  1. If you guys are in the mood to found a over priced internet seed bank... i'm helping

  2. I have no rational grasp that a single regular seed can retail for 2k. Perhaps im just aiming elsewhere entirely... A R20k seed investment fills hectares in my circles...

  3. Seeing stuff like that always makes me want to google the genetics and see what these buds look like. and 9 times out of 10, I say to myself, it looks like weed, maybe more frosty, maybe cool ass colours, and for that price tag it will also get you high. Weed is always looking cooler and cooler as the days go by, but its always strikes you when you see it on a screen and not upfront and personal. Everything is looking better than it is, and therefore selling for higher than it should. Its a modern day trick photography marketing scheme, I remember people trying to justify this shit lol. Ya, ya ya... People will only get taken advantage of for soooo long. In the meanwhile, there's money to be made @Totemic We gotta relook at the pricing.

  4. Indeed. How ridiculous. I am having solar put in before month end.

  5. Big tent is looking better in terms of health. Think I am past the worst of the recent issues. I'll start adding the next net layer after I start seeing a little preflower push. Only a couple of days into flower. I will probably do one more final small defoliation soon. In other news, there is finally some activity happening in the other tents. I have another four ZxP close to being transplanted into some more autopots on standby in the former veg tent. In the Organic Tent™ I have four OMG and two Wedding Cake just getting themselves established still. If my clones/seeds hadn't wrecked during the beginning of Winter I might have been actually pretty close to harvest right now but it is what it is. Four months from now it will be a pretty jamming time anyways harvest wise, I am looking forward to what the OMG can do. Wedding Cake is a personal favourite so I also look forward to having some of that again. I've actually been considering trying to time my next grows so that I do not have anything in deep flower this coming December/January. Not only to avoid what I have found to be the harshest conditions for my setup and strains during the year, but also on costs... and stress. Added bonus is the ability to take a trip for a week without stress if plants are only in veg. The big tent should have it's current harvest around the end of August, which leaves three months before the beginning of December to push another harvest through. Can do, I must just get the clones running up to harvest timed right. I think as soon as the mothers have enough off-shoots I will start to get them going already. I don't think I'll get either of the other tents going for another harvest in time once their respective harvests are completed, so I'll expend as much time as I can in developing some sturdy ladies during veg.

  6. At least are all regular seeds in that shop... what inceases the interest right away. Nothing genetically changed... easy to make your own seeds... then you can hunt phenos as long as you are in the mood. But picture this... you buy those 19k seeds and customs confiscate them. Right now... not importing seeds myself... lost to much cash. And now even Germany goes to legalize cannabis. The SA government will waste that much time, the rest of the world will have legalized it, till they manage to do their job here. And the advantages for early implementation are gone. Last draft from 2020 said they have to do the work, which should have been done in November 2020, in 2023. And honestly, if they dont implement it this time legal home growing, i will sue the SA government for not doing their job. Somebody just reminded me that we are load shedding for 12 years now... is that right??

  8. So it’s been almost 19 days since I flipper these to flower. The Transkei just showed me it is female. She is going to take long to flower. I am guessing 16 weeks. Hope she is worth it.

  9. Week 2 done and the canopy is thick! The beach wedding at the back stretched the most the others not too far behind. With loadshedding my main concern is airflow so got this rechargeable fan/light from game I keep it plugged in with a phone charger and the battery keeps going when the electricity is out so atleast I have some airflow, will look to add another one soon.

  12. oh shit! I'll keep my eyes wide open then, I've been lucky so far. I got 2 clip fans in each 1mx1m tent, one on floor level and one at canopy level. veg tent got a 10cm extract fan running on low, I turn her up on high RH days flower tent got a 15cm extract fan also running on low and only put her on full pump when RH is high moving enough air without causing wind damage and a religious IPM regime helps a lot and I think a huge contribution to a disease free grow is cleanliness. a deep room and equipment clean after every run like you in a medical facility, keep your hands and tools clean. if you ever see plants with PM around your house sort it out right away, if you work with plants a lot try to not visit your tents when not needed and shower or change clothes before visiting the tents as the chances of bringing in unwanted fungal or bacterial spores or even unwanted insects and shit in becomes much bigger if you around lots of plants all day. but yeah like you said PM is everywhere all the time so even if we don't work with plants or don't see it around the garden at all we have to prevent it from ever showing up by creating an unfavourable environment for it and that's gona be a different thing for everyone with some things staying the same for us all.

