  1. Haha had a good chuckle.... The means by which they gain entry to the 'host'- infect. Maybe colonize would be better. But the result is positive symbiosis in which both plants benefit. As long as the result is positive does it matter how you got there. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks GLO, Got a few spidermites I'm dosing with some special organic muti, was looking for them when I found that bugger. Spidermites and thrips leave different patterns of damage. Havent noticed the thrips but that doesnt mean they are not there. The problem is, they are on the flowering ladies. Is pyrol safe during flowering? What is safe to spray during flowering? Heard thrips don't like garlic[emoji848] but holy crap....garlic flavoured buds??? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. Evening fellow growers, During inspection of our plants I came across this ugly bugger. Can anyone identify it and how big of a problem can they be pls? (Not a mite or aphid-looks more like an ''oorkruiper'') Thanks Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. The Mango Kush pheno seems very dominant in our bagseed grow. Believe you me, I am not complaining[emoji4][emoji39] The last buds went up in glorious smoke....literally. Same structure, 3 tip main leaf and buds stacking tight and dense close to the stem. Beautiful dejavu... Except these ladies are a bit bigger than their predecessor. Knowledge is power Thanks 420SA Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

    Friend or foe?

All over my compost bin, adults and larvae. Larvae apparently only eat dead and decomposing matter. They seem to stay away from my cannabis, hope it stays that way. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks@Totemic That's what I thought, showing signs of both genders. Forfooksakes.... Got gifted these 2 beans- ''fems''from the Netherlands. The female is doing great and flowering nicely with the rest of the girls. Oh well...Off with its head. And then there was ONE. Cheers. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  7. Afternoon all, Need some clarification here pls. Plant first showed pollen sacs, identifying it postively as a male. It was seperate for pollen collection-breeding. A week later it's showing what seems to be female pre-flowers(pistils) Is this plant then a ''dual sex'' or ''hermie'' or am I missing something? Thanks Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. Hi Rabbit, Have you used the ash and banana tea? Just watch the ph with ash it tends to be quite high and can wreak havoc on the existing microlife and cause more problems. I brewed the bananas with my normal compost tea and mixed my 'ash tea' seperately, added some used coffee grounds to lower ph to around 7. Cheers vir eers Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. The beginning of great things. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  10. The small bubbles don't cause enough flow/disturbance in the water. Bigger bubbles breaking the surface are better. Airstones get gooey/clogged quickly and become a breeding ground for the wrong bacteria- you can cross contaminate your teas with the airstone. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. The problem is...you have to over engineer the system. Most solar istallations do well when the sun is shining but, give it 3 overcast/rainy days and you are stuffed. You have to calculate your total consumption for everything-Kwh But what you use in 24hrs the solar panels must put back in 8-12 hrs of daylight and the batts must be able to handle it. What you think you need in batts and panels you likely have to double up if you want to go offgrid with the grow. Solar Panels+Mppt/pwm charge controllers+ mod/pure sinewave inverters+ deepcycle batts. Cables, connections, fuses. Installation costs aren't cheap even if you diy it. FYI....beware cheap Chinese electronics you won't save money here. A basic sized system 50k- 100k Offgrid system for your house R250k easily- just to give you an idea. And then you break even in 10 years. @GLO figures are not far off- like it or not. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. Glad you got through it OK. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  14. Yes it will, leave the airstone off and just weigh the end of the pipe down. My basic recipe... 20lit dechlorinated water 25ml seagrow(food for fungi) 25ml unsulphered molasses(bacteria) 500gr compost in netbag/stocking (EWC will work too) Let brew for 24hrs Good signs- biofilm foam on top Smells woody/musty/sweet/clean Golden amber colour Bad signs- turns dark-bad bacteria Smells off, bad, stinky, rotten, shit (Discard) Don't try to brew constantly, do small batches and start each one fresh. 15. AACT- Actively Aerated Compost Tea. Heard of it on this forum for the first time and now I'm converted brewer. Our plants have never looked better. Have a look on this forum- plenty of info. If you prefer Google- Try search for Heisenberg compost tea. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  16. Missmayhem, We're doing an organic outdoor grow, using my own soil mix. I alternate with Seagrow, AACT and rainwater every 3 days approx depending on the plants requirements. Cannabis plants require more nitrogen during vegetative growth, during flowering they require less. So if you want to use both, you can alternate between biobizz and fishmix(not sure if they can be mixed), but be aware that you'll have to reduce the N feeding during flowering. Too much N during flowering will cause toxicity. FF soil is good(reviews on forum),have a look at the ''organic'' thread on this forum. Lots of info on FF soil and organic nutes. 17. Hi Highchome, Got some Swazi Gold and Swazi x Mango ''Haze'' if you might be interested. All regular bagseed. Drop me a pm. Cheers
  18. Hi Allyb, Welcome to the forum. Growing outdoors as well, but our outdoor temps do not drop as low as Pretoria. So our plants are all outside on the westerly side, facing the sun(full sun), from seedling stage to get max exposure. In winter we chase the sun, cause these plants love it. Just introduce them gradually if they are used to indoors and they should be fine. Keep it growing. Bos Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  19. She was harvested on the 10th of May. So technically she going on nearly 2 months now. I'll give her some extra daylight, hopefully she is ready for the outdoor season. Been meaning to ''repot'' her- better to do that now or when she starts pushing good growth again? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  20. Cool, I can extend her light hours. Just don't want to mess with the flowering girls. I'll just seperate the plant completely. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  21. She is outside, in the sunny spot facing west with the other flowering ladies. Only getting about 8-10hrs sunshine daily if it's not cloudy. Got me thinking now.... any recommendations regarding light hours for reveging? Full sun/shady...? What seems to work best? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  22. All our big ladies are in flowering mode. Got some interesting shades of green coming through with the camera flash. Got some funky twisty tips on some of the main growths. Any ideas? Really happy with their growth, haven't had any issues worth mentioning. Got a rotation going wrt feeding/watering 1 session plain rain water 1 session AACT 1 session Seagrow They ''dry out'' within a day or 3, we monitor the soil moisture and water/inoculate/feed accordingly. Trying to let Mother nature do her thing - K.I.S.S. as they say. Caught 1x worm and 3x grasshoppers munching some leaves- instant protein supplement for my koi's haha...[emoji228][emoji229] Most other critters munching on the sacrificial/companion plants...[emoji6] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  23. Hi Spicedgold, You going to have to get some more enlargement on those tricomes. Little difficult to judge from the pics. I have used a magnifiying glass in front of and my cell camera(full zoom) Worked well, got some nice pics too. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  24. I am by no means an expert but I have experience with hydroponics growing other plants(vegetables) My cannabis I grow organic in soil. No light can beat natural sunshine. Organics- slower growth rate and more forgiving grow. Better terpines and flavour development. Less stressful grow, you don't have to watch every little thing. Hydro- faster growth rate, small margin for error. Apparently less flavoursome smoke. Very involved/stressful, checking ph, nutes, lights, temps, ventilation, RH.
