  1. Seedlings are a lot more resilient than you think... I mean... They grow great under the sun? The trick here isn't the intensity of the light... But more the light heat from your lights... But if you wanna be on the safe side... Start them far away under your grow light, and then once the first true leaves are out... The Lil seedling can get all the light she can get to reduce stretch... If you see stretch... It's because the seedling is searching for better/more intense light...
  2. My 2c says there are more of proven guidelines for any kind of storage for anything... Be it seeds or art or books. If you want to preserve it best, you need an environment that is not conducive to molds and bacteria slowly gnawing away at your precious shit. So to do that, you need a cool environment with very low humidity. Keep it out of sunlight... And that's the only light you need to be concerned about... Doubt you're going to store your seeds under your lights either... But a fridge/room/garage light is not going to affect your seeds in the slightest. So the closest to this would be a fridge in one's home. Valid point brought up by @Naughty.Psychonaut condensation is a problem in a fridge, so storing them in the draw in the fridge is the better option than the fridge door or top shelf. Also rice and silica gel absorb moisture in the air/container which will drop the humidity right down. If I'm not mistaken, seed banks keep their seeds at 5°C and 5%RH
  3. Pyrol works like a charm if you can spray on and under the leaves... Not good for buds though... Latest I spray in flower is 3 weeks
  4. I actually do not bro. It was imported and I can't remember what I paid... I think around 400 or so
  5. Not really... If it is a bricked area... Then you can suck the shit out of the room.... But if it is a tent then yes you can have too much extraction.... Imagine cuscking the air out of a soda can... It will crumple inwards if the supports are not strong enough. You can buy a variable resistor to adjust the extraction.
  6. Per month China.... It's more expensive than my own grows monthly costs
  7. SA Horticulture Sahorticulture.co.za They are open for delivery... But they have a standard delivery fee of 300 or something because they deliver huge stock to companies... So if they will let you go pick up, then it's worth your while... Otherwise the delivery fee might be more than your order lol
  8. I have one of these and so does @PsyCLown, they are very nice and handy. The only downside is my phone isn't powerful enough to proses the feed properly, so I need to use a laptop... But the quality is sweet and the magnification is also pretty decent. It also focuses on distant objects like a normal camera if you adjust the focus. Well worth the money in my opinion
  9. I just checked, and perlite is porous and can take in some of the hyperchlorites. But in saying that, I used to boil my hydroton/Leca in the kettle with some unscented jik and it worked like a charm hey. I think the more important question is how fine the perlite becomes after each use. I know a place in town where I can get so much perlite for very little... So I would just get new perlite... But to answer your question, washing it with jik will work, but settle on a smallest size perlite and discard everything that is smaller than that. Or mix it in the garden... Somewhere
  10. And then onto the stretch! Neatened her undercarriage completely. Compare to original stems from transplant day. Tallest Cola seems to be topping out at 1.8m from the floor and the rest are averaging between 1.6and 1.7
  11. And here's through the trellis. This was very near flip date. I lowered the lights down to the lowest areas of the canopy for a boost for a few days, and then raised them to this level.
  12. And this is where I will pick up where I left off! Since the last update, my flower area is harvested and restacked, my veg area is barren and I have a few small ladies in the cloning station getting ready for transplant. I managed to find some homes for some of the plants, and one of the 4 Aurora Kush babies has found a home in @PsyCLown tent. The remaining 3 are in the flowering tent now and have been pulling out some magic. I have gone with large 160l totes for buckets and one has soil and the other has coco. So far, they are about the same... Coco dries out faster. Here's a few pics of everything in the tent now. The Aurora Kush ladies are in the front, and I'll introduce the others gradually. I put them into the flower tent and let them settle nicely into their new homes by keeping them in veg for some time... I think 4 weeks more, or 3....cant remember... But the growth was much. Iv upped the wattage on the lights to about 75% which puts me around 370w. Id like to add an extra light panel or 2 for better coverage. But it's okay for now So here are pics from the transplant... The scrog... The trellis, and the start of flowering.
  13. Citradelic sunset Must admit... This bud pulled through in the end and gave me the largest colas and a very good yeild! All phenos ran similarly but only 2 of the 3 made solid buds. The smell is pungent but I find it quite sour. Flavour has been said to be fruity citrusey vibe... I don't get that too much, I get a very woody spicy taste. Compared to others that have this strain going, I could have left them going for another 2 whole weeks! Which could have changed my opinion more favorably. Just makes it to a 7 out of 10 in my books.
  14. Slurricane x juggernaut Slurijugg All phenos smell and taste the same which is consistent. All had decently dense nugs too Very earthy floral flavour which leaves a remarkably pleasant aftertaste for quite some time. Definitely a solid 8 out of 10
  15. What a crazy time! I haven't had time to engage fully with the forum over the past few months. So let's see if I can get another diary going some time... Or pick up on another diary So the last pics you guys saw were nearing the end of the grow. Here is the final harvest with a few pics I still haven't weighed it all properly... But I did weigh some of it... And if I use those figures I guesstimate about 450 odd grams from a 1.2x1.2 area under 300w LED. So not too shabby, but definitely room for improvement... @Prom with his goal of 1kg in a 1x1 area has me inspired.
  16. Lol the time old debate S v I My preference is sativa vibes all the time... I love Indica vibes as well but if a gun was held to my head and I had to make a choice of what I'm gonna grow and smoke for the rest of my life of me and my family gets it...... Then sativa... Which is a shit show for indoor growing!! Like really... What the fuck man?? 100% to 200% stretch?? Ain't nobody got the headroom for that... And then there's the crazy flowering times! 10-16 weeks!!! Nortice tortice So for me... I want hybrids... The kind of hybrids and selective breeding that brings one a sativa high, and Indica growing. I have attained such a plant.... Once... When I was a noob and didn't even know anything about anything... Dense nugs... Short plant... Explosive energy... Marathon endurance get all your shit done vibes... And that's my goal... To find such a plant again.
  17. I doubt going backwards is on the table at all... Considering the raging successes of other countries laxing the bans on cannabis. I think it just means we are gonna be living in the gray area for a bit longer. Mixed emotions there... But so far so good right? I mean, iv only heard of larger grows being in trouble... And I don't think anyone on this site has a grow one could consider "large", barely meduim at most. Which is a good thing. Quality over quantity
  18. Yea it should be fine... I'd switch out the hot soap for some jik or domestos... Let it soak for 20 min or so and it should remove all smells. But either way... You could use it as is and come out fine without the smells. Like PsyClown said... It's the plastic that's retained some smell... So the tiny lingering amount won't make the smell pronounced
  19. Blackstrap mollasses is the crude extract of cane sugar. In a pinch, I have found the rice water is good, oats is good, brown sugar works but you need a lot and I wouldn't say it's a 'good' substitute. Black strap is fairly easy to find - dischem have... And they are open for business... Otherwise any shop with a 'health' vibe section should stock blackstrap... It's very healthy for us hoomans too... And it's very cheap If you only have white sugar, don't use it, and I'm not sure about the Caramel sugar... I think the Caramel flavor is just a flavour... Check the ingredients to the sugar... If it mentions mollasses then you should be fine to use that... If it doesn't mention mollasses then don't use it... If it has Sulphur in it, don't use it. I'd go with some cane sugar juice... But you might need a fair amount as it's not concentrated... 250ml per 10l or more I remember gnawing cane sugar when I was a lighty.... You gonna need a ton of cane sugar for half a litre of juice... I know it might be a schlep... But see if you can't source some unsulphated blackstrap... It really is head and shoulders and nipples above any other microbe foods
  20. pssst hehe what about this year?