  14. did I miss something or WHY THEY NAMING THE EMPLOYEE AND NOT THE P*** THAT FIRED HER???? The precedent was already set when the law was changed, who the hell does this guy think he is? oooooh jinne I should get into law........ this is the personal feelings of someone in office at Barloworld surfacing and this guy is a complete idiot and can thank his god for the unfair bias, there shouldn't have been a court case except for the one against the company taking measures beyond what the law dictates. Barloworld and who ever is behind this is directly infringing on what his employees are doing on their own time, the fact that it's "dagga" the employee was using has nothing to do with them as a company since the law to use "dagga" on personal time and private property recreationally was passed. clearly this Barloworld poeskop has some personal issues with "dagga". smoking weed is legal, you cannot fire someone for having coffee at home. If you are breaking the law on your own time, that's a different story all together and the company can just get the law involved. not act out on their personal feelings and beliefs. the law is the law that's why we have it. Zero tolerance policies can dictate you get fired on the spot when under the influence of substances, even if they are legal, on company time. not that you don't get drunk over the weekend, cause that would be infringement. Was she high on company time? No. So zero tolerance policy se p**s. if it was illegal substance I would understand the probation period, but you can't put someone on probation for drinking coffee at home, you couldn't do it with alcohol or cigarettes, so why can you with weed? yeah, testing methods need to change. as for the whole bullshit they spin about the employee only using this defense tactic after she got caught out, well was there any special forms or anything handed out by Barloworld asking employees to state all substances they use on their personal time? legal and illegal? I am pretty sure there isn't, cause that would be infringement too. the employee wasn't too bright saying it's for medicinal use when it wasn't. there was no need for that, and now they have something to hold against her. if it was medicinal or recreational use has nothing to do with the company anyway. do they need to know if you drink coffee recreationally or medicinally? No. ALSO, does the company present a disclosure agreement upon hiring where people need to agree to not use dagga since working for them? I DON'T THINK SO, otherwise this whole thing wouldn't have happened. but because they chose to let their employees do what is legal on their own time, it's an unwritten and unspoken agreement that they can smoke weed at home. otherwise, to protect them as a company they needed to print legal documents to get personal information from their employees and newly hired staff, which would've been a hassle for them, because not even the fucking government can just come ask you personal shit you do on your private time and property. this is absolute BULLSHIT!!!!!! fuck Barloworld. they wana talk about setting a precedent and be a model for how things should be they need to get updated on the public opinion of dagga use and change their uneducated beliefs. fucking assholes potentially taking away someones livelihood from them and their dependants, an employee of 15 years, just cause of their lack of common sense... only precedent they setting is that Barloworld is being run by a shit-for-brains asshole. I hope there's justice for Bernadette Enever and I hope there is justice for the Barloworld cunt aswell. he deserves it more than her.

Plus Quattro Kush F3 and Zweet Insanity is back in the tent. They are very much some of my best smoking genetics. Oh and Hitman OG clone only from Cape Coast Hybrids

  16. Got the WW's hanging.. things got way more complicated with stage 6... and i mean a lot more complicated The light is one thing to go off for 4 hours and longer.. but manageable. The missing ventilation is the real killer. There is no cheap solution to it.. your ventilation goes off for 4 hours to vent your tent and mold as other pests become an issue. I had to work daily on that tent to keep things in order. WW's hanging.. I do not run a carbon filter for the dry tent, I have a ozone generator running inside. Kills the smell and keeps things clean. Blue dream's are rather over time but also start to get blue ^^ Soooo... not done but I can do a quick recap.. Pots made my life very hard.. the wrong gear alone can add 50% extra time. Stupid, stupid, STUPID! Then... yes, commercial grows you do in HYDRO ^^ i wouldn't call it a commercial grow what I did, i just went to the max grow space can take.. and that is a bit the commercial approach. I grew for the last 3 years and the only issue i ever had to face was PM. This time I used the same setup.. except the stupid pots ^^ So new Tent, new Lights, new Pots, new carbon filter.. feminized seeds and FF Premium Classic soil.. all new fresh bags. Had Thrips and Spider Mites on some plants.. removed the whole plants once saw it. So lost a few... only option.. really, only option, came in over the soil. The rest was as squeaky clean as it could have been. Is the one bag that can give you huge hassle. I think into building me a hydro setup for the 2.4x2.4 and try that again with chemical feeding.

