Love it!! I bought swirskii mites from living seeds and I didn't get enough.. You are right on the money there man, thanks for the new supplier! As I was saying, I really went through a discouraging patch of growing and almost threw in the towel completely.. I left my indoor grows to grow and they got out of hand... It was mostly due to the pests I had.. Thrips and white flies then.. Eating my plants terribly. When I eventually got my vigour back, I found that thrips were on the decline... Whiteflies were all gone... But fuck I had spider webs!! I thought... Here we go... Fuck this all to hell... And started closing shop so to speak... As I investigated further... I found that they were just general house spiders and daddy long legs spiders webs... I put two and two together and realized that I need to preserve this relationship somehow... So I left the spider webs..even if they were on my plants (web development is very very different to spider mites) Obviously one isn't going to abandon their grow to get this right, but you can build it up slowly by leaving the random webs in your grow tent corners... I go further and bring in other predators into the grow from the garden, namely male and female praying mantis, lady bugs when I find them.. I must note that I have a small population of midge flies... I don't get rid of them as the spiders eat them too I have found a balance in my grow space and now I just need to maintain it. But if this isn't an option... 50000 swirskii mites from koppert will sort you out

Leaving the garden spiders and daddy long legs alone... Bringing in praying mantis when I find them... Ladybugs from the garden... I'm fairly lucky that I have so many different helpers around the garden... I still have to be careful when I go from outdoor to indoor... But my veg room has built up quite a nice protection. If you would like, maybe I can open a topic in IPM management and we can talk about it there? I'd love your input and concerns.

Predatory mites are great! Very effective at taking down a population or thrips, white flies, spider mite larvae... But you have to pay for them... And regularly reintroduce them to your garden to keep their effective populations up. I just stumbled apon a cheaper, also reliable method haha

Oi vey! Yea then maybe stick with the plastic idea... Anything would be better than your concrete But some solid advice from @PsyCLown , @Trailblazer420 - Go for a flat white or Matt white, doesn't even have to be white... I saw a saying, "as long as it's Matt light" a light colour. A non shiny surface is best, unless you have some mylar laying around haha

What colour is the wall at the moment?

So iv had quite a change of habits over the last few months... I had lost my growing vigor and had mostly left everything to do whatever the hell it wanted to do... And for the most part, I needed to really put in a ton of work to get everything back to a semi structured and functional grow space. The reason I tell you this is because one of the pleasant surprises I had was garage spiders made themselves comfortable in my area and I had a rapid decline in all my pests... At a stage I had mites, thrips, white fly, and PM... And all of that went away when I left the spiders to do their thing... So I'm not telling you to be a dirty cunt and never clean your grow space... Just know the difference between the good spiders, and the pesky mites, and maybe clean around the webs they make and leave them be for the most part... I know it's completely against what you are used to, but hey, you are trying to replicate nature... And there are spiders around the garden doing a good job at keeping pests low... That way you won't need to fork out on IPM as much too. Food for thought

Soap bar size stones... They do float... Until water gets in... Then it sinks and stays sunk, iv never had any get tangled in my roots before. So I would have them in my fresh water res that I use to water my resies or top up with... And when I need them I reach in and grip one.. Best is using them in my AACT... Once the brew is done I put them in various res buckets that need a tea top up. Not more than 3 in a res, depending on how many airstones I have going.. My water Temps were going down below 10, so I used a heater... Growth has been better since then.. More constant.
-
Sometimes you gotta pull those genes back from the bloom room yo! Good job on keeping them alive... Cuttings from bloom are finicky
-
Nice diary man! My 2c about the damn airstones that float haha! I bought pumice stones... Like 20... And use them in my res... 1)microbes loooove them... 2)They weigh the airstone down 3)i use them as inoculates to other res buckets I don't like airstones that have plastic housing... I mean... I love them because they last and last... But damnit they float!! I like the ones that look like a ball, they don't float and don't split.. Never get the flat ones as they split like a clam after one grow And did you come right with the fishtank heaters bru? They defs make a welcome difference!

Mmm never heard of Co2 for pests... I can imagine it will be effective to some extent... Critters will bugger off when they can't breathe... But I can't imagine it killing them like ozone would... Exact same process, but ozone... The O3 molecule oxidizes organic matter and ruptures small bugs breathing systems so that they die... In a small tent you can prob get the job done in an hour.. Including a full sterilization of your tent. "oxidizes organic matter" means it will damage your leaves stomata in the process... But you are harvesting soon so it's an acceptable solution Sure it's not something you are gonna just whip out your butt... But, you can hire these machines, or get someone to come provide the service.

