    Roll Call

Sup fellas. Name is Sean From Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. I smoke copious amounts of weed and couldn't be more proud it! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  2. Howzit guys With todays judgement still fresh in the minds I just want to update you guys on the forum going forward. Ive seen guys mention issues with uploading. Also seen a mention of the need to upgrade the forum software. Can assure you guys that these are all areas of concern for me and am well aware of them. First on the list is the launch of our sister magazine site which is still being developed but nearing completion. Unfortunately time is a factor for me which has left that site in dormancy for quite some time now. The full time day job takes priority at the moment Im afraid but that will be changing and things will be speeding up immensely. Second on the list is the upgrade of the forum software. A major upgrade of the forum software is long overdue and the developers of the software are busy with it, but progress is slow. We should hopefully be seeing something major happen in the next few months with that. If nothing happens, other options will be looked at. I do want this forum to be as easy to use as possible for all of you but that isnt always easy to make a reality. Its near impossible to keep up with the capabilities of social media sites that we're becoming accustomed to so there needs to be leeway in that regard. Their development teams are made up of many highly skilled individuals paid high salaries to make sure you are posting content as fast as you possibly can in the easiest way possible. Excuses aside, I assure you that 420SA wants your experience here to be as pleasant as possible and we're working on it [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

    D-Day (dagga day)