  17. Which doffus told you to use Up or Down on your organic feeding? You turn it into chemical feeding with a single drop of those chemicals. Use biological Up/ Down, like Lemon juice/vinegar and liquid lime stone. But once more, if you run organic in soil, you can skip the pH hassle, not needed at all. As long as you use rain water, you are good. Moment you use tap water, you run chemical again.

  18. I've used less than your amount, and gotten burn. Don't get me wrong, the PM was stopped in it tracks, and does a great job. I just cant get it to not burn the pistols, and then my plants are not happy. I also do my sprays at lights out, maybe that I spray as they go out, but doubt it, or the fans blowing on the wet pistols? My choice, is air flow, and VPD Mildew is always around, and only attacks a plant that is not healthy, and breathing, so I keep the plants as healthy and in optimal transpiration for best results and defense

  19. Hello everyone, My space is mostly sorted now just the extraction fan and ducting to put in and a bit of wiring. I'm hoping this diary I can ask me some questions and get me some answers.... even if it's 3 different answers from 3 different people It's been a while since I grew indoors and I've never grown under led. I've tried not to get too caught up in the deep dive and get this thing sorted before putting plants in but some clones became available so at the minute the grow doors are open and a fan is circulating air. I have a dehumidifier that is keeping the RH acceptable. Temp not an issue yet. I still have a lot of finishing up to do but they're in veg so I got a bit of time. Herewith the details! Space: 1m x 1.7m x 2.2m high Extraction: 6" with speed controller Passive intakes - 3 x 6" Temp: oil heater hooked up to a TH16 Light: 550w bar light with the 561 diodes (75cm X 115cm ). It has a sonoff timer and a power supply that can be dimmed with a screwdriver. Currently on full whack and 130cm from the plant tops as I just put the clones in there and I didn't want to freak them out. Strains: Blueberry Hashplant / Bruce Banner / Mandarin Mints / Pineapple Express / Super Cheese / Gorilla Glue I was only going to do two strains, a head and a body stone, but got a bit carried away and got 6 different strains in the end. Planned to grow 4 plants but got an extra two in case I cocked something up. It's been known to happen. I also didn't match the growing properties because I didn't know the details for each strain but I did recognise a few names and know I've got some tall ones in there so this could get interesting. They're still in 1L pots, was going to pot into 20L final containers today / tomorrow IPM so far: Yesterday: Neem spray (1ml / litre) Tomorrow: Margaret Roberts Worm (1 leaf a caterpillar had munched on. No sign of the caterpillar. Friday: Coppersoap if I can remember to buy it Nutes: Biogrow / Biobloom / Root Juice Microbes: Biocult Mycorrhizae at transplant Soil: FF, the green bag Water: So far rain water with ph up. Going forward either rain water or tap water left for a day and ph down. OK I think that's all except I should probably put a pic up. Let me do that now... My first questions: 1 - Does everybody put into the final container or do you pot up again? I was going to go to 4L containers and then into the 20L grow bags but now I'm thinking I ight put them straight into final container so the can get over transplant, then top them. 2 - Is 20L too big? I have 15L soil in each container at the moment resting. 3 - I had planned 4 plants. Is 6 doable in this space if all the clones survive my heavy hands? Thanks everyone, looking forward to this. wing

