Good luck to all, I currently do not have the space to plant my seeds as yet.
-
I've ordered from them, plants seem to be what i ordered. It was a fairly simple transaction albeit on the pricier side. Came nicely packaged aswell.

Hello and welcome To me it looks like a nutrient deficiency, are you feeding anything?
-
Hey bro, So my personal opinion, setup two tent's if you want a perpetual grow/harvest. You could germinate both seeds, and then make clones at a later stage for the second tent which is veg only, once you have decided on the size of your plants and are happy you can move them to the flower tent. For me personally, i tried germinating seeds by soaking in water, then the paper towel method. I wasn't able to spend enough time at home and as a result the paper towel dried and i lost about 4 seeds. If you have purchased seeds you know that's not a small loss. Anyway, moving on i planted the seeds directly into seedling mix from GTHydro, put the small pots into a humidity dome and left them for a few days, and had a 100% success rate on those seeds. so that now becomes my preferred germination method. Watch your plants as they grow, and as you notice developments on the plants, ask uncle G about what you are seeing, and research as much as you can, even ask questions on here. You will eventually get a feeling for when your plants need to be moved from pots etc.. Also, keep a grow diary of when you last watered/how much feed etc for your refrence down the line, also make sure you can identify which plant is which and when you do clone, which clones come from which mother's. All in all, have fun and learn, enjoy the journey.

dodgy or not, you are so lucky to have that kind of space available. Good on you bro, nice size space. I like it.

I second the potential overwatering, that's what it looks like to me

Could i ask for pics of what the plant looks like now? -
Hey Z, 1) Yes in my opinion it will be sufficient for the space. The lumii ballast is working well for me, although i haven't had it long. 2) Check out the cooltube, with ducting and an exhaust fan it really does a fantastic job at controlling the heat. It is far superior to any open bulb type fixture in terms of heat regulation. 3) I would steer clear of dual spectrum bulbs, rather get a specific MH/HPS bulb and change them accordingly. 4) Even just as a hobby, it get's pretty pricey to put together a proper grow setup. Other considerations would be humidity/air movement (oscillating fans), intake fans etc.

Is there any chance we can get this in JHB? @GrowGuru perhaps if we order something else you can include in the shipment? -

This is very cool. -
So i am thinking to flip this girl, wondering if i should first transplant into a 40l pot before flowering? soil drying very quickly now, but when i watered the other day got behavior of over watering so just needs to be managed.

Shit dude, sorry to see that. Hope she recovers. -
So i have sprayed with the lemon water, still seeing some spots but not as aggressive as before. I did some defoliation and added an oscilating fan (not in pics) Took photos with 2 different phones, just to see the difference personally.

Like i said, I am mainly documenting my thoughts on your problem perhaps for later reference. I have also been told that RO strips too much out of the water, the more experienced organic growers are using de-chlorinated tap water (leave tap water in a bucket in the sun for a day or so and it will be de-chlorinated) Hopefully someone has the answer you seek, I am not nearly versed enough to sing a song..

I don't think he added nutes, he did say that he has only watered with RO water which is ph'd. I just think it may be the incorrect soil and it's burnt them, should try get a proper seedling mix. As you are growing in soil, how are you adjusting the pH? This should be done with lemon juice for pH down and bicarb for pH up (Use bicarb slowly, very strong and adjusts the pH up very quickly.) <- This is all info given to me on this forum.

Hey bro, So i am having my own problems, also with my first grow, but for my experience etc i would like to record what i think about the above. To me it looks like some plants are getting nutrient burn, which would indicate the incorrect soil. Not sure if you are using seedling mix or you planted straight into (I guess normal soil?)?

Yes, there is light leaks when the light is on, which means it's not 100% light proof, and I dont have blackout curtains on the room window so.. Okay shit, you guys are making me nervous with all the stuff I am doing incorrectly, I will do the lemon juice and wipe the tent with bleach. Previous owner ensured me there was no disease/pests in the tent, guess my trust is too strong..
-
Dude legit, the light was the same distance as it is now, at the top of the tent basically, I would say there is a good 700mm between plant and light, maybe less. I had the thermometer standing on a box to try and mimmick the plant height, and that's what the thing told me. So I dont know if it's a faulty temp sensor, it was bought from hydro herb... but yeah, bought the cooltube now I can have my hand basically under the light without burning.
-
So to be honest, when I bought the complete tent setup it came with a budget open reflector, I put that monitor in the tent and it shot to over 50, which is when I purchased the cool tube and big exhaust fan. I'm very worried about an open light, although now with the lost faith in the ballasts available I am considering an upgrade to the gravitas, but there goes my cool tube setup.. so stuck in a required decision
-
Ya and my ballast popped this morning aswell.. Will need to get that replaced tomorrow.. The reason i turn the fans off is because the temp drops much lower with the light off and the fans running, worried about the cold night time temps.. I wouldn't switch off the oscillating fan once installed.
-
Also, to answer some other questions. The light cycle is 18/6 so basically the veg cycle, although I think she wanted to start flowering before I put her in the tent, I just want her bigger. PWM = Powdery white mildew
