Update DS finally pushing pistils only beginning of week 5! Note to self: try to not grow the stretchiest of strains right next to the most compact of strains without taking necessary measurments now I got the most uneven canopy ever and it looks bad, the Blueberry Hashplant is gona finish sooner than the Deluxe Sugarcane, but it's right at the back and the DS in front is creating a wall blocking the BHP in, harvest time gona be a bit of a struggle. they're under a net too fuk4 points

Goodmorning, hope all is well and in good health! These ladies been living on nothing but 500ml clean water every second day, there should be more than enough food in the soil to not have to add nutrients, I am trying to keep them from growing too much as my flower tent still has its ways to go! still have a few spots on the leaves here and there, only thing I did that was out of the ordinary, I added some garden phosphate to the soil before transplanting so that's my main suspect at the moment. Hi All, Hoping to medicate my Ulcerative Colitis (chronic for 17 years) by using THC/CBD. My end goal is to hopefully do away with the chronic medication especially due to all the long term side effects. Purchased the AfricanPure CBD oil but I feel it's not really helping or effective. It also seems to be very oily. Due to this awesome forum I found the Elixir Extract website and just purchased oils from them. Wish I'd found them sooner to be honest (before purchasing the AfricanPure and wasting money). I am also hoping to start my own grows soon as well. So yeah, this is the start of my journey and I am grateful for this forum and really excited to be part of this wonderful community!1 point

@Bay SeedsStrawberry Vostok F2 Autoflower. 3 plants from 5 seeds. First casualty grew upside down. Couldn't save it. Second casualty I just killed. Don't ask. So I'd say germination rate 100%. Plants going on 2 weeks old now and looking healthy.1 point

Me too. I went through a year of harvests using it, now seeing what it's like without it.1 point

Nah, no negatives for the plants. If you want clean and sparkly, stay away from organic stuff. The amino mix I use has molasses in it and not even sure what else, but that is the source of the slimy stuff. Silica you need to be careful with. Too much can cause lockout issues and adding it in the incorrect order can cause nutes to precipitate out of solution which makes it unavailable to the plants. I have now stopped using silica again.1 point

Wait a bit to confirm. I recently (within the last week) had a plant which I was quite sure was a male and it looked like a male and then I noticed a pistil. I was pleasantly surprised, always give it a bit more time to make 100% sure. Seeds are not cheap.1 point
-
The Amino mix I use, if added to a res with air stones turns to a weird sludge / gel, similar to a kombucha scoby, in particular around the air stone. Not sure whether it is a good or bad thing, however it will clog pipes on automatic watering systems and also stops your airstones from working properly. You need to peel that stuff off the airstones and then try clean it up still.1 point

@SkunkPharm I think then also the plant would have been more apt to dealing with the light stress, The ginger tea was very chilled in them rays.1 point
-
I like it, very fast growing plant, I can think of a few ways to grow it better. The plant needs more magnesium than other plants. I have been feeding since week 10, did small amounts of molasses, microbes, aminos, Epsom's and fulvic.1 point

Ola growers, all the babies are up in the propagation station and I do not think they will be stretching too much for the light which is amazing as it buys me sometime. I'm quite impressed with these LED tubes. They are fitting the purpose very well.1 point

Not much to update here on week 10, been a slow 2 weeks, but cant blame the plants, its been hot and yucky lately. The Ginger tea is finishing up nicely, might get the chop sooner and SSC slower behind, but is a huge plant and is still maintaining good health, so I don't have a reason to cut her yet. Will probably let them go another week or 21 point

New on the menu, we have… @SkunkPharm Boomhuys strains - Wilson zero (Oni seeds) x Lotus head (Bodhi seeds) - Wilson zero (Oni seeds) x Slurricane (In-house genetics) @Totemic - Sugar Widow (Deluxe sugar cane x white widow) As always, excited for these. Let’s see what happens1 point

Better update on week 8, almost at the finish line, just been getting water then the dqxslurri small yielded 50g and the tall yielded 76, will drop a smoke report in the coming weeks1 point
-
So the the dqxslurris are at the end, they getting chopped on Saturday morning. I'm super chuffed with the bulky pheno, she is strong! Abit of musky sour coming from her, the tall pheno has almost done the same thing in terms of aroma, very similar. The mother clone I took from her around 2 weeks in is doing well, she might go into the 100l pot outside. then the Roma tomato's have been removed as they had blossom and rot, under watering would be the cause I suspect, will try be on top of it more. So there is 2 Cherry tomato plants and 3 in background.1 point
-
Week 3 done. Strawberry sugar cookies is a stretcher of note, broke some of the lanky branches to manage the canopy better. Ginger tea is well behind, but she will be taken care off.1 point
-
Dos veggies are coming along nicely. Ended up removing one of the cherry tomato plants for space. Cayenne chillis and the baby peppers need some tlc. Tomato's are actually fruits1 point
-
Update, dqxslurri got a small Defol, the short pheno is standing out nicely. Smelling fine, quite similar to slurri, some sweet some gas. Will be flipping the bed Tuesday night.1 point

I have the same Apple Jax cut which is growing beautifully. How would I know that its going to hermie apart from leaving it until it happens? They were growing great bud, I wouldn’t know until they flower and all the way until they finish. but from a basic ratio of the known hermies, I’ve made the decision based on hermie ratio on the pancakes line. Both apple Jax 67% hermies and another reputable grower reporting 80% or so, I thought not waste the time and have gaps in the grow1 point

