Hahaha, I had the exact same issue! Started out with way more plants than I could flower as I used reg seeds. So also gave some plants away. Feminized seeds makes life much easier.

I had to google what that was, Fermented Plant Juices? How do you ensure you get the nitrogen high during veg and then the phosphate high during flower? Curious to see how that works out for you, please keep us posted!

@highchome I was actually meaning to post an update here. I have noticed that the 4 corners are not getting droplets on the stems and those cuttings were not looking happy so I get rid of them. The rest are looking amazing! Even praying. I am not sure when a bendable diffuser is or how it differs to an air stone so cannot comment there. I am happpy with the airpump, it has 2 settings BTW and you can switch between then on the side, so perhaps yours was set to the lower setting? It's really cheap, If you could get 3 airstones I reckon the corners would be sorted but I don't need to take this many cuttings so will just keep the 4 corners unoccupied. I also got some rooting hormone powder today, going to try the powder over the gel next time. My current clones do not have any rooting hormone.

Indica‘s and hybrids in Joburgs climate.
PsyCLown replied to MissMayhem's question in General Questions & Answers
I do not think you will have any issues growing the Indica strains, even outdoors in our summer. No different compared to a Sativa strain. I am not aware of Indica strains not growing nicely in warmer climates, what are your concerns? -
Day 64 / Day 12 of Flower Snapped a quick pic this morning, plants are looking good and recovering well from the defoliation. I had to raise 2 of the plants though. Was too lazy to remove it for the pic.

They're drying out quickly and weren't looking great but I watered them last night as well and they're looking happier today. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Tonight was the 4th STS spray. Still no signs of balls from what I can see. I should have marked a few branches and just sprayed / focused on those from the beginning. I have since marked 3 branches and will be spraying the main stem too. I'll continue to spray until I see balls or until I feel its really too late and nothing is happening. I need to mix another batch of Sts from my part a and part b solutions. Next spray will be Sunday. I'll probably mix the next batch then too. I may try add more soap as the solution does seem to roll off the plants quite easily. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

@CreX did some measurements on his 250W HPS and the actual draw from the wall was 650W - that is stupid. Let's say 1560w to run a 600W HPS. That is 1.56kw per hour. 12 hours a day brings us to 18.72Kwh 30 days a month ends up at 561.6kwh Let's work on a rough R2.20 per kwh, brings you to R1 235.52 per month. I wouldn't consider HPS, I love my LED's too much. The efficiency is tops and the lack of heat and the extra height you can gain etc. 480W of decent LED's would equal a 600W HPS give or take. Let's say you have an efficiency of around 95% I think that will work out to a draw of around 504W from the wall. The end result costs you R427.68 per month to run the LED's. It's really a very easy choice to make. In a few months you'd have made your money back on the LED's compared to the HPS.

Where did you get the accessories from and what else is available?

Nice! Are you / do you plan on giving nutes with the OM soil and your soil? Or are you hoping for them to be super soils and not require any additional nutes? I personally give nutes with my OM soil.

Oh, this is interesting. Ready to harvest after 40 days of flowering, that's 5 weeks basically. I run mine 18/6 as they're in my veg area.
-
Very nice! I like my Secret Jardin tent and would consider getting another Secret Jardin when I can get an additional tent.

Ok, so the trichomes take just as long to mature really. In essence, taking a photoperiod and vegging it for 4 weeks then flipping to flower could take the same amount of time as growing an auto?
-
Nobody? I know autos are not popular here, hoped for at least one reply.

They've got a lot of "ointments" on that list... I am disappointed to not see any Penis Enlargement creams. I wonder how many of those products are the exact same, with the exception of packaging / branding? I could be wrong though. These guys should not be around if they legally allow for competitors, open up a shop next to them and I am sure people will stop buying from them very quickly. Not hard to beat what they're doing. If I am going to be buying indoor, that is not what I expect. I expect something like this:

From my current experience, just because one plant is taking longer to finish than the other and you just so happened to top it, does not mean she finshed quicker due to the topping. I have had 1 out of my 2 Daquari Lime plants start showing pistils a good 2 or 3 weeks before the other plant, yet physical growth and size had been on par pretty much. There was a 3 day gap between the seeds germinating. So it could just be by chance.

Here is a video where you can see the droplets splashing out of the top. At the end I am showing where the water level is, it's just above that line. Around 5cm / 6cm from the top of the lid. https://imgur.com/4GGuZsh

I have heard the opposite, always best to LST auto's. The higher stress training methods can at times stunt the growth of autos - such as topping or fimming. Also best to try get the most out of the autos from the start as any time lost during veg, cannot be made up.

