Week 10 The male has been harvested and given about a tsp of pollen. The female has started alternating nodes and doing well. I will continue to LST as I develop her shape before her final repot. She is currently in a 20l no-till pot, and will go into a 100l to finish closer to flowering time.

I buffer my soils with dolomite lime and gypsum when I mix them up. The ph starts off at 7 exactly after my mix, and as it cooks the ph starts dropping as the microbial life starts decomposing the organic matter. By the time my ph has stabilised to about 6.5 ish after a few months is a sign that the soil is functioning and ready to plant in. Keep the microbes happy and the ph should stay fine. The ph always stays stable during my grows. I have mentioned in another post, but I aim for a liter of soil per week I intend keeping the plant alive. I have a soil for veg, and a soil for flowering so as Bud said, depending on your repot schedule you should never have to worry about the buffer breaking down. If it does break, there really is no way to introduce a buffer evenly through the soil, so it will be spent soil.

Not really. This is how I cut my clones.

Admin, that is the second most random thing thats ever happened to me. Nothing planned at all.
-
I like to see roots. Sometimes im patient and wait for more roots to show and create a dense mass in the rockwool. Obviously doesnt apply to your peat pellets.

Honestly I never check my ec anymore. I kinda have found a schedule that works for me. I found that plain water causes the clone to start cannibalising itself to grow those roots. So I ended up with poorly rooted hungry and deficient clones. Bumping the ec with a ml of each is enough to keep things going. I end up with clones that hit the roof of my dome as they are growing so fast even without roots. There is no reason why you cant dip the bottom of the rock wool in water. It pulls up quite far so a quick dip.

Haha. Talk about random.

I built the cab if that makes it easier. No issues mentioning here.

Hortishops Part A(Micro elements, and N, Mg......and Part B(Calcium Nitrate) and MKP(Mono potassium phosphate). Its powder sachets you buy and dissolve in 5l distilled water each. Hydroponic nutrients. Hope that helps.

First Time Grower - All welcome and A helping hand will do.

I dont sell either. I just want as little leaf taste as possible. Its got more to do with getting an AAA grade cured bud that tastes really great as opposed to leafy. Maybe im just full of nonsense, but yeah plenty ways to skin a cat. -

Its a personal thing. Id rather all those leaves go to trim for butter or whatever. I just want bud. I trim every leaf i can get my trimmers tip into. Having a really sharp pointed pair of garden scissors are milder on the fingers and hands. Cutting at the sugar leaves as deep in and as close to the bud as possible without nicking the bud. Then as its drying every few days I go in and trim a few more that have become visible as the bud contracts. Then the day they go into curing jars they get a final inspection and trim to neaten up for the final cure. Thats what I do, but others may like leaving a few leaves behind. Like i said, its a personal thing, and the way you will get the best bag appeal ime. -

Plenty sugar leaves that need to go. As many of them as possible imo. Its fine trimming. -
How are you taking your clones. Supplying light?, humidity? What medium are you cloning to? Cannabis is really easy to clone. You really only need high humidity and light. I take my clones from well fed, non stressed branches. Clip off below a node under water so that air doesnt suck up into the branch. Dip in rooting hormone and insert into a piece if rockwool previously dunked in a mild nutrient solution of 1ml each A+B and MKP per liter, squeeze out the excess water before inserting clone, and into the humidity dome under 24h cfl light. Roots in 7 days.

Ill second that ph issue. Looks like ph swung high, coupled with wet feet.

Week 9 About another week for this male. The female

How long do you intend vegging? I can already see that plant running out of space quickly with the flowering stretch.

I have to admit, im happy you have a canopy forming again. It brings so many questions to my mind though. It has gone one of 2 ways. The yield might actually increase since top bottom balance is off and there is a lot more root available to pump it into those buds. Or the yield will decease since the chorophyll surface area is insufficient to keep the metabolism going full blast. I'll take a guess that its going to be the first option since the canopy is kind of replacing itself. I might even attempt this with a control to really get solid figures.

Prohibition and its far reaching harm
Totemic replied to a topic in Cannabis Legalisation & Activism
My boys are 10 and 11 now, and in the three years since I started this thread I have had to deal with all that same inner turmoil you ponder on, and things have changed a lot for our family. I for one have gone out of my way to educate my whole family, children included, about the irrationality that is prohibition. I keep arming them with information. In the end its a personal thing where your moral compass points to and what you want for your kids. My wife and I have gone as far suggesting they rather experiment with weed than alcohol. They are going to experiment whether we want to believe it or not. But parenting is not so much about what you say but what you do. So I live the kind of lifestyle that contradicts everything prohibition punts, and lead with an example that includes cannabis as part of my daily life. My best advice will be to be open with your children. Now is the time you get to make a difference. Not by merely growing and sticking it to the law. But you have an opportunity to change the minds of tomorrow. -
Moving an indoor plant thats used to 18/6 outside, well most of them will flower, some might still veg in late Dec/Feb before they flower with the rest.
-
I am restricting his hours. I need him to flower for another 2 weeks, get the pollen I want so I can focus on the rest of the season without him or any other male present.
-
Week 8 The male has gone into peak flowering. The first sacs are open this morning. He stopped his stretch at 65cm. The female is powering on with veg, and I also have another confirmed female. She was having ph issues and has recovered well since the transplant.

Hi there and welcome. Your plants are looking good. You should consider lining the inside of your cab with mylar, or painting it white. Youd be suprized at the difference it will make. Keep us posted as the grow progresses. Im always keen to see what LEDs only will do.
-
My bru. I hope this works out for you. I have never gone to town on my plants like that. At least not in flower.
-
Nah. Im thinking in all my years of growing ive never needed a humidifier. Also never actually been too concerned with humidity. The plants and the environment create its own humidity ime.
-
Tell me about the humidifier you got going there. Is your humidity that bad that you need it?
