  1. 10 days in flower. 2 females one male. Making seeds with these. Clones are busy rooting. To flower out the females and see if they are any good.

  2. I gave you one example.. I got myself into programming when i was 14.. didn't even had a computer to start with hehehe other story. But is my go to if I need money.. i code stuff ^^ If you are more into art and creating pictures... totally not my field.. Patreon you can create art and get sponsored by your fans. Sorry to say it.. OnlyFans is also a form of income you can do from anywhere (and no, doesn't has to be porn oriented to make a killing). If you have a passion and can turn it into income, you have a rather good chance to succeed compared to stuff you hate to do. Isn't easy.. but.. the internet is most likely your best chance to create a income you can maintain world wide. Twitch game streamer, Youtuber, sculptor, product tester, traveler... become creative. I do Shibari beside and have a few female friends acting as my models. They do their own thing. ^^ Females have a few more options.. and again.. doesn't need to be pornographic at all. You know best what you like to do and are good at.. see if you can turn that into a service on the internet. The start is always the hard part... and might need a few tries till you hit the bullseye. But if you don't try.. you will never hit the bullseye anyhow. Trying is part and if things don't pan out as planned, learn why, then it wasn't a failure in the first place, and try again. Making a mistake is only bad if you do not learn from it.. and learning is a good thing.. so don't let mistakes take you down, just learn from them. If you want to learn coding, start with the simple Basic. Once you understand how the code flows, you can take on more complex languages.. again slowly.. if you try Assembler after Basic.. you will shoot yourself hehehe You will find similarities in all coding languages out there.. like with all, getting into a new topic is the hard part. Bite through it and is becomes easier with each program you write.. and the code gets also more and more complex.

  3. @TheLazyFisherman hope you are well brother the best seeds come from a healthy plant. a healthy plant does not require more of a certain thing at a certain time. a healthy plant requires a well balanced and maintained life cycle. when doing things the right way you will only need clean water from begin to end. if you're using nutrients it's cause your soil is lacking and unbalanced. (not gona touch on growing with synthetics cause I don't mess with that, you start with 0 and work from there, in which case you will have to adjust your regime) Keeping things organic, when a female plant makes seed you get a bit of a lack on the resin production side, female cannabis plants "instinctively" make the resin as a form of protection against natural pressure like the sun, bugs and animals. When they go unpollinated resin production will slightly increase to provide more protection in fear for being able to pass on their genetics. If they get pollinated they know their genetics will carry on and the plant will automatically use the energy that would have gone to the resin, now goes into making the seeds. You just gotta make sure the plant is as healthy as can be, and the rest will fall in place by itself. It's not exactly the "one specific nutrient" to make better seeds situation. that's some stuff you hear people say at the grow shop. - the absolute worst place to get growing advice. the best seeds comes from a healthy plant. and to get a healthy plant takes almost the exact same every time - a well balanced regime, not X nute more during certain times. unless you growing with salts then adjust adjust adjust is the name of your game anyway

  4. Lol, Technically, that depends on several factors, including the size and thickness of the eggshells, the soil pH, and the temperature and moisture conditions in the soil. Powdered eggshells will generally release calcium into the soil more quickly than whole eggshells, as the increased surface area allows for faster decomposition. (Eggshells are a good source of calcium and they are everywhere if your sources are limited, is all I am saying. Point is you will get Calcium into your soil. - Sure there are better "purchasable" calcium subs, I was simply pointing out a cheap way to get it in the mix - I also mentioned it might be too late, however check your facts again on how fast the breakdown is. it's eggshells not kryptonite and it's really irrelevant, since calcium is a micronutrient, and the plant won't use more than it genetically told to use. - some fixes like using lime will up your PH, and you could cause nutrient lockout.

  5. My suggestion would be to build up a income over the internet. Get yourself fluent in some programming languages and enter yourself in some freelance boards. If you get enough jobs to maintain yourself, you can check where you want to move... all you need is a internet connection to go on with your work, doesn't matter where you sit. Will take a bit of time to get to the point.. but is a working concept.

  6. brother.... you know how long it takes egg shell to release Calcium into the soil? not a viable option for providing a plant with accessible source of Calcium at all. this is old lady mumbo jumbo life hacks you see on these youtube family channels. you can put egg shells in your compost heap or worm bin to add Calcium to your final product, which will be ready in a few months only and only IF conditions are right. in a potted plant soil mix breakdown takes muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch longer heres something you can really do with your egg shells to make it of any kinda value directly to your plants. If you looking for a quick fix lazy way, you gotta go with some kinda natural lime such as dolomite (finer the dust the quicker the breakdown, very potent Calcium source, very little goes a very long way) agricultural lime mix, gardeners gold dust, bonemeal...... so many. but egg shells? Not gona do a thing unless you start to build your own soil and give it months to break down before actually using the soil.

