That LED will get super hot, there does not appear to be any passive heatsinks and the driver sits on top of the LED too which is generally avoided with quantum boards. If you got R4300 to spend, I'd rather get this 240W Quantum Board from @Light It Up for R4250 Here is a bud grown under this LED, mmmm.. tasty..4 points

I have finished the second step in the training process. Today I setup the initial LST to just start flattening the canopy. Next step is to wait for 5/6 branches to develop on each stem then top after the 4th. The manifold should be roughly setup by then and I should also be running through the Autopots by then as well. Right now since transplant I have been lightly watering from the tops, no runoff. There is one plant showing a small amount of stress on one fan leaf, but that leaf will anyways be pruned when the manifold shape is completed. Before After4 points

Hi everyone, I’m a complete novice and a friend and I are going to attempt to grow some autos outdoors, most likely on my flat garage roof in pretty much full sun. I aim to put them up there from say week 3 onward when the plants are a little bit stronger and after some initial training to minimise any chance of breakage in the wind. All the seeds were obtained from Nirvanashop and are the following strains: 1x Blue Cheese, 1x Northern Lights, 1x Blue Mystic, 1x Blueberry Kush. My understanding is that it isn’t ideal to grow at this time of year, but should be possible given their genetic resilience to colder weather. Also, after much research I’ve compiled what I consider to be a reasonably good shopping list with all the bits I will likely need, which is as follows: Garden wire for training, microscope for trichome evaluation (most likely the kind that clips onto an iPhone), 4x 10-15l Material Pots, set of pruning shear for some light defoliation at the flowering stage, 2x bags Organisoilux (60l, so enough for all 4 plants), clay pebbles for added drainage, PH meter, PH correction liquid, Cannabiz Liquicompost for growth and Cannabiz Biophos Repro for flowering (a grower friend reccommended this to me). Am I insane or do I have a chance of succeeding? What hurdles am I likely to encounter? As a first time grower I’m going to try and keep it simple and don’t want to micro manage every part of the grow, but I would like to at least give these plants a fighting chance. I am not interested in super high yields as I smoke very little, but I am interested in healthy plants that yield good quality buds. Any advice welcome, please be gentle! Thanks, D3 points

Autos in 10l pots could get to about 40-70cm tall depending on allot of things. Type of sun they get. Wind plays a big factor.the soil medium. The are full of Shit little plants. Good luck.3 points

I don’t think it is what they it say it is. That looks like a 240w light at best. I think you can source an local light at that price.3 points

If you run into problems give me a shout. I have @Bay Seeds auto seeds, a mixed bunch that I'm growing hybrid (outdoor during the day, under lights during the night) then in a makeshift greenhouse this winter. Learning a bit more about the plant then summer I'll be testing some of his [emoji91] again. So if things don't work out first attempt let's see how some @Bay Seeds beans do on a garage roof. Strawberry Cheesecake, Lemon Larry OG or a mix of the two. So a nice lucky packet. These two are at about 90 days. Shout out if you need. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk2 points

Goodluck! All should work well, give it a go, dig into the threads for information, and good ol Google for any need to knows post some pics and we can also give some pointers where possible. first you want to soak some seeds, or sow straight, I recommend soaking for 12 hours in plain water that’s been sitting for atleast a day. Then prep the soil, water it with about 5 - 10%, should get you through to past seedling stage, quite easily, orgasoil lux will most likely need to be watered thoroughly, go on the 15 - 20 percent actually; let it sit for a week in some sun. Maybe plant some companion plants, then plant a week - week and half later, will make for a better environment for the autos. then don’t feed that soil for a good 4-5 weeks plant with mycorrhizal fungi2 points

I have NO IDEA what I'm doing! More interested in the process than the actual product, to be honest. It seems like a fun thing to do. But yes, from what I've read the general consensus seems to be around the 10l mark. I am considering building some sort of light structure, or getting a small greenhouse from Takealot, but then it will be visible from pretty much everywhere. I would like to keep it relatively inconspicuous. Thanks, same to you.2 points

