  1. It's best used from seed as less I then required. Nice to get the mycorrhizal started as soon as possible. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  2. So I did another spray of STS on Mo nday, and then took some pics yesterday. Will do my next spray on Friday / Saturday.
  3. Welcome back! Totally understandable and given the circumstances nobody can expect you to neglect your family.
  4. It could be poor genetics / unstable genetics leading to the deformed leaves. I also have some DP Auto Euforia, have not tried to grow any out yet though. So you want to add companion plants into the same pot? Are you using any mycorrhizal fungi or trichoderma?
  5. What's wrong with the Euforia autos and what do you mean by the "competition"? Also use a loupe or scope to check the Trichome for when to harvest. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  6. Welcome and enjoy your stay!

    LIGHT BURN?

So that was then due to nute burn / toxicity and not light burn. Glad you found the issue. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  8. Yea, if going for CFLs then you'd probably need the larger ones for anything larger than a seedling. With CFLs, multiple smaller ones are not equivalent to a single larger one. For larger plants, I agree that QB's or COB are awesome, but the LED tubes aren't too pricey and. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  9. Your thoughts on those CFLs vs the LED tubes? Neither are ideal for anything larger than a seedling I'd imagine. The LED's won't require a ballast and starter though. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  10. Day 46 Plants are doing well, I am intrigued by the way the CBD Critical Mass is growing still, quite different compared to the others and looks a bit different too - not in a bad way, just different. I have not flipped to flower yet, will be doing so soon though, I am getting impatient. I need to make sure my current clones get rooted first and then I need to take some more clones and then I can flip. The bagseed has stayed very short compared to the other plants, despite being older. They're all in the same environment. I like the way the canopy has formed on the bagseed. The GDP #2 is not in the tent, it's in the veg room. It seems to have gotten stunted after repotting - perhaps I fucked up with it. GDP #1 is not showing it's sex yet, although is not stunted. So if GDP #1 is a female then I will continue with that and cull or give away GDP #2. I have stopped the LST with GDP#2 until I get confirmation of sex. Perhaps it seems silly to get rid of a GDP when I have a bagseed going, but I feel I have committed soo much time and effort into the bagseed that I may as well flower it and see what it yields, I have not taken any clones of it so have no way of ever growing it again and obviously no way of knowing what it is. The mystery is rather exciting to a point, not something I'll do again in a hurry - if ever again.
  11. So a quick update, the plants are looking much better now! Charlottes Angel #2 has recovered nicely. I have deiced to continue with the LST on the Daquari Lime #1 and it's responding very well and I like the growth it's showing. The Daquari Lime is growing very differently compared to the Charlottes Angel which appears to be bushier and not wanting to grow as tall. Both strains are meant to be Sativa dominant. The next spray will happen on Monday evening if all goes to plan.
  12. Hey all, I've got a question regarding auto flowers, something I've been wondering about. Autoflowers are often advertised as seed to harvest in 12 weeks (3 months). Although with photoperiod plants, when you flip to flower you normally have to flower for 8 to 12 weeks and you use the colour of the trichomes to tell when the plant is ready. Now I believe autoflowers also change to amber but does the change in trichome colour happen quicker with autos? Hlor how is it possible to harvest within 3 months? For example let's say a photoperiods trichomes turn from clear to milky after 7 weeks of flowering. Would an autoflower turn from clear to milky after say 3 weeks? I know it can be strain specific, but let's say its the same strain which was bred with ruderalis to make it an auto. Does the extra hours of light which autos get help speed up the process or what's the story? How does it work? I've been pondering this particularly for my project where I'm spraying some autos with STS to reverse them and get seeds, but also just in general. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  13. So a taller / bigger plant does not equal higher yield? A bushier plant which is flatter could yield more as it will be able to get more light overall? Basically it can have a wider canopy to absorb more light? Being flatter will help keep the light output equal between the entire plant as opposed to just the main cola?
  14. Hey all, So @Master_G and I were talking last night and he likes to raise his LED's very high to get his plants to stretch a bit. I have been keeping my LED's lower and in turn keeping the plants a bit bushier and shorter. Now, by letting the plants stretch a bit more you end up with a plant which is a bit bigger, if both plants are given the same amount veg time etc. How would this affect the yield of the plants though? Would getting a bit of stretch be recommended as the extra size from the plant will most likely lead to bigger yields or will the yields likely be similar? He also does not do any training where I am trying some LST, so that affects plant size too. I guess what I am getting at is, if you have two clones of the same size and you put them both under the same LED light - but the lights are at different heights. Therefore causing the one plant to stretch a bit more, everything else done the exact same which is more likely to yield more?
  15. Yeah, extra light def affects the way a plant stretches. Turn up the power and you gotta move them higher obviously, but if you keep your lights at a certain distance it almost forces the plant to stay bushier. At least that's what's happened with my plants, not a bad thing but can be a bit tricky when working with them at times. Noted on the milk and peroxide, I must be careful with my secret jardin tent then too. Does your extraction run 24/7 or does it turn off with the lights? I keep mine running 24/7 and haven't really had issues with RH much.
  16. Looks like you added a 2nd net, also lots of condensation inside the tent? I assume it's super cold outside and much warmer in the tent? Looking good though! Also how are your clones? Next time consider removing more leaves maybe, might help encourage it to root quicker.
  17. In other words save that money and get something better. There are cheaper lights which will work for clones, if yiu need something for clones that is. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  18. I have 6x QB 288 v2's (the chinese clones of the HLG's) and they are great! Plenty of power, I do not run them at their max capacity though, no need to and they are more efficient when run at lower power. I have also not heard great things about Hydro Herb, heard of more than one forum member having issues with them - not to mention the original HLG products are not cheap.

