Once again it goes back to convenience. It's not a service for those who grow or want to grow. It's for the people who don't have space or time to grow or don't want the hassle of growing, they want the convenience of paying money and getting weed. All the worry of pests, pH, watering, load shedding etc. Etc. Is taken away from them and it seems a bit more safe than buying from some dealer - perhaps the person doesn't even have a dealer. Some granny who read cannabis can help her back pain and then heard about THC, it's a no brainer for her as she won't consider growing herself. Perhaps she's even in a wheel chair. I feel the idea is great, the execution and lack of transparency / info could be improved. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

I get why they want to flip to flower ASAP as a client isn't going to want to wait 4 or 5 months for some weed when they're paying each month. Who here would trust someone with 5 months of pay without receiving any weed, wait half a year for some weed. It's a bit much. Also if Yiu give members a chance to pick how long they want their plants to grow for, it becomes a nightmare to manage. Perhaps within time they might consider it if all goes well. Not to mention the longer you wait to harvest, the more that can go wrong. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

I was going to say a dog, my cats have not tried to eat any of my plants but the one dog chomped some of the leaves.

They started to look happier after their transplant and watering. Yesterday I noticed one of the Charlottes Angel plants (I think) had some pistils already - they were feminized seeds so it was expected but did not expect to see that on such a small plant. I then decided it may be a good idea to start training the plants so I bent them over and used some metal hooks to keep them down. Today I noticed that two of the 4 plants responded very well, the 3rd was making do and the 4th did not look good or happy... I hope it does not die. It's one of my Charlottes Angel plants and those seeds were not cheap. I proceeded to mix the STS solution and then picked two plants to spray, I decided to go with both of the #2 plants. This included the sad looking Charlottes Angel, I figured I just need to keep it alive long enough to give me pollen and that I'd rather use the stronger plant to take the pollen and make me some seeds!! I took the picture after spraying them with some STS, so now we wait to see what happens. I will continue to spray the plants with the STS solution every 5 days until there are some big balls. These are also my first autoflowers I am attempting to grow, so hopefully I get the timing right. The next STS spray will be on Monday evening, I will time it better on Monday - do it around 30 minutes before the lights go off in the grow area.

I then decided I should probably move them to larger pots, now that I have a bit of extra space in my veg tent. So on the 21st I decided to repot them into their final fabric pots of 20L - as I started doing so I realized I had fucked up as the root ball had not developed properly to removing them from the pots was extremely difficult. I also neglected them a bit before re-potting as I just did not have time, so and they were very dry and unhappy. Next time I will rather put the auto's straight into their final fabric pots. I could not do this from the start due to a lack of space.

On the 2nd of June this is what I got! I had an issue with the 1 Daquari Lime seed, it just did not want to germinate. So I quickly reached for the last seed from the seedpack, soaked it and waited for it to germinate. I had the soil prepped for Daquari Lime #2, but there was no seed nor seedling inside the pot at this point in time. Fortunately the 3rd and final seed germinated and did so quickly. I recall having an issue when I planted it after it sprouted, two days went by and it did not surface yet, so I went digging for it and it was trying to grow sideways. I suspect I had planted it too deep. I also snapped a pic of the Charlottes Angel plants a bit later, on the 13th. I did not take any pics of the Daquari Lime's unfortunately.

Hey all, So when I first purchased seeds it sounded like a good idea to purchase some autoflowers - after learning a bit more, it wasn't the smartest idea but the autoflower seeds had been purchased. Since autoflowers are pointless to clone, I figured let me grow some out to get seeds from and perhaps use the autoflowers as fillers for my photoperiod grows. This journey started on the 29th June if I recall properly. I decided to start with the Dutch Passion CBD Auto Charlottes Angel , this strain has less than 1% THC and upto 15% CBD. Probably going to be the perfect strain for those who want the CBD without the high of the THC. I then decided to pop some Dutch Passion Auto Daquari Lime seeds as well, I think this was a day or two later. The pictures are of the Charlottes Angel seeds

So I trimmed the 3 plants in front, defoliated and cleaned them up quite a bit. Another Bruce Banner plant started showing it sex (the one to the left in the picture), it was a female and a bit larger so I did some LST again as I had left it to do it's own thing for a bit and then swapped it out in my tent. The smaller (to the right in the picture) Bruce Banner will be going to another forum member as he has the space to grow it out, unlike me. I also noticed that the smaller Bruce Banner wasn't too happy with the previous feed, nutes were a bit too strong so I will ease up on the nutes for the next feed and then after that I will probably do a flush before flipping to flower. I much prefer the Plant Matter fabric pots (lighter colour) over the Grow Guru fabric pots (black). Their sizing is a bit more convenient, not as wide but a bit taller.

Some of these perhaps for clones and even a bonsai mother plant: https://www.digikey.com/catalog/en/partgroup/influx-linear/59956 Put it on some aluminium u-channels or something similar, even a 3mm sheet perhaps and run them at lower power. You can upscale it for a bigger grow too - use some larger strips and just add more strips. Alternatively you can consider purchasing some Chinese quantum boards or getting some local ones if the importing is a mission for you.
-
It would be overkill, a mother plant (bonsai) and some clones you could use a few LED strips.

