This thread though I can very clearly see why naming the strain 'hitler' is a great marketing tactic. I mean, have you ever seen a thread give a strain like cookies the kind of air time? If Hitler offends, Stalin, Khan, Nero, and other most evil characters for their time should offend. Hell maybe i should bring a line of strictly offensive genetics... Thats a good name too haha Life is too short to be offended by our history and characters from it. Im far more offended by our present world leaders anyway, as its tangible, present, and has an actual effect on my life now. Still i dont really even entertain those feelings, since all these feelings really have nothing to do with our real world.3 points

alternative is just buying a door and putting a lip inside the entrance with some of that rubber on it.2 points

A light trap you say? how often you need to open and close to move through there? Drop sheet with ducktape, just leave one side open or something? otherwise, a low effort DIY door. rectangular wooden beams flush with the walls of the entrance, wooden frame door with soft wood board as the actual door, just one is needed. 2 x hinges and a latch. to keep the door closed. Tyre tube inners or any kinda rubber tubing that'll seal the door, this goes all along the wooden frame you drilled flush into the wall so when the door meets the wood and the latch keeps the door closed the rubber traps the light. so this rectangular beam goes flush on the wall all along the inside of the entrance, creating a "step over" or a "lip" inside the entrance (you need the outer frame to be strong enough to support the weight of the door, use coach screws so the weight of the door doesn't pull the frame out the wall) then you build you door with square wooden beams (it's cheaper, and you'll need enough of it). measure the hole you wana close, add 2cm on each side, now you know how big the door frame must be. take the square beams, build the frame this is a good DIY door frame example, mind the free hand drawing now you slap some thin, cheap, soft wood board on it to make the actual door, literally this paper thin wood sheet will work 100% fiiiiiiiine. have some left over in the garage, will take a photo then you gotta line the door with this rubber, you can buy it at autozone, it's meant to make cars water proof. so it'll work for light. now you just put the hinges on the door, easy peasy, get a thin object to raise the door 2-5cm off the ground when making it level so you know the door moves freely. the light trap will come from the rubber seal, hinges are the second easiest part. now for the easiest part and that everything is in place, you just need the door to stay closed. a simple latch will do, many options.2 points

Hey guys and gals, interested in your opinion here. A friend of mine brought some weed over to my place, it looked great, smelled great and got me pretty baked. It's definitely indoor, but the guy was selling this particular batch for only R20/g. In normal circumstances one would jump for joy and buy a KG of the stuff, right? I can't even grow it for that price! We smoked through a pipe mostly and what's concerning was how this stuff was popping and sparking, like those little firework sparklers just less dramatic. Very odd, it wasn't seeds or stems, when the seller was asked about it he said the bud had too much "Calyx". This just seems like something you would say to someone who doesn't understand the anatomy of the plant to get them to stop asking questions, and actually has me concerned about said friends health . Whats your thoughts? Am I being paranoid?1 point

Have not used it. Was to expensive for me. But would like to see results1 point

This is help, the hard to hear stuff. like you said, peace is beter than....?? last one is a real stinger, but it needs to be said. it's literally a matter of understanding. like they say, trauma can really change a person, but then again SO DOES HEALING1 point

