So 2 of the Pluto cut autos came up, hoping we get 1 girl, or 2

Just need to note. These 2 plants are the Gorilla Fumé. They could not be more different. One is tall with very little branching. Other is short with lots of branching. The tall one clones easily the short one I had some problems with, but managed to pull a cut through.

Morning all Excited to be back very soon. I will be starting off small as space is limited, I miss my 2.4m x 1.2m tent[emoji24] So going 60cm x 60cm. My intention is to run led during summer and hid in winter. I'm a big mars hydro fan but 1.4m in height with hid I don't know. The question is, is it worth skipping quality for a extra 30cm in height? I am planning to mostly or even exclusively grow autos. Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

A 110w led is plenty for a 60x60 tent. 240w is overkill .

I work with pm, I dream of pm, I wake up in the am to pm. Airflow. PM is always around, its watching your every step, they like a vaalie cousin, always comes down to see you in time for Xmas,Summer,sea and sand. It just needs the right recipe ( RH and stale air ) and its activated. SO I think the trick is to have a couple fans, and like @The_StonedTroopersaid, make sure every leaf moves in the wind. Pm for me usually starts on the lower leaves, so I am putting a fan on oneside below the canopy and on the other side above the canopy. That has helped for us. Funny enough, due to PM I did this course in conjunction with two other growers this week, its helped alot in many ways. So I'm just waiting on some more soil before I collect any more tyres. There are about 10 autos in tyres and in the ground for now. Still cold and very damp here, till 10am some days it's misty. Purple peas, black beans, tomatoes, mint, spuds and a chilli plant growing in the tyre garden as well. In ghe shade house autos at varies ages. They having a hard time but growing. I'll get into more detail later. Ran a test on some homegrown seedling soil from our landlady. 128 photoperiod seeds into a tray. 92% germination in 7 days. Thats 118 from 128. Hope everyone is doing well! Life is just life-ing, been away from home a lot, couldn't have expected my plants to stay in the best shape Had one or two nights a week I would be able to pop in and see if everythings OK, so for about just under a month the plants were all basically just watered. picked up a few deficiencies and it seems one of the mothers got spider mites, first time for me in a loooooooong time. probably gona be a bit of a battle. I still have all the plants though, nothing died, nothing looking like I can't save it. I am home now, but from here on forward my life will be shifting a gear in terms of being preoccupied and not having much time for hobbies. However, this weekend I'll be home most of the time, gona focus on getting things up and running again. Some sad sights to see, but I'll be posting photos either tonight or tomorrow. Why go HID at all?? Those Mars LED lights are good.. better as anything HID can unpack, times for HID are very much over with the new diodes.

Tenazole But for real, you get WPM once then you do everything to prevent it in future. I even just today swapped out a 4 inch extractor to a 6 inch because since the beginning of Spring the little 4 inch hasn't been able to pull enough moisture out my one tent. I am also currently contemplating adding more plants to my space but again, with WPM in mind, I don't want to overload the amount of foliage and plant perspiration in the tent. Which leads to the next point, defoliate! You can get away with pretty much removing every big fan leaf from every major stem/branch of your plant, especially before the flip. Then ventilation, I now always have a top fan for the canopy and a bottom fan blowing just above pot level. Lastly, I try cleaning everything in my tents after harvest. The walls of the tent, the floor, the blades of every fan and the tops of the LEDs. You can have spores in your tent just waiting for the right conditions to hit, and they won't grow unless those conditions are met (high temp/humidity) but why risk it. Fresh start always feels good.