Small update, looks like we vegging abit longer for the strawberry sugar cookies (on top) and the ginger tea ( below) the apple Jax got the chop. Not keen on dealing with hermies and it’s most likely the case the dqslurri are doing well, abit slower than usual but I think the hours aren’t doing them any good. So they will be inside with the Jack herer and bubalicious. Going on 12hours today1 point
-
The Jack here and Bubalicious I yielded 2 decently frosty females about revegged, should be stable for the flip next week. Jack Herer is growing nicely some of the Tomato’s and cherry tomato’s. and always lekke when it’s about time to flip time.1 point

Good morning Peoples. So its been 3 weeks about. The 2 Apples Jax phenos got me biting my fingernails, I'm going with it and hoping for the best. If they hermie, I will try spot it early and cut them down. @Totemic Sugar cookies growing very well. So is the ginger tea. A bit of Aphid or Thrips pressure but not stressed about it. Hope you enjoy the scroll. The DQxSlurris are looking good, about 3 or so weeks into flower. I'm going to finish them indoors so they get enough dark hours, those along with the 1 of each - Jack herer and Bubalicious females I found. 0 Veggie Garden going well, was late to plant the Chillis and Baby peppers but they finally made into the soil.1 point

Whookay, no going back now. So as per the last bit of information the 4 plants in the tent now are the ones i'm most happy about in-terms of structure. The others didn't really make the cut. Crazy Hazey looks more like crazy indica. Anyways both Apple Jax phenos looking very similar and prominent, Nice and tight nodes but also grabbing some height for now. Starting to push out quite a few leaflets. Ginger tea doing the same, took her a while to get happy but she doing okay. Then the sugar cookies, this plant is growing exactly like the delux sugarcane, only plant showing magnesium deficiencies just like sugarcane, also very similar leaf and plant structure. They will live out the rest of their life in this 65gallon bed, its on the second round now and been re-amended via a very careful and calculated thumb suck. Here is Crazy Indica The Jack Herers and Bubalicious regulars received some water and must face the great outdoors now until I can sex them. This is the furthest i've gotten with any other plants other than cannabis so don't laugh lol, Roma Jam tomatos, Cherry tomatoes, Long Cayenne peppers and baby peppers.1 point

Curious to see how the JH's turn out! One of my all time favourite strains to grow.1 point

Small update on some of the strains I was growing and some for a second time, this time was a bit better I think, but also could have easily sparked catastrophe due to a cal/ more so mag deficiency in my soil which caused me to lose the ghost train haze (caution was thrown to the wind). Never the less the other plants snapped back well. White Wedding - Ethos Strawberry fields (one got chopped up yesterday waiting for this one to show signs) Spumoni Slurricane Blunicorn (outside testing the new soil )1 point

Congrats on a working soil mix, those buds look delicious. Takes time, effort and knowledge to build a good living soil, but the rewards at the end of the day make it worthwhile.1 point

Hi @420SA Yes this was the first soil I mixed, its about 8 months old. Its remnants of my soil from July 2020. The soil has been reamended over time by feel which is completely the wrong way to go about it, Soil testing is a must in future. I couldn't agree with you more, I thought I'd be getting some of the same effect from the grit but not nearly as available as dolomite/limestone in the medium. Yes I cook the soil for about 1 1/2 months.1 point
-
Dankie my maat! Doesn't seem like many people have the time to understand plant nutrition, but why would you want to if there are so many easier ways around it. Ill be the first to admit there are way too many flaws in this soil, the potential for living soil is so huge! So ill be ever so slightly reamending these pots and growing chillies and tomato's and some other veggies outside. Mixed up a sphagnum peat moss based living soil that I'm dead eager to plant into soon.1 point

We don't see many guys having a crack at their own soil mix very often. Nice to see you giving it a go, keep going. First time round it looks to have done pretty well. Just a few suggestions from my end on your soil composition. I would suggest you ditch the vermiculite, it's not needed. You already have the perlite helping with aeration. Also I would suggest getting more calcium and magnesium in there with some dolomite lime. They use crushed oyster shell in the states but that isn't easy to find here. Your local nursery will have the lime, even builders warehouse. Did you let your soil cook for a while before using it?1 point

Welldone on your succesfull soil build, it's not as easy as some may think. Looks like some noice weight on those buds Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk1 point

On week 12 today, had much fun with this grow. A few branches are laying on their side but managed to support the majority. Either ill be harvesting over the weekend or next weekend, thinking best to leave them be another week. The soil I'm using is made up of the following - Coco peat / Perlite / Vermiculite / Vermi-compost / Activated Charcoal / Alfalfa meal / Kelp meal / Soft Rock phosphate / Rock dust / Humigro / Bone meal / Seabird guano / Bat guano / Bird grit / Aloe meal / Diatomaceous earth / Mycorrhizal mix / Insect frass / Neem powder - Topped dressed a few other amendments to correct deficiencies along the way. The only issue with having more sources of nutrients in your soil is that it complicates the final balance and potential synergistic relationships you are trying to achieve with the microbes. Needless to say, I'm glad the plants/microbes were able to overcome my imbalances with a little bit TLC, and a few tweaks here and there to achieve a balance. Hope the pics are a little better, been slacking on the photo-graphics Have a champion weekend farmers!1 point
