  1. Whats up guys! i have a new set of beans on the grow and i think its gonna be amazing! the lineage is mouthwatering and previous runs of the parents provided excellent results! i am posting this with my pc and will need to add pics with my phone, so keep posted! 12x Euphoric Banana 12x Ghiquita! both parents had some purple pops and high frost, so visually impressive buds before and after trimming. oh and they are regulars, so you know how it goes, ill hopefully get more than 50% female
  2. very nice @Prom, i have no doubt that you followed the process correctly, but using 3 seeds from the same cultivar can still produce results like yours. im not disputing your results, but for your method to be proven correct, you will need to rerun this test a few times, and the plant with 250um need to outperform the other 2 plants every time, especially if you consider the sun being way more powerful and without a dimmer solution putting out 1500ppfd and the plants love it. but i agree with your stance on an apogee - to be precise you need to be precise, because you cannot attain perfection without being precise
  3. I'll give you more than just the tip if you don't watch out

Did I read that right? Your mate is growing new strains with the man DJ Short himself?? Get out of here that's so sick!

You just make me salavate bru... I know so many people who have not experienced a real cheese strain. My cheesiest ever was a gram I bought in the south of Jhb, labeled Blue Cheese Fuck me... I wake up some nights with a wet bed because of this strain. Blue stinky cheese when you pop the bag... So loud you can smell it from outside your car! This... And a blueberry lady that stole my heart, and tasted purer than a mugg & bean blueberry muffin... Completely astonished how real the smells and tastes were. This is why I grow weed.... Those 2 strains are the inspiration for me
  6. Outdoor soil has quite a bit of nutes for me in general I think, so outdoor I would use the biobizz range, or seagrow and nitrosol. I am by far not the best guy to ask about this haha. I know collecting kitchen scraps is good, but I don't know the ratios to use as you can easily overdo the kitchen waste if you don't have a large enough compost pile. You also need to keep to a good ratio of greens and browns, fresh leaves, and dried leaves. Maybe @SkunkPharmcan drop some knowledge, I know he makes his own soil
  7. That just sounds silly. You have no idea what mix of nutes the meduim is letting go of. Like... If you are using it in your garden then I see zero harm in small quantities, which runoff usually is. But as for benifits, I would say they are also negligible. I don't water till runoff... Well, not enough runoff to be worth it to collect and distribute. Maybe you water too much at a time? @Weedomics
  8. Yo man!! Welcome to the site!! LOL excuse this bunch... They are proper mad hatters haha!! As for your organic/salts question They are pretty much the same elements. Organic, is more often than not, derived directly from some sort or composting or process to create very rich sources of nutrients for plants. Soils with an established microbe population will quickly get to work breaking it down that little bit more so that the roots can absorb it - many organic nutes claim to be readily available in bottles form which is great! But then you get salts... The elemental exactness of what enables plants to grow.... You need potassium? Fuck the bananas, gooi potassium! Need nitrogen? Gooi calcuim nitrate! Need anything your plants lacking? Salts are directly available to be taken up by roots and don't need to be further broken down to become usable. And that's the main difference between the two. Lemi know if that hit the spot or left you wanting more
  9. Alrighty, let me clarify my comment. With a small outdoor light to keep the plants in veg, then outdoor veg starts end of August and ends the 1st of March when you remove the outdoor light from play. Then proper flowering happens and you end up with a much less leafy bud structure due to the clean cut over In light cycle, even though it's outdoor. That's my outdoor best practice. But if you don't have an outdoor light handy and won't be able to make a plan for one for the next few years, then outdoor season is marginally different. Plant from mid September as advised and the plant will be huge and likely start flowering from mid January. Not my ideal grow vibes but it is what it is

i am very keen to play the game - hows it gonna work?

    My grow.

thats pretty much it @StickyD420, root zone issues but it could be ph, or rot from over watering, or hot soil
  12. okay sweet, yea then you have all the info you need. no need to beat a dead horse anymore hehe i generally wait till its dry down to the 2nd knuckle before i water. is a bit of a dig, and i would try use the same hole for the next feel so i dont poke my roots too badly. the knuckle test works better than the weight test for soil applications where even the dry medium is pretty heavy

    My grow.

some questions here. looks like your new growth has been eaten? and your leaves are a bit shiny, did you spray the plant with anything? and a plant this young should not have any issues in a medium that large. the medium does look a tad wet but not sure whats up. for info sake, what is your PH? do you ph?
  14. i would put her in the sun during the day and see how she reacts. if you stick your finger into your soil, how deep do you need to go before you can feel moisture on your finger? first knuckle? 2nd knuckle?
  15. with the plant being that small, that feed you just described should be enough for a few weeks haha at most that plant will use 200 - 400ml water a 7/10 days how many litres are you watering at a time and what do you do with your left over nutrient feed?
  16. you could lower your light a few cm to get the heatsink in the box too - theres all the heat you will need haha also, if your temps are not going below 15, then i dont think you need to do anything to improve the heat situation.
  17. Nice man! Nice big tent! Do you have it sectioned in half for veg and flower? Or is it an all in one tent at the moment?
  18. Coco in itself is inert and doesn't have any nutes. So depending on your setup, you can easily use either or in coco. Salt based products like hortimix are very good, but so are the more organic options

  20. Nominal power - 3000w Total draw - 130w Thanks @Ill_Evan @DamDave please reconsider for your own benifit
  21. @DamDave, I would get more info on them and read some constructive criticism about them, reviews and such. I would consider the options the forum offers before going with that light. It does look a bit more decent than a standard blurple... But in saying that, it is just not that many leds and you might need a few to make it worth your while. 4 grand can get you some very decent lights that are proven to be head and shoulders above most internet bought lights
  22. Never heard of it before. How high was it above your plants? Before you raised it