lol I am not emotionally connected to this one bit that's why I am saying what I am saying making my point while people are playing white night for others' emotions, and like I said I wana understand life, it's just that there hasn't been a single drop of mind altering information literally everyone can be against me here, it's not gona change the truth. it's the classic "the truth = unpopular opinion" and that's again cause people are incredibly soft. sometimes it's the things you don't wana hear that can make the biggest change in your life. and like I said before, everyone can benefit from this peice of information. it's advice people can use to improve their lives. if you wana get offended by self improvement that's another level of not understanding that we can get into on another day sometimes smarter people don't have to sink to the level of others to try and explain shit. either you understand it or you don't. period. I don't have to stop making my point to save other peoples feelings like I said, I never did anything directly to anyone, never called anyone names never cursed at anyone, never wished harm upon anyone, never did shit to offend anyone. or is my opinion what offends you? again my point on how people are seriously too touchyfeely in 2022. it's a shame. If I said you randomly offend me while you have done nothing to offend me, who needs to work on themselves? me or you? we can't just let people be offended, everyone wants to be offended by what personally upsets them. soooo, if I didn't say it was a problem, but rather said I am offended by it, does that mean the whole world must change to better suit me? or do I have to change to see the world in a better way? serious questions I would reeeeaally like answers to. so far I have asked so many quetions and every time I get the same "but their feeeeelings" and that's not an answer at all. if you care so much, at least answer one of my questions? don't hit me with the generic "everyones different, everyones feeling" bullshit. that's not gona help me understand anything. that's my point exactly. when an individual gets offended by words it's something that needs work on within themselves cause they let themself get offended, while in reality NOTHING WAS DONE TO THEM. no two ways about it. how can I be open to peoples feelings if their feelings are based on irrational personal short comings? and yes, the inability to distance words from feelings is a shortcoming. in order to move forward you need to learn, in order to learn you need to put your feelings aside. people with overwhelming feelings go to art school and those that don't make it in art school become Hitler, full sircle. people with overwhelming feelings who see shit by how they feel as an idividual kinda aren't the most fun to be around either. life can be great, but it must be awfull getting offended by words. if nothing else, I feel sorry for those people, which again makes me wana help them. but noooooooooooo, even explaining it is offensive now1 point

Call me an Arse Hole, and I get offended... Sure, I'm at fault, fully agree and I will need to work on myself, like you previously spoke of, correct. Different when you talking about a person, who has such a background, which might touch base more with some than others. We have no idea what paths and lives people have lived, that shape and effect them. Peace is better than fighting1 point

Very strong "feelings" you seem to have though, but it's yours and I'm happy with that. Wait a second, nobody said the whole world, my comment said everyone is different, which like your preference or argument, would make it virtually impossible for any, or am I wrong? How can you expect anyone to be open to your view, if you are not open to others views? Dont be so hard on yourself, I care about you and your feelings, I'm being sincere too.1 point

Hey folks, Just got one of these, 600w CMH 3000k SE lamps from HydroDepot and am really keen to see the difference, (if there is one) between CMH, HPS and LED. Anyone using one?1 point

A valid story, someone in the far East tried naming their child Saddam Hitler ( or something like that ) about 10 years ago. The birth certificate was not authorized. It made me think, cause that is exactly what I wanted to name my child. TBH, I dont think I would be that dumb, if someone gave me a good looking seed or clone of hitler and the timing was right, I would be there like a bear. I wont boast, but was just working with "malema" weed. As I say, there is good weed and better weed. Names are interesting things, but I would never name my son Dick or my daughter Fanny.1 point

Could maybe try hang an old curtain and add some velcro to stick it closed against the wall if needed. I remember they used to sell single tent walls with a zipper in the middle. That could've maybe worked too.1 point

Bru, sitting working with 49 amazing strains, including one local cup winner and one international cup winner. I smoked it, cause there is no bad weed, only better and betterer weed.1 point

Most likely, he sold you a substandard product. The problem is that there is no certain standard that manufacturers must adhere to. If companies introduced quality control and clear production rules, there would be fewer people buying substandard products. I recently came across a project whose essence is to improve the production process through item-by-item tracking of cannabis. The blockchain-based platform allows the automation of production control and track of deliveries. I think this is a brilliant idea that could impact cannabis producers for the better. I can't wait for producers to start using such software.1 point

holy fucking shit! now I am more interested than ever in why the hell this stuff is sparky like that!!! I heard stories back in the day of weed being harvested in some rather "unsanitary" places and the dry rooms being sprayed with doom and dotted with rat poisons to keep insects, spiders and rodents at bay, then the weed gained stories of being laced with doom to "make it stronger" but the guys who did it, didn't do it to intentionally lace the weed, though the stuff got on the weed anyway and caused problems with the consumers. but what you guys are telling me now is wild.... got me researching a bunch and came up with some crazy shit!!!! some legal grow facilities in the great 'Muricas use forms of radiation to clean their weed post harvest!!!! This guy seems legit, gives sources for personal research for all the sceptics, his channel on youtube has actually got quite a bunch of facts on weed for those of us who may have some unanswered questions about weed.1 point

Harm prevention is key, if in doubt rather get rid of it. Not worth risking your health for a bit of money.1 point

