From another view point regarding spending for soil, if you trade indoor bud for money( against the law) then it's between 2-3 grams if I remember the prices right. You will most definitely get more yield than that 2-3 grams if you do a tried and tested consistent soil . It's well worth it buddy. Perlite also floats to the top so you will be fine as mentioned above. If you do have the airstone domes at the bottom I would assume that the air will anyway go/pump upwards and no need to worrie if you want to do a cut out , maybe make the stem cut out not to small and tight and leave a 2-3 cm open around the stem Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk

This is plain Coco and plain Spagnum Peat Moss , added Elemental Blend at a ratio of 1L Elemental to 10L medium as per label. I have used it before like this and the grows was good. We used to go fetch weed late 80's in Transkei , choice was TK or Rooibaard and the Rooibaard was the best back then , realy realy nice stuff . Out with the old and in with the new . Haven't grown ANY Cheese yet , one on the right is a Super Cheese and left my old time favourite Orange Kush Cake.
