720w on a 1.2x1.2 area is a lot ^^ I use 440-480w on the same area. Might want to put a dimmer on. 301h are great diodes... nothing wrong, would use a dimmer ^^ Would also keep using till the diodes fade and you need new lights anyhow. I run 288 Quantum Boards and if you order from Alibaba directly, you should get for 25k about 16 QBs with 8 240w drivers... so you can light up a 2.4x2.4 tent with 25k.3 points

Aweh, seems like you should grow with what you have and invest your money in a back up system.3 points

Whats up man, Yea that's my problem with flushing a living soil, when you put more than 10% of water in a living soil, the soil is now waterlogged and everything takes much longer to happen. So if you flushing in terms of a strategical move to lower the EC, that's fine. But unless the leaves are crisping up and the plant is visibly super unhappy, I would then only water 10% per time and then you should be getting some run off and also lowering the EC. But also waiting forever for the next watering, which is essential, you could find yourself digging a bottomless pit going this route. Try be very careful not to over water the specific plant. My biggest mistake is treating all the plants the same. That's lots of love you have given you plants, everything they will need for a long while I'm sure. If that plant is now super heavy after the flush and you wanting it to dry out a bit faster. My advise is to possibly remove the mulch from her for now. But With all that Ecosystem boosting you've do0ne, you can certainly expect some super happy plants in the coming, cool man all the best!3 points

Ok, so it seems the Zweet Inzanity enjoyed their time in the hot house. The soil they where planted into was relatively freshly cooked, so one of the 4 plants showing a bit of stress right now, but I already know why and half way to recovery already. the plant in the middle is a Grape Diamond mother that was getting big outside and went into flower, but wont be able to finish, so cut her back a whole bunch to start my next batch, got 5 clones of her... monocrop plus a new mother, luckily we moving towards veg cycle outdoors so they can just be left outside for now. still got the 150w LED flood light on them from 18.00 till 22.00 then from 22.00 till 06.00 they sleep.3 points

Well... Guys and girls, this is what it looks like when you neglect your plants for a while and believe me, I tried to make them look as pretty as I possibly can before the photo was taken. obviously one plant in the corner, Pineapple Chunk, still stressing hard. Flushed her, somehow her soil EC was sitting at 7.0, but she never showed stress with transplant, but now that she's "bigger" she's stressing about too much nutes.... What you guys think? Lockout? Root damage? 3 Super Cheese plants all got stripped of old dying leaves of which there where plenty, main branches selected, nodes stripped. Scrog net pulled down to open them up for shorter branches to come through. first time for me using mulch. sometimes it helps to see your situation from further away, cause had it not been for my negligence I would probably not have noticed how dead my "living soil" was... made some AACT with rainwater, wormcastings as a base, molasses, alfalfa for loads of enzymes and trace minerals, SST juice for more enzymes and trace minerals, the pulp was mixed into top layer of soil for even more enzymes and trace minerals and encouraging bacterial and fungal growth and since I added a buffet of food for fungi, just as a cherry on top of the cake, some more fungi, a heap of biocult. diluted it down 50/50 with more rain water. gave each plant like 500ml and then topdressed with hay. getting into watering less at a time, but more frequently, as my topsoil was dying while the bottom of the pot was still wet. can't have that. Also looking into the whole KNF thing? Who's into this stuff? I tried making LABs once, stunk up the whole house.... anway, back to normal3 points

So that's what I thought - I've just finish doing all the walls in diamond mylar and I'm testing out using the tent frames as a structure to hold the lights, scrog nets, co2 bags, etc. If it works well, then I will order 25mm camping polls and build my own frame that's more sterdy and perminant. Means I can reclaim my tent polls and sell my tents. Also I dislike tent growing and not being about to get to every plant easily. Now I can literally walk around them.2 points

Hi Guys, So I been growing in 2x 1.2m tents using Generic 640w - 8-bar lights running samsung 301H and osram 666nm diodes, with 730nm and UV and they look like this: I can't say that I have been overly impressed with them, they work fine and have produced some quality flower, but... I then decided to buy a Lumii Black 720w LED, as I was going to do some cloning/mother stuff, but then decided against it, However, buying this Lumii light has started a head spinning series of testing which has left me feeling rather undecided. So first off, this Lumii LED is monster bright, but in the region of around 12 000 lumens brighter than my existing 8-bar Samsung 301H lights. The lumii spectrum is 50/50 red blue (3000k + 5000k), while my existing lights are more a 70/30 towards the warm side of color spectrum (3000k+3500k+4000k). The only real advantage I can see with my 8-bar lights over the Lumii is that the 8-bar light has UV & 730nm IR on it's own dimmer, however in my past 2 grows, my plants have shown foxtailing and I'm suspecting it's due to this. My grow space has now gone from 2x 1.2m tents to a 3m x 3m grow room, in here I have placed the frames of the two grow tents (to hold the lights) and I will be growing 8 plants in this "2.4m x 1.2m" tent frame area, so I will be utilizing two lights at once. So here are my options and I would like your options please: A. Continue with existing 8-bar lights because Lumens isn't going to make a difference and you better off the 730nm + UV. Also it has pretty purple lights... B. Buy another lumii 720w LED fixture and run two of them (Feel the POWA). C. I wouldn't do either of those, If I had R25k - R35k to spend on grow lights, I would rather buy 2x ___________________________ lights. D. ooooooo Look at the pretty purple lights....2 points

