In our organic realm there are a few... Additional to normal feeding routine. Mung and Adzuki SST's for veg. Yellow corn SST's for flower. AACT and BIM's for microbial. Comfrey FPJ for veg Seaweed FPJ for micro's (live by the sea) Catnip and or Tomato leaf extract for spidermite and aphids. Varients of Banana/potato/sweetpotato/aloevera smoothies for nutrient boost and microbe support. Rice and pasta water also in the mix- starch, sugars and LAB. Worm farm coming along nicely, vermicompost for the soil and tea for the ladies.

Aweh Also had a few scorchers up here on the north coast. (2 of my black planter bags laying outside actually melted together.) Small black pots will heat up fast in the sun. I use 5 and 10lt planter bags and they get hot in direct sun, even my 75lt tubs get very warm to the touch. Some mulching or a topdress with some straw or hay will help to keep the soil surface cool and reduce evaporation and heat stress. You could try elevating the pots off the ground to avoid futher heat transfer from the ground or paving.

Agree with the above comments. Just Cannabis seems to be a bit of hit and mis, seems to be more coco than 'soil', dont need those kind of problems especially with autos. Mate of mine ran into issues with JC, was having PH related 'N' deficiencies, but managed to pull through by flushing, but the plants were small. JC Soil seems hot or not properly matured, read suggestions that mixing JC with FF could stabilize it a bit?

Aweh gromies, All told the Purple Pineapple lady racked up a decent 155gr dry before jarring. Lots of prominent dark pistils, reminds me of some Rooibaard from many moons ago. Getting klapped by some heatwave weather, 35-39deg, 80% RH. Very glad I harvested when I did, about 20% amber had to move all the plants out to a shadier spot to avoid the worst. Most of the lawn is toast by comparison so the sweat paid off. That Lady, Mother nature is a tough cookie

The baby Swazi and Purple Pineapple f1 lady got the chop. Spaced over 2 days as she was a big girl. Her sativa genes showing in the cola structure. Sweet fruity scents and very sticky, probably got more than a gram of scissor hash haha.... hoping to get close to 200gr dry. Lost 2 lower popcorn buds to rot, but we can live with that. The oscillating fan is doing its job. Shifting focus to the rest Bubblegum and Fruitpunch f4's which are vegging nicely after transplant to 75lt tubs. Germed WWxCheese, Pineapple Express and DBN Poison. Finished the first 1m3 of my amended soil and the 2nd batch is cooking. But we need a lot of it. Its used for everything we plant in various strenghts. From the Spinach, Lettuce, Aloe Vera, Sweet Potatoes, Gooseberries, Habanero's, Passionfruit, Guavadilla, various herbs and 5 varieties of Tomatoes. Busy times ahead.

I feel your pain bruh. We got same stories on the north coast. SAP dont do their job, there is no visible policing at all. Most of the cops are taking protection money from the Nigerian wonga dealers and thus dont get touched. We have drug(most hardcore stuff except cannabis ) and whore houses in most neighbourhoods. Now that the cops are watching the beaches the criminals are having a field day. Brazenly robbing houses in broad daylight, last week they robbed a jewellery chain store in the mall in the middle of the day. My vehicles have been broken into 3 times this year as I was forced to park outside the garage. But no entry into the house-If they can get past the pitbulls (which sleep inside) there is some 9mm tablets ready. We all have to get serious about personal security, as I doubt the state of chaos will improve any time soon.

Outdoors you just have to keep on top of the creepy crawlies and maintian a good IPM. Running some trials with a tomato leaf infusion, it contains alkoloids that are lethal to softbodied insects like mites and aphids. Want to try Gwarrie bush(var. natal and magic) as well, as no bug touches it. Seems it could have similar properties as the wildeals. We can do a bean exchange/swop, possibly in the new year. Always keen for new genetics. Still have some Vanilla kush and Cookie bird stashed away curing sweetly. The change in flavour profiles and smoothness with such a long cure are unbelievable.

I grow organic in my own soil, have used coco for cuttings but not for full on growing. Coco should be buffered with calmag to avoid issues later on. Pretty sure one of the more experienced coco growers may shed some more light on the issue.

Aweh. That is a funky fruity selection you got going there. Sounds very lekker. Mother nature is making life hard up here. We had blistering days 35-39deg and 95% RH, our ac pulls 50lt of water per night. Got a Purple Pineapple express being harvested, luckily only lost 2 small buds to rot.

Aweh, It does look like something is not right there. Many deficiencies etc are allready 7-14days in the making before you, the grower physically see them. You'll have to give more info, like what grow medium you using, what nutes you feeding and how much. Tip burn is usually an indication of too much feeding, the shiny sheen on the leaves alao doesnt look right. Possibly a lockout.

