  1. Update DS finally pushing pistils only beginning of week 5! Note to self: try to not grow the stretchiest of strains right next to the most compact of strains without taking necessary measurments now I got the most uneven canopy ever and it looks bad, the Blueberry Hashplant is gona finish sooner than the Deluxe Sugarcane, but it's right at the back and the DS in front is creating a wall blocking the BHP in, harvest time gona be a bit of a struggle. they're under a net too fuk

  2. Goodmorning, hope all is well and in good health! These ladies been living on nothing but 500ml clean water every second day, there should be more than enough food in the soil to not have to add nutrients, I am trying to keep them from growing too much as my flower tent still has its ways to go! still have a few spots on the leaves here and there, only thing I did that was out of the ordinary, I added some garden phosphate to the soil before transplanting so that's my main suspect at the moment. 7. After 4 days of toil, I have finally moved my setup into the new room. Everything is fresh and clean again, for as long as that will last. There's a bit more space between the tents so I can definitely clean more regularly. I had thought I might be cheeky and squeeze in another 2.4x1.2 tent but I'll probably only get another 1.2x1.2. I am thinking of doing an organic tent with fabric pots and FF soil. Stay tuned. Before I transferred the KmintZ, I gave them a spray of fungicide in case any PM decided to hitch a ride into the new spot. I decided to change the layout of the fans in the flower tent a bit. Instead of having the two fans both on the ceiling blowing down, I now have one in a corner on the ground, and one on the opposite corner but above the canopy line. I do believe there was plenty of stagnant air below the canopy and I feel it had contributed to the development of the powdery mildew in the last harvest. In order to allow the bottom fan the space and ability to blow without unnecessary resistance, I have removed one pot from the tent from one of the corners. I have taken the mature ZxP plants from the veg tent, potted them up and got them into the flower tent. They were looking really keen for the flip, and they had grown a little past where I usually would have wanted them, but the move had taken a little longer than expected. Due to having one less pot in the flower tent, I only potted up 5 ZxP and have reserved the remaining 6 pots for the upcoming Wedding Cake plants. The KmintZ clones in the veg tent are developing roots, also took roughly 3 weeks. Winning! This is also the first time I'm taking clones within the first week of flower instead of keeping mothers and I can see the difference between clones taken in veg. The KmintZ clones are pushing pistols quite heavily, so I predict a period of reveg. Not to worry, I think the timing might work out quite well as the KmintZ in the flower tent have still quite a bit to go. I will pot the clones after they have the vent open for a day or two to climatise.

  8. @Bay SeedsStrawberry Vostok F2 Autoflower. 3 plants from 5 seeds. First casualty grew upside down. Couldn't save it. Second casualty I just killed. Don't ask. So I'd say germination rate 100%. Plants going on 2 weeks old now and looking healthy.

  9. Me too. I went through a year of harvests using it, now seeing what it's like without it.

  10. Nah, no negatives for the plants. If you want clean and sparkly, stay away from organic stuff. The amino mix I use has molasses in it and not even sure what else, but that is the source of the slimy stuff. Silica you need to be careful with. Too much can cause lockout issues and adding it in the incorrect order can cause nutes to precipitate out of solution which makes it unavailable to the plants. I have now stopped using silica again.

  12. Can't see anything indicating female, must agree with@Totemic, looks more like males. Wait a week or so for them to show proper, then you'll know for sure.

  16. 13 weeks, this plant is really starting to do stuff now, seems the flower is bulking up more over the past week. I Plan to harvest this weekend. The plant is bottom heavy, the buds at the bottom of the plants are significantly more developed and bigger than the ones on top which I'm not complaining about. its a long time to flower a plant, but I was expecting at least one plant to take this long during this time of the year. Its hot as balls and I can find a trace of mildew or any other issues so again, not complaining. Will definitely showcase of some nugs after dried and cured, she is very pretty.

  17. @SkunkPharm I think then also the plant would have been more apt to dealing with the light stress, The ginger tea was very chilled in them rays.

  18. Ola growers, all the babies are up in the propagation station and I do not think they will be stretching too much for the light which is amazing as it buys me sometime. I'm quite impressed with these LED tubes. They are fitting the purpose very well.

