First week of flip and stretch is not so bad so far (hopefully it stays this pace). Currently have blue spectrum on and lights pretty close to the canopy to try to alleviate as much stretch as possible (genetics aside). Will be placing over net this weekend for support, do some defoliation and start building the watering system for the netbows.5 points

Pm can be quite selective, depending on many factors. No point having airflow but the plants are dense and bushy, they need to be thinned out/defoliated proactively. Don't water from the top if you can help it, especially during flower. Being pro active with your IPM also helps a lot. I know from previous experience what issues are most likely to occur in my grow, so I prepped for those. (Worms, spidermite, aphids, PM) Sometimes PM infects less resistant strains or weak individual plants. We've got outdoor plants next to each other, the Future 1 has no PM, but the Blueberry right next to it had those same PM spots. I had Coppersoap on hand and sorted that out quick as they wern't in flower yet. In flower I'd go 50% mix full cream milk and water or as was mentioned sulphur spray or pot.bicarb depending on your situation.4 points

I have lost two beautiful tops to bud rot. It was completely unnoticeable until I had begun the harvest tonight. I had started at first to just take the tops off, but I soon realised the extent of the PM as I got deeper into the...well...weeds...and decided that leaving the bottoms any longer would compromise them. This is for the GZ specifically. At first it seemed as though I was going to lose the majority of the popcorn buds due to lack of development but as I started going through them, I ended up throwing maybe only two or three popcorn nugs away. Fokit. I got a relatively clean run on the last ZxP, and my first harvest this year I had lost like all the tops. You know what they call this? They call this progress. Statistically, I'm winning. So take that, bourgeoisie. Anyways, new game plan. I am going to chop the rest of the current ZxP on Sunday. I would do it tomorrow, but I will be participating in a 3+ hour jiu jitsu grading ceremony of death in the evening, so my body will be unable to do much the entirety of Saturday. Earlier today I had prepped a new room in which I will be moving my entire growing setup. Flower tent, veg tent and a drying tent, all in one environmentally controlled room. Jirre I will poes off hard if I get pm and bud rot again. Some would call this, 'foreshadowing', but as I have said before I am a betting man. I'll roll that dice until I hit two sixes. Or two ones. Idk dice rules. I'll therefore be moving the KmintZ while they are currently in flower. It is maybe a 20m journey for them so I don't think they will trip. Another reason for why the move needs to happen now is because I have the next batch of ZxP as well as the Wedding Cake clones in the veg tent just begging to get flowering, so the time is now...now is the time? It's late. Here's a chonky Gorilla Zkittlez top.4 points

I'm finding it interesting how many outdoor grows get PM. Considering airflow is a blaming factor when getting PM indoors. What better airflow than fresh air and wind outside?? How does 1 prevent this?3 points
-
Yes, that does look like PM. Never used Neem for PM. Try some spraying sulphur / bio sulphur instead - you should get better results for PM Coppersoap can also work well, but only to be used in veg.3 points

Howdy! So been a while since I last had a grow diary. New year, new grow! Decided to skip through the boring veg part - but to bring you all up to speed I got some seeds from @Golden-Goose and BnB (all regulars). Popped them on 31 December and flipped most on 20 Feb (from seed takes quite a bit longer than from cutting). So I got the following seeds: GG Wedding Mints (GG Strains) Critical Banana (Old School Genetics) Pineapple Chem (Golden Goose) Dosi Punch (Symbiotic Genetics) I had fucking horrible luck with the Dosi Punch, only ended up with 1 seedling which stunted and is still in veg. Hoping it is female. BnB won't do anything, the breeder has not responded to me - waste of money unfortunately. Hope this plant makes it worth it though. All other seeds germinated without issues. I think there is also one GG Wedding Mints in veg as that plant was taking its time and I did not want to wait any longer to flip as some plants were getting pretty darn tall already. I have already culled 6 or 7 males, there is one more plant which I am certain is male - will double check tonight and cull it if it is infact a male. At the same time, I decided to try a bit of an experiment and have put some plants into 10L pots, no training. See how that does in terms of yield and convenience. So this grow diary is a bit of a mix between some plants being grown from seed, as well as an experiment and to ensure the tent is full, I will likely be adding a few other plants into this tent to flower them. I plan on adding a Banizzle from @THCSA which is a Jungle Boys cross. The bud I saw from this plant looked fantastic and the bud I got to try was superb! The plant I have is from seed so hopefully it is female and we shall see what pheno I get. However I do plan on buying a pack of the Banizzle and some other seeds from Lank Dank Seedbank in the very near future! As for the experiment with the 10L pots, I have a mix of plants - some I have run before which are frosty AF but low yielders, some which I have run before which yield well but lack frost and some which I have not run before and have no clue what to expect. These are the strains in the experiment: Platinum Punch (In House Genetics) Bananium (In House Genetics) Crescendo (Ethos) Zweet Insanity (Ethos) Citradelic Sunset (Ethos) x2 I do not think I will be focusing much on the experiment, more on the other plants in the 20L fabric pots. Here is a pic I took over the weekend after I did a defol. The plant at the back which is still busy.... pretty sure its a male.2 points

Just starting out here today, this site looks quite informative, looking forward to learning from everyone.2 points

Me too! I know there is potential for some serious Gas on Gas = GAS! So a quick update, checked that tall plant in the back which did not get a defol and turns out it's female! So that is a win. Need to do a defol on her, likely tonight. Will do an update over the weekend with a tally of what all is in the tent and which plants from seed are still in veg (I think there are only 2 stragglers).2 points