    LIGHT BURN?

Isn't that due to toxicity / nute burn? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  20. Spray the diluated serum to combat Powdery Mildew or use fresh diluated milk for that rather?
  21. Especially people in certain positions where them having a criminal record will ruin their career. Such as someone who works in law (lawyer) or finances (CFA or even a CA).
  22. So I stumbled upon this: https://permies.com/t/54482/Homemade-Lactobacillus-Serum I am sorry but that does not sound safe to eat. Still curious to try it, although would need to find a one way valve to make some. I'll feed it to my plants but that is it.
  23. @CreX by the sounds of things, we may start seeing milk being added to nutrients going forward. haha I am tempted to try add a bit of milk to my mix with the next feed, although it may react completely differently in soil.
  24. If you speak to people buying indoor, I feel most would agree that R100/g is not a bad price. I personally know of friends and other people who pay more than R100/g when purchasing their weed and they are very happy to do so, I don't agree with it and have never paid R180/g for indoor. For me it's hard to justify, hence why I am growing. These friends on the other hand are happy to do so, I even know a girl who pays around R250 for "hydro". She only smokes hydro and sativa's. At the same time I know of people who buy cheap weed, like R15/g upto R30/g. It's not the best stuff obviously but it gets them stoned and they're happy as they cannot afford the better stuff. Some of the stuff around the R25 - R30/g has been pretty decent too on occasion. Some people are happy to spend high amounts of money on certain things, which mean something or have high importance to them while others wouldn't. A few good examples are: Computers Cellphones Cars Clothing Common items which are used every day. For some spending under R10k on a laptop / computer is a lot, for others that's considered cheap. For others who are "enthusiasts" or gamers, dropping R40k is easy and you can even spend more. Cellphones, I don't even feel I need to explain here but a new iPhone and the latest Samsung flagship are around the R20k mark I believe, thats a lot of money for a phone. I personally spent waaay less and am perfectly happy with my phone and I know of people who spend even less on their phones. My sister's phone cost jsut over R2k, a tenth of the latest flagship and she's super happy with it and it works great for her and her needs. Cars, they all kinda do the same things and get you places but just look on the roads and you quickly notice the contrast in priceing on cars. The luxury cars are common on the road (Audi, BMW, Merc) and they have an average price of R550k+ and then you look at the more expensive cars such as your Land Rovers, Jaguars, Jeeps, Porches and more expensive luxury cars (S3, RS3, AMG, M3, M4, Evoque) and these are all cars I see on a regular basis. Dare I say at least once a week. At the same time the road is filled with cheaper cars too, like your Kia's and Hyundai's from the low end i10 and Picanto to some of the pricier models. Clothing. You get people spending R500 on a Levi T-shirt, you get people spending R200 on a woolworths T-shrit and people spending R100 or less on a Mr Price / Jet T-shirt. Some people insist on branded clothing while others would rather buy what they like and feel is good quality and some people don't care and just need something so they are not naked in public. We can even bring food into the mix, buying your kellogs cereal vs the cheap Pick n Pay brand. The Checkers branded biscuits vs the bakers biscuits. Heck 1 ply vs 2 ply toilet paper. People consider certain things more important and therefore will rather spend more money on somethings than others. People also earn differently.
  25. I completely get what you're saying, although once again not everybody wants to put in the time and effort or has the space. Take a business man who is constantly traveling and only home 3 nights a week as an example, or a single mom with 2 kids. In terms of value for money, it was worked out to around R100/g and that is not a bad price for indoor when others are selling indoor for R150+ and then selling their "hydro" for R250+ per gram. If / when dispensaries come to be in SA, it's a similar concept but more choice and no waiting and prices will most likely be higher than R100/g for good quality indoor. Obviously we cannot comment on the quality of THC's bud yet, I'd hope for it to be decent though. Growing weed vs buying high quality weed, generally it will always be cheaper to grow it than to buy it otherwise why are people selling it so cheap in the first place? Painting a room yourself vs hiring someone to paint it for you. This concept often applies to a lot of DIY things and it's often quite a bit cheaper to do it yourself than to have someone else do it for you - it may be convenient for them to do it for you but it comes at a premium. Growing weed is no different. If I were to do what THC are doing, yes I would do it differently but right now with them starting out I totally understand where they are coming from with regards to their options and how they are doing things. I may not fully agree with them, but I do understand them.