  19. Not much to update here on week 10, been a slow 2 weeks, but cant blame the plants, its been hot and yucky lately. The Ginger tea is finishing up nicely, might get the chop sooner and SSC slower behind, but is a huge plant and is still maintaining good health, so I don't have a reason to cut her yet. Will probably let them go another week or 2

  20. Better update on week 8, almost at the finish line, just been getting water then the dqxslurri small yielded 50g and the tall yielded 76, will drop a smoke report in the coming weeks

  21. A very happy New Year to all you Garden people of the Land Cannbizzzzzz. Today I will have to let you in on a happening during the grow, to put you in the tent. I went away, 5 days passed, it was I think around week 4, I didn't want the SSC to continue stretching so I had the light Closer to maximum for an extended period of time. As a result, the top buds are receding faster and really not as happy. Plants are doing good now as I reduced power. And gave some Microbes, Fulvic extract, miniscule amount of molasses, epsom salts as the soil would do well with the extra magnesium. 1 day before week 6 is where I am.

  22. 4 weeks about, the SSC and Ginger tea have settled the stretch I think. The extraction fan has moved outside the tent and temps are ranging between 26 - 31, they are still only getting water. They are very happy so i'm not stressed about the hot days just yet. Will be going away for the festive season so I will be gone for a week. When I leave I will be putting the lights down significantly, atm they are almost full blast. SSC Ginger tea DQxSlurri Short #thebeast! Dqxslurri tall Bubalicious (average) Then new Genetics! Sherb Crasher, Animal Cookies, Quattro Kush , Jelly Breath - All thanks to @SkunkPharm and GG#4 All the best for the festive season, Enjoy the time with your families

  25. I did post this before, But I wasn't happy with the PDF option, so I had capture the page. As I said a while ago, I've got my Soil Test to share, this test is on the soil that is amended along the lines of the soil recipe. Its a diverse mix but has also depleted itself of good/basic structure over the time, will be introducing some aeration of sorts. I would definitely recommend Kaya farms for the soil testing options, I waited about a month or so as there were hiccups, but I gotta commend them on their feedback and time taken to explain the issues, I have a couple things that need to be addressed, but overall quite happy with the results. This was after a re-amend. There is stats on the paste test and the extract test. Some issues I need to look at. - Soluble salts are quite high for after a harvest which he mentioned, but I did say this was after a re-amend, between 1000 - 1500 is fine. - Sodium and chloride need to be leached from the soil. - Phosphorus is not high enough on the paste test, although the extract test says abundance, can be taken with a pinch of salt and not add anymore Phos. - Calcium can be higher - Base cations magnesium and potassium too high, this might be because I add too much worm casting in my original mix - Exchangeable hydrogen very low (have not added aeration in a while or always in the least amount). - Also a small amount of extra nitrogen can be added as well. - Trace elements needing to be brought into balance. Iron, manganese and copper ... he suggested using sulfates to bring these levels up. I am still deciding. The argument is not about keeping it full organic, which it would be if these forms of trace elements are used and a test can provide proof of low levels. Because in actual fact, the main production proof of the most robust systems would be - in a field or greenhouse or living soil, the Co2 loss from the ground because overall its a more intricately connected system. Which the plants breathe in and that births higher productivity. So in essence, the more the plant can photosynthesize, via filling gaps in the chain, this being micro nutrients, the more exudates are pumped out stimulating more microbial growth. At the moment plants are in this soil, so I will not be adding any of these yet. I will be doing a test soon on the big bed and see where those levels are.

  26. I have the same Apple Jax cut which is growing beautifully. How would I know that its going to hermie apart from leaving it until it happens? They were growing great bud, I wouldn’t know until they flower and all the way until they finish. but from a basic ratio of the known hermies, I’ve made the decision based on hermie ratio on the pancakes line. Both apple Jax 67% hermies and another reputable grower reporting 80% or so, I thought not waste the time and have gaps in the grow

  27. The Jack here and Bubalicious I yielded 2 decently frosty females about revegged, should be stable for the flip next week. Jack Herer is growing nicely some of the Tomato’s and cherry tomato’s. and always lekke when it’s about time to flip time.

  29. Good morning Peoples. So its been 3 weeks about. The 2 Apples Jax phenos got me biting my fingernails, I'm going with it and hoping for the best. If they hermie, I will try spot it early and cut them down. @Totemic Sugar cookies growing very well. So is the ginger tea. A bit of Aphid or Thrips pressure but not stressed about it. Hope you enjoy the scroll. The DQxSlurris are looking good, about 3 or so weeks into flower. I'm going to finish them indoors so they get enough dark hours, those along with the 1 of each - Jack herer and Bubalicious females I found. 0 Veggie Garden going well, was late to plant the Chillis and Baby peppers but they finally made into the soil.

