Here is the flower tent, full at last after putting the Gorilla Zkittlez into their trays. The clones I have going in the veg tent that are supposed to replace the plants that are to be harvested soon are taking really long to root, and I might have missed the mark with regards to the timing... oops. So there will be an empty spot in the middle of the flower tent for a little while until the clones are ready.5 points

I spent the rest of the day trimming a harvest I had drying for the last week. This was the first run I did in the AutoPots and consisted of 6x ZxP. I won't sugarcoat it (although there was still plenty of sugar), but there managed to be more bud rot again, but it didn't spread. I think it developed as far as it did while flowering and mostly stayed at the center of the buds most affected. I'm going to be honest and say I probably lost half the yield to bud rot. The buds mostly affected were the large, main colas () positioned at the tops of the plants. I don't think I had very good ventilation in the tent at the time. I've managed to save a good portion of buds so not all was lost, but we gotta get this shit pristine now. The unaffected buds are frosty and nice, I managed to get about 2/3rds of a 3 liter jar. I am going to log the weight of all my harvests for the year and present a grand total, try and set myself some baselines/future goals.5 points

I would give those plants a douse of Efekto Eco Insect Control and remove the most affected bottom leaves. I've tried white knuckling through thrips and it just didn't end up well. I now treat all my veg plants once they are mature with a douse of Efekto to keep the common pests away.4 points

Those white dots are a sure sign of spidermite damage and won't "heal". Check the underside of the leaves to confirm. An organic insecticide should do the trick, just be aware that spidermite are persistant buggers and can develop resistance to insecticides. A topdress with mulch/straw/grass clippings would help with evaporation. The new growth looks good and healthy, which is a good sign.4 points

This is a developing story here in South Africa of Khoisan protestors outside the houses of parliament being arrested for their legal cannabis crop. I will post more later, right now, video and links. I second this - i had a thrips issue last night - i sprayed the Efecto insect control, and today i no longer have a thrips issue3 points

Kinda messed up seeing as the Khoisan existed before these "cannabis laws". Even more disgusting how government can treat the true historical indigenous people like this. In fact it is every nation that stomps on their indigenous peoples, just look at the Native Americans in the States and Aborigines in Australia. I think these Khoisan that setup themselves by the Union buildings have been quite a headache to our government and government have been looking for any means to disrupt, annoy or harass these people without causing too much of a stir. Gotta love the Khoisan with an iPhone though. You know these guys have been camping at the Union Buildings for three years now!? Jitte.3 points

Honestly, this is outrageous, many headlines say he was cultivating and trafficking, even selling dagga there. I think this man needs representation. He made that land his private property as a finger to government, and for so long they couldn't do anything about it and still can't. But now the interesting part is this. The king and his family are growing all their produce on the land. Now he is without the right to grow his dagga for some or another reason, the right we all have... this public act of stripping the Khoi san King of his right to cultivate cannabis is significant. This man needs representation.3 points

Hi guys!! I’m thinking of topping this young plant today. Is it too early?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

My son and myself spent most of the day under the tree in a massive bin filled with water watching this plant getting nailed in the wind. Was wondering if I should put up some sort of protection but decided against doing that. If the ants wanted shade they would have chosen a shady spot. Some burnt tips but marching on. Science project mother nature continues.2 points

I decided to give the trimmed bud a weigh-in before I start taking cheeky samples. First bud of the year comes in at 87g of ZxP. I am going to update the original post with the dates of harvest as well as the weight per harvest as we go throughout the year.2 points

I must've been smoking the wrong strain when I got sick! Or maybe it acted like a vaccine and prevented serious illness I think there is a will, they just want to squeeze out what they can of the embedded pharmaceutical industry first. Have you noticed a general attitude change towards big pharma as we get deeper into this 'pandemic'? I wouldn't be surprised that they want the reputation of big pharma to fall a bit so they can start introducing their "new and organic" range of cannabinoid health and medicinal products created at scale as means of propping themselves back up as the conscious heroes they are2 points

Morning folks. I came across this very interesting article relating to a certain cannabinoid acid that can bind to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein that can essentially block the virus from infecting human cells. The study was done by researchers at the Oregon State University and just goes to show how far behind we are at understanding all the numerous medicinal benefits of the range of cannabinoids that the plant has to offer. I have to be honest it is quite irretating for me that there is no real political will globally to embrace the study of the plant more aggressively as we are only at the tip of the proverbial iceberg at understanding the numerous benefits that one can find in the plant.. Here's the link if you wanna have a read.. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-10395689/Cannabis-compounds-stop-virus-causes-COVID-19-entering-human-cells-study-finds.html Have a blazing day folks.1 point

I have 4 plants that are grown in 30% coco, 30% perlite, 30% compost, 10% wormcastings and some amendment like bone meal, rock dust, atlantic mix of kelp and other amendments. They started out with small dots and i thought it was some small heat stress as we have had some hot days. But i then discovered white flies and winged fungus gnats. I went out and got a organic pesticide and sprayed it on. The white flies were gone and the plants looked healthy but today they are looking much worse. I don't know if it is a bacteria, a insect or under/over nutrient. I did give some vermi tea at the end of last week. I give my plants rain water that i save in a big 500 litre tank. I ensure my pH is 6 to 6.5 range. They are small and in an average of 15 litre pots. I am watering about 250ml of water each morning as the heat is drying them out fast and i do not want to run risk of overwatering. Any help or advice will be much apreciated. Note: 4 different strains from white widow to durban poison.1 point