A part of me hoped I'd come here and be told I'm being paranoid, I had no idea people were dipping in sulpher/sugar/GLASS... I thought the khat and heroine laced weed of Oppi Koppi would top the list forever. It's some dodgy weed, I'll certainly not be smoking it again . Thanks for all the horror stories!1 point

There was even rumours of scousers using powdered glass as a dip for more weight and the illusion of glistening trichomes.1 point

I do not think it has anything to do with flushing or not. I no longer flush and never experienced anything like this. I susepect the weed was sprayed with something and that's what is causing this. Seems quite dodge and suspect. Overseas it is common for weed to be laced with other substances as it makes the weed seem more potent and makes it easier to sell. Never heard of the sugar water, but a possibility too. If this is some of the weed from legal grows, then it was rejected for a reason and that reason could be why it is crackling and popping.1 point

This is what i have heard as well - it could also be greendoor thats making waves lately... last seasons outdoor harvests were nothing to scoff over... some of the best green iv seen in years going for stupidly low prices... prices that @Martin7318 is quite correct about... indoor cannot be grown for R10 a gram if its quality1 point

To me it looks like nice, frosty buds except for the second last pic. What is that separate small white pieces that i see? Remember when i was in the UK back in the day that they used to spray the buds with sugar water to add weight. Always had to test it by feeling the texture between your teeth. If it felt grainy it was sprayed or even worse, dipped in something for added weight. Thats why i only grow my own.1 point

Realized tonight that I never responded here. I've attached Pics for those still interested (Apologies for quality, these were sent to me). My guess is that either something was used during flower for pests or mildew and wasn't cleaned correctly. Either that or the nutrients being used need a serious flush and this guy just doesn't flush at all . I've also come across something called PGR's (Plant Growth Regulators), scary to think it could be that. This same friend got some "AAA Grade" from the same guy, paid only R50, the weed wasn't "Sparky" like the last batch but had a terrible chemical taste to it and very heavy on the throat and chest. Doesn't seem healthy to me, my poor mate must think I'm jealous because he walked in with big smiles and I had nothing nice to say about it after the smoke1 point

I agree probly shitty weed that wasn't flushed... Or... It could be spider mites those lil f**kers light up and pop like that aswel1 point

It’s probably shitty weed that wasn’t flushed properly and now they want to flog it. Snap crackle and pop, how did it taste? Anything like Nos?1 point

What I heard is that legal grows are pumping product into the illegal market at R10 a gram. It could be sulphur that they spayed or burnt in the last bit of the grow. Lesotho legal producers.1 point

wow shit man do you still have some of the bud? my first question to you is simple, is the weed properly dried yet? sorry if that's a dumb question, but you never know if you really sure it's not seeds or stems it could be that he rushed or pushed something during harvest/dry/cure and depending on where he rushed or pushed it, it may have different levels of concern. if you have some, grind some up and take a real close look at it, maybe post a photo for us? I had a plant shoot out nanners at the end of a grow, pushed them too far and it pollinated a spot here and there in the tent that started forming seeds. I could see the little swolen pockets in the flowers when closely inspected, I gave some of that weed to my brother in law and he also smoked it without noticing the seeds, cz they just started forming and is really just a hard peice of green "barky" seed shell that looks just like the rest of the weed, but it will crackle when sparked. if this is the case then it just depends on the smoker how much they like it, personally I can't stand it. if this is not the case, then you actually do have right to be a bit worried as your friend might be smoking on some carcinogens. it will be minute amounts, nothing to write home about. I mean there are carcinogenic particulates in the food we eat and the air we breathe, but be careful as that is the last list in life that you wana keep adding to. we rather wana make that list shorter. in this case the snap, crackle and pop is the sign of nutrients that the plant needed when it was alive that are still present in forms of sugars, salts, startch and other forms of oils that you do not wana smoke. this would be the result of pumping the plant with too much PPM in the last period of its life and not making sure the plant was atleast starting to fade before harvest. so pushed the nutes and then rushed the harvest. also, did he perhaps wash the bud after he harvested? some people wash their buds with lime juice and bicarbonate of soda then they forget to wash all that off with clean water and this may also result in a snap, crackle and pop and probably more carcinogenic and the biggest risk to your health of all the rest. definitly not a calyx problem though, the more calyx the better1 point