An alarm panel with a few outputs will work great too... You can program the zones as indicators... Ie high temp, low temp, high humidity, low humidity, water levels... Then they can trigger the outputs to do certain tasks... So you would need the panel and a few relays.. So one day when I have time and am really baked... I'll rig one up and give a demo

Oh! Yes... Growing is addictive lol... The more I research the more parts and amendments I need and crave... I often find myself thinking about my grow before I go to sleep... And very often lose attention and daydream about growing... Mid convo at times... HI! my name is Richard, and I'm a growing addict. It's so bad, my girlfriend has banned me from any shopping isle with lights or fans or anything that could possibly be used to grow with...
-
Sjoe! No takers lol... I wouldn't say it's addictive in the sense that I neeeeeeeeed weed and will suck a D for a gram.. But my GF says I get very agro in my voice and become very agitated if I don't have any for a few days... But addictive? Nah.. I can stop now... But why would I want to

I'm a calm man... Most of the time... But disrespect my privacy and I will let you know how I feel about it.. But to go and touch my hobby stuff... My babies... I would have completely lost my shit... Probly a punch out will ensue... Iv had my share of roomies that just don't care... Also had a tiff with a roomie that ended in damages... He damaged lots of my stuff to the value of a few thousand... Even my light at the time... But I think he came to his senses and did his best to repair it... Anyways.. I was the one who ended my grow at that time... I was pissed and said "there's no way I can see these plants to the end" so I chopped them down and chucked them... Moved out few weeks later... Being young sucks... You generally never have bucks... And generally don't earn enough to live solo, but also don't want to live at home with the parental so you find a mate or mates and live together... Share costs and shit. But it doesnt always work out and friendships are lost or damaged... It took me way too long to bite the bullet and find a place of my own... Find a chick with a job... And figure out how to make living together work.. And throw growing in the mix haha Good luck bro, I hope you have since come right
-
Did you come right man? PsyCLown is right. Blue to N and brown to Nb, for fast, or na for slow... You will need a special switch to have both speeds to switch between... I find that normally slow speed is too slow, and high is too high, or just right... So I would be using Nb for fast...

Also, running a Perpetual grow requires me to have some kind of stability, to accommodate all plant stages within my rooms It could never make sense for me to run 24 hours without an intermediate room to move to before bloom. Single run growers have much more flexibility to play with light cycles and really squeeze the most out of the plant. Note - there are many many more light schedule combos that growers use... But it's normally for a specific purpose or to study how a certain strain grows under different lighting schemes

I like to DIY pretty much everything.. And know many places to get parts... All I really buy at grow shops is the stuff I can't get anywhere else... Nutrients, net pots, LED light systems and grow light systems.. But everything else I can scrounge from somewhere else haha #no offence grow stores!! Living and growing on a budget is no joke haha -
There is a lot of info about plant stress. Especially going from 24/0 to 12/12. Consensus is to gradually reduce the light to 20/4, 16/8 and then flip to 12/12 This reduces the stress on the plant and in turn reduces the chance of a hermie. Growers doing the 18/6 can negate this step as the plants are used to the light cycle and the switch to bloom doesn't stress them too much. That's another reason most growers prefer a 18/6.

Yea man... Even ducting... Builders generally stock it all the time, and even going to them to buy it, it's half the price of most grow stores.. -
I have a whole plant that I need tasteless and odorless... It's sies... So I experimented a bit with water curing, but it still left a smell. I looked under my hand held microscope and found more balls on my stalks than you did... Must admit... I only changed water once a day. All in all... I tried it and am now in the know... And know not to do it again... Just be patient... And be like me... Hang my fresh buds in the pantry
-
Yea man... And even in bloom where most strains get their name from, it's still very open to debate as to what it is... You might get lucky with a great smelling plant that stacks to the roof... But as for a name... Sorry son
-
And the taste!??? I have a whole jar of water dried bud that I'm nervous to try lol... Compared to air dried flower, the look and smell is vastly differnt and quite un nerving... Hit me with more info yo

Omg all I had to do was ask This is a major improvement haha!! Thank you so much!

Yo @420SA! Need help capt!! Okay so it's more of a question of can you add the support. I would like to see a floating mobile menu bar... Currently it is fixed to the top of the page, and it can be a bit of a pain to have to scroll up and up and up to get to the menu... Could you make it so that the menu appears when you try scroll up? And likewise disappears when you scroll down?

Going for a Blueberry Bubblegum Then I'll be happy Edit - bush I recently had may have been pollinated by a Dutch passion blueberry lady that hermied late in flower I have been collecting the seeds and might start a batch to see how they come out. - if I can find some that exhibit similar traits as the mother, and adopt a differnt smell, I might keep those and see where they take me. Ideally I would like to keep this mother going and pollinate her with the right male and keep those seeds...