  30. Hello humble gardeners, I must update the new findings on the some of these plants that received the snip over the past few days, some due to being male and one because she was devoured by the dog, well most got defoliated pretty severely by this mut. The Crazy Hazey was the unfortunate victim, but did clone her. Anyways, I put up a fence and will be done with that. onto the good news. The DQ x Slurri - ended up with 2 females So they went into 2 x 20l pot to hopefully flower/ or reveg, not counting on it but made clones so its a win. of the Jack herer and Bubalicious, I think i've got 1 of each to choose from that haven't shown signs yet, others I confirm males and one has gone composting for now. Indoors the plants have started their training, and they seem to be adjusting to their new surrounding which is good, they got some microbes and water and then plain water, will be installing the blumat once they start growing properly.

  37. Small update on some of the strains I was growing and some for a second time, this time was a bit better I think, but also could have easily sparked catastrophe due to a cal/ more so mag deficiency in my soil which caused me to lose the ghost train haze (caution was thrown to the wind). Never the less the other plants snapped back well. 40. Looks great man, and for your own soil too, good for you. I also grow in my own soil, and as 420SA said, you need the lime, and my very first mix was missing this part, and it made a huge difference. Again, good for you brother

  41. Dankie my maat! Doesn't seem like many people have the time to understand plant nutrition, but why would you want to if there are so many easier ways around it. Ill be the first to admit there are way too many flaws in this soil, the potential for living soil is so huge! So ill be ever so slightly reamending these pots and growing chillies and tomato's and some other veggies outside. Mixed up a sphagnum peat moss based living soil that I'm dead eager to plant into soon.

  42. We don't see many guys having a crack at their own soil mix very often. Nice to see you giving it a go, keep going. First time round it looks to have done pretty well. Just a few suggestions from my end on your soil composition. I would suggest you ditch the vermiculite, it's not needed. You already have the perlite helping with aeration. Also I would suggest getting more calcium and magnesium in there with some dolomite lime. They use crushed oyster shell in the states but that isn't easy to find here. Your local nursery will have the lime, even builders warehouse. Did you let your soil cook for a while before using it?

  44. On week 12 today, had much fun with this grow. A few branches are laying on their side but managed to support the majority. Either ill be harvesting over the weekend or next weekend, thinking best to leave them be another week. The soil I'm using is made up of the following - Coco peat / Perlite / Vermiculite / Vermi-compost / Activated Charcoal / Alfalfa meal / Kelp meal / Soft Rock phosphate / Rock dust / Humigro / Bone meal / Seabird guano / Bat guano / Bird grit / Aloe meal / Diatomaceous earth / Mycorrhizal mix / Insect frass / Neem powder - Topped dressed a few other amendments to correct deficiencies along the way. The only issue with having more sources of nutrients in your soil is that it complicates the final balance and potential synergistic relationships you are trying to achieve with the microbes. Needless to say, I'm glad the plants/microbes were able to overcome my imbalances with a little bit TLC, and a few tweaks here and there to achieve a balance. Hope the pics are a little better, been slacking on the photo-graphics Have a champion weekend farmers!

  46. Hello hi, Here with the week 3 update. Stretch has been pretty darn good from the Frosted apricots, hopefully she boast nice terpy profiles too! The White widow didn't stretchy that much however, the internodal spacing is almost null and void, so many bud sites, and she might get taller, who knows. My plan was to reuse these pots (for years) and to total 6 x 40l come winter, then start from clone, but plans change and now I'm back at the drawing board seeing which options suit best the living soil model. Regardless, I've been reusing my soils anyway from my second grow. I've been so fortunate to meet helpful people here in Cpt from this forum that I would have never really made progress without them, plus too, our bunch of friendies really come together and look after each other. So spoilt with the vast genetics I'm terribly back-logged with already, I'm going to do my best to work through them nicely. Strains that I want to grow and re-grow 2021 ---------------------------------------------- Ghost Train Haze #1 - Rare Dankness Spumoni - Plug Seedbank Zurple Punch - In House genetics Slurricane - In House genetics Bunicorn - In House genetics Sugarcane - In House genetics Platinum Gorilla - In House genetics Orange Kush Cake - Ethos White wedding rbx - Ethos Strawberry fields - DNA genetics OG Kush - Bagseed All Gas OG - Humboldt SeedCo Tortoni - Totemic Jack Herer - Unknown Some of these strains are still yet to crack a taproot so I might only see them later in the year.