  7. I must be honest here The neighbourhood I grew up and was born in has gone to a DayZ type wasteland. Crawling with foreigners whose "standards" in things are completely backwards. You can see the types of cars people drive, they seem a mashup of maybe 4 different vehicles, but they get out with the fanciest of clothes and a rolex. This is starting to crawl like an oil spill on the ocean into the adjacent neighbourhoods, and unfortunately starting to move closer and closer to where I currently stay. We have recently had an incident around the corner where the Zama Zama's got into an all out war. The SANDF apparently had to be call in because it was above our police forces capabilities. Another house in our street heard a window break the other day, couldn't figure it out until they found a bullet in their pantry, stray bullet came straight through the window. This is very scary obviously, and as you say, if you try and be optimistic within this environment, it is not optimism it's ignorance. But financially, and other reasons, leaving for me is not really an option at the moment. So I have to try and make the best of a bad situation. Sidenote: If I may, what do you do that will enable you to leave here?

  8. The topic of this post is something I spend a lot of time investing in. Because there is certainly truth to the idea that people are growing 'fake strains'. BUT, it's also quite easy to find out who still uses the real thing and who doesn't, so long as you know who to trust - or at least who has proven themselves over the years to be focused on legitimacy. Because holy shit, there's a lot of guys that should be selling used cars. They can convince their audience of anything, regardless of how removed from fact it is. Unfortunately, if one gets real about this topic, feelings get hurt as well. People see their favourite breeder being called out and they think that because they found good plants in their seed pops, that the breeder is trustworthy. I've even seen guys get offended when they learn the cut they think is X is actually not. Because this is such an important topic I feel, I just want to share my experience as someone who spends a lot of time researching breeders and have worked for a couple seedbanks in vetting genetics suppliers and breeders. These are the main problems when it comes to 'fake seeds' and 'untrustworthy breeders/sellers' The Rename Game / White Label The Fall of the Dutch Replicas Authenticity of breeding stock The clone market The Rename Game In cannabis genetics it's often a case of trying to establish provenance. In other words, what is the true genetic lineage of a strain. Unfortunately, websites like Leafly popped up a few years ago and made the problem even worse. Because lineages that have been shrouded with elements of half truths and mystery suddenly get replaced by incorrect, but authorative statements on what is in a cross. Girl Scout Cookies is a good example of a cut that has a somewhat mysterious lineage and while some parts of the puzzle are out there, they aren't exactly on display on some popular website, they're discussed by guys who were close to the crews, on old forums and in small communities of people who are passionate about this stuff. The way a lot of the big seedbanks work is not like people think. They aren't all these passionate breeders walking around their facilities making selections all day. In many cases, a lot of the Dutch and Spanish genetics (will touch on this in the next topic) are outsourced. There are 2 or 3 really big breeders in Europe, who supply the same seeds to a number of 'breeders' - it is a massive white label industry. The breeder then packages, brands and markets the product. In many cases what they sell it as is something that's popular and currently desired, but what people get is just a renamed seed that may share some expressive traits. This has been common practice for a number of years now and it's one of the reasons I haven't dug into Dutch genetics for the last 5 years. Though there are still some guys there doing things legit, I don't want to take that away from them. I also don't want to make it sound like it's only these countries where this is practiced, there are a number of shady breeding practices that occur across a number of countries. But because of the legalities, Spain and Netherlands tend to be the most common locations for these companies to set up. The Fall of the Dutch One of the biggest challenges, especially in South Africa, is that there remains this idealistic view of Dutch genetics. Back in the 90s, breeders in Amsterdam had a lot of freedom. They weren't getting raided or shut down for large grows and were able to conduct large pheno hunts for their breeding. This was the era where a lot of seedbanks/breeders started to establish themselves and also do some unbelievable work. At the time, Americans were looking to the Dutch for what was hot. These days it's the complete opposite. What happened was, over a decade ago now, the Dutch government started to seriously clamp down on what one could and couldn't do with cannabis. And in the process, they raided a number of large, popular breeders at the time. In those raids, a lot of elite genetics were lost. Cuts that had been held onto for decades. A lot of people aren't even aware of these raids, because a lot of those companies never stopped selling the strains that they did before. But those that grew both the old and the new variations were able to tell the differences in the plants. What tended to happen here is that they would simply replace the cut they used with a sister or hybrid of the plant. But it's hardly ever going to be the same, especially when bred with. Since then, the Dutch have started to focus less on their traditional Hazes that made them popular in the 90s, but instead they often seek to release US varietals, things like Cookies and OG hybrids - despite the plants not representing these cuts in most cases. I smoked Dutch 'OG' for a while before I finally popped some real OG hybrids, and the differences were astounding. Since then I've popped dozens of OG hybrids and can safely say all the stuff I was getting from EU around OG was not true to the original thing. Replicas So what happens when the Dutch and Spanish breeders see Girl Scout Cookies surge in popularity? Since it was an American cut and was held pretty close, those seed banks in many cases aren't going to get hold of the cut - so they dig into their vault, find what looks the closest and maybe shares some similar traits and then they cross that together and give it the name Girl Scout Cookies and then people buy it, knowing none the wiser. This is somewhat similar to what the guy in OPs video is talking about. White label is still a more common approach than replicas, but replicas still do exist and they are a big problem. I've even seen some local breeders suggest they are working with OG Kush for instance, when there is not a single cut of the original OG Kush in South Africa (I'm pretty confident on this). Sure, you may have an OG hybrid, but even then in most cases the OGs that I see being popped are blatantly white label or replica. If you're looking to work with a particular genetic, source it from where it was found. Just like you probably wouldn't look to the US for a Haze historically, you probably shouldn't look to Europe for real OG. And this then ties into the next topic... Authenticity of breeding stock Not everyone is malicious, in many cases people are just uninformed or mislead themselves. Say for instance I hop on these forums and post a picture of a Chem 91 looking plant (of which I've found several in the S1s), if I were to tell people "Hey I've got a Chem 91 cut available" - I could even post pictures showing the same necrotic leaf traits and 'dog tongues' in the flower. Say guys got some from me and did some breeding work with it, they wouldn't even be aware that I had just given them a similar cut, but not the real thing. This is a massssssive problem, and I've seen it often. Guys who have been told that what they've got is this or that. And they will fight to the death that it is what they think it is. So as a breeder, it's really important, if you want to do things honestly, to try and have as best of a knowledge of how specific cuts express, especially if one is looking to use clone-only cuts. There are probably 50 different cuts of Cheese that go around, from 10 different breeders, but so many of those growers are convinced they have 'the Cheese'. This problem is bigger than people often like to admit, and no one is void from the impacts. There are well-respected breeders who have had to backtrack on what they claimed was in the line. This is particularly common with the Chem/Diesel/OG family, where a lot of similar, but inauthentic cuts exist. I spend a lot of time listening to The Breeder's Syndicate podcast, as I know the guys involved are pretty anal about provenance and establishing a history, as well as having been around for long enough to know the real thing from the fake. Some of the breeders that are typically associated with that circle as guys like Archive and CSI:Humboldt - two breeders I really trust when it comes to authenticity.' The Clone Market Finally, there's the clone market. Good god... The clone market... So similar to the above, with the authenticity of breeder stock - one can't understate the importance of authentic stock from clone banks. I won't mention names, but a rather popular local clone company imported stock from Europe and was advertising their new stock - but the stock they were advertising was clearly fake. The Girl Scout Cookies cut that they claimed to have looked like a classic Dutch, donkey-dick green plant. It was clearly not the real deal, and I don't think it was malicious, but I think that if you run a seedbank, it's worth making sure you can ID your cuts and have open communication with reliable growers who have grown the real thing, that can help you authenticate it. Not all cases are so benign though. There are clone companies who hunt packs of hybrids, select a cut from that pack and name it the parent it most looks like. And many guys think that because it comes with certificates that it means its legit. Certs are easy to fake and require a few minutes in photoshop to setup. Additionally, people assume that large companies with big websites and who sell themselves as leading clone experts can be trusted. Not only do many of these clone banks give you fake cuts, but they give you diseased plants that can wipe out your entire crop over time. One needs to be really careful about the clone market, especially when it comes to world renowned clone-only elites. Some of those cuts sell for tens of thousands of dollars - if someone is selling you big names with certs for pennies, that's something to raise your eyebrow at. Sorry for the rant - but I hope it proves useful, as things aren't always as cut and dry as one expects. When it comes to international genetics... I am still a huge fan of them. I want to source my genetics from those doing the largest hunts on the most authentic genetics. And in our current time period, that is the American market. But again... Know your breeders and do your research... Some international breeders I feel I can trust (just a few of many) - CSI:Humboldt - Archive Seed Bank - Swamp Boys - Jungle Boys - Bloom Seed Co - 707 Seedbank - Crickets & Cicada - Exotic Genetix - Lucky Dog - Riot - Kingdom Organics - Clearwater Genetics - Bodhi - Karma - Prolific Coast - The Source