  20. Woman fired from Barloworld for using dagga was not unfair discrimination, court rules The Labour Court has upheld the dismissal of an employee for repeatedly testing positive for cannabis. The court ruled that the decriminalisation of cannabis has not given protection to those who breach a company’s policy. The company had a "zero tolerance" policy and it was irrelevant whether the employee’s performance was impaired or not. A long-serving employee who was fired after repeatedly testing positive for cannabis, in breach of the company’s rules, has failed in her bid to be reinstated. Bernadette Enever, who had been employed in an office position at Barloworld Equipment since 2007, said she used cannabis oil for medicinal reasons and smoked it recreationally for "spiritual" reasons". She wanted the labour court to declare her dismissal in April 2020 to be grounded in "unfair discrimination" and automatically an unfair dismissal. But Johannesburg Labour Court Acting Judge Makosho Ntsoane has dismissed her application, saying the company treated all employees the same. If Enever needed to use cannabis for medicinal purposes, she should have presented evidence of that. Instead she had only made the claim as an "afterthought", after she had been caught out. In a summary of evidence, the judge said Enever had an unblemished disciplinary record when she first tested positive in January 2020. Enever told of how at one stage, due to various ailments, she was taking up to ten prescription drugs a day. Following the decriminalisation of cannabis for personal use by the Constitutional Court, she had weaned herself off the pills using cannabis oil. She also smoked rolled cannabis every evening to assist with insomnia and anxiety which had improved her "bodily health, outlook and spirituality". The judge said the company had a zero tolerance policy towards alcohol and drugs and required employees to undergo regular tests. When Enever had first tested positive, she was placed on seven-day "cleaning up" leave, a process which entailed that the test would be repeated weekly until she tested negative. It was common cause, the judge said, that when she tested positive, she was not "stoned" or unable to perform her usual desk duties. She was also not in possession of cannabis. Enever continued to fail the weekly tests for a month and she was charged with breaching the company’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Policy. Following a hearing, she was fired, the chairperson indicating that there was no point in giving her a final written warning because she had "unequivocally refused to give up consumption of the cannabis". Enever, in her case before the Labour Court, claimed the policy was unfair and discriminatory. Judge Ntsoane said the unchallenged evidence was that she was at all times aware of the policy. The company had led evidence that it had been applied consistently to all employees. "Indeed, everyone is entitled to use cannabis in their own space and for recreational purposes. Similarly everyone is entitled to consume alcohol in their own private space and time. This however does not mean that if an employee who consumed alcohol the previous night happens to test positive, the (company) would have to take cognisance of the fact that such alcohol was consumed in the employee’s private space and time. "It also does not matter that (Enever) was not impaired when she tested positive. She has to comply with the rules." He said in light of the dangerous environment, the company was entitled to its zero tolerance policy and the Constitutional Court judgment did not offer any protection to employees against disciplinary action should they breach company policies. He said Enever had argued that the company "should understand " that cannabis and alcohol were different in that alcohol could clear out of someone’s system quickly, while cannabis can stay for days or weeks. But, he said, she had been treated the same way as other employees and if she were treated differently "it would be seen to be creating a precedent" and would place an unfair burden on the company. On the issue of her medical condition, the judge said there had been no "persuasive evidence" of this, and prior to testing positive she had not volunteered this information to the company but only sought to raise this as a defence "after she was caught". "Even if I were to accept the medicinal argument, which I don’t, then why would I accept the recreational drug consumption when either or both will in any event lead to positive tests?" Regarding the sanction of dismissal, Judge Ntsoane said Enever had indicated that she would not stop using cannabis and the hearing chairperson had correctly found that a final written warning would serve no purpose. He dismissed her claims of discrimination and automatically unfair dismissal, but made no order as to costs. https://www.news24.com/fin24/companies/woman-fired-from-barloworld-for-using-dagga-was-not-unfair-discrimination-court-rules-20220628?dicbo=v2-59dea29d3c45c6f8221b1c30a1690ec8

  21. awesome. thanks for the input. I don't know what half those things are or rather, I've read of them but I haven't put the time in yet. Will do that when I get a chance. Last time I grew indoors it was a 1000w hps, a single fan, no extraction just the door open, regular feed not cannabis specific, and the walls were painted black. Grew some very fine weed in those conditions. Not sexy weed but got me very caned! I wonder how much difference in potency a perfect grow makes. Terps, flavinoids etc I understand, growing conditions are essential but potency?

