  1. FPOG is around from quite a few breeders, but the 'real' cut was by a breeder called Obsol33t who worked with Alien Genetics to create it, so the story goes. Obsol33t genetics should be in S.A soon, there are some which Biltong and Budz ordered, and include some FPOG crosses. Definitely want to grab one of the FPOG x AlienDawg.
  2. I'm actually associated with Biltong and Budz, and while I'm glad the guys sorted you out. I'll also find out exactly what happened with these seed packs, it's possible that it was also just crossed lines between the team who uploads and the stock team. @greenkushWith regards to that Slurricane x Juggernaut cross - those seeds are gold, and even rarer than the WSS. They are bred by Pat Keller who I believe is one of the breeders for WSS, they are his unreleased genetics. Even at B&B, those seeds (Pat's unreleased crosses) are only given to a hand full of people, none were available for sale. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them.
  3. I'm thinking about moving away from my current camping gas torch and getting a more compact torch for dabbing. What torches you guys using for concentrates?
  4. Thanks! Yeah it will be in a 1.2x1.2m I've currently got 7 plants vegging at the moment (2x Exotic Genetics 'Kimbo Kush' regs, 2x Humboldt 'OGKZ', 1x DNA 'Triple Scoop', 1x Ripper 'Chempie', 1x TH-Seeds 'Strawberry Glue') My idea was to run the Kimbo Kush regs in the hopes of a male, and crossing the Kimbo with one of the OGKZ in my second tent, while I use the other 4 or 5 for a scrog in the main 1.2x1.2 It's very possible though, that I find myself with 7 females. Was just thinking that since I have so many other genetics I need to run, I should probably just add a few more and go with SoG. But perhaps scrogging is a better option. I'll be vegging for about 4-5 weeks, as I have some finishing up in the flowering tent at the moment (should be done in about 4 weeks)
  5. Looking at this, it looks like it has to be a case of pH or the soil being too hot. I run Freedom Farms from seedling and have never had these issues... But I'm not sure about that soil you're using. What pH meter are you using? Digital? Liquid? One of those sticks that you poke in the soil (aka those things that don't work)
  6. So I've been hoarding a number of genetics recently and I currently have 7 seeds 2 weeks from seed. I was planning on running a 4 plant SCROG in a 4x4, but today it's dawned on me that I may want to run more of these genetics I have for the variety. I realize SCROG should give me the best yield, but I'm thinking of perhaps trying to run 12 or 16 plants in the 4x4 in 10L pots. The idea would be to give them about 4 weeks of veg and to try train / supercrop as needed to try and still create as even canopy as possible , trying to emulate a scrog canopy but with a number of plants. The primary reason for this is just because I do want to run all the genetics I have, but not take the 2 years I'd need to get through them when running a 4 plant scrog - as there's some other genetics I want to run. I've not run SCROG or SoG before, so hoping for some input, perhaps from someone who has tried both approaches. What are the risks in such a SoG approach? If genetic costs aren't an issue.
  7. I'm looking into potentially picking up a press, but want to ask if anyone has any local suggestions that they can vouch for. Rosinpress.co.za has some really nice presses at a good price, but I've heard from someone who has been waiting months for his parts to arrive as they shipped him an incomplete unit. Would definitely need to be under R10k I also remember @Stinger96 had a post up with some presses, but can't find that post - drop me a DM if they're still available.
  8. Thanks With a DSLR + 10mm Wide Angle + Reversing Ring + Extension Tubes + External Slave Flash + Lots and lots and lots of failed shots. The magnification ends up being to a point where even a tripod isn't sturdy enough because even the shutter and air movement is enough to move it fractions of a cm and move the subject out of focus.
