  1. Most soils on the market have a heavy hand of coco mixed in, this makes the soil light and fluffy. Light and fluffy is the type of meduim weed likes. The compost added to the coco can be very broken down already, super fine particles of goodness, tend to compact and make a denser heavier soil, which is less what cannabis likes... Now if all soils were equal, you would know you have enough nutes for veg and what ratio the elements are in and how to use the soil correctly for best results. This has never been the case with soil... Shit, even from bag to bag of the same soil can be vastly different in composition to each other... Ideal for a noob? Hell no... Ideal for an experienced grower? Maybe... If he is making his own compost and knows the ratios more or less... So now what about hydro? All the control in the world! But you gotta do that... You gotta control it... If you leave it... Shit goes south very quickly. But it's easy to fix with a fresh res. Should noobs be going this way then with all their eagerness and want to be in control? Maybe... If you like the control side of things and have the patience and willingness to be diligent then you will really reap the rewards. But if you know yourself and you're a lazy cunt... Hydro is not the way for you. So then... Coco? Cheaper than soil by a considerable amount Inert Light and fluffy You know what you put in is there, and nothing else, no imbalance of nutes... A clean slate so to speak. It has the flexibility and control of hydro, with the benifits of being able to neglect or be slow without it going wildly out of control. So what now... You need salt based nutes... Non organic? Bleh?! Nonsense... You are feeding them the elements they need... Directly... They don't have to be broken down first to get absorbed and used... They just get used... You feed today, you have results tomorrow. For noobs? I feel coco is an all round best and convenient way to grow weed. Very little room to mess things up... But it's also fairly easy to fix any mistakes you may have made. And for experienced growers? I have heard of soil grows converting to coco and doubling their yeilds... Double mother fuckers, can you hear me?? Soil can only compete with coco run after run after run under the guidance of a truly great grower... That's my R1 to this take

    Hello

I would skip soil if you are growing indoor... BOOM I said it..... I love coco If you want the easiest way to grow, get yourself a nice brick of coco, 5kg one should do the trick... Get some salt based nutes, nutriplex or GHE is great, follow the directions on the bottle and it really is that simple. You will need a way to measure pH of your feed and run off... And I think that's it. 250w light... Led? Hps? Coco Bottle salt based nutrients PH pen along with pH down and up ammendments Grow weed lol Ask me to grow outside though... And soil is the way and the light son

    Hello

Welcome sunshine!! If we cannot get you growing your own finest in the pozie... Then I guess we will try harder Great news that you will have a bit of a grow space going... But to be honest... Not sure how much you smoke... But 1/2 plants is roughly 100g... Every 5 months. So roughly 20g per month. You can grow it bigger... But bigger takes up more space. What is your setup budget and how are you wanting to grow? Coco, soil, hydro?
  4. Im with @prom here. Sometimes you just need calcuim... And other times you just need magnesium. I have always tried to seperate them. To mix your own you need a box of Epsom salts, and a same weight bag of calcuim nitrate (it's the part B of hortimix range for quick finding) And then use the one you need. Use the calmag to buffer your meduim before you use the meduim to grow in
  5. @Teal Smith I use the blue one... But both are really good and quite accurate
  6. I'll get the charts I use for the absorb rate for pH... The deficiency chart is the standard one online... I have learned to visually identify deficiencies so I don't have to use the chart so much. And your idea is sound... Some plants do like different pH... But even as an experienced grower, I still don't know which plants like different pH lol. So stick to basics for now... And when you have run the same plant for a few seasons... The exact same plant... Cuttings and stuff... Then you can play with pH and test things
  7. @Teal Smith, it depends on the meduim you use. Soil - 6.2 to 6.7 is sharp Hydro - 5.8 to 6.2 Coco - 5.6 to 6.0 seems to give great results And these I would use pretty much all the way through the grow. Unless I spot a deficiency that shouldn't be around... Then I check the deficiency chart and what pH it gets absorbed best and feed at a point or 2 higher or lower than that... Depending if I have a low pH or a high pH issue.
  8. I'm still gonna stick to my diagnosis.... My plants do that every day thanks to loadshedding Plants sleep... Take a peak at your flowering ladies during their dark cycle...they are also gonna be droopy looking. They perk up about 30 min before lights on so you may never have noticed
  9. Lol as I was reading this I was like, you must have changed your light schedule or something and lo and behold you did lol What you are seeing is the plants going to sleep... Not tired or anything lol. My thinking is that when you changed the schedule you made it light where it used to be dark... So like. It sounds like the light used to be off 3 hours earlier than now... Which explains the plants going to sleep. Repeat... Not tired plants... Just sleeping
  10. What's uuuuuup!! What light are you using? Or are you growing outdoors for now? Do you have any meters to measure pH and EC? Those sound like some yummy genetics man! Best of luck and ask all the questions you need bro
  11. Shot man! Yea hit us up with what you thinking of growing bruv and a few pics of what you have set up so far
  12. Sounds like you have pumped a pretty penny into your new found hobby my bru! Lights, tent, extraction and air movement. You are set for a wonderful experience! Stick around and learn what you can. Your grow is likely to have little issues if you keep things as is... But growing can get really challenging at times so the more you know the better!
  13. Nice boooi, and what about the lights? What are you running yo? Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay! I wouldn't be terribly concerned about that damage at the moment. I think the okes nailed it with fan damage. I would get the fans mounted into the corners of your tent and have them oscillate. You don't need gusts of wind blowing past them the whole time. A gentle breeze with good extraction is key.... Air movement. Stagnant air is the enemy because plants deplete the C02 from stagnant air very quickly.
  14. Pandora is fine haha I can always get another Zkittlz glue... But where will I find another Panduru???
  15. And cats.... Cats are the enemy. My cat lovingly rubed against a 2 week old Zkittlz Glue fem and now it's DEAD!!
  16. Trusted grow circles!! The best way to grow 30+ strains and pheno hunt.
  17. Alright alright alright guys! Give this bruski a break long enough for him to show us his grow haha!! Welcome bro! Make yourself at home and I hope we can glean some wisdom from you as you will from us

