I would suggest setting your flower light schedule from 9PM to 9am. This is a good move for heat management anyway Yes eskom does load shed during the midnight hours from time to time but not that often. They most commonly load shed from 9am to 10PM so at least you get 11 hours of light in when load shedding runs

Very smart move to do your research before jumping straight into it! With an 80x80 tent you need to factor in heat. With summer on its way and a good few warm months ahead, heat can be a real problem. In veg it can be dealt with but in flower it can cause all sorts of issues. Naturally, a flowering cannabis plant would gradually experience declining temps, not rising temps. The higher the wattage bulb the more heat gets released. In an 80x80 tent 400w is definitely the limit with HID and even that could be too hot at times but your options do sit between a 250w or 400w. Most grow stores dont stock 250w ballasts so a 400w ballast would be your best bet. Dont buy a ballast that pulls more wattage than the bulb, it needs to match. Unless you get a digital ballast which can be dimmed to match the bulbs wattage. A 600w ballast will end a 400w bulb's life very quickly You may be able to mitigate the heat issue with a LED light, there are plenty members here who are more knowledgeable on that subject. Although I'm not sure whether your current budget could accommodate an LED that could match up to a 400w HID so HID might just be your best bet at present with that budget

I use a 45l/min pump and does the job well for an airlift brewer in a 25L bucket. There is a way to check whether your flow rate coming out the pipe is good enough for sufficient aeration and mine passed the test quite easily... This video will give you a better idea of the flow rate

That list that Live Canna supplied will do... although I cant really see how phosphoric acid would do any harm to microlife and such. It's used as PH down with hydro. It's also used with beer brewing to lower PH so I really don't see any harm in using it. I found lowering ph with things like vinegar or lemon juice took a lot of the stuff to get the desired results to the point that my water stank of the stuff. Whereas with phosphoric acid you just need a few drops. There are also options like nitric acid or citric acid(essentially concentrated acid from a lemon). Up to you though what ultimate route you wanna take.

As anticipated, people are still joining up to vent their frustrations with Cannabist... rightfully so! I would too... To avoid a pile up of related threads I am creating this post for members to link to when necessary, shortly thereafter the thread will be deleted. The situation It's gotten to the point where the number almost seems like hundreds, but there have been a very large of number of people who have joined 420SA to find out what they can do about their order that has not been fulfilled by Cannabist. This has been going on months now after the lockdown started and the common thread that has developed is that there is ZERO communication from Cannabist and this can draw out for weeks, even months. What's their excuse? Their excuse is the lockdown... a terrible excuse but it's their excuse nonetheless. Have you been scammed? No.... well at least not from the onset and Cannabist has been operating legitimately for the last year or so. We suspect there may be a break in their supply chain, a terrible error of judgement on their part which has screwed everyone over including themself. They are for the most part a drop shipping bank i.e. they take your money, pay it onto their supplier who will then send the seeds. Something has gone very wrong in the whole process So what now? Firstly, drop your expectations of being helped soon. They seem in no rush to value you as a customer and will not rush to inform you of when you might be getting your seeds. As they are a seedbank you unfortunately don't have the consumer protection act to help you, although I'm not 100% clued up on that. We'd suggest that you pursue other seeds in the mean while but continue to put pressure on them to fulfill your order. Put pressure on OZOW to remove them Ozow is a payment platform they recently signed up. Alert them to your situation and get other buyers to do the same! https://ozow.com/ Good luck out there!

You are one of the many many many victims bud. I'm sorry to say. You were not scammed but a victim of false promises and terrible service. They have been screwing up for almost 3 months now. Keep pushing and you will most likely come right eventually. There isn't much more we can do to help unfortunately

Nice thread idea @PsyCLown! In my school days I was largely against it actually. I had a few friends that began to smoke it quite a lot in grade 11 and 12, they used to head out on a scooter to the local taxi rank and grab a matchbox of jut from the taxi washer there. Twas more seed than bud! Even though I partook at times, and enjoyed myself immensely, I was still for the most part against it and stupidly worried that this "drug" would take over me, get me hooked, and send my life on a downward spiral....Idiot About 6 months or so after finishing matric I gradually started to indulge more and more with my mates, and as I grew to enjoy it more and more I started researching about it more and began to learn that what I've been told about cannabis simply wasn't true and that it's in fact safe to use, more so than booze. It's hard to pin point where it became the norm with me but one of the big factors was music and how much I would enjoy it while high, I also remember realising how it was shifting my perspective on things... the natural world and how everything is more connected than I'd previously realised or bothered to take note of ... I just enjoyed the way it made me see things. I still do 12 years later and I'm a solid every day user. Have I thought of quitting at times? Most definitely. Sometimes I feel I depend a little too much on it but I do feel that it helps me. I have a mild form of A.D.D and cannabis definitely helps to calm my mind and help me focus. Teachers in school strongly advised I go on Ritalin and I'm forever thankful my dad told them to fuck right off. Eventually I found the natural solution and being a person that sits at a PC all day, I can't bare to think how I would manage without it. So as far as that's concerned it's a medicine for me. Sometimes it makes me a little anxious but that stems from a current mindset. I know that because it doesn't always make me anxious. It's also strain dependent so there definitely is validity in finding the strain that works for you. I reckon everyone can attest to the fact that we all need those few hours of just not giving a fuck and cannabis does wonders for that. Bill Hicks sums that up beautifully with his line about waking up at noon and playing the citar if you haven't seen Bill Hick's standup then make sure you do! Pretty boring story but its a story nonetheless
