvest. It has been a bit warmer the last few days and will quite likely stay that way this week and with anticipated harvest day being Friday, we are 3 days away so that should be a good sweet spot between giving the plant some moisture to swell up with in the remaining time and also limiting the moisture carried into the drying stage. #1 and #3 got less as I expect those plants to be harvested before #2 which may go a few days longer. #1 - 0.75L #2 - 1.5L #3 - 0.75L Light has been running at +-50-60%% since end of week 9 of flower. Viva la electricity units, viva! #1 is looking like the one that will be put forward as the chosen one.1 point

So a friend from a marine group is gifting (trading for a few corals) me an old chiller (perfect working order, albeit in a dire need of a clean and maybe a re-gas).1 point

Starting to see a purple fade on another plant now. Time to whip out the microscope again. These girls are close. I'll post again later with some measurements too.1 point

The girls are looking good. The Super Frass will from now on be part of all my soil mixes. Grape Gorilla.. Double Sunset.. Chocolate Gelato..1 point

The girls are doing well.. The terpene profile on the Grape Gorilla has me hooked.. Something quite special.. Actually dissapointed that I gifted the two cuts I made off her.... Grape Gorilla.. Chockolate Gelato.. 2x Double Sunset..1 point
-
The two evicted males turned out to be fine specimens.. They are days away from dropping their load. I will collect some pollin for some inhouse micro breeding for myself and then compost them. They look exactly the same but the DQxS turned purple and the DQ stayed green.. The Grape Gorilla Main Cola is still going strong.. As the RH dropped with the add of the heater fan I noticed it taking strain.. So I really hope it makes it..1 point
-
The 4 girls are doing well. The two Double Sunset girls took long to start though The Grape Gorilla turned into a lanky bitch and her snapped off cola is still surviving.. Chocolate Gelato.. Ds 1 & 2 Grape Gorilla..1 point
-
So I tried to LST the Grape Gorilla.. She was streching way to much.. The darn main cola snapped right off.. Dumb of me not to use the knuckling method.. Done this a few times but now I'm not to sure as the stem is thick.. Stick it in the bottom of the pot and let's see what happens.. I should of topped her when I flipped but dit not expect the sudden and explosive stretch....1 point

Evening Growmies. The Grape Gorilla is now in flower allong with ine of the Double Sunsets.. The other two is only starting tonshow signs of pre flower..1 point
-
So the two males are evicted.. Very nice looking plants.. They outside till I can collect a small ammount of pollen and off to the composter they go.. The other girls are now starting to enter pre flower it seems..1 point

Happy Sunday gays and gals.. So the DQ & DQxS is both male.. It's dissapointing but I hope the plants gifted @HappyGrower will have some fems ammong them.. This opens up the tent a bit more and give the comp girls and the fems from Totemic a bit more breathing room. The Grape Gorilla is a awesome plant.. The Chockolate Gelato Fem.. Double Sunset Fems.. So far the Freedom Farms PC and Super Frass mix is doing good for me.. They only get microbes and seaweed mix once a week.. Seaweed foliar feed and microbe foliar twice a week.. and that's basically all they'll get to the end to see how much the Super Frass can do..1 point
-
I might have to evict some more of the new girls.. They starting to crowd the Tortonis... It is evident that having the correct light in the seedling and vege stage would make a major impact later on..1 point
-
The fem girls got their final home.. Not sure if they'll be completely happy.. Let's find out.. They are Day 33 from Seed and day 4 of 12/12.. The DQ and DQxS not yet..1 point
-
The little ones are fat.. The Fems will be potted up today.. The DQxS is a stretcher.. Just hope it's not male..1 point

Well the Vege tent will now be off limits for a while as I am assisting in some other endeavour.. I selected 6 girls to share the flower tent with the Tortonis.. These little ones will outgrow my space if I do not flip them now.. They will be potted up at the end of week one in 12/12.. Lucky weedlings are.. Well its been a minute... Still have these strains around and just about to finish up the next flowering run. The Choc Kush have been good to me for the last few runs and a very decent yielder. I have a very big liking for the DSS and KB7 and they will be around for a few more runs. I have not been able to take pictures as usual but will upload some that is available. I will also try to be a bit more proactive on my grow dairies. I have been doing my own soil but it seems to be a bit light when it comes to flowering but I have been giving it some attention and hopefully the next few runs will be better with fading starting later on. I have added some new strains to the list and looking for those keepers but mainly looking for the local fire!1 point

Evening growmies.. So I potted them up today.. Some good root development and two were almost root bound.. Hoping to take some cuts as soon as they show sex and then into the flower tent they'll go.. As soon as the cuts are rooted they'll be up for grabs..1 point