  9. Realized that I had attached the wrong image for my entry. Here's my submissions for this month:
  10. I'm stuck in a bit of a predicament and I'm hoping for some advice from you fellow growers. I know that "personal use" is now mostly just a term to avoid arrest, but I grow purely for personal use and don't have the biggest disposable income to spend on my grow. With that said, I'm currently running the following which I've accrued over time: - 4x4ft Tent running a 315W CMH and 200W LED alongside. - 80x80cm Tent running a 100W COB and 150W LED alongside. My veg tent (80x80) is mostly running at decent temperatures. But my flowering tent is suffering with temps ranging on a cold day from 27'C to 33'C on a hot day. The ambient room temperature is generally around 23'C - 28'C - so I'm seeing on average a 5'C temperature increase in the tent. With lights off the temperatures are generally in the 25'C - 27'C range. I don't have the ability to run an air-conditioner, nor can I afford the cost to run COBs for a 4x4 space. So I'm currently looking at ways to reduce heat, while also not downgrading at all on the lighting. CMH tends to put out less heat than HPS, but I'm not sure if perhaps a 600W HPS in a cooltube or air cooled hood would reduce the temps at all - may still make them rise from what they are currently... But I have 2x 6" 400CFM fans that can be used in the setup. The lights would be running at night and I would use an extractor to pull air from outside, through the light and then exhaust outside again. Thoughts or recommendations? I'm also trying to see if I can find a friend to lend me a 600W air-cooled setup from to see what kind of temperatures I end up getting with it. Anyone's experience with air cooled hoods/cool tubes and the most effective way to reduce temps on a running cost budget?
  11. These look good, though there are definitely some nodes getting blocked by the large fan leaves. Leaf tucking is in my opinion the most important technique when growing autos.I tuck my fan leaves every day, sometimes twice a day to open up the inner nodes. It definitely brings the canopy to a bit more of an even height and increases yields. A bit of defoliation (2 or 3 leaves a day for a week or two in the early to mid stages of flowering has also been very successful in my auto runs)
  12. I realize I can just wait a week until the Cape Town Cannabis Expo, but I've recently noticed a well branded building near Somerset Mall with "Canbigold" on it. Does anyone know exactly what products they're creating in such a public location?
  13. Sorry dude, never saw this post. Here's how they look currently. Yields look likely to be in the 30-50g a plant range. The Caramel King is 8 weeks from seed and is about a week away from harvest. The rest are following closely.
  14. Does appear external issues are at play possibly. Though hard to make an accurate gauge as there are hawks members on the group who have told others about their presence there in a threatening way from what I heard. In Nantie's case, the constable said he doesn't care what the court ruling said, and that he would continue to arrest. They've charged him with a crime that isn't a crime, possession of cannabis plants - no signs of dealing. The fact that these guys are openly stating they don't care about the court judgement is the main problem and something we as the people need to make sure they face consequences on.
  15. At this point forums are probably the safest place to be. It is a lot easier for a police officer to see the name of someone on Facebook and then to just go from there. It would be a lot more work for them to get information from a forum where they need to serve court papers to the servers and then retrieve user information from the database. I think as long as one doesn't reveal personal information here it should be okay. The problem is one of two parts, corruption and ignorance. There are some officers who haven't read the directive from the commissioner which states that one should only arrest when one is certain that the individual is dealing, and if there is uncertainty, no arrest should take place. And instead, a summons be provided. The arrests are taking place largely outside of the law and only because they know that nothing will happen to them. Other officers are also aware of the fact that they don't get held accountable, so they just blatantly use the method to receive bribes. There was a case recently where a guy on the FB group was arrested with under 5g on him, the police apparently said they'd let him go for R8000 - otherwise the cell. They know the case will be thrown out, but no skin off their back. I'd like to see these counsels who are now formed to 'fight for legalization' actually stepping in and trying to mediate in this. There needs to be action from all these groups in going directly to stations and going directly to those in the higher ups and getting them to understand the officers below them aren't following their directives. And there needs to be more media coverage over false arrests, instead of just the anti-weed PR that police do when they get News24 and others to post the bust stories with photos from the scene.
