Hello everyone, My space is mostly sorted now just the extraction fan and ducting to put in and a bit of wiring. I'm hoping this diary I can ask me some questions and get me some answers.... even if it's 3 different answers from 3 different people It's been a while since I grew indoors and I've never grown under led. I've tried not to get too caught up in the deep dive and get this thing sorted before putting plants in but some clones became available so at the minute the grow doors are open and a fan is circulating air. I have a dehumidifier that is keeping the RH acceptable. Temp not an issue yet. I still have a lot of finishing up to do but they're in veg so I got a bit of time. Herewith the details! Space: 1m x 1.7m x 2.2m high Extraction: 6" with speed controller Passive intakes - 3 x 6" Temp: oil heater hooked up to a TH16 Light: 550w bar light with the 561 diodes (75cm X 115cm ). It has a sonoff timer and a power supply that can be dimmed with a screwdriver. Currently on full whack and 130cm from the plant tops as I just put the clones in there and I didn't want to freak them out. Strains: Blueberry Hashplant / Bruce Banner / Mandarin Mints / Pineapple Express / Super Cheese / Gorilla Glue I was only going to do two strains, a head and a body stone, but got a bit carried away and got 6 different strains in the end. Planned to grow 4 plants but got an extra two in case I cocked something up. It's been known to happen. I also didn't match the growing properties because I didn't know the details for each strain but I did recognise a few names and know I've got some tall ones in there so this could get interesting. They're still in 1L pots, was going to pot into 20L final containers today / tomorrow IPM so far: Yesterday: Neem spray (1ml / litre) Tomorrow: Margaret Roberts Worm (1 leaf a caterpillar had munched on. No sign of the caterpillar. Friday: Coppersoap if I can remember to buy it Nutes: Biogrow / Biobloom / Root Juice Microbes: Biocult Mycorrhizae at transplant Soil: FF, the green bag Water: So far rain water with ph up. Going forward either rain water or tap water left for a day and ph down. OK I think that's all except I should probably put a pic up. Let me do that now... My first questions: 1 - Does everybody put into the final container or do you pot up again? I was going to go to 4L containers and then into the 20L grow bags but now I'm thinking I ight put them straight into final container so the can get over transplant, then top them. 2 - Is 20L too big? I have 15L soil in each container at the moment resting. 3 - I had planned 4 plants. Is 6 doable in this space if all the clones survive my heavy hands? Thanks everyone, looking forward to this. wing2 points

people are willing to pay silly amounts. I have seen way worse than this, some new drop 10 pack photoperiods go for around 10 to 15k...... makes my ass gasp for air.... and there's no option to buy a single seed either so it's 10-15K or nothing. even with a shit load of excessive cash, which is almost impossible in SA unless you part of parliment, should anyone be thinking about paying that amount for some cannabis seeds. the guys paying those prices make it hard for the rest of us, cause it validates the prices. ...but then again, what's the point in telling someone with "enough money" how they should be spending it that's what they pay the financial advisor for I hope! I learn mostly through stealing with my eyes and ears and what I picked up is that price clearly doesn't translate to quality, as a lot of it is just hype surrounding a something "new". although the arguement can be made, because it's new it's better, but that's rarely the case unless the individual also sees a point in paying extra to get the new Iphone a couple weeks before everyone else, there is no common reasoning with that individual, because they clearly have too much money to have a normal constructive conversation with and offence will be taken... more often than not those first batches are the problematic ones aswell and they're the ones who need constant repair or replacement. anyway... with the right information you can "fish for" much better phenos when you jump on that new new from the right breeder and all that, but you still gona have to hunt for a good pheno. in which case I'll just hang around and wait till the local clone banks make the selected phenos available for single clone purchase. boycott high seed prices2 points

Eskom stage 6.. and bad weather on the horizon ^^ How many in here hate Eskom? I am such a lucky guy that my tent is soon done and I can shut down. Starting to harvest the White Widows today.. take down step by step and hang in the dry tent. Day 6 of Week 12.. more or less on time as expected.. rest is far over the time given by the breeder. One of the WW Auto's was a photo.. I kept her and see how fast she flowers. If the auto fast flower got stuck, might keep her.2 points

