Aweh growmies, hope all are doing well. Pushed the season and the plants to their limits well into our 'winter' on the north coast. Kinda like winter for stress testing new crosses outdoors btw. (Sunset baby) Seedsman Purple Bud x Swazi Gold cross is bringing some lekker stuff. Dank, pungent and skunky despite the season and the shite weather, she earned a spot for the summer line-up... (Sweet & Frosty)An impromto White Widow x Mango Kush cross impressed with her skunky, sweet and frosty flowers, I'll definitely run her again this coming summer. Latest outdoor batch, flowers becoming fit for consumption. Trying our hand at i door mothers and clones for testing and feminization etc. Thanks @highchome once again for the CA's, still running clones... Enjoying this hobbby to the max.... Cheers.

Was busy with the tent, so i made some pictures ^^ so far all manageable.. but fucks up my back Nirvana seem to have a special so I create the links to their page if interested White Widow's still strong flowering but the end is also coming.. 1-3 weeks out (some phenos are clearly faster done). Blue Dream's (not on sale) are starting to also do their thing.. still far out, 3-4 weeks. Blue Cheese now the tallest plants (one ^^), same as the Blue Dream, 3-4 weeks out. The WW's are very sexy for a crowded tent grow (25 per 1.2x1.2 rather easy). I would space the GSC, Blue Dream and Blue Cheese a bit more... 16 per 1.2x1.2 the next time I should do something like that ^^ and if you want to try.. think into your climate control first.. really.. do that before you plant the seeds ^^ you need a lot of air shifting inside that growth. My fellow florists, Tis the season to be trimming.... These Fruitpunch ladies brought the goods, is pure joy watching something you created come to full flower. The slight variations between the f2 and f5 gen are interesting, but not totally unexpected/undesirable. Most notably....very little budrot/wpm and very little loss due to this effing fusarium. Still couldnt get rid of it completely but at least we didnt lose whole plants like last year.

Yeah, monos and dubtubs seem the way to go eventually yieldwise, but they have their risks too. Fungii are awesome, but growing them has a lekker steep learning curve.... Cheers

Going to do 2nd round pf-tek with brf today, have a few LC syringes(Pesa and wavycap from sporeemporium) with some leftovers from the 1st round(10days no visible myc) suspect enviromental conditions were fluctuating too much as I tried to dial it in. At least no visible contam so believe my sterile technique is good. Now managing stable temps 20-22 and 95%rh as I'm using the garage, not sure if airflow FAE will be adaquate but can adjust if neccesary. Still reading a lot regarding this new endeavour, would like to get some sporeprints, then go mono tub route. Found lots of updated info on 'shroomery' wrt pf tek, agar, monos, substrates etc. Set the bar high it seems....Want to eventually be able to grow the cubensis and woodloving shrooms indoors.

yeah do that and see how it goes, I am not completely sure how it will effect the second flush or even if that's the problem, but you should soak the cake beteween flushes. go for 36hrs and put something ontop of so it's submerged

1.Next batch of clones busy rooting-(Bluecheese and Purplebud x Swazi)Will be selecting the strongest pair of each strain attempting to create some feminized seeds using STS. 2-3. Normally veg clones for 4-6weeks depending on how they respond. Few of the clones don't like the soilmix, got some clawing (suspect N tox) seems its too strong for some of the girls. Will add 50% coco to the mix and see how the fare. Also fighting some thrips and whitefly...pita. 4. Our diy drying racks working like a charm.

Evening greenfingers, Hope the hands and fingers are holding up, trimjail is not funny and good trimming scissors are worth their weight in gold or bud, whichever you prefer... Still have a few big sativa ladies still going, uuhhmm....what is left of them after the lekker k@k weather. Wasnt as bad as DBN and southcoast but still wasnt funny. Enough broken, snapped and twisted branches, even with our diy "storm netting" in place. Just mend and save what you can and cut off what you can't. 1-2. 3x Swazi bagseeds with good vigour, had a time controlling their stretch. 3-4. Lemon Fire looking a little worse for wear but her buds look good. 5-6. Blueberry clone showing some an excellent bud to leaf ratio. All droopy after the weather but soldiering on. 7. Start of the winter batch, all clones. Fruitpunch f2 and f5, Golden Malawi, WWxMango. They'll be small, but winter terps are something else. Growers' reserve.

Aweh fellow florists. Ladies are doing lekker, weighed down with their burdens. But we like it that way. Very happy with the results so far since moving to the growbed style of cultivation. Haven't fed any bottled nutes except to assist with any defs, of which we only had a slight Ca problem. They had a regular dose of AACT and some Comfrey/banana FPJ with molasses in flower. They reacted very positively to that so we started a Comfrey/banana/parsley FPJ, which I'll dose with some molasses before hand. Only other bag/bottle nutrient was some Protek guano pellets. Watering is also a much easier and lighter affair, compared to the pots and growbags. Fruitpunch f5 , f2. Lemon Fire-Tall lanky sativa flowering later. Cheers

