  1. Well its been a minute... Still have these strains around and just about to finish up the next flowering run. The Choc Kush have been good to me for the last few runs and a very decent yielder. I have a very big liking for the DSS and KB7 and they will be around for a few more runs. I have not been able to take pictures as usual but will upload some that is available. I will also try to be a bit more proactive on my grow dairies. I have been doing my own soil but it seems to be a bit light when it comes to flowering but I have been giving it some attention and hopefully the next few runs will be better with fading starting later on. I have added some new strains to the list and looking for those keepers but mainly looking for the local fire!
  2. Mr. Organic welcome back man, Its been a while but happy you back online to share that knowledge.
  3. @PromHi how's it going? I need some advice if you don't mind? I received this message from UPS "Good Day, We have a shipment for you and we require the exact description in order to process clearance. Regards, Brokerage Specialist,UPS SCS South Africa" There is a company in the states that send me some hydro nutrients to try, Will I get the package if I declare it as Nutrients? Do not think they are registered in SA. The company declared it as product samples.
  4. @Bay Seedsdamn dude you guys rocking this boat! @CannabistThanks for the work you guys putting in to get us a local's list all in one place!
  5. Yeah man add those guys to the local's list on the Cannabist site, will be great having a good local selection.
  6. Greetings brother, all good this side thank you! We have a nice section here on 420SA as the Grow Report section, that to me is key and serves as a quick reference to see what to expect for a future grow or breeder. That is where we can help the local breeders, grow their lines and give honest review. If breeders is favoured by the community that reputation will spread and demand will grow for the said breeder or breeders. Another point for me is the ability off the strain the take stress, I stress the shit out of my plants to make sure they are tough and if the smoke comes out good it has to be a good plant. If the plant survives the stress and still performs great I think the breeder is on to something good then. Environment is key for most but sometimes those perfect conditions can't be kept and that is where the plant should have the ability to keep on performing and deliver.
  7. Yeah I think give the local guys a spot to shine. But also think there should be some standard set, Consistency and trust is key. There will always be the true breeders and then the "fly by night" guys. Track record will speak for itself and I think we should start tracking these local guys and do our own grow reports where people can have reference to, trade that's fire phenos in a clone form and see if it can be repeated by other growers, then that can be considered a true keeper. Local breeders should build a community of followers and growers, charging the same as international breeders don't make sense to me unless you are targeting international growers. There will be breeders that want to share their bests and then the profit and pollen chucking whores. Buying international stock and just pollen chucking doesn't make you a breeder either, anyone with some deep pockets can do that, breeding is a passion and that passion brings fire. From my personal experience there is some real Fire breeders in SA, they should be given the opportunity to show their stuff and having a local seed bank where one can have reference to will be great, so yeah man go ahead and do your research, list these local guys and have them reach out to the community and get some grow logs on, Totemic is ahead in this space as he has a good track record and easy to make reference to. A buddy of mine I shared a smoke with (Chocolope) was so impressed that it was a local breeder and best of all I just referred him to 420SA and said to check Totemic's threads. Just having nice pictures of weed on a site does not give me the reassurance that it will be good, I've seen nice buds with no taste and no high. The proof will be in the community, smoke reports and ultimately customer satisfaction. Do it man! Just do it! Get those local breeders into a one stop shop and let's get growing!
  8. Greetings Weed Lovers! Wow time really does fly. I will do an update over the weekend. Managed to get them all to the end with no major problems. This was my best harvest personally, not quantity but definitely quality. A lil sneek peak Rock hard nugs, pungent deliciousness, sticky icky goodness.
  9. Greetings @Dank , Have you watched the movie "Kiss the Ground"?
  10. Greetings all. well not much to complain about, no major problems either. This is Choc Kush and looking the best in the tent. Going to be some nice colas from tbis lady as all the branches are loaded with bud sites. Then we have Sherb breath, this plant smells like mixed candy bowl/ packet skittles. She was a lil stretchy but not to much at all, also building lovely bud sites. Then there is this lady,Jacob's Ladder wow she is eager with the resin production and pushing some citrus smells. took clones and all have roots, running out of veg space fast but there is always a way. Already setup for a lekker outdoor season with soil cooking and clones ready to go outside. Some leka forest leaves and wood to boost the microbes, enjoying AACT when turning.
  11. Welcome.. Here I will share my current flowering plants. They are local genetics except one: 1 x Choc Kush ( Totemic) 1 x Double stuffed sherbert (garden route genetics) 1 x KB7 (garden route genetics) 1 x Sherb breathe ( garden route genetics) 1 x Jacob's Ladder ( round table genetics) They have been in veg for a while and finally have space for the to flower. Jacob's Ladder below first time doing a scrog, will see how this play out. Setup is in the garage with a hill billy dang thang going on, size is 1.4 x 1.2 and running 3 x 400W HPS lights. Took clones from all the plants, and did not have space for the other 3 that was planned to move in together. They back in the veg appt doing their thing.
  12. cool beans bro, do update when you have the light sorted.
  13. @DamDave yo man you can definitely use that HPS bulb for flowering, does it have the ballast? Im currently using those for my setup in the garage and im happy with the results.
  14. Such bad news, Hope Myrtle is doing okay. Truely best people we had fighting for us all.
  15. This lady was harvested, total dry bud was 128grams. Nice mature cheese smell. This was one of the side branches. I will definitly do another grow with this method, the buckets are sets up and taking nutrients from them every 2 weeks.
  16. @Kiteloop Yo man what did you decide on doing? Upgrading my space on the garage and looking into some of these ideas
  17. Awesome build there brother. Have a look at one of the dairies called teas,teas... by Crex, really loaded with information and recipes for some lekker AACT. This stuff is great and do wonders to the plants.
  18. ahoi brother, sorry to hear about that blue dream. Yea it really sucks when all looks good before flowering starts and then it just does not add up. That blue dream looked mighty fine before flowering but looks very airy at 6 weeks. So it could only be weak genetics causing this? Have run the blue dream outdoors? I dumped my soil from my previous indoor grow into some tyres in the garden and just for fun dropped an Auto Northen Lights in there, and wow covered in thricomes and smell of lavernder, might just be the pheno but best out of all 5 in the pack. Do you always re use your soil? I have since started to re-use my soil and have my next run mixed with new and used soil.
  19. How did this grow end up? You managed to get a decent smoke?
  20. Sup Guys, how's the planing going for the next indoor growoff? Anything planned for the near future? I also support a buy-in idea with participants paying a fee to enter the competition and to be able to get the seeds for the comp. I personally found the forum thanks to the growoff poster that I saw on Facebook. Maybe we could do a competition between members on the forum more like a "forum only" growoff with the more experienced growers. Then we can do an open growoff for amateurs with some advertisement before hand to draw some more people to the forum if we want to grow the forum? But I guess then we still have the issue of them not posting or keeping their dairies updated. Maybe a minimum like R100 to enter the amateur competition with prices going to the best dairies with forum members voting. Let's say the top 5 dairies get 50% off to enter the next "forum only growoff" and completed dairies have the option to join the "forum only growoff". I don't think I saw any Solo cup challenge on the forum, maybe a solo cup growoff can be fun.
