Hot temps can lead to airy bud, prolonged maturity, reduced yield and in some cases burn (mostly due to lights) A common feature of my plants is upward cupping of the leaves which is the first sign of heat stress The edges will turn upwards as too much transpiration occurs. The leaves also tend to get crispier and more brittle Definitely something you wanna avoid. Keeping the roots at a more stable temp by watering more often can help the situation a bit but yea... only a bit

I also suffer the same issue. It's my nemesis with growing in the lowveld and its one I can't fight in the summer. Like you, I can't afford to run an AC. In Nov,Dec,Jan my flower tent was hitting temps of 38 consistently. Some nights 40 because the ambient temp outside was around 32! All we can do is wait for winter. I used to hate winter... not anymore lol. If ventilation is sorted, the only way to reduce heat is an AC

It does, lets hope she is awesome. Was a freebie I also have a Rare Dankness Scotts OG regular and a Rare Dankness Starkiller reg on the go. Pretty sure the preflowers on the Starkiller are showing male though Scotts still to be confirmed. Had some real shit luck with the Scotts OG. Bought 3 regular Scott's OG seeds and only 1 of the 3 germed. That doesn't help things when you're buying regular seeds...

Have been testing Organics Matter's newly released living soil on this HSO Amherst Sour Diesel. She was transplanted into the soil just before flower. I'm genuinely impressed with this soil. Have not used a single drop of bottled nute on her. Gave her one watering with coconut water. Otherwise humic, fulvic and EM. She's 7 weeks through flower now Gonna be testing a few other strains in the same mix as well. Including a Royal Queen Seeds Chocolate Haze and a Delicious seeds Sugar Black Rose. Will keep you guys updated!

Good points on making more effort to preserve our landraces. It's a mammoth task but if we want cannabis tourism to be a big thing here we definitely need to make an effort. @Totemic perhaps a bucket list project

2018 was a good year alright. Tough to let go

Sorry that shouldn't be misinterpreted as a guideline for future competitions. The fact is that plants late in flower, if in good condition, will have a greater chance of winning than younger plants. Mainly due to the fact of the buds being bigger. That's not to say a younger plant cant win over an older plant though because not all plants late in flower are grown well...so there is an element of luck in each month's competition. Your plant did come 2nd @Clint. Unfortunately there's no 2nd prize though Please do keep entering.

So... which lucky fuckers are going to this year's event?

The decision was a unanimous one between @Toby and @Justin Hemp , and myself. The winner is @Hochymama Congratulations I'll be contacting you via PM To the other guys, be sure to enter this month's POTM which we're currently finalising. Some of your plants just need more time. The winning plant below:

When is the time to harvest a high CBD strain?
420SA replied to 420SA's topic in Harvesting,Drying & Curing
Was given advice to wait until the swell was over and then to harvest, to allow for as much mass as possible -