Woman fired from Barloworld for using dagga was not unfair discrimination, court rules The Labour Court has upheld the dismissal of an employee for repeatedly testing positive for cannabis. The court ruled that the decriminalisation of cannabis has not given protection to those who breach a company’s policy. The company had a "zero tolerance" policy and it was irrelevant whether the employee’s performance was impaired or not. A long-serving employee who was fired after repeatedly testing positive for cannabis, in breach of the company’s rules, has failed in her bid to be reinstated. Bernadette Enever, who had been employed in an office position at Barloworld Equipment since 2007, said she used cannabis oil for medicinal reasons and smoked it recreationally for "spiritual" reasons". She wanted the labour court to declare her dismissal in April 2020 to be grounded in "unfair discrimination" and automatically an unfair dismissal. But Johannesburg Labour Court Acting Judge Makosho Ntsoane has dismissed her application, saying the company treated all employees the same. If Enever needed to use cannabis for medicinal purposes, she should have presented evidence of that. Instead she had only made the claim as an "afterthought", after she had been caught out. In a summary of evidence, the judge said Enever had an unblemished disciplinary record when she first tested positive in January 2020. Enever told of how at one stage, due to various ailments, she was taking up to ten prescription drugs a day. Following the decriminalisation of cannabis for personal use by the Constitutional Court, she had weaned herself off the pills using cannabis oil. She also smoked rolled cannabis every evening to assist with insomnia and anxiety which had improved her "bodily health, outlook and spirituality". The judge said the company had a zero tolerance policy towards alcohol and drugs and required employees to undergo regular tests. When Enever had first tested positive, she was placed on seven-day "cleaning up" leave, a process which entailed that the test would be repeated weekly until she tested negative. It was common cause, the judge said, that when she tested positive, she was not "stoned" or unable to perform her usual desk duties. She was also not in possession of cannabis. Enever continued to fail the weekly tests for a month and she was charged with breaching the company’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Policy. Following a hearing, she was fired, the chairperson indicating that there was no point in giving her a final written warning because she had "unequivocally refused to give up consumption of the cannabis". Enever, in her case before the Labour Court, claimed the policy was unfair and discriminatory. Judge Ntsoane said the unchallenged evidence was that she was at all times aware of the policy. The company had led evidence that it had been applied consistently to all employees. "Indeed, everyone is entitled to use cannabis in their own space and for recreational purposes. Similarly everyone is entitled to consume alcohol in their own private space and time. This however does not mean that if an employee who consumed alcohol the previous night happens to test positive, the (company) would have to take cognisance of the fact that such alcohol was consumed in the employee’s private space and time. "It also does not matter that (Enever) was not impaired when she tested positive. She has to comply with the rules." He said in light of the dangerous environment, the company was entitled to its zero tolerance policy and the Constitutional Court judgment did not offer any protection to employees against disciplinary action should they breach company policies. He said Enever had argued that the company "should understand " that cannabis and alcohol were different in that alcohol could clear out of someone’s system quickly, while cannabis can stay for days or weeks. But, he said, she had been treated the same way as other employees and if she were treated differently "it would be seen to be creating a precedent" and would place an unfair burden on the company. On the issue of her medical condition, the judge said there had been no "persuasive evidence" of this, and prior to testing positive she had not volunteered this information to the company but only sought to raise this as a defence "after she was caught". "Even if I were to accept the medicinal argument, which I don’t, then why would I accept the recreational drug consumption when either or both will in any event lead to positive tests?" Regarding the sanction of dismissal, Judge Ntsoane said Enever had indicated that she would not stop using cannabis and the hearing chairperson had correctly found that a final written warning would serve no purpose. He dismissed her claims of discrimination and automatically unfair dismissal, but made no order as to costs. https://www.news24.com/fin24/companies/woman-fired-from-barloworld-for-using-dagga-was-not-unfair-discrimination-court-rules-20220628?dicbo=v2-59dea29d3c45c6f8221b1c30a1690ec81 point

Company policies are what it is. The tide will change slowly as the older generation starts moving on, or even better this whole work from the office culture goes along with them and the problem sorts itself. Those company policies are probably 20 years old. Obviously if you are armed security, operating heavy machinery, or doing a job that clearly doesn't mix with weed, then ja, duh.1 point

Ironic how the law regarding cannabis consumption was written in this regard. You are allowed to use it in your private capacity but.... many/most companies have this zero tollerance policy, because cannabis is still regarded as a "physically addictive" and "fabric of society destroying" drug. But on the other hand she didn't do herself any favours as the judge stated. She should've approached the situation with more forethought. My company has the same zero tolerance policy. Played my cards right with the safety officer, get a heads-up 2-6weeks b4 any testing...mandatory tolerance break. Workaround sorted.1 point

According to PapaJ the KHC03 can be used until last 3 days before harvest, or a week, and no need to wash it off, it apparently dissolves into the air leaving nothing behind. My only gripe with it, is that it burns my pistols and that isnt what I want.1 point

I've had that in almost every grow. Didn't lead to complications at all. My guess is that it's a micro nutrient issue. I wouldn't stress too much unless it starts affecting the plant in a big way.1 point

Good day growmies, I am growing in Orgasoilux. I use dechlorinated tap water. Once a week I feed with Environoc Biodyne and Epic 5:2 This is when each of the plants became afflicted with the "rusty" leaf issue: CK day 25 LB day 8 BB2 day 17 WC day 241 point

And to keep a bit track... today is the first day of week 11. So 71 days passed since the seeds got dropped into water. Only Auto Strain I found so far actually doing its thing under 9 weeks are the Gelato's from 42FastBuds. The Nirvana plants are all off beside the White Widows, set with 11-12 weeks, they have a good chance to finish end week 12. Blue Cheese, Blue Dream and GSC will all take a few weeks longer as Nirvana states on their website. The Blue Dream a good 4 weeks longer as they say, also had 2 Hermis in that batch, I would say was genetic as they pushed flowers like a proper male, not just at certain branches.1 point

update overdue, been 3 weeks. Blueberry Hashplant trimmed and in jars, came out to 75g, burping them daily, smells like.... some stinky weed.... doesn't smell like anything I can put my finger on, all I can say is it's good weed. got a clone of her in flower again, but will probably be the last time growing her. she made a few nice fat buds, rock hard, but could be denser. here's a few photos @Khakibos @ORGANinc. what's good man, I remember you saying you keen to see what the Bodhi - BlueberryHP does, here she is - could be better I give her a 5 or maybe a 6 out of 10..... here's the outdoor Blueberry Hashplant, this plant was 1/4 of the size of the indoor plant, so I didn't weigh her. gave her a budwash as she's been getting all sorts of dirt on her standing outside. don't know who of you have tested this, but there's no doubt in my mind that a budwash also speeds up the drying process. not that we want quicker drying, just something to take note of. if it doesn't make sense and seems counterintuitive, test it! you'll see outdoor BlueberryHashplant Next, we have the Sugarcane finally hanging, she got the chop about 2 nights ago. Tent got cleaned out. made it smell like a hospital in there, left it for 24hrs... moved the vegging ladies over, they actually been on 12/12 in the veg tent for about 2 weeks already, so we're heading towards the end of week 3 of flower for these girls. French Macaron Chernobyl Frosted Apricot Super Cheese Blueberry Hashplant That's all for now, folks1 point