Awesome idea in the spirit of the season. I would definately be interested in some of those beans if there are enough to go round. Personally that strain has been on my growing bucket list for a while. Doing coconut oil extracts for some retired individuals at our local 'Golden Oldies' who indicated that they prefered 'more natural meds' for their ailments. They were buying off the street in the past to try and make their own. (Alcohol extract with vodka) Up to now we were only able to help them with sativa/THC dominant extracts. a CBD dominant extract will be very beneficial.

Agreed, give her some more time. Aquire a jewelers loupe or similar in the meantime and check the trichome colours, thats the best way to determine your harvesting window.

Purple Pineapple Express F1.

It is a very interesting topic on which I' ve also spent countless hours. The rabbithole is deep.... We wont ever be able to copy mother nature 100%, we can try as best we can. From what I've read, Fungi takes longer than bacteria to colonize soil, so initially your soil should theoretically be more bacteria dominant. Cannabis being an annual we tend to rotate the soil every time we plant, but this concept is actually flawed as we damage the soil food web when we disturb the soil. Where in 'nature' does anyone rotate or change the soil..??? Many growers harvest their plants and then just replant in the same soil, same pot. Many have reported that their plants actually grow better the second and third time around. In an experiment I've changed over to much larger tubs-75lt in the greenhouse, trying to copythe ''no till'' organic conceptas best I can. Prepping my pots 30days in advance to allow the soil mix (after 60day cook) to settle and the microbes to do their thing. Believe it may assist with the Fungi/Bacteria balance and give the Fungi a headstart in an undisturbed enviroment. But most fungii only grow in symbiosis with the plant roots (exudates) so will do multiple innoculations with AACT to make sure. Cover cropping also has benefits for preserving and stimulating the microbes. Otherwise a 'no till' bed in the garden that you could prep in advance may be the closest you'll get, unless there is a forest nearby....

Aweh greenfingers, 1-2. The Purple Pineapple F1 is doing well, she is putting on good weight in the right places. Had a bit of an issue with whitefly and spidermite, but thats sorted for now. Been feeding her alernatingly with Biobiz bloom, Fishmix and Ecobuz, keeping it light at 2-3ml/ ltr. Plants get a feed, then plain rain water and then a AACT 'feed'. 3. This little swazi lady is pushing to the amber side of things. She's showing some spidermite damage, but pulled through and will be harvested soon. 4. Still revegging this Chocolate Gorilla, hoping to cut some clones in the next few weeks. Her spicy profile was quite unique. 5. A duo of Bubblegum girls, they are vegging and toughening up outside and will go back into the greenhouse later in flower. 6. Another Purple Pineapple lady growing outdoors in a 30lt material bag, she was abit shy, making me wait for some pistil action. Cleaned her up a bit and came away with 1w clones which all rooted 100%. 7. A friend sponsered some Habanero seedlings, ran these 2 in my cannabis soil just to see, now got about 10 more going. Chillis and tomatoes like the amended cannabis soil. Cheers and enjoy.

A good sativa or sativa/indica hybrid should assist with these symptoms if it is harvested at the correct time/stage. (Can not emphasise this enough) Some strains are better at alleviating said symtoms, but many times its a question of what works for you. Racy/paranoid effects are usually associated with clear tricomes. I've started inspecting the tricome colours of our dried buds before smoking, as not all the buds from the same plant ''ripen'' at the same pace.

Aweh fellow greenfingers, 1-2. This F1 Purple pineapple stacking very well. Terps are a funky and fruity, she is stacking well and hopefully she puts on weight in the right places. 3. Chocolope bagseed ''opslag'' girl decided to reveg out of the blue. Her colours are just on milky, think I'll harvest all but 2 reveg colas and then cut some clones. Like her spicy terps profile. 4. 2 more Purple pineapple girls that are going to donate some clones in the name of science.... 5-6. Next gen babies.... Bubblegum, White widow and Fruitpunch f4's. They are looking a bit worse for wear due to a spidermite problem, had to dose them hard with a soap/canola mix. But they are pulling through. 7-8. Swazi gold...ishhh bagseed girl doing well despite the mites. Mother nature hasn't been playing fair the last 2 months. Week long rainy spells, sky high RH mixed with 36 to 39deg days in between. Talk about hell and high water, got a oscillating fan for the greenhouse to help with ventilation etc. 9. At least the tomatoes are bearing fruit.....

Beautifull plants as usual @SkunkPharmMany times less is more, many times we tend to kill our plants with too much ''love'' and ''faffing''. KISS.....

Fruit chafers are cool in the compost pile as stated by @CreX, they help with breaking down organic material and adding insect frass to the mix. One or two shouldn't be an issue as they normally munch on detritus or rotting organic material, but they are voracious and may chow on living plants and roots if they can't find enough sustenance. Sifting your compost is about the best way to get them out of the mix.

Doesn't look like caterpillar or grasshopper/locust damage. Possibly a larger animal... damage looks similar to the bite and pull action of small buck or antelope. Many mammals are known to munch on cannabis.
