Welcome Ghost!

Gotta agree Totemic. Nothing would light up a narcs eyes more than a bunch of growers in one spot sharing each others weed

Any ideas how we could get something like this going with forum members without compromising safety? edt: Shotgun being a judge

Hi Sterling If you're brave enough and patient enough to develop the contacts, you could do a trip through Swaziland. There are literally plantations everywhere if you go looking deep enough and your chances of coming across some potential Landraces are quite high. You really have to make an expedition of it though. How are you experiencing PM issues?

Sorry for the disgustingly late reply Toby clearly got sidetracked! Got my seeds from Bonza. Great stealth and great packaging Highly recommend them if you're ordering in the cape! I had it sent straight to a home address via Bonza Booty which is the only method they recommend for us Capies. No problems. Took a month to deliver. I won't mention all the seeds I ordered but the strain I'm looking most forward to is Scotts OG from Rare Dankness. Ordered 2 regs of those so holding thumbs. Highlights among the freebies is Barney's Cookies Kush.

Sitting in darkness here due to load shedding and thinking... with Eskom and it's load shedding an all, my fridge is obviously going to oscillate in temps as I don't have a generator. Seeing as I will most probably germ these seeds before the end or the year should i just store them in an airtight container in a cupboard. These oscillations in temps worry me a bit seeing as that's not recommended. Any thoughts?

Must agree with this as well. I started using Oasis RO water and only experienced problems. Couldn't kick a N deficiency no matter how high I went in strength. As soon as I went back to tap water my plants looked sorted again! While on this sort of subject matter, what's your guys opinion on using filtered rainwater? As in collect rainwater, filter it with a coffee filter and use it on my plants.

Wow what lighting is generating that??

Shot 420. So generally it's better to store your seeds in the fridge than not?
-
Superb growing AJ!!! You gonna have bud that will last you for MONTHS!!! Or are you a concentrate man?

Thanks okes solid advice!!! I don't have a spare fridge to work with so it will have to be the fridge I use on a day to day basis. Seeing as it's recommended that your fridge temp doesn't go higher than 3 degrees for food, is that temp ok for seeds as well?

Hey okes I just received my order from a seed bank abroad and they recommend moving the seeds out of the container they come in and into their own containers. So my question is... What are the best containers to store seeds in?

Sorry for the delayed response here chaps! I really like the idea that Reaf has proposed actually. :thumbups If someone feels a post is worth a nomination they can simply just post up a link to the post on this thread. Thanks Reaf I'm actually gonna scrap the hashtag idea then as well. Please read up to see the added rules. @DeltaLabs you can put together a post like that no problem bud. Glad to hear you're joining the comp club

Hey smokey The little ones are looking good but I cant get my head around you switching your photoperiod so soon Isn't the plant too young to show sex? Doesn't seem like a good idea to me... Those plants still need to develop a decent root structure too

Super info shot Reaf :thumbups sometimes you read up on ppl saying that digital ballasts are just money making tools that aren't worth the extra money over magnetic ballasts. I reckon that's been debunked now

Update at Day 35 for Bubba Kush & Jack Herer

Here's the process SSA: [*]You will buy 3 packets(parts) of powder from the hydro shop - The three parts are nutrient A, nutrient B and the 3rd part is called MPK [*]Each packet of powder must get dissolved into its own 5L bottle with 5L of dechlorinated water / or preferably RO water. These 3 bottles of nutes will now be referred to as Part A, Part B and MPK [*]You then fill the required amount of dechlorinated water into a suitable container that you want to use as feeding water. You don't need to PH the water yet. [*]You then put the required amount of each part into the container mentioned in the point above and stir or shake the container to mix the nutrients in. [*]Once you've mixed the nutes in you should then test the PH and adjust accordingly. When you add nutrients to water they change the PH so it's pointless changing PH and then mixing the nutes in...you'll just be creating more missions. Hope that helps

Thanks for that Reaf. Say for instance you're running a 600w bulb on a 600W digital ballast. Would the ballast start using more than 600w if the bulb is getting old? and can the ballast handle drawing more power? What would be a good guideline to knowing if a bulb is nearing the end of its days?