  22. Truth. When I got caught as a lighty by my mom and got my pee tested, I pissed hot for weed even a month after not smoking anything. I was treated like I had literally sparked up right before going into the bathroom. Good times! As much as I'd say we need new testing methodologies, I also feel like not. The less the SAPS have to terrorize me the better.

  23. I always thought it's 300w per m/2, this is what the LED gardener gives as ideal range, with 500 micromol/second on the leaf surface during veg up to 1500 micromol/second on the leaf surface during flower. as we all know wattage says very little, if I have 500w of blurple light I get way less micromols/second on the leaf than a 300w light with some nice samsung diodes with a much better PAR readout than the blurpy. but yeah man, I agree with ORGANinc, 550w samsung lm561c diodes in that space of yours is ample! my bar light in the 1m x 1m flower tent is 310watt, actual output 300watt, got the same lm561 diodes as him, less light to space ratio overall and I am doing juuust fine

  24. I am very much convinced came from the soil. The house isn't new to growing and also never had any pest issues. All in the tent was brand new.. and i really mean bought for that run. Is what soils can bring you.. issues. when you do small batches, you lose small or see it early to contain it. With bigger batches you run into a issue what ever you do once a problem is out, can only contain it issue. You just can't watch all plants the same way..

  26. you were right about this, I didn't realise how much heat the led array and driver gave off. And with the solid roof and walls and foam over the floorboards it's pretty well insulated compared to a tent so it won't get too cold. I'll definitely move the driver out the space for summer tho.

  27. I wont delete this but, I welcome arguments Lol. Ok maybe your need more. They say minimum 480w per m/2, which I found to be quite a lot(but who am I., dont hit heavy numbers). However, i'm not actively feeding my plants. Food for thought.

  29. I agree on those points, but if you consume at home you're not "high" the next morning at work, but you'll have thc in your system. In a perfect world testing methodology/tech should be improved to discern between levels such as with alcohol. But I'm not holding my breath....

  32. Company policies are what it is. The tide will change slowly as the older generation starts moving on, or even better this whole work from the office culture goes along with them and the problem sorts itself. Those company policies are probably 20 years old. Obviously if you are armed security, operating heavy machinery, or doing a job that clearly doesn't mix with weed, then ja, duh.

  33. Ironic how the law regarding cannabis consumption was written in this regard. You are allowed to use it in your private capacity but.... many/most companies have this zero tollerance policy, because cannabis is still regarded as a "physically addictive" and "fabric of society destroying" drug. But on the other hand she didn't do herself any favours as the judge stated. She should've approached the situation with more forethought. My company has the same zero tolerance policy. Played my cards right with the safety officer, get a heads-up 2-6weeks b4 any testing...mandatory tolerance break. Workaround sorted.

  34. thanks, saves me some time. strange that it would burn your pistils, mine seems fine after treatment. was the biggest worry before spraying so I made sure to check. I mix 3g of the KHCO2 and 2ml Jadam with 1L distilled water and spray only during darkness. how much you mix? Neem, even at half dose, turns my pistils brown and severely stunts flower production, the plant does nothing for atleast two weeks before I see any new growth, does this happen when your pistils turn brown from the KHCO2?
    1 point
  35. According to PapaJ the KHC03 can be used until last 3 days before harvest, or a week, and no need to wash it off, it apparently dissolves into the air leaving nothing behind. My only gripe with it, is that it burns my pistols and that isnt what I want.

  36. Canopy is coming along. I've got the itch to hit the flip. I am about a week past when I would usually flip so far. I feel like I want to still push veg for a bit. The cold is making the plants a bit droopy during the morning but they perk up during the afternoon. In the past I've had to battle with sub 10C temps but now the temps don't dip more than 16C and my current max is 24C. Not ideal for veg to have such cold periods, but it won't be for much longer and the general growth seems to be coming along regardless. The canopy would probably look a bit more bushy if the leaves were praying up. The last few days the plants were looking a little pale so I've since raised my LED wattage to a total of 640W and the nutrient feed is at 1.8 EC. They are looking much greener today already.