Hey bud. Running an auto outdoor this winter myself. Not ideal where I am, misty mornings till 10am, temps down to 4 overnight but like you, why not grow [emoji16] Unless you know what you doing stick to 10l pots. I tried 20l and every time the plant was smaller than the 10l. Don't ask why, suppose that's how you learn about auto's. I've also made a plan greenhouse sort of thing to protect them at night and the rain. Oh. If you think you have a sneeze coming on don't even look at your plants, they will stunt their growth just to piss you off. I have had more success than deaths though and 90 days from seed to harvest I'll keep on trying. Good luck. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk2 points

I checked out the link and the driver looks like it uses a normal power lead (not sure of the voltage but they are generally 120v-250v) The price is good for a 420w but remember if anything goes wrong it's not that easy to return it.2 points

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I live in CT near the coast so the climate here is, generally speaking anyway, more agreeable during the winter than in JHB. Can get very windy though... It does get cold, but rarely below 7 degrees or so and even then it's only early mornings. D P.S. some nice grows on your Instagram!2 points

I also often have this happen, that I download games and when I get bored I delete them. The only game I play for a long time and did not delete it is a soccer game Sorare. It is easy to use and here you have to collect player cards. With Sorare Bonus I got rare cards and now often start winning. By the way this game is based on the cryptocurrency blockchain Etherium.2 points

this indoor flower cycle kicked off kinda wack, I top dressed the soil with elemental blend right when I flipped them to 12/12, within a few days they showed a very positive reaction and started stretching and didn't wana stop untill very late. the BBHP took 13 week, the outdoor one was much quicker with only 9 weeks, but it was also a much smaller plant. the Sugarcane inside the tent only started making pistils during week 6 of 12/12, not sure if it was the elemental blend, still scratching my head on this one a bit. checked for light leaks and all that, everything is fine... only thing I could point out was how they just never stopped stretching, I think that was the nutrients2 points

With autos my advise is to never overwater, use plenty of perlite, dont feed plants until they show a need or a ''slight fade'' in color. No.1 rule, be sure the soil is not hot. A ppm meter costs R200 and will save your grow.1 point

The feminized seeds are ready bud, as soon as its springtime ill send you a ton of the fem cheese autos to run outdoors. Its gonna be awesome.1 point

Yeah the sexual maturity is the thing, wonder whether it makes a difference running regs vs fems- do regs mature faster? I've got regs running now - not thinking of flipping too fash though Sent from my SM-A528B using Tapatalk1 point

Hi all. Been shopping around for a few things and while I was on Amazon came across this light. Currently 50% off and offering an 80 dollar coupon. essentially a 420w light for R4300 i m ready to pull the trigger but was curious if I missed anything. Will the power connection be ok or would I need an inverter ? https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Diodes-Dimmable-Spectrum-Indoor/dp/B09G66W73D1 point

I thought it would be worth a conversation. @PsyCLown made a good point and said that they don’t actually mention the diodes anywhere. Seems like a risk too big for me.1 point

Hey man ! Well it's not impossible to grow in winter you should understand autos can be a pain in the ass and depending on where you stay you'll have to take the temp drops and frost into consideration. I stay in Gauteng and I can grow the whole year as long as I've got frost covers over my plants during winter - I only grow photoperiods in winter though.1 point

The Witcher games are amazing ! Man I downloaded the Epic stores because they give away free games each month, they having some event/sale at the moment and so far I picked up BioShock: The collection and Borderlands 31 point

Recently finished The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2, what a long ass games they were then started Horizon Zero Dawn, think I'm like halfway but got bored. I'll finish it eventually. I try not to buy games when I'm busy with one or two but Steam specials get so good sometimes that I just have to buy. One of those games was The Outer Worlds which I have been playing the most at the moment, but I'm reaching that same boredom point. The most hours I've clocked on games is usually on indie games such as Oxygen Not Included and Rimworld, but I've deleted these games because they don't really have endings and are more sandbox games that just suck hours away from your day, so I felt I needed to stop. I used to mine Bitcoin when it was profitable but now I just have a balling gaming PC, so win-win I guess. Would be cool if my crypto wallet weren't so in the dumps. To the moon?1 point