Im really looking forward to learning from all the experienced growers on here. My interest in gardening was sparked by my late grandmother whom i always helped in the garden. Ive been growing vegetables and ornamentals outdoors on my own for the past 2 years, but this Im new to growing my own medicine. I suffered a serous accident a couple of years ago which almost left me paralyzed. The accident required surgery and inserting of prosthetics. I was not happy at all with quility of medicine i was getting , and i also i had no clue whereit came from or what went into it. One of the reasons i chose to grow my own. No looking now! Made tons of mistakes from burning seeds to overwatering. I harvested two autoflowes being an amnesia haze an OG kush, one of which finished off the size of my middle finger We live and learn right Currently running the following photoperiods in an indoor grow setup with very basic equipment as im on a budget: -Dirty Kush breath , Frosted apricots(in house genetics) -gorilla glue -gelato -Golden Cheese (Farmacy seeds) Dont think my lights are poweful enough. Im using a chinese led with two panels from my herb stand for supplemental light. Had a super long veg, and ended up with small plants. Here are some pics of my girls (dont laugh). Im honestiy just hoping to get to the finish line of my first grow. Hopefully i dont make the same mistakes on my next run. I only recently(final weeks of flower) used a lux meter and found that im so far below the light levels required and i feel like kicking myself. Id appreciate recommendations for a budget friendly light for my grow? Thanks for the welcome. Its great to be part of a growing community like this. Haha my wife is sick of listening to my cannabis tales2 points

Looks great in there ! The only thing is as you know when budget permits it is to invest in stronger lights, yes they can be pricey but they will pay you back in the long run with bigger and fatter buds for a few years. Welcome to the Fam!2 points

Pretty damn good for a first attempt. Now to refine your methods!2 points

ay bru stop right there and give yourself a fat pat on the back!!!! these ladies in your tent look great !! i mean, yes they are small and better can be done, but as a new grower who tried his hand at this craft, i say a huge WELL DONE!!! stick around this forum and we will lead you to becoming a fantastic grower2 points

Thanks all, worried I'm going to be fighting a losing battle here. Going to be away for 3 weeks next month so won't be able to tend to this, would either of the above eliminate the PM now or should I cut losses and just pull her out now?1 point

Hey! Welcome to the Forum. Been a while since i did any typing here. This is correct. My current grow I'm using air pots and was gifted a fabric pot to try out so I've got a plant in there too. Watering is my only issue with air pots. Fabric pots seemingly have the same benefits to airpots only watering is a hell of a lot less messy when you accidentally add an extra degree to your angle of watering . I'll be swapping out my 3 airpots with fabric pots after this grow for sure.1 point

I'm excited for this, Pitty flower tent isn't looking too hot currently. Let me see what I'm able to do though! Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

@Vivid Dreamer Nice! I assume the plants you're running are cuttings you got from others or did you purchase some seeds? Also keep in mind one does not measure grow lights by their lux/lumen, but instead their PAR (PPFD). As for affordable grow lights, take a look at our vendors on the forum. Looking good for a first attempt, I am not a fan of those air pots. Fabric pots I feel do a better job and are easier to work with. I think it was @Martin7318 who recently got to try some fabric pots and was previously using those air pots.1 point

Welcome to the forum bud. I am also a new member. Just joined the forum recently and its a wealth of information. Its amazing how far SA has come with cannabis. I'm 2-3 weeks away from successfully completing my first ever indoor grow. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey1 point

Stretchy plants are a pain to work with, internodal spacing the size of ones hand. Let's see how it turns out though.1 point

I have taken the tops off of the ZxP plants at 7 weeks flowering. Trichomes are all milky and I can't really spot any clear bulbs. In the past, I've always gone 8+ weeks on the ZxP but I've opted for a staggered harvest on the ZxP for now. I will let the lower branches go for another week. The bottom branches are nicely spread across the net now, so there's that. Not losing the tops to bud rot for me is just an absolute win right now. As for the Gorilla Zkittlez, it's a world war going on there with the powdery mildew. The milk and paper towels solution aren't working anymore so I am just plucking leaves now, and the stress is starting to show on the plants. I am going to also take the tops off of the Gorilla Zkittlez in a day or two from now. The bottom buds are definitely not as developed as the ZxP, so I am going to have to see as I go as to what I will do. I'll do a detailed post on the Gorilla Zkittlez tonight. ZxP1 point

The ZxP and Gorilla Zkittlez are both midway through flower. Looking at how the plants have grown so far, I probably could have removed a few more branches from the bottom, and I could have raised the net a bit more. Jirre you think you account for it and you actually didn't. At least I don't have to tie up every branch to stop them flopping around. Speaking of bottom branches, the KmintZ plants have got some fat foliage at the bottom. They will come very handy when it comes time to take some clones. I think I will do that in the new week. Veg tent also looking power. I've got some straggler ZxP clones from like late December/early January in one propagator, and the freshly cut ZxP from yesterday in the other. I might actually chuck the stragglers now that I think about it. Then I've got the six Wedding Cake seedlings, six ZxP seedlings, another two ZxP mothers, and one more Gorilla Zkittlez mother. El Plan is the ZxP and WC seedlings will replace the ZxP and Gorilla Zkittlez currently flowering, then I will take KmintZ clones next week, then Gorilla Zkittlez clones from the one mother the week after that, then ZxP from the older mother of the two a week after that. This should spread out the harvests between a week each come harvest time. This is my attempt at actually timing this shit right for once.
