Getting very close to harvest , ? I have made the decision to go with the more Indica looking strain,she has lekker size and bud appeal

im looking at some of the other guys plants and some also recon another week or so... i have the space currently so they can blom as they need to haha

Hi my lady not yet ready to be harvest but getting fleshy now Not sure how long to harvest, suppose another two weeks, well she is looking healthy, and believe she will provide good fruit, all that matters now

Day 121 and day 37 12/12. Pics are in sets of 3 today plant #1 - #3. Watering twice a week now and adding molasses every 3rd or 4th watering. Nice sweet aromas starting to fill the garage.

Watsup guys. So this is just a quick short one on how we made some dab with trim sponsored by @John Stonedwell. As you noticed, he had a killer run recently and we decided to keep alot of the Twisted Helix trim as it was suuuuuuper frosty. Cured it just as we would the buds, and had a blast with it. Now I unfortunately do not have a press and I know I could have probably saved the money blah blah blah. But in this BHO extracting adventure I decided to use a butane extraction tube. Buuuuuuuut.......it is pressurized, so we don't use too much gas. I think this was my first succesful blast. Anyway. We did two short runs and the total product was 2.65g of puuuuure extract. We also were greedy bastards and went straight to a 20 micron mesh screen, for that cleeeean final product. I do have homemade vacuum chambers but will show those on the DIY section some time. We used an extraction tube, a couple grams of trim (we did not weigh it, I know, dumb of us), a silicon mat and some newport butane gas. I think the newport one is the recommended one as it has less kak (impurities) and is used for "medical extraction" as stated on the bottle. We also just used some beautiful outdoor sunshine to evaporate the butane. The vacuum chambers work faster but we were in no rush. We did nothing fancy in the extraction. We stacked the tube, kept the bottom valve open while we filled it with a little butane. Before anything could drip out the bottom we closed the bottom valve and pressed a brand new bottle from the top trying to get a decent pressure up in there. Once we couldn't hear it going into the pipe anymore we closed it off. Leaving it for a minute or two. We then slowly sprayed it out onto the silicon mat. As you can see we just used something to keep the silicon mat down as the cold butane pulls it up, pouring all the precious goodies out. We learnt very quickly. All in all it was a fun experience and we ended up with some decent product. Something I will continue doing and enjoying. The goal is to eventually after every successful harvest extract from the trim and build a collection of dab over the next few runs. Thanks for watching PS. We know that there are serious dangers to butane, hence we did it outside. There was no braaing going on or smoking. I would shout off every now and then no lighting of smokes. Safety first kids.

Got a few updates for project tree: So I'm planning on taking these 2 outside by end of the month. I took then outside for some sun the other day but the wind is quite savage compared to the oscillating fan in the tent they survived the beating but I will look to supplement silica to strengthen stems soon (gonna need strong stems to hold up all the tinsel and decor anyway). Since plants in flowering tent have been harvested, veg plants moved in there to benefit from the stronger light. Took the opportunity to pot-up the 2 plants for project tree to 30L pots. Before pot-up: Pot-up to 30L Orgasoilux and mycaroot fungi I dropped some red clover, dill and coriander seeds in some worm castings around the plants for cover crops for the next 5-6 weeks before I expect to pot-up again. I'll try and transfer as much cover crop as possible when I transplant but I will just plant more seeds if I rough them up too much. The plant that is top centre in the pic above will go to 200L and I'm not going to top at all - want the Xmas tree shape. The plant in top left will go to 80L and I'm going to top a bit once I'm confident that the plant in the bigger pot has settled well after transplant, otherwise this will be plan B for the Xmas tree. Gave all the plants a spray of buddi all rounder. So far I have been giving them liquid gold microbes, activera and based on the recommendation of @Prom - Canna Pro Amino Boost, the most recent addition to my toolkit. Howzit oaks. Just a short one again of a few little vacuum chambers I have made. There are bigger vacuums that you can make using perspex and pots but that I have not done yet. One day maybe. So this guide would just be for a little chamber and a hand pump. An extreme budget job. For the noob like myself. So a list of things: Jar and lid (preferrably small as possible (200ml)). WondaFix (pratley). 1/4 inch ball valve. Some 1/4 inch fittings and nozzles. Plumbing tape. Hand brake bleeder pump (tube included) So I also have one that uses an 1/8 inch valve which is awesome but fittings are quite tough to get hold of so just for the ease of it, we will refer to 1/4 inch in this quick guide. I managed to find all my fittings at a shop called Adendorff. What a shop. Lots of cheap tools and crap. I asked them if they do vacuum pumps and sounds like they have a huge request and might bring something in. Quite simple. Drill a hole into the lids of the jars. I used a 6mm drill bit. The 1/4 inch fitting fits nicely into it. I actually just screwed it into the hole using the thread on the fittings. Depending on your valve being a male to male or female to female, you will have to figure out the best fittings/adaptors for the job. I used female valves so I basically only needed a 1/4inch male to male adaptor and a 1/4inch male nozzle. Once screwed in I used the wondafix to seal it nicely. I used the steel pratley but doesn't work because the lid of the chamber flexes a little when you suck all the air out. Let the glue settle overnight and then make sure everything is screwed in tightly. You will notice in both photos that I am using different jars and lids but they are still small enough. The reason for the small jars is because you have to remove the air using a hand pump. It takes suuuuuuuuper long if you use a 1lt consol jar and pump it with a hand pump. Smaller jars are much easier. I am on the look out for second hand fridge compressors because the old school ones have an inlet and outlet. As far as I know you can get a really nice vacuum going with one of those. With the hand pump and small jar I can get about 24"hg. With a compressor pump/vacuum pump you can get very very close to a perfect vacuum (29.92"hg). Last two photos is from vacuum to no vacuum. When warming the extract with a mat or warm bath it helps get all the bubbles of gas out easier. The extract can also be directly blasted into the glass jar, then purged from the jar too, and utilized from the jar for consumption. Total estimated costs: M/M adaptor 1/4inch (R20) F/F ball valve 1/4inch (R40) M nozzle 1/4inch (20) Brake bleeder pump kit (R250) Small jar and lid (R25) Plumbing tape (R20) Pratley WondaFix (R80) TOTAL: R455 Hope this manages to help someone else that is also using chemical extraction methods and wants cleaner dabs. So I cut down some more plants this weekend, they're now hanging and drying so let's see how these turn out - a lot more In House Genetics in this cut at least Tent is pretty empty now, not much left in there

