  1. What a mission. Bud rot... revegging... too much rain... too much light. All the other weed just overgrow my garden without doing anything Perhaps the strain is not fit for these endless rains in Durban. Never had any issues with Swazi Gold, just left it outside in November and it came out perfect after a few months. Anyway, I cut the crap off and keep it out of the rains for now. Thaks for the input guys

  2. brother, my grow setup is in a wendy house outside. but I did insulate the wendy with the stuff they use for ceilings. thick white foamalite boards. will look for a photo real quick, there are some photos up on one of my threads. I am not home now, otherwise I'll just show you when I get home.

  3. I still grow indoors without any buffer to loadshedding. With the current stage 4/6 schedule, i run my veg on a 24h on cycle. Its not the Interrupted light cycle that causes issues during veg though , but interruptions to the 12h dark cycle during Flowering that is crucial. That 12h or more dark time is critical to the florigen hormone function responsible for stable flowering without stress responses presenting. When in flowering, i ignore the loadshedding times. See the loadshedding during lights on as a prolonged cloud cover. Its really not the lights that are an issue though. Its that 12h dark part of the cycle and the ventilation at that time. You need to keep the fans going during lights off/loadshedding times to avoid PM. Leaving the tent open at times when the lights would normally be on, will avert the PM. But during lights off/tent closed, airflow is that thing that HAS to still happen or PM will wreck your grow within a week.

  5. Quick update, the plants have now done their stretch and are flowering nicely. The Gelato x Kmints x Runtz have stretched all the way up to about 1.7m tall. I've slowly stared defoliating, however I won't be taking off to much, as long as there is airflow and the bud sites have direct light, I'm happy. My next update should include some nice bud shots.

  6. WAAAAAAAAAY easier than autos man totemic explains it nicely. you only need to worry about RH. all you need to know is when loadshedding hits it will NEVER extend your light hours, only shorten them. the worst loadshedding has been is 2x 3hr plus 1x 2hr breaks. that's 8hrs of darkness in 24hrs, so I just pull out my timers and let the lights be on for the remainder of the time. gives me 16/8 schedule still good for vegging. you just flip the little switch on the timer that leaves it on 24/7, loadshedding itself will control your cycle. if you can get a inverter+battery pack just to run a circulation fan and extraction fan for at least 3 hours then you one step ahead of me and I still have a harvest every 3 months with my 2 tent perpetual cycle.

  7. how are you grow photoperiod indoor exactly without inverter/battery backup? id like to make a choice between auto and photo but dot have backup how does the loadshedding and ligthing work out what is your current temp rh

  10. This is very important during the Summer months. Ventilation is crucial during loadshedding at the very least. Even just 4 hours of 100% humidity caused a couple of my nuggets to rot.

  12. Do you perhaps live in an old farm house with nice thick walls @Naughty.Psychonaut. I'm other side Malmesbury and indoor temps impossible to work with. Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk

  13. Side and top view of a few tall ones I need to keep on the low. Last season I ended up with 2m plants in 20l pots. 60% shade cloth tends to make the ladies stretch. Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk

  16. Every year I think outdoor growing on the reservation will be easier. 1st year I grew where I thought it would be reasonably sheltered. Plants did not live 2 or 3 months. Climate nailed them. 2nd year I grew in our garden which is more sheltered. Pretty much the same story. 3rd year nothing outdoors. This season I put up wind breaks and things were looking good. Until a few days ago. Thinking about moving above ground pots into the shade house and waiting to see what happens with buried pots and tyres. I am watering outdoors 3 times a day. 1st pic is what the plants look like come 6pm water time. Other pics plant in shade house 12 hours later. Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk

  17. From my MOMENT of MADNESS popping 128 seeds into a tray of local seedling soil I was testing things are still on the up side. 118 seeds germinated and were put into 3l & 5l pots then into list below with a local potting soil I am also testing. R25/40l. A bit of molasses here and a bit of SeaGro there and all good so far. Tyre Garden I have: 5 x 80l plus soil. Photoperiods. 12 x 20l soil. Photoperiods. 4 x autoflower. Shade House: 6 x 100l soil. Photoperiods. 8 x 20l soil. Photoperiods. 40 x 10l soil. 10l pots are not handling well outdoors. Photoperiods. 6 x autoflower. I have kept 71 plants from the 118. Gave a few away and the rest became worm food. Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk
