  2. Last harvest done. No more plants, final stretch. Left the last three Critical + Amnesia Haze in darkness for 3 days. Final plant lifespan was 93 days, a bit over the recommended. Definitely was needed to let them grow longer, as I can see these three are fatter and have more trichomes than the other two I harvested earlier. Have learnt a lot The other plants just smoke and taste better every day, curing really does wonders. Thank you for sharing with my journey

  3. Radical Juice - Veg Training and spread are in development. I'm liking the growth so far. I have increased wattage to try shorten the internodal spacing. Reservoir is on, I should switch on the air supply as well. What's crazy is I haven't had to LST yet, the plants have just naturally grown out in a nice spread. Thanks WeedGod! Zombie Bride - 25 Days Since Flip I'm not really getting what I want out of the Zombie Bride yet. In terms of veg growth it's stretchy and fadey. The future of this strain is yet to be determined. ZxP - 7 Days Since Flip The one and only. I'll never leave you, ZxP Did a defoliation recently. Things are looking neat and tidy. Should probably slap the net in at some point.

  5. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cvpp7xAsq_J/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng== Most people know how difficult it is to get a start in the cannabis industry. FCUK I've tried for 3 years with limited budget and success. Like all my grows, when something goes wrong, I always go back to basics first. Started a retail nursery attached to a farm stall/coffee shop/restaurant. I'm local and most people know I'm a passionate grower of herbs especially the Mother Herb. And to steal someone else's saying I have a growing 'Pensioners Therapy' clientele growing out here in the bush. So I'll grow this gig one seed at a time and supply the local bush folk with, well, shit we don't get out here. So watch this space. Until I can get branded packaged seeds, in the pipe line, I am passing forward seeds gifted to me by some very special breeders that have always been supportive and helpful. Yes. 420 friendly. Depending on wind direction. Sent from my SM-A032F using Tapatalk

  6. Ok, so a bunch of things have shifted around, veg tent is now flower tent since these local genetics just exploding. flower tent just getting clean watering enough to keep soil 50% moist but not encourage much growth, also cut her back a whole bunch, reduced light and just letting her relax before the hard work starts. SSC now in w4 of flower #1 #2 #3 #4 #5

  7. Buds dry enough to pop off main stem, but still bounce back. Did a final trim on some of the smaller leaves, and now curing one batch. Other branches need a little longer. The bud is leafy, but I'm quite happy. Still have three other plants I'm letting flower for longer before harvesting.

  8. The current state of events. Big Tent Big tent has been reset from the last harvest. I've loaded her up with Radical Juice. That shit was so dangerous I definitely need to give it another round and in bulk Small Tent Doing something a little different here. I am growing ZxP but instead of the usual 4-way manifold I decided to play again with the 8-way manifold just to play around with space and canopy spread. I need to get in there and slap a net in soon. Just waiting for some more length on the branches. Organic Tent Here I am doing some Zombie Bride. I am honestly 50/50 on this one, I'm not sure whether I will keep the strain. The outcome of this grow will pretty much determine whether I keep it or not. I kept this particular strain for the aroma and terpenes. It smelt crazy desserty, so I am hoping for that experience again. I also plan on lollipoppin' the shit out of this one, no popcorn, cheers. I do see that the one plant on the bottom right is lagging behind a bit but it's colour is looking deep so I am not too worried.

  9. Aweh gromies, Outdoor flowering time is upon us, our ladies are stretching nicely. They got thinned out around the bottoms and topdressed with mature compost-dropping soil levels. Added powdered eggshell and watered in with AACT last week. Keeping a close eye IPM wise as our RH is high as usual. No serious issues so far. Allready harvested some early bloomers F1 Bluecheese (180gr jarred and curing) Strawberry Vostoks (60gr) Pics. 1-5. F1 Bluecheese, Charlottes Angels. 6. Fruitpunch, Vanilla Kush. 7. Gorilla Glue. 10. Been smoke testing them all this past week, verging on 3weeks cure now things are starting to speak up. Clear winner #4. Extremely resinous, and I don't mean trichome count. Resin is something inside the trichome. Trichomes themself don't make you high. Looking at one singular mature trichome the stalk and outer layer of resin head is basically a mix of pure celluloce and silica. The resin inside the resin head contains the tetrahydrocanabinol in all different forms and qualities. All 5 these SSC cuts had about the same trichome production/count, yet only #4 fucked my scissors to the point where I had to clean between every second or third bud or else the scissor will get stuck. You can draw your own conclusions with that information, clearly a lot more can and should be said, but for now here's the report. 1st Rundown - 10 to 12 weeks flower, had different expressions across 5 phenos, 1st plant to finish on week 10 but the rest clearly had to go longer, 2 plants harvested a week later and another 2 plants harvested on week 12. 5 plants in 1 year mature living soil built with my own worm castings and a shit ton of ongoing KNF treatments (FPJ, FPE, FFJ, FFE, LABS, SST, JMS and more) unfortunately not no till as each plant got their own 30L pot, so I had to disturb when loading pots. 5 different phenos warrent individual pots to avoid root zone competition and get a fuller expression of charactaristics. If I do a monocrop I will run a bed. Alternating between worm piss from my worm tower and clean water. One single topdress last week of veg. Jamies Elemental blend + Bat guano + Micronized Calcium. Total weight = 365g GPW = 1.2 #1 - 69g Gelato/Cookies terps. For the bulk suppliers this would be your pick on bag appeal alone. #2 - 77g Fruity/Floral terps with a hidden Gelato sweetness, but the least cookies leaning pheno of the bunch. #3 - 65g Straight Cookie sweet terps, most compact/smallest out of the bunch, really nice structure, rock hard dense buds. #4 - The keeper. 74g Chemical/Gas terps hit you right in the face, with a lingering cookie sweetness, heavy flavour covers the whole inside of your mouth, can't smoke enough of her. I prefer green weed over purple too, may be a placebo by now, but purple is a turn off. This bud sticky as fuuuug. #5 - 80g biggest yielder. Straight up and down Cookie terps all the way. Additional info - Have not processed any of the buds cause they're all good enough to smoke just the way they are. Trim got stuck in the bag, wouldn't fall out even when I shake the bag upside down open. got it on video for those who wana see. Took 40g of the trim to the press, got 4.5g 1st press and 3.6g on the second press. Total of 8.1g from 40g trim gives me a fat 20% return on the trim alone on par with some of the best bud. Pressed Peanut Butter Breath buds, got a 25% return so I know it goes higher, but 25% is about maxing it out for now, I've heard about 30% returns, just haven't worked with it before. All videos of the trim/press/rosin and what what will be thrown up on my instagram page. ethnobotany.winelands

  11. Harvested the Zombie Bride on day 60 of flip. Came out alright, lots of terps. Not much of a yielder but it will impress the people. ZxP still pushing through. Day 43 since flip. Defoliated the Radical Juice tent. Looking nice and neat now, very full tent. I think this is the biggest I would want to go in a tent like this. I had to do some super cropping on three overeager plants.

  12. I apologize to admin in advance. But Fcuk, this has been a looong veg period. Hoping on having the chill garden ready but you might have to bring your own beach brollie. Slowly but surely this nursery will be catering for the growers stuck out here. Or just a place to relax. So sorry admin. 17. Hey, So this grow is done and dusted, thought I would add it here as a start-to-finish diary. Substrate : Freedom Farm Premium Classic, amended with Dirty Hands Elemental Blend at 1L per 20L soil and a rooibos mulch on top. Nutrients : Biobizz (Grow, Bloom, Top-Max, Acta-Vera). Kushy Amino Acids, CalMag and Bud Juice Symbiotics. Genetics : Mandarin Cookies V2 from Ethos Genetics. There isn't many pics of Veg, because a cannabis plants looks like a cannabis plant, lets get onto the good stuff. I harvested just over 600 grams in dry weight in total, 400 grams of decent smokable buds and 200 odd grams of bud and offcuts to go towards some bubble hash. Well that's that, cheers for now.

We’re committed to providing South Africans with top-notch, locally-bred auto seeds at an affordable price. Join us in dispelling the notion that automatic seeds are solely expensive imports. Our cup celebrates the future of cannabis cultivation. History of Automatic Seeds: While relatively new to the industry, breeders have been experimenting with cross-breeding automatic (ruderalis) seeds since the late 1970s. The breakthrough came with the launch of the “Lowryder” strain by the Joint Doctor, demonstrating the potential of autoflowering cannabis ruderalis hybrids. What are Automatic Seeds? Automatic seeds are hybrids with ruderalis variety crossbred into them. Originating from Eastern Europe, ruderalis, named after the German word ‘ruderal,’ meaning ‘weeds growing by the roadside,’ has become a vital component in creating these hybrids. Why Grow Automatic Seeds from Bay Seeds? Local is lekker: Support local breeders enhancing our genetic diversity. Year-round cultivation: These seeds flower automatically, eliminating photoperiod sensitivity. High yield, short flowering time: Automatics yield big results when grown correctly, with a significantly shorter flowering time than other hybrids. https://www.biltongandbudz.co.za/autocup/

  21. Awe brother, hope and trust all is well on your side. Don't change anything now, autos don't like to be bothered at all. Your best shot now is to just get the feeding right. Autos you stunt once and they show you the finger, but for future reference.... The 3 part mix is usually 1:1:1 - peat:drainage:wormcastings. First I wana touch on the wormcastings, cause I see you put potting soil instead. When buying worm castings you gotta be a bit snobby, cause 95% of commercially available WC will have sand and some kinda "filler" mixed in to fill more bags. Anything that's available in bulk at commercial retailers will lack on the side of quality, cause they pushing for quantity and serving only the unknowing masses. I make my own WC so I know what I work with, but in my days of buying it, you get one kak batch and it will fuck your view of the stuff. Since building my own soil with my own 100% pure WC my organic living soils been pumping faster than some peoples hydro setups. Now you gotta know, if just the quality og worm castings put in can make such a big difference, there's obviously a HUGE drop in quality when you talk about nutrient availability in WC and potting soil... Potting soil...... eh..... I get nauseous when I have to talk about it. My passion is rare plant collecting, got a big greenhouse with some extremely rare plants. Been on it for up to 15 years now, learnt the hard way that potting soil is detremental to most plants. Double Grow, Reliance, Red Tracktor, Cultera, ALL OF THEM fall under this umbrella. Any generic potting soil will lead you "van die wal af in die sloot". I haven't bought a bag of potting soil in more than 10 years, that doesn't mean my family stopped with their shit or learnt their lesson by now, still wondering why each and every plant they bring home from the nurseries with a new pot with a fresh bag of potting soil with all the bells and whistles the nurseries make them buy, just instantly dies as soon as they repot them. I mean the answer is in there, just need to not be oblivious to it. I avoid potting soil even for my ornamental plants. For peat I avoid coco unless it's untreated and pre-buffered. Those coco bricks get treated with a sodium based product to compress them into those bricks, if they're unbuffered that sodium starts to affect your soil and you get major ph swings even when you do "organic" feeding. Calcium buffer will help the coco act like soil where it holds onto nutrients otherwise the coco will stay negatively charged with no cation exchange sites, so it'll fill your pots but the nutrients just run straight through or you get nutrient build up from the plant not being able to access it cause it's not breaking down into plant available compounds and then you get root burn and nutrient lock out and and and all the undesired rootzone problems. You can't have buffered peat that's compressed, cause the sodium treatment will undo the calcium buffer, and vice versa - part of the calcium buffer strips the coco of sodium, so you can only really buy untreated coco (extremely rare) or pre-buffered coco. Otherwise if you going for the cheap option you gotta put in the work and buffer it yourself. To skip all that, just get Sphagnum peat. works 1000 times better than coco, never goes negatively charged, no need to buffer, no sodium byproducts and just all around a better option. For drainage, skip perlite and go straight for leca. Endless reasons why, I'd love to tell you all the reasons, but I am sure by now you're getting tired of all the reading. If you want me to give the reasons just say so and I'll drop the info. I hope you're not one to be diacouraged by reading more than 2 or 3 sentences, as with all crafts people enjoy, if you're into something you gotta be into it at least a little and not give only the bare minimum and then expect the best results. more often than not a short snappy response will lead you further from where you need to be, because we all interpret things differently. forums are a thing these days cause people don't always have the time and means to go read a whole book or do deep research on something just to get the 1 single answer you looking for, so a forum allows people to ask a question directly and get a answer directly - hopefully from people who know what they talking about and the majority of the time people don't, they just wana "help" so they throw in their but infact answers to things that has more than one variable will never be direct and short. there are many ways to grow a plant, like these people say seem like your plant is fine and it will obviously grow, but for sure there are "better ways". If you think about it, the very very best grower in the world still tinkers and tweaks his methods to improve what he's doing cause there is always room for improvement, no matter what the level of expertise.

  22. Aweh fellow florists Summer is upon us and the growing season is afoot. Hope everyones' got their soils cooking. We've been experiencing a bit of everything, our garden is an example of opposites. Chopped a few ladies really late, at the "wrong time" of the year.(Not supposed to be havesting in Oct) Flowers looked good. One big sativa lady busy revegging, topped her twice during veg to push her into flower early, but she wasn't having any of it. The f1 Bluecheese phenohunt girls doing well in 60lt tubs. Hoping for a decent "cheese" and/or "blueberry" pheno. Backed up some clones, rooted in 14days. Will be planting out into 20lt growbags. Next round of seedlings in 9lt bags for sexing. Sifted 240lt compost and latest 200lt batch of diy "supersoil" is nearing completion for the grow bags. So we're off to a bang this season. Cheers

  26. Contact Dagga Farmacy. Natie, the founder, and his son is currently traveling all over SA and with each journey they announce self deliviries or courier options, so they do spread far and wide. Natie is a guru, true to the plant through and through. He's been in this industry longer than most. He's one of the lecturers for Cheeba in many of their courses, he got his fingers in the start up of Qure Analytics, Dagga Famracy is also protected by FOGFA, who's also protected by SAHPRA. Majority of their strains are phenohunted and they always have new stuff they still working through. Dagga Farmacy gotta be one of the most legit clone suppliers in SA. All the other names just come and go, fluctuating reports and strange service situations. They're a family run business, about a 1 min drive from my house, been there more times than I can count. You can contact them and chat with them if you wana know more about the background of their stuff, nothing but love and passion for thw plant there. Here's their current availability list blowing any competition right out the water, and it gets updated weekly, they mean business. You can even buy ready to flower sized plants.

  28. Peanut Butter Breath x Green Crack Thank you sir, I don't always improve from grow to grow, but I feel like I got the spacing a bit better this time. I have to be more aggressive with defol before flip, but I always find it difficult. You're way too kind man. I don't usually shine a light on the negative points/things that happen, but I appreciate your comments. Yep, I'm quite interested in hybrid methods. Most everything I do is borrowed from somewhere else, with the idea of starting with organic soil and myco for an easy start, and then gradually introducing salts around late veg making for a simplified process. I don't go too hard on the salts, since where I grow I'm not able to control all the other environmental parameters to their optimum anyway. I actually have only recently started to follow the Coco-coir protocol of watering to excess and then removing that (with a big syringe). So in reality I've prob always been suffering from some degree of salt build up. So tbh my watering technique was dogS, I would let the roots soak up the excess in the tray. But I'd also occasionally feed straight water, so perhaps that helped to alleviate problems. However I've bought FF Coco-coir (90-10 because of the air-pots)(and cheaper than green bag) and earth worm castings (borrowed from "Scotty" from that YouTube grow show, although he adds some other stuff as well) for a hybrid Coco substrate thing. I'll also be making a bunch of CO2 bottles using sugar and yeast. Also switching to EHG nutes due to lower cost, and watering to excess at least once a day. Hoping to progress to the next level and stop making the same mistakes over and over. I decided to make the switch after watching Migro's Coco vs organic & non-CO2 vs CO2 comparison grows. (CO2 adds 30% growth rate at all par levels) Since I pH test every time anyway, that was another reason to switch to Coco. (with dropper solution, really quick to do and could never get the hang of the cheap pen I bought with all the different calibration solutions etc.), I'll be aiming for 6.0ish. Hard at work bringing my own 100% original, shape-transforming light design to market, so still keeping the grow protocol simple yet upgrading is super helpful.

  32. Final update for this diary bud shots of the Amnesia Haze My Critical's I wet trimmed, so with the Amnesia I chose dry trim to experiment. I also did the whole 2-3 days of darkness before harvest this time, just to try it. Not sure if it contributed, but these are for sure frostier than the Criticals. To be fair these did flower a lot longer, as needed with Haze strains. 15 days controlled dry in the dark tent, whole plants with leaves. Long and slow. Dry trimmed now, and time to cure. Quite "fluffy" bud, a fair amount of leaves and not very dense. But for a first attempt I'm happy.

  34. I do have a recommendation, though I can't say the thing without giving my whole reason, cause it might sound way out if I don't explain. You're making the right move brother. I'm in the same boat as you. Though I got a wnole dab rig setup and and and it's just gathering dust cause there's just too many bells and whistles to get to before I can smoke. I have thought of getting myself the Q7 from hydrobizz, it's a portable E nail. Out of, well basically everyone I know that smokes concentrates no one uses a pen/cart. Almost all of them have gone through the tier list, starting with the pens and stuff, then they end up getting something better. I know guys that dropped that 5 to 7k when the first flower & concentrate hand held vape thing came out, cause it was so revolutionary. All those guys smoke flower bongs these days. the entourage effect is just too good. you move over to concentrates completely, as a weed smoker your body will not be satisfied and you'll find yourself lacking being high the way you remember it. I do however wana smoke much less bongs, and more concentrates, though I will never completely stop. It'll be more of an experience thing, like the unmatched terp experience you get from hitting a perfect solventless dab, and then just less bongs to give my lungs a bit of a break. Though, through everyone elses experience with all extract smoking equipment I got the insentive to skip over all the cheap shit and save my money for the proper Puffco experience. Either getting a Proxy or if time treats me nicely I'll hop on the Peak straight away. Not gona waste time or money on testing more expensive stuff that'll just set me back all the while. Same with my extract, just been collecting and piling up, cause I keep working my trim and and and... had to dig in my heels and stop myself so I can put money away for a press. no point in wasting time and money on making bho kak just cz I wana dab like the rest of everyone. naaaahhh, rather do nothing and save time and money for the real deal, who knows maybe in the time I am saving a new better thing will arise and then I'll hop on that. I see Piatella is all the hype now, people getting off the rosin and stuff, things change so fast. I know I rambled a bunch, but I hope it helped?

  35. I have clones to hand out.. keep the genetics alive if somebody is interested. Ginger Tea, Gelato (2 versions, Thin Mint Cookie or Orange Sherbet dominant, original are 42FastBuds autos), Slurricane, Deluxe Sugarcane, JetFuel, Sour Diesel, Bubblelicious, Exodus Cheese and White Widow. Limited amount first comes, first serves. Just write me a PM.. And cleaned the tray up as I can move again ^^ Still a good 6 weeks to go.. but looking OK so far. What I can say to my soil tray growing.. I will keep that, way better as growing in pots. But.. is not good for all strains. The Exodus Cheese for example, doesn't grow a lot on the root section during flowering. JetFuel, Deluxe Sugarcane and Slurricane on the other hand love to extend their roots. Some grew over a meter into the tray. The big change are the buds.. all "Explorer" plants gave me record size colas for clone plants. Reached female fist size buds... not measured the harvest yet, but from the amount of jars i got.. might have reached the 1kg dry goal (Mars TS-3000, 450 watts plug draw) with the JetFuel tray.. or got very close. If you play with clones... i would try it.. also very fast to water.. I just dump a 20L bucket into the tray (biological fertilizer in soil, so no pH done). BioBizz FishMix (2-4ml/L) and Bloom (2-4ml/L), Molasses (de-sulphurated, a LOT, at least 100ml per feeding), Amino Acids from Kushy (4ml/10L), 5 in 1 humic and vulvic acids (5 times total, recommended amount). Test when to water needs a bit digging with one finger, if I need to dig deeper as 5-8cm to reach moist soil, I give 20 Liters. I keep the corners of the tray empty, otherwise rows of 6 clones in a 1.2x1.2 tray.. ergo 32 plants, radical lollypop dressing and FIM'ed a week before they go into the flower tray from the 2.8L pots they had during vegetative growing. I suggest to run one strain per tray to have less 'stretch' issues and light hanging consequences. I put the smaller plants in the middle section and the taller ones more to the outside. When to put them into flower is the tricky part.. to big and you have a height issue, to small and you have a harvest issue. Depends a bit on each strain and the second tray will end better.. but you have to test each strain and see if they like the space for the roots.. or not. Heavy stretching plants will need two nets to keep em up! Would always work with support on clones, they just don't have the same stem strength as a seed plant. So as usual, keep it simple ^^ less to debug. Late addon: Leaf discoloring is from the Copper Soap hose down before they formed flowers. With the power outs and ventilation cuts.. plus only one section is running in the 2.4x2.4 tent, so less warm and more humidity issues.. I give them a chemical mace just before the flowers prevent you from doing that. I use 20ml Copper Soap per Liter for the hose down (also under the leaves sprayed and stems), should keep PM off the plants for 3-5 weeks. I also shut down only lights, ventilation for the tent is still as it would be full, 2 TD-500 in and 2 TD-500 out plus 4 mixers inside the tent. If the tray ends well... I will enter that weed into the Cannabis Competition for next year.. just a buddy will hand it in for me ^^

  38. I basically give Fishmix (1ml/1L) and Kushy amino acid (or bio heaven) with almost every feed during veg (once a week I just give plain water, rest of the time it's biobizz). When I flip the lights to 12/12, I then switch to using: Week 1: Grow (1ml/1L), Bloom (1ml/1L), Top-Max (1ml/1L), Kushy Amino (3ml / 10L) - Every Watering Week 2: Grow (1ml/1L), Bloom (2ml/1L), Top-Max (1ml/1L), Kushy Amino (4ml / 10L) - Every Watering Week 3: Grow (1ml/1L), Bloom (2ml/1L), Top-Max (1ml/1L), Kushy Amino (4ml / 10L) - Every Watering Week 4: Grow (1ml/1L), Bloom (3ml/1L), Top-Max (1ml/1L), Kushy Amino (4ml / 10L) - Every Watering Week 5: Grow (0.5ml/1L), Bloom (4ml/1L), Top-Max (4ml/1L), Kushy Amino (4ml / 10L) - Every Watering Week 6: Grow (0.5ml/1L), Bloom (4ml/1L), Top-Max (4ml/1L), Kushy Amino (4ml / 10L) - Every Watering Week 7: Grow (0.5ml/1L), Bloom (4ml/1L), Top-Max (4ml/1L), Kushy Amino (4ml / 10L) - Every Watering Week 8: Just Plain water Week 9: Just Plain water I also add CalMag, Silica and microbes in once a week through veg until week 5 of flower. Now depending on what amendments you have in your soil will depend on how you adjust the above, for example if you using freedom farms green bag, then the above is perfect. If for example you have amended your freedom farms with something like the Dirty Hands Elemental Blend, then you would still use the same quantities as above, except not every watering, more like every 2nd watering. This is what I do since I amend freedom farms with elemental blend - This works out cheaper on nutrients (Basically works out to R26 per plant to half my biobizz nutrients) and you get the same result as using biobizz with every watering.

  39. It’s been a while. We’re in week 5 of flower now. Had solar put in so no more struggling with the Eskom kak. Also invested in the Migro UV for the added terps at the end. And the Fluence is back in the tent.

  40. ZxP harvest done and dusted. Yield was a bit low but way, way better than the beginning of the year. From 160g to 500g, more than double, but not quite the target goal of 800g. I do believe the cold played a major part. I attempted this year to skip any additional heating to save on costs and to also experiment with the possibilities. The result is roughly a 33% decrease in yield. Needless to say I think I will be adding additional heating again to the room next winter. Either will run the AC or use heating panels. Will need to do the math first. Next update will be what's going on in the other tents.