  10. biggest difference between a potted plant and something planted directly into the earth is the symbiosis. the way things work in a pot and in the earth is not the same. you'll have areas where even when adding eggshells to the soil directly in the earth it's still gona take long to break down. certainly longer than any of the Ca sources I mentioned there. Even in a compost heap hardened sources of calcium such as eggshells and bone is some of the stuff that takes the longest to break down. now when you powder it, it certainly does speed up the process, but you gotta remember it's powder now so you just don't see it in a big chunk anymore, but it's still there bro. Just cause you can't see it doesn't mean it's decomposed already and much less so providing the plant accessible Ca. It takes longer dude, this is general knowledge for gardeners. a healthy compost heap is the top of the tier list when it comes to decomposing organic matter. now you work your way back down that tier list and a potted plant will be at the very opposite end of the spectrum. egg shell take reeeeaally long to release any Ca, probably won't even really start decomposing in a pot cause there is way too little activity. you can do the tests yourself

  11. hahah alright bro, I'll check my facts for ya. while I'm at it, can you please point me out or make up a good reason why you would compare eggshells to kryptonite just cause I said they take much longer to break down??? we leave our feelings at the door my guy. I am not trying to have a back and forth with you bud. Everything I say here is with good intention and simply because I don't appreciate the general misinformation people promote in the gardening community. It happens way too often that my granny takes some gardening advice from facebook and now her plants aren't doing well and I have to fix the problem. Well the problem wouldn't exist if it wasn't for people going around saying to put eggshells in their potted plants If you know all the extra steps you didn't mention before and shit that needs to be kept in check for breakdown of eggshells to make Ca available to the plant what are you trying to dodge here? You playing both sides bro, saying I am wrong but explaining the same shit I said. Did you read what I put in parenthesis literally right after mentioning the dolomite, that a very little bit goes a very long way cause it's very potent stuff...... yeah, that means don't over do it...... it's only when you over do it that your PH will swing, not just if there's too much in the soil for the plant to handle C'mon man? you know about the buffer in soil? cation exchange sites? a balance? Ca needs to be present in many different forms to balance the soil.... I'm talking bout Ca nitrate, Ca carbonate, Ca acetate, Ca chloride and the list goes on.... It's really not just as simple as "eggshell has calcium, put it in soil, now soil has calcium".

  12. That cat is how I feel with programming. I've tried to self-learn/self-teach myself so many times, and just get so demoralized, start gaining weight from being in the chair for so many hours, mental state takes a decline. Even the prospect of a better future is hard to keep me in that chair. On the radio the other night, business segment, they mentioned the "creator economy" content creation etc is a $104B industry and growing, how is it so difficult to get a slice of that pie?

I've considered maybe going to Thailand and growing bush there but the requirement is to have at least one national to be a 50% owner and sponsor for you and even then you're only allowed to stay in the country for only so many months at a time.

  14. Sadly a couple of battaries is not gona fix this problem. Off grid just means with due time who ever "leads" will find a way to benefit more from it than you as an SA citizen ever will. You live in SA and show yourself to have any kinda spending money you gona loose, just a matter of time. Saving my money on gimmicks. We've reached a point where being positive about the future of our country is being ignorant. First move I'll make is getting off this continent. Not only away from SA. The "richness" and the forced respect for the "culture" and the "pride" of the people down here is the problem. The inability to face the truth and make a change is the problem. The clown politicians who we see on the tv are just there cause they're dumb enough to show their faces. They just come to deliver a speech, but we all know bigger hands are at play. There's very little to absolutely no impact on the circus if you think about changing out the clowns for different clowns. The music and the show will stay the same. The problem is much muuuuuuuuuuuuuch deeper than just the "leaders". It's the majority of the followers too. And it's not just their status' as leaders or followers. It's the collective mentality. The ego. The "african" roots has run rotten to its core. Literally the exact same kak that happened in Zimbabwe, word for word and step by step, is happening here too. Steep downhill to banana republic. Getting away from here ASAP, watch the shit pile burn from a far. Less than no hope for this sad place. You can be however optimistic in your views and say my view is whatever you feel or think it is, point is - thinking it's never going to happen to this country is ignorant, because we're much muuuuuuuuch closer to shit hitting the fan than anyone cares to realise or admit, but still people will be patriorical and argue with stupid phrases like "I was born here, I'll die for this country" thinking there is some turning point we have already passed the point of no return somewhere around 25 to 30 years ago. SA citizens just gave the benefit of the doubt for the longest time, cause there are some actual good people, but it has proven to be a fail. Being a good person in SA - the land of all the cultural richness - means absolutely fokol. Infact it counts against you and you'll be walked over. It's wakey wakey time, we're all from earth, we're allowed to enjoy life. No one should keep struggling like this. If the people from this country wana be proud of their destructive ways, then so be it, you really can't help anyone who doesn't want the help and that's a problem on our part - thinking they know they need help. We should help ourselves, not the "fellow south africans". They know everything already can't teach these leaders anything. Afrika se ma se poef there is nothing here to be proud of The nature is mooi, but that's nature, people didn't make that. The constant struggle is not worth the view. and that's my

