  1. A very happy New Year to all you Garden people of the Land Cannbizzzzzz. Today I will have to let you in on a happening during the grow, to put you in the tent. I went away, 5 days passed, it was I think around week 4, I didn't want the SSC to continue stretching so I had the light Closer to maximum for an extended period of time. As a result, the top buds are receding faster and really not as happy. Plants are doing good now as I reduced power. And gave some Microbes, Fulvic extract, miniscule amount of molasses, epsom salts as the soil would do well with the extra magnesium. 1 day before week 6 is where I am.

  2. Time to catch up a bit. Due to the puppies my time was so low, that I didn't invest enough time in the tray of Lemon OG Haze. But we did the smoke test and 2 plants made it in the next round. I give those a bit a better run and see if there is "more" Lemon coming out. I wasn't to happy, even with the 2 winners.. I expected more. To see how far I can get.. I made a tray of JetFuel. 16 clones on a 1.2x1.2.. and see how much I get out.. I used a screen to make my life more simple and less time consuming.. watering is just a mission as I didn't tray feed.. humidity was to high, didn't wanted to add more moisture. Have a tray with Gelato and Slurricane beside, looking good too Also want to give @Bay Seeds a big Thumbs Up (This one: ) @Stinger96 left me a bud of his Strawberry Vostok and a pack of Regular Autos.. the bud was so nice and tasty.. I put the Regs over right away. There was a clear taste of Strawberry.. amazing! Their grow behavior was a bit poor.. but I had em outside at the start. Will do a nice run of more soon, if the second taste is as sexy.. I have a strain I want to keep. Local starts to impress more and more If you look for a Auto to try and cant make up your mind.. look no further give the Strawberry Vostok a chance... we smoke tested a few strains that evening.. the Strawberry Vosok won by a mile. Late addon: You saw that Eskom wants to raise price 1 April by 20.5%?

  3. Hi folks, So I am currently 41 days into flower and the tent is smelling insane. Overall a dominant candy smell. Will still give each one a sniff to see where they end up at. For one the mains are all starting to gain some mass and fill out but the SSH is showing that she will switch the lights off in the tent at the end. The ladies are also starting to fade out, some more than others.. The Blunicorn also bliksemed over but atleast no damage done so she was also staked. The OSG Cheese and Jelly Breath ladies are really staking their claim for best ladies in the house. Glad I kept a cutting of the OSG Cheese and will forever be grateful to my man @PsyCLown for his contribution with the Jelly Breath. I will post some bud shots later in the week. 4. All the best for the year folks. Just got my new year's home grow on the go with clones into their 15l pots. Used FF premium, re-amended with 200ml elemental blend per pot. Quatro Kush F3 (from @SkunkPharm) Exodus Cheese Tortoni#1 and Strawberry sugar cookies They have a good few weeks of veg ahead of them. In Flowering it's a mixed bunch clapping day 17 already.

  5. Braai time is update time. Gets water when the garden gets water. Up to twice a day. Now and again a bit of molasses when I mix for indoor. Wind battering the FcUK out of it and the ants keep on dragging all sorts of things into their nest under it.

  6. Harvester ant, also known as harvesting ant, is a common name for any of the species or genera of ants that collect seeds (called seed predation), or mushrooms as in the case of Euprenolepis procera, which are stored in the nest in communal chambers called granaries.[1] They are also referred to as Agricultural ants. Seed harvesting by some desert ants is an adaptation to the lack of typical ant resources such as prey or honeydew from hemipterans. Harvester ants increase seed dispersal and protection, and provide nutrients that increase seedling survival of the desert plants. In addition, ants provide soil aeration through the creation of galleries and chambers, mix deep and upper layers of soil, and incorporate organic refuse into the soil.[2] From what I can find so far on what I think is a Veromessor Pergandei common name Harvester Ant.