Day 43 Sorry for the lack of update, I have since moved 6 of the plants to the tent for flowering, I culled 3 male plants and have 3 more plants which I am waiting for their sex to show. I also did an inoculation of some trichoderma, some BioInsek (fungus which works as a pesticide) and such. I also upped the feeding to 4ml/L and plants seem to have handled it pretty well and at this stage am looking at flipping over to flower within the next 2 weeks or so. The pictures were taken yesterday, I will try take some more pics tonight and add them as well. So far all is going well! The training has really helped keep my plants short, so space is currently not an issue at all.

I just edited my first post with a bit more info.

I personally wouldn't use CFL's for more than clones / seedlings. CFL's are very inefficient for the power they consume. Even then I'd rather look at those LED tubes you get at Makro and other shops - something like this for clones / seedlings: https://lumenpower.co.za/2ft-st8v-0-6m-8w-830-warm-white-230v-em-552677.html?cat=49877 I'd look at either LED's or HID, I prefer LED's so that would be my first choice.

Freedom Farms vs Organics Matter
PsyCLown replied to Zaskar09's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
I've been feeding with every watering, using BioBizz. I am not trying go for a "super soil" where I do not need to feed at all. So whether it is superior in that sense I cannot say. -
How to choose the Best LED Grow light for indoor growing
PsyCLown replied to GrowPackage's topic in LED Lighting
I do not feel you need at least 300W of LED lighting for a decent grow, also keep in mind that you generally do not run LED's at their max capacity. Also you do not need lenses, it does not always point to a higher quality product. It is also not uncommon to see passively cooled LED lights, generally going for an active cooling setup is cheaper as heatsinks can be costly and fans are cheap. My 2c- 3 replies

I wonder if it's linked to Green Thumb Hydro or not, common name so very likely it's not. Now the wait starts, sounds as if they dry and trim the bud for you too? So how long do you expect to wait until you receive your first harvest and do they ship it to you or do you collect it?

Freedom Farms vs Organics Matter
PsyCLown replied to Zaskar09's topic in Organic Growing - Growing in soil
@YourStonedBuddy I got some Freedom Farms soil and some Organics Matter and I personally prefer the Organics Matter soil over the Freedom Farms. The plants seem a bit happier and when I messed up the plants in the OM soil didn't seem to be affected as greatly. So I ended up purchasing quite a lot more of the Organics Matter soil. I still feed nutes though , BioBizz. One thing I did notice was the difference in colour between the FF & OM soil and the fact that the OM soil seemed to have a bit more perlite in it. -
Where does "The Green Thumb" come from? Curious to see how your experience is @NoStringsOnMe please keep us posted!

This is very true, regardless of race / colour - there is a massive amount of people moving overseas. I suspect it comes down to the uncertainty which we have locally and they feel there is more stability in other countries. I am very certain all of us wish the best for this beautiful country of ours and for things to just improve going forward.
-
If you're talking about overseas where it is legal, well, it is legal and therefore not an issue. If you're talking locally, I am not aware of any online bud shops. No clue how they do it.

Unlikely there would be subscribers on this forum as most members here would plan on growing themselves - the people who do not want to or cannot grow themselves will be more the target audience for The Haze Club.

The closest thing I've seen to that with my indoor grow is when I took the plants outside to repot and the one dog started chomping on my leaves. The BioNeem was not effective against this pest, perhaps due to the size of it. I didn't even bother going for the BioInsek. I knew I had to take further steps fast otherwise I may not have a plant at all, I used physical force - which was super effective. The pest was removed and my plant survived. P.S. I did not spray Neem on my dog, although the bottle states you can use it when washing your dog actually. I guess it may help with tics and fleas. Quite a sneaky caterpillar there!

I get what you're saying, I think most people think along the lines of that if the shit hits the fan you already need to have an "escape plan" or already be elsewhere. Majority of people do not have the luxury to literally pack up and move overseas overnight, immigration is a long process. You also get people who just complain and say they want to do something and move, although they never follow through or bother to look into it. A lot of people are not able to immigrate even if they wanted to, soo.

Trace amounts, will such low amounts even make a difference when further diluated and extracted? Also will the heat from the water be enough to decarb it and make it active? In other words, is it even worth while?

I have never sent weed via post, I do not think it is a great idea either especially considering I am not sure how legal it is. If you really have to, I'd consider the following to try be on the safe side. Last thing you want is a seized package and police rocking up at your place. 1. Vacuum pack it, then vacuum pack it again - do this as close to shipping as possible as the smell will start to permeate the packaging and will get worse with time. 2. Purchase some coffee beans and put the vacuum packed bud inside there - my thinking being to try and help mask the scent from any of the courier employees as once it has left your hands you have no control over the parcel. 3. Take the fastest shipping available, same day or overnight. The less time it spends with the couriers the safer IMO, also the smell will continue to permeate the vacuum packaging as time goes by. That is my 2c, it may be overkill and unnecessary though. If you really have a lot of excess, consider doing some extracts for him as well. Some dab for example.