A historic day for SA and the global cannabis culture in general. We may have issues in our country but we have one of the best constitutions in the world. Thank you Ras Gareth Prince, Jeremy Acton and the Dagga couple for the incredible work you guys have done over the years. Its THEM who made this happen for us and we have a lot to owe them Enjoy your crime free smoke today Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for joining the forum Nama420 Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  5. Payment can be made via EFT, Credit card or Bitcoin with most seedbanks yes. As for the post office... Im still waiting on an order from the end of May. Still sitting at the international mail centre in JHB. Things may be different at Cape Mail though for the cape guys. That being said, the post office has pledged to get things back to normal at the end of this month. I will let you guys know if that is the case. Supporting local is always encouraged but the price is much higher. Plus you have a much bigger choice from seedbanks abroad. Definitely give them a try Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  6. So glad we are finally hearing about this. Quietly optimistic about it. Hoping todays result in the rugby is a precursor! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  7. Totally agree. Cannabis grew just fine without us for thousands of years so intervention at the beginning isn't necessary. Once you've got a grip of how to grow the plant, then you can look at boosting your yields. On the other hand if you're dead set on getting as much out of your grow as you can, then look at the basic methods like LST as Josh says or even just an old fashioned topping.
  8. Shit dude not quite sure what the fack you just said there but I'm assuming you're asking if that's perlite? Yes it is. I use a normal flat bottomed plastic container for clones. I don't like to leave the clones sitting flat on the bottom so i "suspend" them on a layer of perlite
  9. Did the seeds sink immediately after being placed in the water? Usually that's a bad sign
  10. Can the world just chill the fuck out about this https://www.fin24.com/Companies/ICT/elon-musks-decision-to-blaze-up-goes-against-ceo-rules-analyst-20180909-2
  11. Today is flower day #1 for the original flowering plants. They stay in the large tent and the clones have gone into a 80 x 80 tent to continue with their veg. Theyre under a LED floodlight temporarily until I get a 250w MH in there, probably tonight. Gave the organics a feed yesterday with coconut water. The other clones have rooted and gone into their pots. So here's the clones that have been added to the lineup: P.O #1 clone - in hydro P.O #2 clone - in hydro P.O #3 clone - organic B.K clone - organic A.S.D clone - organic Each plant has its clone in the opposite medium Here's the original plants pre switching to flower. 12. They're in the final pots. A little worried about whether those 20L pots will be enough for the organics to be honest, especially without any substantial feeding... but will see, perhaps I may have to get some Biobizz as backup. The hydros will be fine. Will be flipping to 12/12 today What are you using to keep your hydro cool ? I've never grown hydro and will be attempting / building my first hydro setup in the coming weeks. All the hydro coolers i've looked around for cost in the region of around 9K... I think you're under the impression that I'm growing in deep water culture which I'm not. Just growing in coco/perlite, top feed drain to waste. Never grown in DWC personally.
  13. Thanks dude. I'm still a bit nervous about the organics towards the latter stages. You're trying a similar recipe right?
  14. They're in the final pots. A little worried about whether those 20L pots will be enough for the organics to be honest, especially without any substantial feeding... but will see, perhaps I may have to get some Biobizz as backup. The hydros will be fine. Will be flipping to 12/12 today
  15. My apologies bud you're 110% right, I actually made this into its own thread shortly after my lazy reply to allow guys to answer your question. Was actually meant to remove my reply cos as you say, that's what the forum is here for you're more than welcome to change the thread title if you want.
  16. I remember this issue when I was still in the cape all too well. Having a box with a ventilation fan wont do the job if the fan is pulling in air with a high humidity anyway, the box may decrease the RH a few % if at all. Unfortunately the next step is an expensive one... you'll most likely need a dehumidifier. I had to use my portable AC's dehumidifier function
  17. I would tell you bud but Google will be your best friend in this case as you'll get far more comprehensive answers... Just google each term followed by the word "cannabis" e.g search " Fluxing cannabis" "LST cannabis" and so on.
  18. I was well impressed with Trophy seeds service and I really hope he goes the distance. I don't think he's overpriced, I assume he orders from seed banks overseas(retail) and so has to make some kind of profit.
  19. Quick update The organics got their compost tea on Sunday. Just a straight forward brew with ewc and molasses only. Started the brew on Friday night Almost time to flip the original 5 plants and get the newly potted clones into their own veg tent. Pic taken last night Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  20. So a brief read says that autoflowering is a genetic trait that evolved in strains that were situated in areas with very long days. Makes more sense than the assumption I had that breeders manipulate like they do with fems With regard to clones... I would like clarity on this as well cause my assumption is that if you grow out an auto seed and then top it and use the top as a clone, the clone will still flower at the same time as the mother plant and not "reset", so you really wont have much time to clone. Im not even sure if auto growers do top the plant? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  21. I don't hate on autos personally, I just wouldn't buy an auto seed out of choice. I prefer control over when the plant starts to flower as you can decide how big you want the plant to be. I also don't trust the genetics. I don't fully know the science behind how they make it flower automatically but it's been manipulated to behave "unnaturally" and that just puts me off and to me seems likely to produce issues. I guess its a purist thing. If I had the choice I'd only be growing out regulars as even fems tend to have their issues but the pros outweigh the cons in that case. To this day the fattest buds I have grown out came from a reg seed.... I wouldn't say autos are any easier to grow than regs or fems either. The feeding regimen stays the same. I also can't see how changing the light hours is a hassle. The only way I can see it being a hassle is if the grower can't afford a timer and therefore wants to run on a permanent 24h light schedule all the way through. In that case the excessive electricity used would actually far exceed the price of a timer.... Also, you can't clone autos. The only use I see for autos is outdoors, where the seasons dictate when your plant will flower. You can cheat that with autos and get more harvests in a year. Again, I'm not hating or being funny here but that is the only benefit I see to autos. What I see a lot is that beginner growers almost always think that autos are the one's to go for but personally I would never suggest it to them. As Josh says, they don't give you turnaround time so if you stuff up along the way you are costing yourself come harvest time or you may not be able to recover the plant.
  22. Another article covering how much worse alcohol is for you than cannabis. Problem is, what difference do all these articles make when the lawmakers are clearly turning a blind eye... We took a scientific look at whether dagga or alcohol is worse for you — and there appears to be a winner https://www.businessinsider.co.za/alcohol-marijuana-which-worse-health-2017-11? shared via @News24 Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  23. Don't get me wrong I do know of the benefits and yes it will make a difference but its another cost I would just prefer to avoid as the plants can do without added co2 Interested to hear about your R50 co2 generator though
  24. Growguru sent the bottle to me to test out. No way you'll see me paying R250 every 2 weeks for co2. Adding co2 to a grow like this doesn't seem worthwhile to me anyway but hey... let's see
  25. Time for a little update I topped and cloned the sour diesel and the P.O #3 last Saturday. Unfortunately the P.O #1 clone didn't root so I cut a little further up the stem, dipped in root gel and will try again with that one. Fortunately the P.O#2 clone and B.K clone both rooted nicely and are now in their respective mediums. The P.O #2 goes into the hydro mix and the B.K goes into my organic seedling mix. Here's the B.K clone Here's a pic from the tent last night. The B.K is starting to catch up to the organics even though the B.K always seems a bit hungry to me, even when I up the feeds she just doesn't seem to respond like the other 2 hydros, it may be a funny pheno or she's just a heavy feeder. The 2 organics will get their first compost tea this Saturday Grow guru sent this to me a short while ago. Will be hard to know how much difference it is actually making. Bit of a skeptic with these but let's see.