They both come with dimmers. The first one has a standard dimmer and a dimmer for "UV & 730nm IR" (To be honest, I have no idea why they bundled these ends of the spectrum together on 1 dimmer... The 730nm says "stretch" and the UV is like "nah bro... don't do that"), I guess the UV does have the benefit of increasing THC production. The Lumii has a dimmer with set values (240w, 400w, 600w, 600w+boost (ie: 690w with 720w draw) thanks for your feedback, much appreciated.2 points

I already have a 3kw inverter and 4x deep cycle batteries, holds 1200w for about 2 hours. In the new year I’m putting the whole house and the grow room onto solar. so…2 points

I hosted an event yesterday and was asking people how they found out about it. One ponce, who owns a cannabis shop, was there to market discounts. He claimed he did not know about the event, but in all fairness he is admitting he cannot read and trying to be clever. The mass action event was well attended, always could be more, so well done to the organisers, promoters and to the people who got of their lazy stoner asses, broke the stereotype and fought for the rights of all citizens. ANC cant organise a piss up in a shebeen, I dont think street protests, memorandums, signatures towards the ANC are an absolute waste of time, should hit them where they listen and where it hurts and it all boils down to money/tax.2 points

Just need to note. These 2 plants are the Gorilla Fumé. They could not be more different. One is tall with very little branching. Other is short with lots of branching. The tall one clones easily the short one I had some problems with, but managed to pull a cut through.2 points

So spring has sprung, and while it was an uneventful winter for me on the growing front, i decided to start a few autos. I have very limited experience with them, and want to change that. Especially since I only have a veg area now, plus i get to squeeze in a harvest or 2 before Christmas. Thanks to @SkunkPharm and@Bay Seeds I have plenty to test out, and have been staggering planting weekly since last week of July, so they are between 1 and 6 weeks. They are outdoors on sunny days and under lights at night and in rainy weather. Ill probably be making a few seeds from 1 or 2 plants, but just to make more seeds for myself.1 point

Is actually clever to have the IR and UV.. as long as it is UVA ^^.. on one switch or dimmer. Flower wants IR, so you can turn those off during veg and save some cash. Zero need for red light. I run blue light in my mother tent.1 point

So the tent frames are in your bigger space, ahhh that’s exactly what you need man, clever thinking. you need to create a space within a space, that is a nice scrog frame too1 point

Sorry to bring up a dead topic, but these lights are now available in the country. They brought in by Syntech and Plant Living (https://plantliving.co.za/collections/grow-lights?page=4) has the best pricing on them so far.1 point

People sit on their asses for 12 years and don't care about Load Shedding ^^ what do you expect? A court told government to have the private use law implemented by October 2020.. what year we have? Honest answer.. the ANC head members only care about one thing.. how to exploit this country the most for their own personal profits. The really really sad part is that people still vote for those morons after 28 years... 28 years of constant going down in country wide services. Get those farts out first, then you can reorganized your money raped dry country, it really needs it. Sorry... Tourist shouldn't yell as loud, but I really like the vibe down here.. just have to shake my head after each nation wide vote. Any women voting for the ANC just makes my eyes widen very far... violence against them is off the charts. Stop that, Dudes, women need protection, not violence. What real man beats or hurts a woman?? I somehow already accepted that SA will get legalization as one of the last countries... when I renew my visa, it usually took 2 months to answer. Last renewal i did, i had the visa in my hand after 1.5 years... 18 months.. for a visa renewal I run for 12 years.. 6 times renewed with the same data... your government need 18 months to stamp that off.. if I i bribe, 3 weeks.. those are numbers, ehhh? hehehehe I would highly suggest to go to the streets and not just demonstrate for cannabis.. I would suggest to fill the roads and protest against the ANC directly. Those incompetent guys gone, things can only speed up to the better. Sooo, Prom had a venting hehehehe1 point

The numbers answer that by default hehehe 600w pulls 600 watts, what ever consumption toy sits behind.. the LED 600 watts will just cover about double the area with enough light.. double the harvest, less heat to kill as they are now more then double efficient as a HID systems. Forget HID guys.. honestly.. the next advantage is that you can include into those diodes what ever frequency you want to add, low or high IR, UV versions, .. the goal is not to recreate the sun, that is last year tech, you want to shine on the ladies exactly what the ladies want.. and in the right intensity. The is the next big gimmick ^^1 point