So I took some nice pics last night Gave her a good feed of plain RO water 2 days prior to that and flushed a little. All 3 have popped out more now. Plant # 1 I think will be my choice, but I think I have a week or so left (will check trichs again tonight). Plant #2 is frosty, but colouring not as nice. Plant #3 is growing some bigger buds, but not as nice looking as #1. Plant #1 - Best looking so far I reckon. Beautiful bud colouring, pistils are darkening nicely, and leaves (although not seen in the pics so much) have nice colour to them too

So had a homegrown Sunday afternoon. Tasted a bit of the #1 post dry before cure, very nice smoke and a lekker up high from the early chop. Got inspired and whipped up a stir fry with my cabbage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So this is my "final post" for the competition... 120 days since seeds got wet, I present to you 3x Totemic Tortoni grown in Orgasoilux under LEDs, nourished very lightly with biobizz grow but more activera almost throughout and bloom in flower. Also, Biodyne liquid gold microbes, molasses and worm tea. Buddi All-Rounder spray to avoid undesirables. Let's start this post like so many others in this grow log - a GIF, 5 - 10 September: So on Friday, 10 September - after 70 days of 12/12 and trichomes are milky and around 10-20% amber, #2 is perhaps closer to 5-10% amber. Here are the 3 plants in their final form before the cut: #2: This one is a stinky girl. Reminds me of the aroma that welcomes you as you enter a Durban-beachfront-public-bathroom on a hot day in summer. #3: This one has a sweetish smell and was a close contender to be the chosen one, but not quite. #1: This one smells sweet like #3 but this one the smell is quite a bit stronger and this plant has the biggest cola of the 3 plants (big in the context of my grow, perhaps not the comp lol). Then trim and into terploc bags for +3 weeks but I suspect some sneaky tasters may happen on Heritage/Braai day weekend which seems like an appropriate occasion. When I entered this competition I had a goal of producing bud I can be proud of... while I'm not quite at the finished product yet to confirm that - I think I'm going to need to set new goals. Update: T3 is ready to go. Milky and orange trichomes all around. Leaves fading proper purple now. Eventhough she was grown in organic soil, she was fed GHE nutrients so need to flush out some of those salts. I've flushed with just plain tap water PH 6.5. I'll be putting her in 48hrs of darkness this evening, ready to harvest on Tuesday morning first thing. Time for some pictures.

