  1. Awesome I'm am curious, and really no offense meant, now that it is legal for personal use and cultivation, why remove the terpenes? Must be a bit old school, cause i was looking at the water curing thread like wtf? I love this hobby! Bit of a flavour junkie when it comes to smoking bud, I have heard that the terpenes are also responsible for some of the medical properties of Cannabis. Perhaps something to consider, but I understand the taste of green cannabis is not the greatest. This can also be remedied by making some bubble hash extract or dry sift to use for edibles. Cooking should taste a bit less grassy, dosage however will be a bit more tricky I expect.
  2. Californian Orange is such a classic strain! If the buds have a really tang orange taste that lingers around I would consider making that a mother plant. :) Not sure if water curing removes a lot of the terpenes responsible for taste. And oh yeh, looks super normal like @Green Leaf Organics said, alien. She wants to be a mom!
  3. Just like seedlings in a veggie garden, clones usually get hardened off to the humidity, temps and also light intensity. Going from a cfl to a hps can really stress a clone out, as well as going from high humidity to lower, etc. You can harden clones to the light and temps in a similar fashion. Expose them to the room that they will grow in for a hour or two, if the wilt before then move them back straight away. If they seem happy increase the time in the room the next day by a hour or two. You will notice your clones enjoying their new home more and more, usually 5 days to a week does the trick. Bear in mind I haven't grown much indoors in a while now so other growers can feel free to correct me!
  4. Congrats on your roots! Well done, Nice little cloner, I have to build a little DIY setup as well. Buying rockwool gets old fast! With clones I usually keep dome closed day or two (only opening to mist), then about 25% open for a day, I increase it every day by about 25% until clones harden off.
  5. Welcome to the herb growing family @highjinx Cannabis is a really easy plant to grow if we provide a good environment and their basic needs they do very well! Like @Bospatrollie2 said, feel free to ask questions if you are unsure about things. Harvesting and curing the meds is usually just as important as growing, especially for medical patients. My sister suffers from very bad Fibromyalgia, shame, and some people think it is not even a real thing (maybe cause no pills help). It is however a combination of many things, of which severe inflammation in the joints and muscles is one of them. Vaporizing almost any strain of Cannabis really helps to relieve the pain and other symptoms, as well as getting a better nights rest. Ingesting oils can be pretty intense and long lasting experience for new and even experienced patients. CBD can help balance this out but it could still be a very long day for the new patient, sometimes feeling groggy, sleepy and basically not themselves. My sister is using the dry herb Vaporizer for now and seems to help a lot. Smoking and vaping can get done in moderation so that the new patient can get a feel for the medicine. Best wishes and richest blessings.
  6. This is a pretty straight forward article about humidity growweedeasy.com/humidity
  7. Side note: I will try describe strains as accurate as possible, bear in mind the original genes arrived at my door more than 8 years ago. I won't go WaltDisney yet and start calling every phenotype out of a cross something like "manderin zkittlez". Will leave that for the boys and girls that find those ELITE moms. I am always up for discussing genes of my crosses in more detail. This baby really surprised me, grown outdoors tastes like some damn potent indoor Chemdawg mixed up with fruits and sherbert. Posting this babygirl first. Grown by me outdoors, organically, harvested a tad early, perhaps a week or so, but super happy with her. Took the pic in the morning sun. BlueBerry Kush (Blueberry x Hindu Kush) x KushCookies (Afghani x GirlScoutCookies) - F1 OG tasting pheno. Edit: I realize my camera is not the best quality, will look to Wish perhaps for some HD cam so I can give better detail. Hope it gives a general idea. Ok the day calls! Take it easy SA, Big Up Yourself and your Crew them!
  8. Sup 420SA Disclaimer: I breed Cannabis seed as a hobby to help preserve seeds (genetics) and possibly improve certain strains. I provide these genetics for free to our Collective of growers, most of which are medical patients. I am not a master breeder, this was the first year that I could see so many of my own crosses being grown out, a wonderful experience. After being a custodian for so many years, it is time we share the Fire with the community. Some of the bud shots will be grown by me, most pictures I will post here will be from growers and future breeders in our Collective. Blessed love
  9. Some of my home bred, and home grown nuggets. Buds were grown outdoors and harvested a week or two early, some buds went amber trichs. This was a little session i blazed up this morning. Sorry my phone camera is a bit kakerig, looking to get a nice HD cam some time. Effects and taste vary. Some Euphoric, thought provoking, munchies and falling asleep, one of my favorite's right now tastes a bit like orange sherbet mixed with some Amsterdam coffeeshop skunky cheese taste. The top bud is a mostly Kush variety with a bit of Cookies from her grandparents. The other little nuggies are different pheno's from a BlueBerryKush x GirlScoutCookies F1 cross I made in 2018. I'll get into the genetics more if anybody is interested, but for now I just want to mention that the Great grandparents all come from Sunny California via the international forums, from the illegal days when US growers used to send out freebies.
