  1. Switched back to 3500K from heavy blue in order to get the plants to stretch a bit, half plants have been top dressed with the new antifragile soil for testing. Moved a smaller plant and the seedlings to a different tent and moved in a big plat punch into the flower, did a bit of topping on the right to keep it just above the net and to allow the left to catch up. So will most likely flip in a week or so, before flip I'll be adding the blue back to the spectrum for the first two weeks of stretch then to full reds with IR/UV.

  2. Hello Garden folk! So I have decide to do a new and improved soil recipe that i'm going to make at home out of easy purchase ingredients. These ingredient will be in the ratio of what I believe will have really good results given the system is taken care-off, I'm typically going to put this soil in 2 x 40L pots out-doors..., I have not picked the strains yet but I know I need more soil so why not try something new. I will cut the nonsense and get straight to it. The recipe. per Cubic foot (28L of soil, might be closer to 30L but its not super precise) 5L sphagnum peat moss + 5L Coco 5l perlite + 5l vermiculite 8l Wormcasting (wermbosch) 1/4 Cup biochar 1/2 Cup alfalfa meal 1/4 Cup kelp meal 1/2 Cup calcitic lime 1/4 Cup dolomite lime 1/2 Cup gypsum standard grade (ground chunchy) 1/2 Cup Garders Gold dust gypsum 1 1/2 Cup basalt Rock Dust 1 Cup bone meal 1/2 Cup insect frass 1/4 Cup Humic acid 1/2 Cup (malted barley blended as fine as possible) 1/4 Cup Soft Rock Phosphate. This is quite a heavy mix but its what it takes to get those numbers up, so only water and inoculation will do for a while. I will be doing a check at what needs to be purchased and update accordingly, I'll be mixing about 100L which is easy enough as it will only require 1 decent size tote, I might consider splitting it up in 2 for easy of mixing and better consistency. Give me some time to get the ball rolling asseblief but I'm keen to have the soil mixed and cooking by the end of the weekend. I'm excited to have the changes made above and see how this new recipe results. LEKKE!

  3. Hi Everyone, Totally new to the cannabis growing(don't even have green fingers for normal growing...) But who doesn't need a nice challenge in these times. Seeing as my outdoor growing is a little haphazard at best, i've just had the Highpro 80x80x160 grow tent delivered, 35wat LED grow light(thinking this is way to little?) ready to get it going. The first harvest is going straight into a beer brewing experiment. Have 1 seedling going in 1/3 perlite, 1/3 Vermiculite & 1/3 potting soil and a second going hydro, in rockwool and leca pellets... Cheers Smirre

  5. Ok boys, here we are again. Its that lovely UPDATE time. Things has been going very well. They seem to like the soil mix and the added Bloodmeal probably is to thank for that, because they have been fed once in total since planting out. Jacky White She is new to the garden. I still haven't sexed her but she did come from some decent Jacky White bud from last season so I kinda hoping for that female to show in a week or 2. Blue Kush Berry Still on the small side, but thats supposed to be like that I think. With the Shiskaberry gene in there and she should be a smaller tree than the others with a short flowering time. Pineapple Chunk She just loves the morning sun. Her side branches is starting to push out for that all to familiar christmas tree look Banner Biscuits Also another good looking plant. Strong and sturdy. Leaves are big and healthy Slurricane Cheese Really excited about this. Havent had a cheese strain in a while Bruce Banner#3 Short and sturdy. Loving the leaf structure. Also on the shorter side but starting to catch up

  6. So this grow is done. I suspect the root aphids played a role in the lower than I'd like yield, the plants which were harvested a little later came out much better in terms of visual appearance and terps despite the root aphids but yield was down for sure. Bud is still good though, nice and terpy, very frosty and packs a punch! The In House Genetics plants are not known for massive yield, but 35g per plant is rather pathetic. Will see how it goes with the next grow without the root aphids but am looking at trying out some new strains which are not IHG... So y'all will have to wait for me to start that grow

  7. Hey Guys, I am growing blue dream at the moment and on the site where I bought the seeds it says that flowering is between 7 weeks - 9 weeks. Currently sitting at 7w3d. Here are some pics to look at. Do you guys think the time is close or do I leave it for another week? The plant is getting more and more yellower by the day Cant wait. On a similar note. Just before harvest, is it a good idea to let the plant sit in darkness for a day or two? Cant wait to hear from you.

  8. Damn, this company are fueled with movers and shakers, growing fast and providing top notch service. I am so excited about a new development, that I can assure you will happen. Long story short, Quickbuyngrow have decided to support me and a 2 day cannabiz event I am hosting at the end of this month, here in Bathurst. Its going to be wild. And that my friends, is not the big news. I will update soon. Happy growing.

