  2. Lots to update! I have switched my lighting schedule around in order to have my lights-on during the day instead of at night. Our house has gotten a solar power upgrade recently so I'd like to take advantage of that to offset the electricity costs. I can accommodate the additional heat during the day now so it's a win. I have cleaned up the bottoms of the ZxP that went in last week and I have also switched the reservoir tap on, so auto feeding from here on. While I was at it, I also put the Wedding Cake plants into the flower tent after a preventative treatment of spinosad. They will be top fed for a week then the reservoir will be put on for them as well. Veg tent is looking kinda empty now! I will take the Wedding Cake clones in a week after they have settled in the flower tent for a bit. I have finally finished trimming all the ZxP lower branches from the drying tent and have added them to the total along with the tops. The total for the last batch of ZxP was 257g. So the ZxP harvests in order have been 87g -> 136g -> 257g. All 6 plants each. I think that's progress! Although the yield has increased, I have a mega bunch of popcorn nugs, not including the tiny nugs I just decided to throw into the trim bin for making extracts. I would like to work towards developing the buds more independently on each plant and have fewer lower branches. I think my scrog net game has also improved somewhat as well! We will have to wait until the big 'ol flops start flopping to test it out.

  3. Hey all. Been keeping this one off the forum for reasons of laziness, so no excuse so here we go. Mid november got a “Pineapple Express” baby from a local gromie that had to move and didn’t have space. Threw it in the garden, too dressed some elemental blend and started the pray for fem. Over the next couple of months she settled and started exploding. Then in late January the good news arrived. It was a female So in accordance with nature and the season she is budding into the biggest plant I have grown by far. And the stacking is just going and going and going. Here is a shot in the morning sun today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. I’ll second growopz. Great service and the best priced budget lights. Did this under a QB75 last year, with a little help from 4 x 12W daylight mica globes. Got a 120W for R2500 from him the other day to complete the veg/auto section above this My space is effectively 2x4 tent size. The 120 length wise fits perfectly

  5. Yip. Praxis Glass is blowing custom glass prizes. Spent R10k on them. And there's whatever the sponsors chip in. Also have glass trophies. May add a cash prize for the winner, but I don't want to promise anything yet.

  6. @AfrikaansePotkop when it comes to lights there are actually more options to choose from than with tents. although the measurement and advertisement of Watts is not the best indication of "grow light performance" especially when talking about LEDs, you can kinda use it to guide you. whatever tent you get, just remember for every square foot (30.5cm) you want about 30watts of light. if you going with a 1mx1m tent you get roughly 3ftx3ft. X = 30Watts/square foot × (3ftx3ft) = 30W/SQF x 9ft = 270Watts - you'll need atleast this much for your 1mx1m tent. you could go up to 300Watts. the reason why I am saying this: https://ledgardener.com/diy-led-strip-build-designs-samsung-bridgelux/ Rather than buying two shitty lights of around 100w, which would still be insufficient, rather buy something legit that you won't have to upgrade after your first grow and struggle to sell because it's of little to no value, saving you the headache, the school fees and a whole bunch of your time.

  7. Hey guys. Things are looking very different but in a good way. Jacky White: She ia coming along nicely, although I am starting to doubt the Jacky White part. I took seeds out of the Jacky White bud and I am now seeing, which I believe, is a very strong Royal Banner influence. But lets see how she ends up. Blue Kush Berry: The buds are rock hard, fat and frosty. All the trichomes is milky and some pistils is still white. I'm guessing she is about ready, maybe a week Pineapple Chunk : She took her time to start flowering, but at last decided to join the others. As she progresses I will go into detail more. The bottom branches was removed for me by the wind and im guessing a dog but I needed to clean the bottom up anyways Banner Biscuits This one is weird this season. One part of the plant started flowering way earlier than the rest. Now the back or front depending where you stand is almost finished whereas the rest is still coming along. But nonetheless she is smelly as fuck and not to mention the stickyness,... Bruce Banner: Very sturdy plant and the flowering is beautiful. Its just solid bud from top to bottom. Soooo glad I took cuttings of this one. Her trichome production is still in the early process but that's normal. Slurricane Cheese She has a smell that I cant place. Its a good stinky, musky smell and something else I cant place. Buds is also rock hard and all the trichomes is milky. She started pushing some more white pistils so I'm waiting on that and also some more trichome change then its harvesting And thats it for the Therapy Garden for now...

