  1. @Pat999 Thank you very much, I must say really pleased how the grow turned out. I started a new thread under grow diaries as to not clutter this thread, and I've posted pretty much all of the flowering phase through to present day in there.
  2. Present Day, the nugs have been sitting in a jar for the past month and all I can say is WOW! They have a sweet, sharp citrus smell and a smoke to match. When mauled up, the smell is released, and is lime green and fluffy. The initial taste is sweet dank and then there's a light citrus after taste. The plants were grown in coco that was buffered with CalMag and they were fed with the BioBizz nutrient range (FishMix, BioGrow and Biobloom). They were under a 250W Mh for veg and were switched up to a 400W HPS and a 1000W LED during flower. They had LST done to them but no topping.

  7. This Sugar Black Rose day 53 of flower, shes gonna be recieving a flush with in the next few days. She is in a mixture of coco, perlite and free farms soil. Nutrients I've used are the Fishmix(veg), Biogrow and Biobloom(flower) of BioBizz range. She also recieved LST as well as lolipopping and leaf striping up until wekk 3 of flower. The light used for most of the flower has been a 400W HPS that is now been supplemented with a 1000W full-spectrum LED. She is roughly 80cmx35cm. The next 3 photos are not being entered but are of the same plant.
  8. Warning! Long post! I think participation can be increased by splitting it into multiple categories, for example; veg, early flower and late flower/harvest. Points should be awarded for meeting certain criteria set by the judges. I'm not saying the judges control how we grow, rather grow diaries become more important. The judges should be able to see the goal, implementation of steps, development and outcome for that month of the plant(s) in your grow. A winner in each category is chosen by the judges and then those 3 go to the polls for an overall plant of the month. I understand there is currently low participation and dividing it into 3 categories as well as requiring more effort from participants seems counter intuitive but let me explain. The winner of each category will receive a smaller prize, as well as being entered into a year end event/competition, where they will compete against other months for various prizes and awards. The winner of the overall plant for each month wins that month's large prize and is entered into the Plant Of The Year competition. The year end event/competition should be held end of Jan or beginning of Feb, that way we start the year off with some outdoor flowers. I'm not sure of the Indoor VS outdoor numbers but I feel there are quite a few more outdoor grows going on. As people don't want to post until they have something worth posting(flowers) starting the competition at the beginning of outdoor flowering season there should be an increase in number of posts in the beginning, this will hopefully encourage a few indoor grows to post some flowers in the summer months, while those trees develop. By dividing the competition into 3 sections you also encourage all growers to post all year round. By requiring better grow diaries from participants, the judges as well as fellow members are able to follow and understand your grow. This should allow for more accurate judging as well as a way for the different categories to be compared. Let's be honest with ourselves not many a vegging bush can compare with a mature lady in full flower. Another bonus is that other users can now learn more from your grows, I mean other than the cool prizes and dank photos, why are we all here? To get interest going in the beginning, state certain prizes or the total value of the prizes up for grabs in the year end competition; like "prizes valued at X amount by companies Y and Z". I see there used to be annual awards but I'm not sure of what happened? On a side note I feel as if something like this is used in the future, sponsors should tailer the prizes to each category. For example, a jewellers loupe for early flowering plants or a bloom booster for the plants in veg, something they can theoretical use in the next stage. Obviously other may feel differently and in the end it's up to the sponsors as to what they choose to donate, it's just a suggestion.
  9. OneBudda This little girl was our closed/non-oxygenated/still water hydroponic experiment. Friends of mine have successfully grown lettuce using this method before, I was curious as to what would happen to a cannabis plant. My main concern with this method was root rot. Materials used: 1x aQuelle 5L bottle 1x twig/skewer 1m of washing line rope Substrate and Nutrients used: Coco buffered with CalMag and mixed with perlite, 80:20 coco:perlite. Volcanic Rock Dusk(Basalt), mixed into the coco, perlite mixture. Seagro, organic plant food Method followed: The 5L bottle is cut at about a 1/3 to half way down from the top. The top half is then turned upside down, the lip of the bottle(where it was cut) is manipulated by making cuts, bending and heating to create a "seal" so that the top half(the pot) sits nicely in the bottom half(the reservoir) without touching the bottom. and the twig/skewer is now cut so that you can slide it down to just above the bottle neck, the skewer should not fit through the mouth of the bottle as the function of the skewer is to hold the rope in place so the rope can act as a wicking system. The rope is now cut into smaller pieces, please make sure the pieces are long enough to reach the water. The rope is fed through the mouth of the bottle, around the skewer and back through the mouth. Next the soil mixture is added and seed placed in a 1 cm deep whole, covered and watered. The reservoir is then filled to where the water is touching the mouth of the bottle. The nutrients are mixed to supplier recommendation and added when needed and only after the first month of growth. Growing OneBudda When we decided to germinate the seeds we weren't looking to put in huge amounts of effort, so what we did was place 5 bag seeds into 1 pot. Out of the 5 seeds only 3 popped successfully. During the seedling stage the 3 plants no nutrients were added to the reservoir, and it was noted that one of the plants grew substantially taller than the other 2. During the vegetative stage and the first few weeks of flower nutrients were added periodically to the reservoir. When they started to flower the taller one turned out to be male and was culled, the smaller female was then removed to reduce competition. Around the 3 to 4 week mark of flower, none of the lower budsites had develop, so the fan leaves below where the buds should've been were removed as well. During the flowering stage the weight of the bud compared to the stem thickness meant that we had to support the stem with a splint. No LST or HST methods were used on this grow. The seeds were germinated late November 2018 and started to flower mid January 2019, it was harvested on 17/04/19. It was then hung in a drying box for 6 days(23/04/19) and then placed into a glass jar with a 8gram, 62% boveda sachet. A dry trim was performed before placing the bud into the jar. When harvested it weighed 8.2g with leaves and stem on, after the dry its new weight was 1.8g and after the trim a final weight of 1.0 gram was produced. The plant had a citrus-like aroma during flowering and once harvested and dried, it still has its citrus-like smell with now a slight undertone of more cheesier dank. I will attach a smoke review soon, it is still curing and shall be smoked with a friend to commemorate his stay here.