My guy Evan. Thanks very much. I will wait for one more node in that case. I followed your previous advice and trimmed the flowering plant as instructed with the diagram. Oh boy!!! She’s doing well. Or it was the right strain all along the complexities of the human endocannabinoid system and our understanding thereof is still in its infancy. 100% on point man. It is a cabal of profit seeking organisations with only self interests and market share in mind. We have already seen big pharma dable in the CBD space and with the endless money flow at their disposal one can reasonably assume that once they enter the market full steam all the smaller players (that do their work based on ethics and integrity) will be relegated to the bottom of the food chain. Such an intricate topic that can be debated ad nauseam...1 point

Can't wait! I've been just growing the ZxP for a long while. Kept the extractor the same, added the two new box fans on the ceiling so that air is always circulating the tops and bottom of the plants as they push air down and then lastly the dehumidifier.1 point

Not many people did give a shit, or thought things could just stop. David and Goliath story. Thinking about it, unreal how quickly they stopped. I think it was a little bit of magic that happened. No one from the group of activists has met the journalist who published the story, it was just a group of people with a common cause who saw the tragic spraying that took place on those mountains. Also think the powers that be, saw the shitstorm coming and folded their wings. The cops used to have shirts printed saying : " Just Spray IT " with a swoosh of a helicopter underneath.1 point

I watched a video around 2016 on YouTube, with the sabc showing the helicopters and spraying the goods, but cant find it yet. Here is a article from that video and same time. They did show the barrel of poison if I recall in the video http://thegreentimes.co.za/south-africa-stop-this-criminal-devastation-of-the-transkei-ecology/ Added, the details are in this article, Monsanto, Glyphosate, RoundUp Ultra (the new Agent Orange)1 point

This could be the case, but I have to say perhaps people like monsanto or who ever is behind all of it and who ever was paying them didn't give a shit, but saying no one gave a shit might not be so fair, because I think the gteater amount of people did give a shit. that's why they fought and got them to stop. The reason you gave and the quote from those sources all plays into all 1000 different angles of defence those guys will throw at you, so they can keep doing it and protect their bank or whatever agreements they have. when taken to court the platform for monsantos argument will be they did it, because cannabis is schedule 1 narcotic in some other parts of the world and they might be exporting it there. the situation about getting rid of the product or the argument about if it's carcinogenic or not is kind of irrelevant, but I am not surprised that if it was monsanto, or for that matter any branded company that wana push their product, will create a silly argument like that they can win in some way to distract a person from the real problem which is them killing the cannabis fields. monsanto has been in hot shit for many years about all kinds of crazy shit. even if the shit they sprayed was a super nutrient for all other plants, and only killed the cannabis, the argument was that they didn't want them to kill their cannabis fields anymore and the focus was to get them to stop all together, not to spray a different product that's not carcinogenic but still kills the cannabis1 point

Harvester ant, also known as harvesting ant, is a common name for any of the species or genera of ants that collect seeds (called seed predation), or mushrooms as in the case of Euprenolepis procera, which are stored in the nest in communal chambers called granaries.[1] They are also referred to as Agricultural ants. Seed harvesting by some desert ants is an adaptation to the lack of typical ant resources such as prey or honeydew from hemipterans. Harvester ants increase seed dispersal and protection, and provide nutrients that increase seedling survival of the desert plants. In addition, ants provide soil aeration through the creation of galleries and chambers, mix deep and upper layers of soil, and incorporate organic refuse into the soil.[2] From what I can find so far on what I think is a Veromessor Pergandei common name Harvester Ant.1 point

yeah, I've had this with all kinds of plants and sometimes it makes me stress, but I have seen plants thriving like this aswell. the explination I gave is actually very simple, the physicality of it all is quite complex, my relationship with ants really is a love hate situation they're very interesting, but can wreak havoc if they wana and we can never be too careful I watched a documentary looooong ago about ants basically doing above ground landscaping by root management under ground. blew my mind, how they knew if they munch this certain root they know that one certain branch of the plant will die and they would prevent their habitats from getting too dense, but still not kill all the plants in the area so they still have protection and all that. sort of like they making bonsai1 point

the knife can really cut both ways here, but I guess you could predict the outcome a little by trying to find out what type of ants those are. ants that take plant matter underground usually do this to create mycelial networks for them to feed on, they're mushroom farmers, yet it's not unheard of ants munching on fine roots till the plant dies, the ants attraction to the root zones is the mycelium that is commonly found around plant roots. but then again we shouldn't forget that the cannabis growing there is also a plant by defenition and is the exact thing the ants are after to help them grow more mycelium. some ant colonies like to build their farms under a plant so the plant and its roots provide structure and protection for their homes, they know this and try to not hinder the growth of the plant aswell as the extra aeration and mycelium at the root zone that helps the plant to grow. other ants go farming at the base of the plant and end up putting the plant through so much stress they become weak and start attracting pests, the ants know this and use this tactic so they get a plant to host their food, such as psy mentioned. either way, pretty cool to see this go down1 point

Braai time is update time. Gets water when the garden gets water. Up to twice a day. Now and again a bit of molasses when I mix for indoor. Wind battering the FcUK out of it and the ants keep on dragging all sorts of things into their nest under it.1 point

you working with autos or photoperiods? if photoperiods, I would suggest trying out smaller pots for seedlings and move your way up. easy way to make sure you not over watering.1 point