  16. Guys, things are getting a bit scary out there. And it's a topic that we, everyone in the cannabis community needs to try and resolve. In the past 48 hours the police have raided several Western Cape based growers, taking plants and gear and charging for dealing. I can't speak to the reality of these individuals actions, but some do claim to just be growers. And regardless, it is a situation that everyone should be made aware of. These raids have been on active members on the Cannabis Club SA group on Facebook, which a little scary since I've been pretty active as a personal use grower. It should be noted that the charges given have in most cases not been supported with evidence upon raids, yet they still arrest. Again, it's important to note that I can't speak to whether these individuals deal or not, but there have been some personal use growers who have been raided recently. The police have no incentive to stop at this point, they know the case will be thrown out but it doesn't matter because by the time that happens they already have the plants and gear. Some kind of accountability needs to be pushed on these cops that raid private use growers.
  17. I picked up a COB from Amazon a while back. It was one of the "Galaxy Hydro" lights. They have released a number of COB setups but most were not using any reputable chips. I picked up their 2018 Edition which came with 2x CREE CXA3070. Not quite as good as the CXB3590, but I've been impressed by what this little 110W draw light was able to achieve. I run it in an 80x80 tent. I don't know if you guys know of the autocobs, the dude has a huge following in the autoflower community in the US, since he's quite active over on autoflower.net - but he ships to S.A and the lights are of great quality. The chips are Citizen CLU 48.
  18. The girls are well into their flower stretch now and gaining about 3cm a day on their tops. They've all been LST'd now and hopefully they continue to stretch for another week or so. Added an additional LED to the CMH to make the fifth plant not have to worry about being on the edge of the CMH. Started feeding the first bits of flowering nutrients at 30%, will increase to 50% on next feeding and then keep at 70% after that. Currently feeding Microlife, Worm Castings, Kelp, Molasses, BioBizz Bloom and will introduce Firejuice at week 3.
  19. I haven't seen much Bat guano around here, and would like to add that to my mix. I've seen other avian guano at nurseries, but apparently the bat guano tends to be better because of the diet of bats.
  20. The whole situation is very 'interesting'. Because these franchise owners are getting the businesses signed off on by the cops and in some cases the state prosecutors as well. So it's not like they're just opening and hoping for the best, they do have legal paperwork relating to the business. But the fact remains that even the permission they are getting, isn't technically legal. I think it will protect them from local law enforcement for the most part, but I think once the Hawks get a taste of what's going on, shit is going to turn bad very quickly... Both for the businesses and police/prosecutors giving the franchises the go-ahead. I am just not a fan of the way the franchising works... For instance, the Helderberg branch is being opened by two guys who know their shit (Angelos from Mushigoat and Ben from Biltong and Budz), and they have also worked through the police in this. But the difference between a franchise opened by respected guys in the industry and someone with R25k and a dream of getting rich, is going to result in so much different quality between branches. Maybe I'm a bit bias, having chatted with the Helderberg guys, and being so close to it... I'm a bit torn though, because I like the idea of normalizing the concept of cannabis sales, while not really liking the exclusivity in this venture, a bit of a monopoly type vibe. But I can understand why people are wanting to get involved.
  21. Not sure if this is the best place for this discussion, but considering it's been a hot topic in the local community news over the past few weeks... I've personally had no real issues with the Cannapax thing, I can see why others may but I hadn't seen anything too worrying until today. I had seen it as a nice way for growers to have a new way to unload their stock, however there were some pretty concerning photos shared on social media over the past two days by Cannapax Vanderbijlpark. They have been showing the stock they currently have, and boy oh boy, it is not fit to be called medicine. It looks like some Swazi grown bud that has gone through some quick dry methods. To make matters worse, they're advertising it as "High THC" just because the claimed strains tested high in lab tests by American dispensaries. These buds are certainly nowhere near the THC percentages that they have written down when marketing it. In fact, the bloody "White Rhino" is pollinated even. I feel sorry for the other Cannapax franchise owners who now have their brand also suffering because one franchise owner is doing this. I know that at least one of the franchise owners who is opening up a store soon, is investing a lot of money with good intentions to stock quality bud, but how do you crawl your way back when the other franchise owners are putting out this kind of stuff?!
  22. I've been looking for a good gassy strain to run... Maybe I'll throw one in my DNA & Humboldt run Thanks man!
  23. Nice stuff man! Looks beautiful. I really need to give some Bushfire OG a run some time, have only heard good things.