Hey guys, first time grower here and looking for some answers on discoloration in my first true leaves(3rd pic). My other two seedlings don't seem to have the same issue. These are all 3 days old and I've only just pH'd my water to 6.5(organic living soil grow). Up to now I've been using tap water which I found to have a pH of 8.2... I think that is the problem but I'd like to know what more experienced growers think. All answers are appreciated

The numbers answer that by default hehehe 600w pulls 600 watts, what ever consumption toy sits behind.. the LED 600 watts will just cover about double the area with enough light.. double the harvest, less heat to kill as they are now more then double efficient as a HID systems. Forget HID guys.. honestly.. the next advantage is that you can include into those diodes what ever frequency you want to add, low or high IR, UV versions, .. the goal is not to recreate the sun, that is last year tech, you want to shine on the ladies exactly what the ladies want.. and in the right intensity. The is the next big gimmick ^^

No. pulling the same amount of wattage from the wall for the same amount of hours gives you the same amount on the electricity bill. I wish it was just black and white though, but when concidering the output you are paying more for less, together with the speed of degredation from the HID bulbs and ballasts, trying to keep them cool so they don't run out too fast, if you wana add to that grab a proper light meter and let's get real sciency. 600w LED gona give you best output over a longer period of time with less maintenance. where as we all know why HID have to be maintained/replaced from time to time, cause the gradient is even steeper when looking at the PAR output over a longer time period. so do you pay more for less? yes

I think that’s a great idea, I always wanted to experiment with HID during winter, makes a lot of sense to me. that environment in my mind will be very happy, if you got lights on at night type of vibe, then I don’t know how a 600w hid will manage in a 60 x 60, maybe 80 or best 1m2 keen to see the grow,

@Naughty.Psychonaut The heater fan is exactly what I did with my last grow. I still have the fan. I have an entry level 100w led for now. So will see how it goes, I didn't buy the hid kit yet. Upfront cost wise I'm still leaning towards hid at R2k for a complete 600w kit until I can get myself a proper led light.

And the opposite for summer with hid. . My plants were stunted on all the hot days. No burning but there was no physical growth I could see on those hot days. Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

Much appreciated all. Yes like NP said. I had very low temps in the heart of winter even with hid as the tent was in my garage. It will be much better in the house and also will act as small heater for the house so the benefits will equal/outweigh the electricity cost for me in winter. Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

Just a question, @Naughty.Psychonaut Take a 600w LED vs 600w HPS, both run 12 hours a day, will the 600w HPS cost you more money?

electricity wise when using HID you paying for a heater that makes some light when half the wattage gets put out in heat, running a HID cost way more than LED so you not getting less light you just paying extra and getting more heat out of thw deal. where as with LED most of what you pay for is being pushed out in form of light. on the rating charts a bunch of the LEDs with the samsung diodes and meanwell drivers outcompete HID of the same wattage. just have to look for the right one. most commercial LEDs are still pretty shit so still very easy to buy the wrong one. if you going for the heat from the HID, it would just be a lot more practical and cost effective in the long run to get a higher quality LED and just grab one of those small fan heaters that have built in timers, just for the winter. I got one and it's almost overkill in my small space. I had to buy an additional timer, because the lowest setting -15min off 15min on- on the heater was too much. had to put it on 15min on every hour. just a suggestion.

You get to that point where your oldest soil bed is your best soil. Dark, alive. Nothing beats the ease of growing in healthy living soil that has been looked after. What strains are you growing?

Summer 2022 Aweh fellow florists, How's the outdoor season prep coming along? The growbeds are now more than one year in the making and just getting better. Theres no comparison to the surrounding "soil/sand". Growbeds have a 20-30cm dark humus layer and are much more "active" with all kinds of organisms. #Soilfoodweb Since the last harvest in june, we've layered more organic material, added bonemeal, rockdust, calcitic lime and multiple doses of AACT to stimulate the organic breakdown activities. The mycelium growing in the mulch layer was a cool find and a good healthy sign IMO. We've come to enjoy/prefer this organic no-till approach to outdoor cannabis growing. Reduced costs, water consuption, plant stress and IPM issues. Which means less sweat, graft and worry for the grower that must deal with any problems. After soaking, beans were planted in 9lt bags for eventual sexing, then they'll be moved to the growbeds. Cheers.