  10. I found that most cultivars need at least 10 weeks to mature. My Cheese and White Widow is the only ones I have grown that matured faster.

  11. CHOCOLATE GELATO UPDATE Pretty much the same feeling as this piggy.... LoL The Chocolate Gelato is looking really well. She is quite sturdy and growing at a good speed. I havent fed her this past week due to all the rain we had and this week being cold I still dont see myself feeding her. The soil is pretty drenched with all the water and I dont want to cause unnecessary problems. I presume that the no-till soil is really nice and healthy cause she is does look like she is in need of nothing. I will however give her some foliar feeding tomorrow. FRONT VIEW: She is standing over a meter tall. Cant find my measuring tape but will check again tomorrow and get correct length TOP VIEW: The dark green is due to the overcast weather. LEAF SIZE: I was cleaning the front yard and found/caught 15 ladybugs and 1 praying mantis. I released them all into the garden and still saw quite a few today. Also saw a yellow spider... Untill next time... Stay lit and keep the good vibes up

  15. yo! the lady is looking good man... she is fading hard now! so it isnt too far from harvest time. i see a lot of milky and clear trichomes, so you will need to check daily now on multiple branches on the plant to see if you have mostly cloudy trichomes. my preference is to harvest when i see a few Amber here and there... so you might have another week or 2 depending on your preference. you could harvest now even... but why rush a good thing eh

  16. Kind of looks like a bonsai version of a larger grow. Really didn't stretch much at all. But it kind of works out because I aim for as little "larf" as possible anyway. Die f****r, yea that's what you get. Now yous can't leave. Check this guy out:

  18. Technically when growing outdoors at your house or anywhere these days actually. It's not advisable to be growing in the soil around your yard. Unless you've had your soil tested for contaminates, you should be growing in containers.

  19. Just a question, but why test the EC of the soil when growing organic??? Or have I misses something along the thread??? Last season I played around with PH when I grew a plant with mineral feeding to compare harvest totals etc, but not EC cause I didnt have a EC meter. To this day, I have never used a PH or EC pen for my garden.

  20. ☝ the soil we're talking about here is the load in the big pot above, in the post where I mention the Trainwreck and Hawaiian Cake plants I speak of another test I am doing with some re-ammended soil. I had a bag of sphagnum, mixed into the same recycled FF + wormcasting mix and it came out really nice but I felt it needed some perlite and now I am happy with the mix. that mix will only be used for potting up cuttings or seedlings. it's more focussed on aeration and root development than providing feed for the plants

  21. Thanks man! Sun light is freeee, clones are free, soil is from a recycled batch, there really is no reason to not be growing something outside Yeah basically I just run a EC test on the used soil, got a shit load of it piling up, EC came in at 2.7... perfect for young plants. So I really didn't have to do much to the soil with regards to re-ammending. I just filled up the big pot up to 70% with the old soil then added a nice 10cm thick layer of worm castings to fill the top of the pot. This was done in early August, the pot was left to stand in the rain and sun just like that for a whole month, then I just flipped the soil and mixed it around a little. EC is now at 4.7 so I am expecting to start feeding her during late veg, but will probably just top up with worm castings again. nothing fancy

  22. Nice thread you have here my man. Plants are looking lush and green. Seems like your off to a good start. When you say "re-ammended", is it thr same soil from previous season, just adjusted with new soil and additives???

  23. Hello all... EHG really is rubbish. I am a licenced commercial grower and have tried and tested almost every 'weed' nutrient out there. And I will tell you with all honesty that the best out there and an all rounder is called Easygro...it comes in Starter,Vegetative and Fruit&Flower. It costs about R800 for a 25kg...little less for the Starter and a little more for the fruit and flower. It also comes in 1kg bags for around R60. It is far stronger in values than most other produces on the shelf and comes with a water buffer added to balance the PH. You can get it from any farmers co-op. It has no harmful heavy metals and no harsh chemicals. I know this because every harvest gets sent for full analysis. There is another product called Multifeed which is very similar but far more expensive. I hope this helps someone.

  24. Smoking that much, I feel one needs to grow themselves. Waaay too costly otherwise, especially if its indoor.

  32. So a bit of an update, took these photos on Saturday but didn't get a chance to post them until now - been busy trimming some plants which came down. Twisted Helix: Bananium: Frosted Apricots: Sugarcane: Really excited to take these plants down! Some new ones which I have yet to try myself as well.
