  2. A few stores sell them now. Organics matter near me sells the freedom pots too. They're quite pricey so I wanna make my own in hope that it'll save me a bit of cash
  3. This guy uses a material called "eco felt". Also looks similar to geotextile. https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/diy-fabric-grow-pots-cannabags-made-from-eco-felt.204644/ As mentioned I bought felt the other day. The light permeability is minimal which is good but the material is just a bit stretchy, I dont think it'll tear but I wouldve like something a little more stiff Heres a pic of it, I might just stick with this
  4. I don't think so. I think the one we should be looking for is probably the heat bonded one. Google "geotextile" and then look under the images tab, then also google "fabric pots" and look under the images tab. The majority of the fabric pots use that specific type. Here's geotextile Here's a few examples of different fabric pots Can you see the similarity in material used? I think the non woven poly is the fabric they use for re-usable shopping bags. Here's non woven polypropylene . Seems like it would work too but the majority seem to use the material above
  5. What are the best available fabric pots on the local market? I don't think you'll find much difference between all the fabric pots available locally, or abroad for that matter. If they can hold up and are UV resistant then they'll do the job. I'm looking at the geotextile as that what seems to be commonly used.
  6. Does anyone know where you can find geotextile material like they use to make fabric pots? The method of making them is relatively easy, finding the right material is proving difficult. I got some felt from a local material wholesaler and seems alright for the job, it just isn't as stiff and durable as the material on my store bought fabric pots.
  7. Have been feeding about every 3-4 days, waiting for the pots to get dryish. Always have done that in the beginning stages and then upped the tempo in the latter. Now that they're in their new pots it's every 2 days. I've never seen the need to go more frequently. A mate of mine has pointed out this dude to me lately. His name is Don Juan Matus. The guy feeds 6 times a day with no runoff, its crazy but the reasoning behind it makes plenty sense. Here's his thread on icmag https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=300255 Definitely gonna give this method a try with 1 or 2 plants later on
  8. Hope you guys are enjoying your Saturday so far! We've just updated our logo. Hope you guys like the new look If you're still seeing the old logo press Ctrl + F5 or clear your browser cache
  9. Right now the organic plants are way ahead. If you compare the hydro P.O and organic P.O's there's a big difference in growth. To be honest that's not what I expected, as the common perception is that hydro is a quicker grower but that's not the case here.Yes, the hydro P.O is a different pheno but I can just tell with the overall health of the plants as well. The leaves on the organic feel and look healthier...with that being said I do feel that I've been a bit infrequent with the hydro feedings and am going to be feeding more frequently now. I think once we pass week 3 or 4 of flower I think we can re-assess things. My humic is the Growguru humic mix in liquid form. First time using it. It's also available from Organics matter in granular form. Below is a pic of the plants taken this evening. Hydross settling well into their new pots Top row(left to right): Purple Orange #3 Hydro, Amherst Sour Diesel Hydro, Blue Kush Bottom row(left to right): Purple Orange #2 Soil, Purple Orange #1 Soil Have a top weekend! 11. Interesting... anyone got an idea how this extraction actually works? https://www.marijuanatimes.org/researchers-use-espresso-machine-as-cannabis-extraction-device/
  12. Quite a bit has happended. The two organics were topped and cloned last Friday. I gave them a watering last night with some Humic acid The hydros went into their finals pots yesterday. The Blue Kush(top right) also got its topping last Sunday. The other 2 aren't quite ready yet for theirs Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  13. Also been looking into potash Have you been using your own wood ash or been sourcing it?
  14. Anyone else suffering because of this backlog? My seeds are part of those 38 million items :'( Cleared before the end of September they say...let's hope so... https://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/national/2018-08-20-post-office-gives-priority-to-clearing-massive-backlog/

  19. Update Veg Day 31 Howzit guys It's been a while since my last update, apologies. Been away for the last few days since Monday and didn't get a chance to give an update before I left. Last Sunday I realised that it was time for a repot of the 2 x P.O organics before I left the following Monday. As you can see in the first pic below they were starting to droop with a tinge of yellowing starting on the bottom set of leaves. I potted up into 20L fabric pots with my own living soil recipe. Gave them a water and left them until I returned today. They're looking happy. Also fed the hydro plants on Sunday night and as you can see they're really thirsty. I'll give them some straight water tonight. Also contemplating potting them up. The 2 P.O organics will be topped and cloned tonight. I'm still not sure whether the hydro plants can be topped yet, I'll decide that tonight. One of the P.O organics pre transplant State of affairs 5 days later Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  20. Was a long deserved break for a few days. Been a busy couple months. High most definitely, keep the joints in my fly box
  21. Lol I'll be back home this afternoon to give an update. Been fly fishing in Dullstroom since Monday. I can provide this pic so long. Been monitoring my plants with the Alfred app. Organics were transplanted last Sunday night. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  22. Taken last night Swapped the 250w MH for a 400w MH Upped the feed on the hydro plants, gave them a bit of silica on the last feed Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  23. Have you posted a pic of your plant on the forum YourStonedBuddy[/member]? Maybe we can help out, perhaps there's another issue
  24. You gotta allow for a bit of runoff bud, especially when feeding with nutes. I know things are still tight there in the cape but its essential you allow the pot to be "flushed" of any buildup. Build up can cause all sorts of issues, including major PH problems. From that pic you supplied your plant isn't looking happy and most likely she needs a fresh start. I would suggest potting her up in a new soil mix, freedom farms or jamies mix. If you can post a pic of the whole mother that will help a lot though