Aweh fellow florists, The outdoor flowering window is upon us, our ladies are looking awesome. Whole plant pic followed by flower. 1/2/3/4/5/6/11/12.Fruitpunch f5 7/8. Fruitpunch f2 9/10. Lemon Fire f1 Very happy to be able to run multiple plants that were bred by my own hand. The internodal spacing on the f5's are much more compact than the f2's. Possibly a bit more Swazi sativa stretch vs the Mango Kush compactness going hand in hand with the balance between fruity mango sweetness and Swazi citrus tang. Very interesting for me to see the different traits coming through in the different generations. IPM will have to on point with the compact girls, don't want to pay any more taxes than we have to. Leaf discolouration due to hectic UV experienced in our area. Plants looking amazing in comparison to the lawn, which is still trying to recover. Topdressed with some EWC and more organic material, girls got a AACT watering and a Comfrey FPJ. Next round will be another AACT and a Comfrey/Parsley/Banana FPJ. Cheers

Aweh fellow florists, Removed the anti-cyclone netting so the Fruitpunch girls can breathe better, they are a bit bushy. Did a EWC topdress to give the girls a bit of a boost and watered the goodstuff in. Thinking I may need to do some more defoliatiin on the lower regions...

Ladies are doing well, all healthy and strong. Was hoping they would'nt get too tall, have to leave space for preflower stretch. Think they going to touch 2.0m. Had a couple of rough days with the weather, even tried prepping for that flippen cyclone-hence the net. After the rains last week, the sunshine was a female dog- hectic UV that even bleached some leaves. IPM wise, they got a biogrow insecticide spray around the bottom and middle and a Margaret roberts for worms around the tops seeing as theyre allready in preflower. Last week, topdressed with some more organic material and capped off with dry straw/grass clippings and finally watered in some tricoderma(fusarium control) Yesterday they got a maintenance dose of calmag as some plants were just starting to show a cal def. Here's to happy flowers.

Good job on the cleanup. Have become a big fan of taking the bottoms off and defoliating.

These ladies got their veg on nicely. Could probably hear them growing...haha. Cleaned up under the skirts and removed the bottom 2 nodes.(got some big clones) Topdressed with Guano pellets and a sprinkling of bonemeal. Noticed some preflower action happening here and there, so the game is afoot. Need to do a follow up biogrow inseticide spray, but the weather looks like rain. Luckily haven't had any serious pest issues yet, but ipm is ipm.

Aweh gromies. The girls started showing some early signs, females got transplanted to final spots. Might chuck some pollen if we find a good male, but thats a big if, as theres enough other stuff going on. 1. Girls only recieved some natural rain and wormtea, with a crassclipping topdress to conserve moisture and keep the rootzone cool. Will do a lower part cleanup once they get over any transplant stress and start vegging proper. 2. Got some potted ladies going as well, wanted to compare growth and yield between the growbed and my diy soil style of growing for my own interest. 3. Did a serious defol on this big girl as she was getting way too bushy. Might need to do some lst to open her up a bit. She recieved some biobiz grow humic/fulvic and molasses as she seem quite hungry. Lekker

Aweh gromies, We've had some hectic weather the past weeks, sure most of SA experienced some dodgy weather judging by social media. Had some issues getting things started, despite the weather. These young ones are actually the 3rd attempt.... got nailed every time by some effing vegetarian critter. Running some of my own crosses from last season. The sativa dominant strains just handle our heat and humidity better. They're freshly transplanted into 9lt bags untill sexing, then onto their final homes-30-60lts. 1. Fruitpunch F5 and F2 Lemon Fire WWxMango Bubblegum. 2-3. Purple Bud x Swazi ladies Growing out 2 pheno's of this cross, a sativa and indica dominant. The sativa is the favorite so far, good spacing and stretch, strong lemon, citrussy scent, can barely touch the plant and its lemonzest all over. Will let the indica run its course out of curiosity, but hopes are fading for her. Got a dash of spidermite but biogrow will sort that. 4-7. While the ladies are doing their thing we got some other stuff going. Healthy living and good eating. Managed well over 20kgs of tomatoes and a few more on the various 'cherry' varieties.

Doing the stacking thing, bottom totes have drainage to collect worm tea, totes on top have multiple holes for tea draining down and worms migrating up when bottom totes are full.

So no drainage holes in the black totes?

The blue compost drums have 2 rows of 9mm holes all the way around.

Nice one. Do you drill holes in those compost totes or leave em as is?

Been a busy time... Sifted 400lt of compost from the JoJo composter, cooking 200lt's on the backburner for the next round in the wheelybin. Mixed 2 batches of 160lt's. Base store bought 'soil' amended with wood ash, volcanic rock dust, dol lime, bone meal, bio ocean kelp and 60lt of sifted compost and 30lt EWC each. The soil in the blue drums get rolled every week to mix and aerate during cooking. The drums are less messy and look neater, rolling them also much less effort that spade turning. Been struggling to find decent EWC locally, decided 'stuff this' and started our own farm, mix of red wrigglers and local worms. Started with 1, now up to 2 totes, very soon 4x60lt totes will supply 40-80lt's every 2-3mnths. The tea is a welcome bonus. Worms seem happy as they breeding like bunnies.

First 3 layers of the new growbed, brown, green and brown on top. Carry on with layers untill we're happy.