Week 3 & 4 Nothing really happing, ladies doing their thing of growing

Week 16 Update / Flower Week 10 I've changed my mind on who to bring forward. The tall, strong and beautiful T2 has grown on me. He flowers are so colorful and resinous, she has really astounded me. Also realised I don't have a clone of her for some reason so I monstercropped one of the budlets on the the lower growth, really hope I can get something rooted of this baby I'm hoping to give these girls the axe the weekend, trichomes will tell closer to the time though. They could easily go a lot longer but I don't enjoy the effect of a belated harvest even though that's when they pack on the pounds. With bringing T2 to the sacrificial judgment altar I went ahead and started trimming the fans off T1 and T3 getting them harvest ready and letting them buds soak up as many rays as they can until D-Day.. just put a coffee filter on the bottom of your cylinder.. you can skip to mess up your screen. And use a non stick plate to collect, you get everything out without a mess.

So a bit of an update, took these photos on Saturday but didn't get a chance to post them until now - been busy trimming some plants which came down. Twisted Helix: Bananium: Frosted Apricots: Sugarcane: Really excited to take these plants down! Some new ones which I have yet to try myself as well.

Define dominant... When I choose males the following traits drive my decision making Structure, branch strength, vigor, leaf to flower ratio, trichome dense, smelly males, flower density, pollen production, resistance to pests and PM... All of which can be considered dominant.

The Lemon OG Haze No1 died after the second training snips, no clue why, roots and all looked rather developed Rest is fine and most are on 8 mains so far, rest follows tomorrow. Thursday the first should go 16, then I start sorting and pot up to a 10L pot and install a screen for each. Not going 22L this time, check the outcome in pots I use for Autos usually. Cones from Plant 5 and 6 already rooted very strong... i always have some nice and fast rooters.. and the rest just needs those 2 weeks. No idea why.. and I seem not to be able to figure out what i do right and wrong. Perhaps genetic.. will check that on a second batch of clones I take from the clones. If 5 and 6 root again super fast, that could solve my puzzle.

Very nice, how did you use the 20 micron screen? Also as far as I am aware, the extract is only referred to as rosin if it is pressed in a rosin press and no solvents should have been used either. BHO is what you used as it was a butane extract. Did you put the dab / BHO into the vac chamber afterwards as well? I have noticed that using sun and/or a bit of heat on a stove does not remove all of the butane and using a vac chamber afterwards would still be beneficial and help purge a bit more of the butane Looks great though and being able to keep the butane in the tube and allowing it to sit for a bit would certainly help increase the yield Have you sampled any yet?

Getting the sap out of the leaves is the biggest mission. Rest rather simple. JetFuel is at 11.5%, Slurricane 10.5%. Have to raise that. My Gelato is at 15% no complains here

You've had a tough grow, and seeing your plants is flowering, in my eyes turns a tuff grow, into a successful one. Just a quick update for the weekend, nothing too exciting to mention this time around . Ladies are looking happy, got my environment sorted with the change in pots and the added filter. Glad to say that's all working. I also added a passive intake to the tent, simply cut my ducting in half and stuck that in one of the holes with a stocking on the end of it. Seems to be helping quite a bit. I feel bad for having these plants still referred to as numbers, I think it's time they get names... Throw some suggestions in the comments for me DSC#1 DCS#2 DSC#3 Still got the 3 little ones in here. Garden prep happening Monday, think they will be moving outside in the following week

Up my game a little more and start measuring my leaf sugar content with a refractometer.

How does the judging work if you still have three plants? Do we need to chose one plant to be judged on or will we judged on the entire grow? And should we hold of on harvesting and advise that we're ready for judging or is judging done on pictures throughout our diaries? And would the judges like pictures showing some sizes of buds and cola's?

Will narrate all this when I have some time.

Starting to see a purple fade on another plant now. Time to whip out the microscope again. These girls are close. I'll post again later with some measurements too.

Ok. Enough of this kak. Can’t stand opening the tent so while I had time and mostly cloudy, took them down. Was an awesome comp and came a long way. And the Lemon OG Haze 1 September, still in week 4. Getting 1ml Fish-Mix/Grow per liter and 2ml Amino Boost per 10 liter. Will Mainline the batch to 16 mains on each plant and attack the 1 KG dry per square meter (450 watts on a 1.2x1.2)... and as ambitious as I am.. I want to reach 1.5KG

Week 3 veg and I going to be honest I have not seen growth like this with organics in awhile, so far I'm really enjoying the autopots with organics. The synthetics seem to be building salt on top of the coco and the growth somewhat seems slower compared to organic. I believe it might be due to the organics having a dosage of tricantonal which has been proven to boost growth Some of the ladies also got FIM, topped & LST Nothing else to report Zkittlez GG K-2
