  3. I had some problems with my plants, the sun was burning them to hell and a grass hopper killed two of the seedlings. I bought a cheapo light from takealot and put them in under the stairs with a 120mm PC case fan, they are doing a lot better now and growing like crazy, I’ll tell the SO I want a tent and some odds and ends for my birthday this year. I think for now my setup is working fine. Few things I learned is to give them less water, plant the seeds deeper next time and the smell is quite pungent even if they are still small. I still need to figure out how many males and females I have and get rid of the males, because I doubt they are fem seeds.

  4. So I tried a space bucket, got disalusioned so quickly. Anyway looking at a tent 600 x 600 x1400. With a Samsung 110w led. Would this give decent results ?

  5. This wsvf1 auto male got pulled today on day 17 from seed on 18/6. Wild dwarf auto from bulk seed bank crossed with SVF1 auto. I really want to fill a field with these somewhere and just leave them alone to reproduce in isolation. Anyone on a farm in the middle of nowhere?

  6. Okay so 2 weeks and 2 days later, 2 days more than I intended letting the soil rest. But to be very honest, this peat mix is very sponge like not super crumby but hold very well. It’s a nice mix I think. you will see I thoughtfully labled the experiment plants somewhat My old soil felt abit more sandier and heavier as I would imagine. Not 100 percent happy with the structure when it when in, But once the I had watered it. The surface was quite similar. Soft and crumby too.holding nice chunks. Still expect the control plants to react better regardless of not feeding nutes initially. Other soil could start abit slower Flower will start next week. I will feed the nutes immediately at 12/12 at 1/4 dose control plants are just above to the right.

  7. Thanks for info Grass Bass. It's definitely something to consider!. Perhaps 2 in the ground and 3 in pots utilizing my existing setup. I like alternatives just in case there's a problem with either grow!. My forest friend grows in a large tunnel. No worries for heavy rain but shit does it get hot in there sometimes!. Life itself is an experiment.... Have a groovy day.....

  8. I think it's the stability of the weather more than anything!. I'm still trying of ways to protect from the HEAVY downpours we get. It doesn't happen often but I HATE having to cover with a Tarpaulin. Already Hermes started in 3 plants (bummer). They have been dumped . Suggest you get weather app for checking temps/humidity down in this neck of the woods. Information is quite accurate. Temps are coming down now and humidity looks reasonable for flowering (around 45%). Loads of mistakes but gaining knowledge. I 'pinched' 2 plants above only the 4th node and it shows how much more green I could have had if it had been pinched above 5th or 6th node!. As you can see, my posts are spasmodic at best. Will update in around a week. I have another experiment to try. I've never scrogged before so still learning. If the plants had been started earlier and I had topped/pinched them correctly I think the net would have been substantially filled with more green. Just had Solar fitted to house and should have around 500W extra per hour for small indoor grow in addition to existing outdoor one. That will be interesting!. Anyhow, have a lekker Sunday and I'll post update soon....ish.

  10. In those small pots, that did very well! What strains were in what soil again?

  11. I'm relearning as I go, I've struggled with high Temps and trying out new nutes and a new grow light, I'm still hoping she'll fatten up some. I do scrog my autos if you setup early enough you can get a good spread going before they flower

  13. hmmm.... let's see. this would be my opinion, If you wana use the light for veg and bloom you could add additional blue and far red diodes, but then it would be easier running them off their own drivers then you can switch between the two, so during veg you only use blue and during flower you only using the far red. I would get the 4000K strips, in that case, to not be veg or bloom specific. if you wana use the plant just for veg don't worry about anything. I was gona suggest additional blue diodes, but rather configure the light with only 5000k and up so it's natural blue/white. if you wana use the light for just flower you go for the 3000k strips and add far red diodes only, no blue.

  14. I think those cheap burple lights with the veg & bloom switches would get the job done, you might have to run them full spectrum but they work well for clones and seedlings and somewhat for veg aswel. Hardly any heat. T8s are always a good option. I have a similar setup using the old burples and when i move them into the flower room i just let them veg for anther 2 weeks under the powerful lights just to give them abit of size before flipping.

  15. Bookmarked! Do you think its worth mixing them with some LEDs in the blue spectrum and IR LEDs ?

  16. Anyone looking for 250l grow bags, with pallets on castors? Total cost 450 for bags, 1250 for the poly plastic pallets on castors. You can have both sets for 500 collection in CPT is the only option

  17. Niiice that looks great, I don't think it even needs a fan! bummer that it only pulls 27watts! get these strips!!!! https://www.digikey.co.za/en/products/detail/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SI-B8V101560US/7562243 you'll need this driver, https://www.digikey.co.za/en/products/detail/mean-well-usa-inc/HLG-320H-24B/7704033 if you planning on grouping them all together in the old school quantum board fashion, you'll need a heatsink and possibly a fan and you have to mount the driver away from the strips to keep the everything as cool as possible. alternatively you could get aluminium T-strip and build a bar style light then you don't need a fan or heatsink, and the T-strip is enough space between the strips and driver so you mount the driver right on the back.

  18. Load shedding in the middle of the day... Good time to do some cleaning. I do love the new white tent, but the base is a bugger to keep clean. Luckily it's removable. All good. Note; despite using autopots and autopot trays, I'm not using their irrigation system, preferring to water by hand every 2nd day. I've had enough floods that I'm wary of automatic irrigation. View through the 'green' window in the tent. Don't really see the point.