Good day people of 420sa ! So I recently bought a pack of Bodhi seeds and this isn't really a breeding project - more of seed making. Before we begin though please note I am not a breeder by any means, I'm a hobbyist grower that does some pollen chucking to make my own seeds and preserve genetics from packs I've purchased/acquired. Say what you want - but I don't put my seeds out there or charge people money for them if they really keen to try it out, I try my utmost best to handle my pollen with care and be respectful of other people in my area but hey I'm sure we've all had a season just growing females outdoors and finding seeds in them. I'm sure depending where you stay it might even happen to your indoor plants sometimes. Hope ya'll enjoy this one1 point

Awehhh gardeners of the future! We still outdoors and have just cut down small baby plants, not a good reflection of these genetics but now running these cuts about revegged. Let’s see if they are anything to go by, at the moment I’m neither here nor there about them, but still got seeds, let’s see how go on a proper run. pictured in the tent, crepes by lit farms, lotus head x Wilson, Wilson x slurri, Gg#4 (not happy) that’s the death corner Lekke weekend ahead1 point

Another half ass update, it’s just so wet outside, all day long so I really am quite done with these plants lol but here goes Some of the plants are close to done, other are really taking long, so I may harvest what I can this weekend or next and update on the bud I get out, just to note the experiment plant of the gorilla glue, is in limbo land and I’m sure she will stay like that for a good forever, so I’m also just gona composting her, unfortunate but ya, the 2 sugar widows coming out nicely1 point

Hello 420sa members, Sunday is always a good day for a small bit of gardening, my garden is a wreck at the moment, but we are still kicking, some updates on the plants, I think they are flowering better here, let’s see how it goes. the experiment plant of the Gg#4 clone is setting up for its second flower and I couldn’t leave it in its 10l pot as I would certainly run into issues, so I gave her the 40l of used soil well depleted, and will still be feeding, now more aggressively, they both will it 1ml p/L today. Gg#4 experiment plant, then cut off all the lady bits and topped her so let’s see how that does for her Gg#4 control buds sugar widow control, starting to make her way into flowering, nice stack on this plants, nice leaves Sugar widow control , getting some frost very similar Structure also stacks very well, these plants are the type I’d definitely want to grow again @Totemic and pm is running wild in these parts but we treating as we go and they are surviving. Yielded a Gg#4 experiment tester, this one with nutes, let’s see how she smokes, I will be honest1 point

We are getting really close to having retail products that are just as good and as cost efficient as going DIY. For a long time, you had to build your own QB then guys like @Light It Up came along to essentially take the same DIY formula but get the parts for you and basically have it ready setup for you. One really big consideration I keep in mind with LEDs is what happens when you hit your rated 50000 hours of use, what are you going to do? Are you going to replace your entire LED fixture? Can you replace the diodes alone? I know for a fact that the QB panels I use you can easily remove the QB288 board with the diodes on it and just simply replace it. They aren't even grossly expensive, the most expensive parts of the QB is the heatsink and then the driver, both of which you can keep. So when it comes to the new Lumii LED, and let's throw in that GIB lighting LED as well, can the diodes easily be replaced at end of life? I gave it a serious consideration as I needed to recently purchase lights for a 1.2x1.2 tent and I ended up getting two 240W QBs for R6k1 point

Here we are on week 3 One control plant is massive and the other one has been topped of her soul, then both experiment plants are growing fire1 point

I found as I got older and having less time to spend hours on games I became less interested in story modes and it became more about playing online with friends and having fun in the short time. Before my girlfriend and I moved in together we used to play battle royals almost every night during the week.1 point