I am sorry that they are screwing the economy in its p''"s and wish one of our fake leaders had the balls to remove the well known skelms. Time to get off the grid, got two huge batteries today, and buying a new invertor on my way down to the East Coast Cannabis Cup.

  17. I know about that one... ANC trying to secure a platform for easy money extraction. And they did... now they can just take and don't have to show. Only solution really is to get off Eskom... or move out. Idea to move my ass to Namibia gets more and more present. So far loved my stay.. but.. Eskom will not get better and i really had a bit enough of load shedding... will get worse and more expensive. This country is terribly sick.. has a nasty form of ANC ^^ Corvid was a joke compared to the damage the ANC did to the country... what they will do if nobody stops them is also easy to predict.. ZAR will get declared to junk status and SA ends with the image of a banana republic. That can't be the goal.... sorry, foreigner ranting. But can't be the goal! In my country of birth they announced last year, that there might be power cuts due to lack of gas. People hit the road before there even was one.. and guess how often the power went out since... zero. If a government wants to solve things.. they can.. they just put somebody with the knowhow in charge. 13 years now you get one douche bag after the other set in place and gets worse and worse. When exactly do you South Africans plan to sort out your country? Just asking

  18. Yeah it was an 18.1% increase or something stupid. Best part is, if you missed this news, you probably missed the part that eskom has been EXEMPTED from submitting their financials regarding irregular/fruitless expenditure. Read more below: In a surprise move, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has exempted Eskom from disclosing irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure [notice 3247 of gazette 48354, 31 March 2023]. 20. Appreciate the love guys. Haha, didn't know that was you. But yeah man, I'm always keen to chat genetics and breeding. That's not a bad way to start the breeding journey in my opinion. For us the first step was establishing a library of females that we really loved over the years. Some of the cuts were found over 5 years ago and have kind of been waiting for their time to shine. The biggest challenge is running through enough seeds to find the things you're looking for. I used to grow 6-8 plants a run when growing for smoke, but now that I've been focusing a bit more on breeding, I'm scaling down the pot sizes and yields and focusing on just looking through as many genetics as possible. I'm fitting around 25 plants into a small tent at this point to run through, out of those there will probably be 3-4 females that get a second run from cut before narrowing down selections. For me, I love hunting through F1 and F2 populations, especially F2 for the recessive traits that become exposed, if you're able to look through enough plants to find them (or get lucky).

  21. So we are growing again, and this is the first run in the new greenhouse from a SA company called easy greenhouse, https://easygreenhouses.co.za/ very helpful and delivery didn't take long. Still a few more tasks to tackle namely, extraction and circulation fans, but for now, we have power and spotlights for extra veg time, blumats installed and digital soil moisture meter. a few wasted days/weeks however, as the environment is still being dialed in, and so is the soil, from the colour of the cover crop and plants, the soil is in well need of nitrogen and other basic dietary needs, which I have top dressed and watered in about a week ago. Whats growing... - 1 x Chimpancheese (first plants nearest to the door) - 1 x DSCxbrucebanner - 2 x Grandpa stash (in the 20litres) - 1 x Sky stomper reg(in the 15L) there is another one but it got fried after a couple of IPM sprays - 1 x Tortoni - another 1 x DSCxbrucebanner Cheers, lets see how easy or kuck hard it could be to grow in this greenhouse. Temps and Humidity shoot to absolute extremes despite the current season, so cold and wet at night 99% humidity, but really hot, 38 sometimes 40 degrees in the day, and 20% humidity. Don't think this will be feasible during summer. However ventilation is on the cards. Whole new ball game.
