  1. What's up 420fam?! It's been a while since I've posted about my grows I just finished my first harvest with Greenhouse Powder Feeding Bio Line and was impressed with the results so trying it out again and to see if I can better things. I upgraded my tent to a Secret Jardin Ds120 (inspired by @Dr. Green) and got a 240w on a black Friday special. I Wanted to do a seed run but things got abit busy last year so had to get some clones. We got: Beach Wedding, Purple Sunset, La Alfie and Future #1 all in 15lt Bato pots with Medicoir 70/30 worm castings and Greenhouse Powder Feeding Bio Grow. They got 1 feed of Enhancer and rest just water. 17 Days between the 2 pictures.

  3. Is also a bit strain depended how they behave. Most strains are not to difficult, some go flower when you just take off 2 hours light time.. my JetFuel is one of those... rest didn't cause me to much stress with Stage 6. During day i empty the veg tent outside. With the flower tent I take the hit and just vent by hand. Sleep gets a bit the issue

  4. 100% agreed on both points. I first tried to use the dehu in the tent but didn't notice much difference because I was was just exhausting into the room. Now I try to control the RH of the room and that brings down the RH in the tent.

  5. That's what I'm doing with my veg plants now with stage 6, lights on 24/7 and let LS determine the dark periods will see how things are end of month and see when to flip.

  6. Howsit Bro, I was just speaking to my cousin about this today. He was worried about his clones not rooting because of LS. I haven't had any problems with clones though, I keep the lights on 24/7 for mine, I use those cheap 100w globes (R12 each), So even if LS is 4 hours it still doesn't affect the rooting. I don't know what the threshold is before they get affected but maybe keep your lights on 24hrs, they should be fine. I have some in the dome at the moment and they're starting to root after just over a week.

  7. The room is rather dark itself.. somebody rebuild a double garage into a granny flat but was rather shy on windows ^^ Also.. a short light period will not stress plants.. or every heavy lightning storms would disturb them and full moon push em into flower. You have to fear any direct light beams hitting your plants... a dim light no to much. Wanna go safe.. use green light ^^ plants use very little of that wave length. I noticed that as long there is no sun light leak.. direct sun beams passing a tent hole and hitting parts of a plant.. i have no switcheroo issues. Also should say, I only vent the flower tent by hand and let the veg tent go crazy with humidity.. just spray it with copper soap all 2 weeks, the high humidity even helps the veg tent ^^ the DS grows like nuts. Veg tent is more my Switcheroo issue.. have all light backup in that tent. Cheap LED backup doesn't help the flower tent overly much.. to weak to grow and to much dark just hurts potency. So all power goes veg tent and mother tent. My mothers give me the most stress...

  9. It goes a bit that way I open the 2.4x2.4 on both sides, take a plastic sheet and wave the moist air out till i get bored or my arm falls off. Is all about commitment hehehehe

  11. Roughly up to 60% in my experience, which isn't terrible but also not totally optimal. If it were to spike higher at any point you'd be at risk of PM at the worst time, hence I use the dehumidifier at that time to make sure it doesn't go any higher than 50% at the very least. Anything more than 6 straight hours of uninterrupted darkness will start to cause problems. Do as @Apoche Alypse said and just run 24/7, you'll get the recommended darkness periods for clones/veg whenever loadshedding hits.

  13. You add the amount of Bio Grow according to your pot size and then add Bio Bloom before you flip and then just water. My previous grow I transplanted into a 25lt pot for Flower but thinking of just sticking with the 15lt this grow. I always wanted to try this product but was a bit pricey but was lucky to win a set last year and then also got some Bio Grow on sale. Will maybe add another ammendment for Flower. We are definitely spoiled for choice with nutrients, I was using Mega Solutions before and used Biobizz as well.

  14. Nice brother, so you just give 1 dose over 8 week period? Nothing else? Always seen this product but didn't know anyone who used it so wasn't convinced. There are so many available, I'm using Terra Aquatica at the moment.

  15. Howzit guys. Ive got a couple of clones in a humidity dome on a shelf in the garage. 30w led floodlight on 18/6 timer. With loadshedding, this throws a bit of a fork in the cork of course. How many hours of interruption in light cycles will have a significant effect on my clones?

  16. Greenhouse will definitely help with wind and uninvited visitors. Yep I built it myself, nothing fancy, just basic to keep the wind at bay and try to minimize pollination from anyone growing males in the area. But here's a link from this forum from someone who shared their log with us.