  10. @greenkush , with Auto's you can still veg your non-autos to fill wasted space before the flip, not sure i follow you there. Loads of space, if you deal with the grow like that each time you will loose grams per watt. Surprised nobody advised it.
  11. No problem, you are welcome. This is the best hobby in the world, happy to be able to help. Good luck, please, please just don't cook your baby, slow and steady, 27 degrees is a safe bet, temps can go down some when she is sleeping.
  12. @Slartibarfast it would be my guess that the lower temps are responsible for the slower growth. Indoors optimum temps (according to the internets) is around 27 degrees. Personally I like to make it a little bit hotter than that for some Indica strains. If you raise the temps the plant should use the water up a bit faster as well as evaporation will increase, growth will most likely speed up. Please remember to keep an eye on things if you make changes, usually best to heat up the ambient temps outside the box to avoid cooking them inside. Relative humidity might also go down so you might want to keep an eye on that depending on where you live and what strains you are growing. With HPS lighting we are always trying to cool things down!
  13. Some nice looking buds @Master_G , congrats! When doing a SCROG you could veg them out a little bit longer and fill out the screen a bit more, some fming, training, etc. It not the easiest to determine the stretch when first growing a strain, unless the info is provided and strain is super stable. Even then environmental conditions could throw you a curve ball. The hazes have been bred to be quite short these days and do not seem to stretch like the more oldschool varieties. Your tent has some good headroom so you should be fine to fill the screen completely and flip. EDIT: REALIZED YOU ARE USING AUTOS, so you could just plant more if you are continuing down the auto route, nice setup. Well done.
  14. Gotcha Along with killing the light cycle for a day or two prior two harvest this is not a bad thing to experiment with, indoors, on a plant or two, best would be 2 clones from the same mom. Not to be too technical, a week away from harvest the plant already knows its over, especially if there are cold nights, shorter hours etc. I did some searches and saw guys are even drilling holes in the stem prior too harvest. Seems to be working for them, indoors, or simply a sure way to kill a plant.
  15. @Slartibarfast , one thing I forgot to ask, are your temps lower than the previous grow? Temperature plays quite a big role in plant development, as well as extreme temp swings.
  16. Yeh infections is really not worth it at this stage in the game, as well as the plant diverting its energy to heal the wounds could affect overall yield in the end. Your plant looks awesome by the way, nuff respect, I'm sure you are going to be rewarded for your patience. That mature Sativa will most likely send peeps flying. EDIT: Indoors in a controlled environment would be a different story, still then I would experiment on one plant and see if there is a major difference. If a person uses identical clones in the same room you could get some good ideas if it works or not. Never realized guys are doing it at the end of the flowering cycle. We learn something every day!
  17. @Slartibarfast I have absolutely no experience with LED lighting, but as far as deficiencies go from that picture I wouldn't say so, even a nice little sheen on the leaves. Some plants are a bit slow out the gates and then get going, prob building that root system. Lets hear what some of the other members have to say, I am by no means a expert.
  18. @Gnome I was referring to this ^^ , just meaning if some are ready earlier chop em first, like berries. EDIT: About the stem splitting, it usually gets done during the vegetative stages, not really recommended as plant could get infections etc. With that said it does get done, I believe its a ancient technique from India (don't quote me on this). The theory is that after the plant heals the wound it has increased its resin production and will keep producing at those levels. I think now with colder nights and dampness it would do more harm than good, just my opinion.
  19. Looking very nice @Gnome , your trichs are starting to go from clear to milky white, thought I saw one or two amber trichhead towards the end, I would say you are entering the harvest window, which could last some weeks depending on the weather and the strains. Just talking out of my own experience, Indica's usually ready up a bit faster than the sativas. If bottom buds still have clear or milky white trichs when the top buds gets ready you could harvest the top first and leave the bottom to ready up some more. Have done this many times with Sativa's and hybrids in the past. Some Sativas can go through winter and start to reveg again in spring, depending on your location ofc, frost usually kills em.
  20. I have never tried with colloidal silver, however I can tell you the stuff we get at the store for personal use is only 5ppm. Back in the 'ol days some people used aspirin sprayed onto a flower for a week or two, not sure about the dosage tho. Does it have to be colloidal silver? I have had success inducing male flowers onto females by disrupting light cycles. Very easy method.
  21. The plant looks healthy enough, growth rate for auto's depend a lot on the light cycle that you are providing along with light intensity etc. How many hours of light does it receive? How strong is the light? Only other thing I can think of is perhaps slight over watering as the leaves are drooping a bit, unless plant was watered prior to the picture. If the purple continues down the vein of the leave it would indicate a ph problem, but it does not look like that right now, purple stems are quite normal in many varieties.
  22. Hi all, local grower and breeder here, I have been fortunate enough to travel and smoke some bud from all over the world. The best is always grown at home. :) Looking forward to hang out here at 420SA Here is a local mixed up with my Cookies
