I commented on their Facebook page & was called within 5 Minutes. This was a mishap & they are working to resolve now.6 points

Ok so this Freedom Farms soil is not all that. All the plants except the front right plant is in FFarms soil. That one is in Orgasoilux. This is the first time in 6 months that I fed soil. malted barley, molasses and microbes. They have one more week then I want to switch to flower. But that probably won’t happen with the slow growth on some of them.5 points

Good day and a well day to all you garden people of SA. I wanted some variety to smoke and I thought it would be good to see how the soil works with different genetics, so I’ve decided to grow these plants in the soil mixed and partially assimilated above, now the new homes of GG #4 Sherbet crasher Animal cookies Quattro kush and one Jelly bean outside to flower i must make a note and inform all that of the 60l of soil above, +- 30 have been added so a third of used soil from the dqxslurri, The soil might need some help towards the end but in all likely hood not as the worn out soil was pretty much on balance with a lack of calcium. This was solely because I wanted a new home for all genetics, and with the short veg time the plants will do well in something less nutrient dense, however, plants would do fine in 100% concentration, but then the ideal situation would require a longer veg, which won’t be the case as we will be flipping in 2 weeks or so I let this soil sit for 2 1/2 weeks in total. the plants were needing the repot.3 points

AntZilla going to sleep as the full moon rises on the West Coast. This little one is surely testing the elements out here. High temperature. Low to no humidity. Strong hot winds. Me forgetting to water. Only the ants feeding the soil.2 points

I'd like to add here as well. Growing in pots in our heat has disadvantages, you have to manage this enviroment for your plants. I believe mulching may assist your growing efforts. Its got mulitiple advantages. 5cm of grass clippings or straw will help with moisture retention as well as keeping your soil surface cool in the heat. Its essential in the hotter areas of RSA as cannabis plants has lots of fine roots near the surface. It will also benefit the micro organisms in the soil and in turn they will benefit your plants, it will also add organic matter as it breaks down and you can easily just top it up. On the north coast 30-40deg C is common in summer, some of my seedlings have burned to a crisp. I add a layer to all my pots and even my 2x growbeds and I can see the benefit just in my watering schedule.2 points

Maybe I'm wrong about this. I just repeated a rumour I heard. Wow you seem to know my garden/genetics/conditions much better than me. My other (non-Leb) plants aren't flowering yet. Semi-autoflower plants are supposed to flower early. Who else has outdoor plants that are flowering at the wrong time of year?2 points
-
@Weskush, I've come to realize that most/many modern popular strains are not pure sativa because breeders try to reduce the long flowering period. Also: Dutch Passion's website claims that Durban Poison is a "Durban X Unknown Indica". ACE seeds is a trusted breeder that has many pure sativa lines.2 points

your reply is an understatement - the plants LOVE the space and i have never grown better meds since the move to totes!2 points

The thought has crossed my mind more than a couple times. lol, Half a tote full of soil, still have the ease of moving around conveniently, and plants go wild.2 points

yeah I guess then make fire under them, keep reaching out and make the situation public as it is your right to do so and tag them, hopefully they have common sense. hope you don't get swindled!!2 points

I ordered on the 23 Dec, I didn't follow up until recently to give grace for holiday period. Website had no close or reopen notice. I've sent an email in addition this morning, just a response with ETA would be fine.2 points

These are semi-autoflowering landrace Sativas that express both THC and CBD. The semi-autoflowering trait causes them to start flowering after about 6 weeks, or if they become root bound, or if they detect that the photoperiod is shortening.2 points

I think the new FF soil is more suited for Flowering period based on what I've read, this may be why the plants are struggling a bit.1 point

Ya eish, FF looks to be less than decent growth. You need some Biobizz there bru!1 point

Hey @Pants Wondering if you could give me an update of this vape after having it for a few months. I'm considering buying one of these...1 point

Thats pretty standard flowering times for a photoperiod. I take it that this is not a fast flowering or auto strain then? Do you leave them outside permanently or introduce a dark cycle indoors/tarp to get them to flower so early? Normally outdoor photoperiods will only start flowering round about about this time of the year.1 point

The stretch has finished and these ladies are now between 110cm and 140cm. The pics show a broad-leaf and two narrow leaf phenos. I got some yellow leaves on the broad-leaf plant, so I top-dressed with compost and bat guano and started keeping a closer eye on the moisture levels in the smart pots. They dry out quickly when it's hot! The flowers are releasing some lovely floral notes. I pollinated a branch of flowers on each plant with the pollen from the two male Lebanese plants.1 point

They look good man. Those buds still need to fatten up quite a bit. As mentioned by @donnob look for leaf fade, pistils turning brown/orange and curling into themselves and then trichome colour. Also try your best to keep the bud sites as dry as possible to avoid bud rot during flower. Patience will be rewarded1 point

I remember during my second indoor grow with freedom farms I asked around what I could add to the soil, because of problems I picked up during my first run, was told to add calcitic lime - a hand full to 30L of soil, plants got fucked even worse than the first round. lol this is how we learn I guess! for now I found the best way for me to grow in their premium classic soil is straight water till they show first signs of N def then topdress with wormcastings. I only start feeding any biobizz nutes during flower.1 point

Haha My dumb ass saw the video on freedom farm classic and I noticed that the Calcuim was a bit low. I decided to add some greenhouse feed calcium as I had it on hand and added 15ml to my 20liter feed. My plants didn't like it at all and took a good knock luckily they recovered in time before I had to flip to flower1 point

Cool thanks man, The mix will probably sit for about a month in the tote, Ill probably wet the mix with some microbes and molasses. Then ill let it sit in the pots outside for a while and sprout some cover crops for 2 weeks - a month, then Ill plant .1 point
-
Hey bud, so the Standard base would be just shy of 1/3 for base/aeration/compost, I wanted a bit less castings and a bit less coco for lower levels of potassium. Let's see how it results.1 point
-
That is quite a mix! How long do you let all that sit before planting in it?1 point

So weekend away and things are running as they should. Temperature stabilizing around 24 gives me hum of 60. Best I can do without a dehumidifier. Plants are a lot happier after a couple of days. In the veg space on top it’s running a bit Cooler and humidity around 70. [emoji20] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

If you can avoid staying around 26 degrees is best to keep Terps. Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk1 point

from your statement about the graph, i am not sure you understand it correctly. this isnt a mix and match chart, but more of an info chart. it tells you what your VPD is by charting your CURRENT temp vs your CURRENT Rh. so by saying you need to go above 30 degrees to get a RH of 65 is wrong. an example is as follows. the early veg tent temp is a cool 25 degrees, and humidity is a bit low today at 40% - that means your VPD is 1.41, not exactly ideal for early veg, but it is what it is. if you want to change the vpd to a better veg VPD, you will need to raise the RH with a humidifier to between 60 -70% while the temp stays at 25. OR lower the temp down to 15 degrees while RH stays at 40%. so it is just a chart showing where you are, and indicating your course of action to improve your vpd depending on the phase of growth. let me know if this makes more sense to you...because it can be a very powerful piece of knowledge to carry around with you1 point
-
So I looked up some vpd charts. Seems like for a ~65% humidity for early flower I need to run over 30 celcius [emoji51] So going to add a little fan heater and checking what that does to growth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