  17. In cape Town I find that humidity usually picks up around that time of the year, a few years ago I had a big problem with pm on my outdoor plants during this time. It might be different if you're in another part of SA. If you can get a dehumidifier before then it'll be a big help to keep RH down, especially if you gonna be in late flower.

  21. Aweh. Sorry that was on me. Have updated the products to remove the shipping. Only one or two clients were effected and already contacted:) But yes. good news. Ticket sales are open! https://thehighco.co.za/product/cape-town-cannabis-cup-2023-tickets/ The response from entrants has been great, and I will probably raise the limit a bit. A dope private venue has been booked. Cool space with more room than the last cup. Also optimized how we will be dispensing the bud for a smoother experience all round. Please feel free to ask if you have any entrant, sponsor or judge queries.

  26. yes veg is very important stage as well to get optimal results edit; i have either a cat or dog who eats fan leaves off of my plants outside. and then there's the wind damage they contend with green house sounds about good, did you construct yourself?have log?

  27. Yes I do grow outdoor as well, in fact I have a little greenhouse setup. I veg them indoor, the loadshedding doesn't have a big effect during veg, then I flower them in the greenhouse most of the year. But indoor is where I really get the most out my plants, ito quality so I don't want to give up on it.

  28. side question @Apoche Alypsewhy don't you grow outdoor and skip the inverted all together

  31. Awesome. Have sent out the official mails this morning. Stoked to confirm that it will be at a bigger venue with an indoor and outdoor vibe. Really looking forward to kicking it up a gear this year.

  32. So about four weeks ago we had a harvest and I gave 2 of my friends a few wet trimmed branches of freshly harvested plants to dry and cure on their own. I'm at about two weeks since placing them into jars and burping twice a day. They are really smelling yummy and I will probably start smoking them soon. So we are at his house for a braai and he brings out his jar and its smells like shit. Like cheap outdoor. I realized after talking that he only dried it for a week before placing it into a jar. He said after he put it in the jar it got wet again and again so he would throw it onto a tray to dry for a few minutes every time. He also burped the jars twice every day. You're better of overdrying weed than jarring it with too much moisture in the bud. When you close that jar you lock in the moisture. Big companies freeze-dry cannabis and then jar them with 2-way humidity packs. Just trust me on this one. Dry the plants till you can easily snap the stems. Not kink, not click. Dry snap. You want to slowly dry the plant until it's ready to jar.

  33. I remember years ago I imported a Super Meat Boy t shirt and the customs was more than the shirt [emoji2957] As for the lights, my understanding is extra darkness shouldn’t matter, it’s more about extra light interrupting the dark cycle that causes problems Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  35. I just bought the gel from one of the online stores, its red and you store it in the fridge. I add Part B to bring the water up to 500ppm, then a teaspoon of the gel into the res, then airstone and heater, have roots around 4 days, complete in around 11 days for transplant. If you have never added nutes to your res, I suggest you try it,really speeds things up.

  39. My current grow is using 19.1 kw/units per 24h. I'm running 1000w(600w + 400w) lights in my flower tent and a 200w light in my veg tent. The fans are pulling 88w. You need to work out consumption in order to work out cost so the best thing to do is break your grow down to each piece of equipment that is using electricity and work from there: I'm gonna use my grow as an example here: Firstly it really helps to measure what each device is actually pulling and not go by the indicated wattage for the device i.e. a 600w HPS may use a little more than 600w, especially with magnetic ballasts. My 600W HPS and 400W HPS are collectively pulling a total of 1115w and not 1000W. If you have a prepaid meter it should be able to tell you the wattage being used in the house. An easy way to measure each devices true wattage is to have the device off, check the current wattage use in the house in the meter and note the amount, then turn the device on, note usage and work out the difference. Here's how to work out total consumption: The formula is : Device wattage X time(hours) device is on Flowering Lights: 1115w x 12 = 13 380 Veg Light: 200w x 18 = 3600 Fans(2 extractor fans and 2 oscillating Fans): 88w x 24 = 2112 We then add these totals together: 13 380 + 3600 + 2112 = 19 092 So that gives me 19 092 watts which is the total number of watts my grow uses every 24 hours. Or 19.1 kilowatts, or 19.1 units... whichever way you wanna look at it. To work out cost Formula: Total daily usage X Price per unit(kilowatt hour) Daily cost: 19.1 x R2.44 = R46.60 Monthly cost: 46.60 x 30 = R1398-00 Hope this helps
