You basically keep bending the branches under the scrog net to try create a flat canopy and once it is even and full you can then let it grow. It can be a method to help create a flat canopy to maximize your space and light. Anything beneath the net would generally get cut / pruned as well. It won't get much light and can help increase airflow by doing so. Also forces the plant to spend more energy on the growth above the net.

I'm thinking of getting some cement to fill the tubes. Hopefully that should prevent it from bending, I noticed its starting to bend already. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Day 61 / Day 9 of Flower So I reinforced my tent a bit, not fully done but its something for now. It's helping with the negative pressure and the sides getting sucked into the plants. I did another heavy lollipop / defoliation on the plants, will leave them for now to recover and continue their journey, I should have taken a pic before. I only have a pic I took on the 8th unfortunately. On 8 August: Today: Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

The ballast is capable of 60w, not sure whether that means the light will actually pull a full 60w though. It's a CFL. Should be good for cuttings / clones. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

I dunno, it's my first time growing autos. These are Dutch Passion, all 4 of them. The Daiquari Lime don't feel like the most stable considering the one had pistils 3 weeks in already (or around there) and the others not... Not even the other Daiquari Lime and only recently did it start showing pistils. So far it's been fun and I'm still learning, although currently I'd certainly grow autos again... Maybe try a few other breeders. I did a bit of a clean up on them tonight and even did a little bit of LST on the one as I felt it needed it. I'm pushing a bit now to see whether the trimming is going to negatively affect the plant. Still no sign of balls unfortunately. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Which nutrients are you using and how much? Is it not maybe nute burn? Do you pH your water / feeds? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Looks like a female from what I can see. Congrats! Certainly give the scrog net and flattening the canopy a try the next time if you're not keen this time around. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Flip them already? They look tiny still, how old are they? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Yea, I sourced both chemicals locally. Was not difficult at all, nothing special required to get them etc. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

I use one of these: https://www.takealot.com/goldair-fan-heater-upright-white/PLID38673379 More powerful, has a built in thermostat and it's relatively cheap. Just unscrew it and cut the LED to not disturb your grow. Works really well, I place it behind one of my oscillating fans to get a more even heat in the grow area.

I wouldn't use this. Make life easier for yourself, get some BioBizz Grow or Fish Mix for veg and then BioBizz Bloom for flowering. Works alright and is easy to use. It's tried and tested.

I like the DIY. Are you going to bend the plants through the net to try get a flat canopy?

Think of it more as extra soil. [emoji14] Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Pest Control and Biological ways to control them.
PsyCLown replied to greenkush's topic in Pest Control
The fungus gnats lay their eggs in the soil and then the larvae eat the roots of your plants. Margaret Roberts has a mosquito pesticide, it's nematodes. Try some of that in your soil to eat the larvea and then the predatory mites sounds good. Otherwise try Neem or Pyrol instead of the mites - but might I think may be better. Gotta spread them all over the plant as they're a little lazy. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk -
Welcome, Pitty about the timer. That's a shit one. Although you did not check for a week? Damn! I take a look at least once a day, at worst and if I'm not home I look on the 2nd day. Good luck with your next grow, looks as if you'd have had a nice harvest if the timer hadn't broken. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

So I finally did the STS spray tonight. The autos are growing nicely. I will do some trimming tomorrow and neaten them up, expose bud sites to more light. Hopefully I get balls soon... I'm getting impatient and wondering whether I somehow messed up the solution... Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

I'm joking, I do like me some rock though.. not really metal. Some older stuff like Pink Floyd, Cream, Dire Straits, some newer stuff like Korn, Slipknot, Alesana and then some more indie stuff like Glass Animals, The Killers, Kings of Leon and a bit of local stuff like The December Streets and The Graeme Watkins Project. You'll also find some classical music in my playlists, some jazz like Diana Krall. Various electronic genres and I am ashamed to admit, a few commercial songs... like radio music... But not that newer radio music shit like umm... post malone and shit like that. bleh.

Yeah man, I love me some rock... you know, with the drums ... and some bass. Drum and Bass, right?

Looking good, let us know how it smokes. Got any pics of the grow and what strain / seeds did you use?
-
These auto's area already around 5 / 6 weeks old, I am hoping the seeds mature before the plants die. Will try keep them alive for as long as possible, just the one Daquari Lime which is very eager to star flowering and has lots of pistils already. My goal isn't to get bud from these plants, it's to get viable seeds. Although some bud would be nice.

STS is Silver Thiosulphate Solution. It s a mixture of Silver Nitrate and Sodium Thiosulfate. The Silver Nitrate is expensive, over R500 for 25g. However it lasts long as you use 0.5g to make a 500ml solution which is then further diluted to form the STS.