    Liontree LED's

Looking good man! The light seems to be doing the things! You also look on top of your game
  19. Loads of tips from the bois!! My 2c would be... Well quite a few cents actually. 1)light - the light you have is really great for veg and flower, but its value will be in the flowering stage mostly. - I would follow @afternoon blazer advice about the Acdc lights... Really good bang for your buck for veg growth. And then use the 600w HPS for flower only. Recipe for success with lighting. I wouldn't fully convert to LED just yet if you are happy paying the electric bill you get. But it's definitely where the market is moving LED quantam boards and high output diodes. 2)the meduim. Christ it looks scary... The barky bits are no good. I would honestly try cut the plants out of that meduim, even if you damage some of the roots, and put it in the meduim with perlite. I recommend getting yourself some coco and mixing it with the perlite. This is the right meduim for cannabis. Even the soil soils are mixed with a lot of coco to make it a lighter arier meduim. Or get one of the recommended brands and use as is. Telling you... Guaranteed success son. 3)the nutes. Seagrow is a great all round nute source! And is a valuble addition to your toolbelt. There are tons of better nutes available... But this is not the worst you can do either... So all good man. If you can afford other nutes, I will suggest the biobizz range. How are you feeding the plants? This is where I want to highlight the most. Not a single one of your plant pics has a moderately dried out meduim... Every Pic you posted has drenched pots. The amount of water in the pots with the seedling should be fine for like the next 2 weeks without watering. And your bigger ones should be fine for like a week as well. And you should not be using any of the seagrow nutes at all yet... Plants are just too small. It would seem as you have been caught in the new hobby snare... Loving your new passion to death. This is a long game... Zero aspects of growing require constant adjustment. My 4c is you have not been letting your meduim dry out sufficiently. Light is good, nutes are good, airflow is good.... Watering habits are bad... Naughty naughty lol. As you are new, use this tip to help with watering. Actually, here's 2 tips for watering. A) pot weight test. Weigh your meduim before you water it... So you know what a 'light' meduim feels like... And then water, and only water again when the pot is light, or you have weighed it again and it is getting close to the base number. This approach works well with few plants. B) the knuckle test. Get your fingers stuck in there man... I don't water a damn thing until I can feel that the meduim is only alil moist about 2 knuckles down. That's about 5cm...2 whole inches. Then water till you get a bit of runoff, and then you are good again for a while. Cannabis NEEDs to have a wet to dry cycle. Not a wet to moist cycle. Peace and love bud! I know you gonna get this right
  20. @peanutbjt, At this point you don't need to worry too much. But I am also battling to pinpoint it... It looks like a half typical magnesium issue... But the brown spots also look like bug damage At any rate, what are you feeding it? I would grab a box of Epsom salts from pnp just to be safe... And mix a teaspoon of it into your next water/feed. Can't harm it and it will sort the magbesuim problem out if it is magnesium. If it's bugs... You gotta remove the leaf and inspect the plant heavy... Top of the leaf, under the leaf... The petiole, the stem, the new nodes. Look for macroscopic movements in the top layer of the soil... But so far the plant actually looks fine other than that one blemish. Another thing... The damage will never heal... But the new growth and the older growth won't make more brown rust spots
  21. What's up @DandyZion! Come join us and show us what you got!! Hit us up with a grow diary so we can see what's been cracking!
  22. What's up yo! Welcome to the party! There is a whole section on extracts and I'm sure you will find some good info. As for the hardware, you can take a look at the classified section and maybe you find something that you like
  23. I was also busy in the compost this weekend at my dad's place... It's quite a workout turning the pile. My dad's been composting some stuff for a good few years now and the stuff we found at the bottom was really beautiful sweet smelling black gold, loaded with earthworms. The garden is going to loooove it
  24. Ha! The only ladies I have in my life stay in the room until I need them