Have you ever tried to time it so that when you go into dark the soil is practically dry? Try get the bud to start drying a little before cutting it?

Hey all, So after speaking to some friends I was intrigued and decided to try and build a Bubble Cloner. I must give credit where credit is due and this mostly stemmed from @CreX I just purchased the stuff and put it together. Not a new concept or anything, however will be nice to have a reference on this website. What is a Bubble Cloner? A bubble cloner is where you have a tub with water and the clones are above the water, the stems never touch the water. You have an airstone (or a few) and the droplets from the bubbles popping spit small amounts of water into the stems of the cuttings. So fairly simple, I found a suitable tub. I did not want the water to be too deep so found something I felt was suitable. It's a 20L tub. Nothing fancy, best to try avoid something where light may leak through as roots are not the biggest fans of light. So best to avoid something transparent. I did not have proper equipment when doing the holes as I was not at my house, so made do to measure as the first few holes were not very straight. Ended up using a cutting board and knife to make the lines / markings to try get some uniformity to the holes. I ended up making the holes with a 38mm hole saw. For the blue discs I used a pool noodle. A bread knife cuts through it easily. I then took a 44mm hole saw and pressed down on it to create some marks and cut them out with scissors - very easy. In terms of light leaks I feel its sufficient. I ran out of pool noodle as I just cut a piece to take with me. I drilled two small holes on the side near the top to fir the tubes for the air through and then there were bubbles! As you can see I used two airstones, bubbles are important! You want to see the bubbles travelling to the corners of the container. I personally used these Tetra airstones, others will work well too. I used a Sobo SB9905 airpump which is dual output at 2x 5.5L/ min apparently and only uses 4.2W I had to clean up my flowering plants so decided to fill up the bubble cloner and test it out. So far this beats using jiffy pellets or soil. As per @CreX's recommendation I am trying to keep things simple, he likes to harden them off for 12 - 24 hours (at most) in plain tap water, so as you take the cutting place it into tap water and ensure the stem is submerged in the water. No humidity dome, just plain tap water with the chlorine and all. You can add rooting hormone on the stems, but not essential. After hardening them off, transfer the cuttings to the bubble cloner which is filled with tap water once again. Straight from the tap with good old chlorine! I put them into my veg area, I am trying without rooting hormone, no kelpak, nutrients, humidity dome. Nothing at all. So far all clones are still looking good. You obviously do not have to do it the same way, I may give it a try later on with a few additives. Perhaps some Trich and/or Kelpak although @CreX has not had as much success when doing so and finds that the stems tend to rot / go soggy more often then. He suspects the chlorine helps to prevent this. Next time I will most likely use rooting hormone as well, I have a gel. The powder may get rinsed off quickly though, probably the gel too. Anyways, hope this helps some people out, so far all is going well and I much prefer this method. I will report back in a few days / weeks giving an update on the rooting. I do not need this many clones, so just doing it to test things out and will be happy to trade them or perhaps toss them. All in all this costs under R500, I know I could have gotten my stuff cheaper from other shops, but I did not feel like driving all over the place. Realistically you could probably have this built for under R300 if you source well priced parts, an added benefit is you will then have an air pump and air stones to make a nice AACT for your plants too!

It just seems to get worse. I feel the guys doing it without a physical store and without a traditional healers license have more morals than these guys and chances are their product is better and their stock levels are better too!

That is it, just the moisture from the plants and soil. Obviously goes up after feeding day. Don't really want to remove the carbon filter due to the smell, so bit of a tricky situation. No space for a dehumidifier either.
-
So no lights? Then you will harvest after how long? 72 hours? Have you stopped giving water to let the soil dry out completely too?
-
May be time to repot as well. Do you ever flush? If not, could very likely be salt build up. Need to flush your soil more often when using inorganic nutes due to the salt build up. Perhaps give that a try and monitor it then.

My fan has 6 speed settings, although RH is becoming an issue so I have been pushing the speed up a bit to try combat that but the carbon filter seems to prevent a lot of the water from being removed easily. I was thinking of getting some metal alu strips, although did not want to struggle cutting them with a hack saw so decided to try the PVC. Already have it, so will purchase some cement to fill them and hope that will work. I'd like to find an easier way to remove the one pole in the front so I can easily remove my plants when need be, cable ties are a bit of a mission not sure velcro will be strong enough either.