  7. the knife can really cut both ways here, but I guess you could predict the outcome a little by trying to find out what type of ants those are. ants that take plant matter underground usually do this to create mycelial networks for them to feed on, they're mushroom farmers, yet it's not unheard of ants munching on fine roots till the plant dies, the ants attraction to the root zones is the mycelium that is commonly found around plant roots. but then again we shouldn't forget that the cannabis growing there is also a plant by defenition and is the exact thing the ants are after to help them grow more mycelium. some ant colonies like to build their farms under a plant so the plant and its roots provide structure and protection for their homes, they know this and try to not hinder the growth of the plant aswell as the extra aeration and mycelium at the root zone that helps the plant to grow. other ants go farming at the base of the plant and end up putting the plant through so much stress they become weak and start attracting pests, the ants know this and use this tactic so they get a plant to host their food, such as psy mentioned. either way, pretty cool to see this go down

  8. Day 65. Zoom in on pic #1 and you'll see the spider mite problem. Then on one of the bud shots. So today is the day I'm thinking of switching off the lights. You hear and read about a period of darkness before harvest. Do you guys think it's worth me doing it as this plant is getting a bud wash and going towards edibles as people out here in the bush don't mind a bit of protein with their greens. Time to give the cabinet a once over and decide on the next grow.

  9. No, not yet first, we're planning to do a Freakshow Reversal. In the mean time, I'm collecting some killer clones to cross with the Solfire stuff. Probably 3 months

  10. yeah, I've had this with all kinds of plants and sometimes it makes me stress, but I have seen plants thriving like this aswell. the explination I gave is actually very simple, the physicality of it all is quite complex, my relationship with ants really is a love hate situation they're very interesting, but can wreak havoc if they wana and we can never be too careful I watched a documentary looooong ago about ants basically doing above ground landscaping by root management under ground. blew my mind, how they knew if they munch this certain root they know that one certain branch of the plant will die and they would prevent their habitats from getting too dense, but still not kill all the plants in the area so they still have protection and all that. sort of like they making bonsai

  11. Like when you pick up a pot plant and find an ant nest. Interesting [emoji1690] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk

  12. Came across this little one last week. How the seed got there, dunno. I usually scatter ungerminated seeds in one area of the garden. Here's the thing. Nothing usually grows in this area of the garden and the plant is smack bang in the middle of an ant nest. My wife thinks an ant brought it home. The soil is not ideal so I'm wondering how the ant nest is going to affect the plant. Ants are loving the molasses I think. In the last pic to the left of the leca you will see an ant at work. The plant will either be from @Totemic or @Bay Seedsas that's all I've been growing the last while. Let's see if this survives and hopefully I can recognize it.

  17. I took mine and made some rosin, honestly the best tasting Auto strain I had grown so far, I was a bit disappointed by the Russian Fuel as the one I had going just tasted like weed (but then again I grew my plants in a mix of red clay dirt and coco coir). I bought a buddy of mine a pack of the Jessica Rabbit Autos and he was telling me the terps are off the charts compared to the other auto's he has going.

  20. Whatever strain it is it's one tough plant. Gonna have to read up on what happens in an ant nest. Are the ant tunnels aerating the roots or are the ants eating the roots? Is the plant matter the ants are carrying into the nest all been eaten or is some of it composting? Let's see. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk

  21. Haha, this is quite cool - keen to see how it turns out. Wondering if the ants will use the plant to farm some pests though, like aphids or scale?

  22. Looking good! With the LED's and too much light. There would be a few factors to take into considers, what size tent do you have the 480w of LED's in and then height from the lights to the plants. You could have 50w of power and have it be too much as its too close to the plants. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  23. Yeah I thought I should update soon. I think they coming back to life. I have 2 x 240w, Ya I find that's quite enough, so your certainly is as well. I think with LED coverage is the main idea.

  24. Thanx man. Yeah running different strains at once creates a bit of a conundrum as they feed differently and also progress differently through the flowering cycle. On my side I only push out just under 400 watt of LED so not too much to worry about on excessive light. I hope you grow will go well man, share some pics if you can

  25. Plants are starting to fill out nicely man! Right on! I see some are still shooting pistols and others already starting to slow down quite clearly, puts my mind at ease as the same thing is happening to me now. I thought it could have been due to too much light however to some degree I think it may have been. Top nugs receding and not as happy.

  26. Very very nice man that lady is going super strong. Can't wait to see her in flower We definitely have some different phenos going which is super cool. Will have to share some of that bud to get the groove on and understand the nuances.

  28. Hi folks. Almost done with week 4 of flower and the ladies are starting to stink the place up. Absolutely beautiful smells coming through. The Jelly Breath is probably one of my favourite plants I have ever grown and smoked. She is real top heavy so I staked her for extra support. I didn't get a good top shot of the SSH 98 but she is going strong. White Bubblegum White Afghan Skunk Purple Dosidos Sunset Sherbet Blunicorn Jelly Breath Super Silver Haze 98 OSG Cheese Dark shot
