I run an oscillating fan just on my lights. Helps with cooling them thus they will last longer. -
It all depends on the heat the light puts out. The actual light that is emitted will not burn the plants. I have plants 5cm away from my light no issues.

This one is the pluto cut. Fast buds make some decent plants but I feel its hit and miss with them. The hit and miss theory is probably true for allot of autos. But I think i have found a soil recipe that works for them and I feel that 20l pots is the right size pots for them. Not allot of nutrients. Will be doing some Ducth passion auto ultimate and fast buds amnesia soon When i have space again.

I have a cheap 4" inline fan running in my 1.2x1.2. I think it coa me roundd 850. Bought it from ACDC.express. it does the job. I do not run an carbon air filter on it. For that you will need a bigger/better fan.

I rate you can get away with less of you DIY. But you can definately spend more depending. Buy a tent. You can DIY a veg area. If a grow takes 12 weeks and you can get 100+ grams off 2 plants it is viable. But pricing above is about what it costs. -
I have to concur with every one here. I bought a bag of orgasoilux and planted clones sraight into the soil. Fed microbes and the plants are loving the medium.

For R200 more you can get a Mammoth tent and the zips on those tents are 10x better than the Mars

Autoflowers are fussy plants. If you dont know them. The plant will start flowering independent of light cycle. What you have to know is the plant will start flowering as soon as the tap root hits the bottom of the pot. Thus you need to plant them in the pot you want to flower in. I recommend a 20l pot for outdoors. Also they don't want to be fed heavilly. The need a very airy soil. Buy the right genetics. Mephisto, nightOwl and ethos has some amasing flowers.

1.2x1.2m tent Mammoth from Futurama someset west. Light 320w led DIY strips and driver from Digikey and source aluminum frame locally. See LED Gardener for specs on sprips and drive. 6" extractor fan grow guru was the cheapest last time i Looked which was years ago. 2x clip on tent fans from Hydrobiz Pots and trays. Soil orgasoilux from Jamies garden shop. The source clones don't plant seeds. You will probably have to invest in a dehumidifier at some stage for Winter. That is my take on it.

Spend money on your tent. You won't regret it. Look at mammoth tents.

I do as little as possible. I do however spend time watering the plants every day. But mostly I just try to keep it simple. It starts with a good soil. This is my 3rd round of growing in the same soil this year. And spend money on good genetics. Buy clones from reputable people or try to find good seeds some where and grow regular seeds. You will see the difference. @Totemic just lauched some nice seeds at a good price check out his site or buy here on the forum.
