Smokey. Did a bit of research as I've had a similar root growth situation on some of my plants. That looks like root nematode galls. Certain nematodes can be beneficial, but other species are bad for your plants and it seems they can survive in a watery environment ie. hydro. Defs fungi dom samples, she's brewing allready. Liked the ''smell'' story. People always look at me funny when I open the bags a grab a handfull, feel and smell it....hahaha.[emoji3] Never used commercial soils ''out or the bag'' in my teas, as I believe they are pretty sterile. For spidermite you need guns....and more than one, but most products can't be used during flowering so your options become very limited....which sucks. That's why I mentioned Ecobuz, it has worked well for me but you have to apply more than once. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

I've had good results with Ecobuz pestpro, contains bacteria that targets spidermite. Saw it at Builders and gave it a go, now it's part of my ipm. I have also read that ash from the braai can also be used for dusting. Not sure if ash and DE have the same sharp microscopic edges. Now you trippin down memory lane... First bankies at the taxi rank with mates, it was shit. Basically majat with more sticks,seeds and leaves than bud...but it did the job hahaha. Then I had the privilege of spending 2jrs in the UK and boy did that change things. Smoked more hash/hashish, as true bud was scarce and expensive. We smoked it every way imaginable. Stone Chillums, bongs, hot knives, Japanese fountains, fruit pipes...it was epic. Back in SA been growing on and off, until 2yrs ago. Bought a bankie from the local Bgf - I wasn't impressed. This awesome plant could be elevated to a new level if grown right, so I said eff this. I will grow, dry and cure it right and smoke my own - haven't bought any weed since. @Dank. They growing well and like you said....hungry and thristy. Relocated the tallest lady (1st pic prev post) this morning to a more accommodating 60lit tub. Gently pulled her out like a solid slug of roots and straight into her new home. Don't like transplanting large plants but it had to be done. Merry 2020 ppl Mr @Dank Cookie Birds are doing well. Tall, hungry and thirsty trees....just got a lekker growth flush going. Headroom may become an issue at this rate as my 2.4m ceiling is not far off, worst case they'll have to finish up outside. They still snackin on seagrow and molasses, with some epsom for good measure. Did another compost topdressing to help with moisture retention and organic volume. So far no serious defs, just trying to keep a close eye, suspect I'm going to have some rootbound issues so we prepping some 60lit tubs. Keep on puffin Cheers

Happy 2020 fellow greenfingers Mister @Dank Vanilla kush Cookie ladies are doing grand. The greenhouse lady has started pushing pistils and the outdoor lady (far right) isn't far behind. They are handling our summer heat well, using more water than usual as can be expected. Can't go without a watering for more than 3 days- dankie tog vir die Jojo. Feeding Seagrow and molasses, started introducing the Ecobuz as it's nutrient profile leans more towards flowering. When they properly set in flower I'll mix them some bloom juice . Keep it green. Currently using a alu 'Sharp Stone' grinder from 'High Co'. Awesome little grinder, like the magnetic centre holding it together. It has taken quite a beating and is still going strong. Terpines and cannbinoids. Cannabis plants are genetically predisposed to develop both, but the profiles of each can be influenced to a degree by eviromental factors (medium, nutes, growstyle, light) I have found that terpine profiles become more complex if harvested later. Cee2020 Those are some pretty flowers. I wanted to elaborate on my previous comment regarding soil. I use commercial ''potting'' soils (garden master/blackwoods) in varying percentages depending on quality and bark content, but with sweat, elbow grease and time it is turned into something else. Don't know if it would qualify as a ''super soil'' but the plants love it and it suits my budget. 2x 30dm bags of potting soil 2x 30dm bags of lawn dressing 1x 20dm composted manure Add 5kgs of hydrated coco and 1kg perlite for good texture and airyness. 50kgs of my own clean and sifted garden compost and 2kgs bonemeal. I innoculate repeatedly with compost tea to push the bio-activity and get the mix hot. Turn that mountain once a week, keep it moist, airated and covered.