That 30cm will be welcomed, even with the LED. They are going to reach from 50cm to 1m, plus the pot. And those lighthouse tents aren't bad quality

So I've not put the covers on so I can easily monitor the water level in the trays. I went with the Easy2grow setup, so 2 pots per tray. Also using the smaller pots, so far the top of the coco has remained wet... Maybe because they're still small clones or maybe because it's a shorter pot?

Hey I have had endless problems with WPM and have tried almost all so called fixes. What has worked for me is to try to eliminate root cause first otherwise you will constantly battle; 1. Decent extraction 2. Multiple Fans (blowing underneath the canopy as well as above. Don’t worry about wind burn. Crank the fans to max as long as they oscillate 3. Feed in the morning rather than evening 4. Avoid plant leaves touching each other. Prune if you have to 5. Prune bottom ⅓ before flip to flower 6. Invest in a dehumidifier if budget allows Treatment: I use 50% Hydrogen Peroxide mixed at a ratio of 60ml to 940ml plain water (1L total volume). This will give you a 3% concentration which is relatively mild. Wear gloves and a dust mask, switch off the main lights (do 1 hour before lights off, depending on qty of plants), switch off fans but keep extraction going. Spray each plant, completely top to bottom, literally drench the plant. Take it a bit easier on the buds, but it’s ok if you spray them. Work methodically and don’t miss a spot.When complete, switch fans on max so the plants will be dry before lights come back on (water spots will create burn marks on the leaves) Repeat above process on day 3 to catch any spots you might have missed. If WPM is still hanging around a few places, repeat again Although this mix is mild, avoid contact with your skin. If you do get some on your skin, water and soap will fix it. It will most likely burn the pistils but that’s not really a big deal. I haven’t found that this affects smoke or aroma/taste of the finished product I found about a 80% improvement the following day after the 1st treatment. Follow up spray is important to try to break the cycle. Loadshedding always creates a WPM rich environment. No air movement and high RH are perfect for WPM. Try to get some air movement in your grow area while power is off, where possible Sorry for the long post, but this is by far the best treatment I have experienced to deal with the issue Bud Wash: 1 x bucket with warm water. Add Hydrogen peroxide at the same ratio as above (60:940) 1 x bucket Lemon Juice & BiCarb 1x bucket cold water Submerge for a few minuets in each bucket in that order. Rinse off with gentle spray, I use hose with gentle spray, and it will wash away a big amount of WPM. I swing the branches to remove excess water, then hang straight away Good luck with the fight man, it’s a major pain in the ass and can ruin your buds, but hopefully this helps

Things are shak'n up on the reservation. No pics for short while. The kid was playing ball with a river rock and my phone/camera/connection with the outside world got in the way. Hopefully sort that out come end November. Tyre patch looking good. Variety of auto and photoperiod seedlings up then some peppers and veg on the go. In the shade house a few autos on the go and 3 photoperiod that I'm really hoping will reveg. Still holding on for the big plant. Cold and misty in the mornings.

You could make a great pumpkin patch. have nice trailing vines that you start in a few tyres.

Chomping at the bit these little one's. I'm still prepping and these decided they happy in the compost/worm castings made by us. Went to a seed swop of a different kind today. Have loads of food to grow between the Mother Herbs in the tyre garden.

7 days later and 100% germination on the Anastasia 99 autoflower feminized. True to form it has rained like a futhermucker every day since I planted these ladies.

Being the impatient git I am I've planted a few seeds in the shade house. 24 hours in the shot glass then less than 24 hours in paper towel and ready to rock and roll. 5 seeds in a 100l planter box. Soil in this box comes from a wholesale nursery up the road. Heard via the bush telegraph a few growers in the area are using it with good results. R25 for 40l trade price. Worth a try.

First 10m windbreak is up. Another 30m to go. Started collecting and prepping tyre's. Bottom tyre is like a little compost/worm bin then I'll be filling the next tyre up with amended soil. Gonna be putting 32 of these tyre raised beds in the 20m x 10m area.

They make their own coco too. The two part is probably optimized for their own coco but the standard tri part works like a bomb for most coco mixes.