    CalMag

Literally what I said lol... The calcuim nitrate is part B hortimix. you sounded more professional though lol I liked that
  22. When times get tough.... You gotta make a bottle bong. Everybody has enough bits laying around to make some kind of smoking contraption...
  23. CreX

    CalMag

Part B hortimix and Epsom salts at a 5:4 ratio. Hydroponics. Co. Za I think they will have calmag mixed already though
  24. Welcome yo !! Shem... Seems like you got caught in the middle of everything with this nasty lockdown!! First up - totally correct with windowsill growing... It's not good... You need direct sunlight on the leaves, and not reflected light. So I say take them outside in the morning so they can get the most sun possible... 11 hours if possible as apposed to likely under 2 hours of direct light while the sun rises or sets on your window sil. And then take them inside to a dark dark place... A windowsill here would also suck if you went into the room and turned a light on... It's not as critical with Autos... But it's important to note it. Next as @Prom mentioned, you need good soil/nutrient feeding What do you have for nutrients currently? If nothing.. Then I suggest you go to pnp and buy some Epsom salts, and if you are lucky and they have a garden section, you should be able to find a basic liquid fertilizer... Don't go granular fertilizer as it's often slow release... And you won't have enough time to effectively use it before harvest... Seagrow is a common one or nitrosol is better for flower and both you can find in pnp garden section. Follow the instructions on the bottle and we might just get you to a better harvest than you hoped for... 1)outside in the wind and the sun all day, and in side in a dark place at night 2)epsom salts and seagrow and you will be happy. Prom did mention that autos need perfection... For a good yeild, everything must be right from the word go. Autos do not recover well from stunting and are often quite a challenge for new growers.