  11. Making my own light like in the link you suggested could really save me a lot of money. I'll definitely look into making my own light instead of buying. Thanks for the advice!

  16. Attatched is a two images of the biggest nug from my first harvest. The plant was barely 40cm tall and had a LOT of stress as I didnt really plan ahead when growing it. The other two imgaes is of a bud site on my more successful outdoor plant. Really proud of this one. Just sharing

  17. You really have beautiful plants! My one outdoor is also about at the same stage of flower as your pineapple chunk. Looks similar at the bud sites as yours. Do you feed them anything extra or just water them and hope for the best?

  19. Yeah the light is really taking up a lot of my budget... I'll stay away from takealot then and see if I can invest a bit more in the light to ensure it works good for 2- 3 plants. The 2nd hand market really is great, and yeah, as you said, it'll save me money. I have seen quite a few nice listings, will see if I can share a few on the forum to discuss with people. The nutes I'll have to learn a bit more about yeah... Well currently I am just using organic potting soil, but when I get the indoor setup, I am more than willing to invest in better mediums and see what works best for me. As this will be my first ever indoor, I'm willing to experiment and learn with different mediums. Thank you for you reply!

  20. My 2c, maak daarmee wat jy wil You are going to want to upgrade somewhere in the future.. 99% of people do. I would rather spend a little more now and have a setup that can be upgraded somewhat. For lighting, look at GrowOpz, he has decent affordable options. If those line items in your quote is ex VAT (too lazy to add them up) and I suspect they are then the price of that light is actually R2500.. for R3000 you could get two 75w lights from him, giving you more light and flexibility as well as the ability to save on electricity when plants are small. Plus, if one fails you atleast have something to tie you over till the warranty is sorted. When it comes to extractor fans, that one will probably do but I prefer running a larger fan at slower speeds.. 150mm minimum.. much better on the noise level and puts you in position to easily upgrade or turn up extraction when needed (especially during late flower). I think theire is a website like fans.co.za or something that does not add the mark-up that grow shops do. Lastly, 80 x 80 is super small. Something bigger would offer so much more flexibility. In an 80 x 80 one or two plants max. I know that all of the above is going to push up costs.. but in the long run you will not regret it. A slightly larger investment now will save you money down the line. And as Martin7381 said, see what you can find in the 2nd hand market.. people often sell tents and other gear for dirt cheap. If you are patient you will be rewarded. Just be careful of buying lights in the 2nd hand market. You have no idea how hard they were driven and generally will not enjoy a warranty.

  21. The 60 x 60 tent is quite short at 1.4m and I feel the height is going to cause headaches. Perhaps an 80 x 80 which has a height of 1.8m or 2m would be better and make your life a bit easier.

  24. I think the TS600 would work fine in your 0.6x0.6 tent. Even if you got the 120W QB you probably would have wanted to run it at 100W anyways. The housing of the TS600 basically acts as a heatsink on it's own. If someone who has actually owned this LED can comment, that'd be great, but on paper it seems fine to me.

  25. These babies are all cured up with 1 of 3 entirely smoked . I wanted to thank all who took their time to share their wisdom with me on this grow. Without you guys I would definitely not have made it to harvest! The plants came out beautifully, in my opinion, with really great terps and flavour. Going from smoking outdoor and greenhouse for the last 10 years to smoking straight indoor for the last 3 months has been something to get used to, the high is quite intense if not careful haha I tried growing some Auto's after this, terrible failure. Chopped those down in Feb and was gifted 4 plants already in veg. They've just recently been flipped, will start up another diary, so watch out for that Thought I'd drop some of the final pics from chop day and a picture of some of the end product.
