  1. Looks much better with the extra lighting. Did you purchase one or two of the boards Mr E had up for sale? Also how much power are you giving them and the height from the LED's to your plants?
  2. So was speaking to GK and I may even try growing some on Agar and then using that to inoculate the roots as opposed to growing it with millet in soil. I could then even try isolate to a specific "strain" which colonizes very fast and just keep that alive - but that is quite a bit of effort, so doubt I will go that route. I'll probably need to find my still air box if I go the agar route.
  3. So then if I want to keep some inoculant / spores for later, I can dry the roots out I guess? Although with fresh mycorrhizal, the mycelium is alive and will help colonize quicker I assume? Millet is found in bird seed? So I can just buy a bag of that instead of looking for some millet seeds, right?

    LIGHT BURN?

Geez, 1200W lights which are actually 240W. Massive difference. I don't run my QB's at max, although way higher than 25%. Running mine around 75%
  5. Day 33 I feel this is a bit boring as the pics are so similar, once I have culled the plants I think it will be a bit better as I will have fewer plants to update on and can start showing things in a bit more detail per plant. Having this amount of plants is quite a lot of work! I got my bigger LED driver on Thursday and got around to installing it earlier today, so my QB's are now being run at 333W, quite a bit more compared to the previous 180W. It was really needed as I repotted my plants on Saturday to their final 20L fabric pots and the extra space the pots take requires me to raise the lights to get a better spread, so the lights are still not being run at 100% which is 480W. I doubt I will run the lights at their full potential as there isn't much of a need for it. Probably 360 - 400W at most. I topped all the plants, with the exception of GDP #2 which is still very small and trimmed / pruned them and did some more LST. GDP #2 and GSC #3 were not repotted due to the fact that firstly I do not have more space for them if I put them into bigger pots and secondly GSC #3 is already in a slightly larger pot and GDP #2 is still on the small side and is doing fine in that pot for now. I really need the plants to start showing their sex as I need to cull some plants and reduce the amount I have. Most likely within the next 2 weeks and once that has happened I am thinking I will flip the plants into flower - will see how things go over the next 2 weeks although plants are growing pretty quickly now. I am feeding them at 2ml / L with BioBizz Fish Mix, stopped with the EM Pro as it's not really needed each watering. I used a bit of Cal Mag and Kelpak along the way too and have finally added some sort of extraction to my area as it was much needed due to the humidity being waaaay too high for too long and causing condensation running down the walls on a daily basis so that can only do the plants some good. I will most likely be connecting the fan to an RH probe with a relay to control the RH with the extraction fan and then connect my heater to the temp probe & relay as I feel it may work better than the built in thermostat in the heater itself. I am now using Organics Matter soil, I prefer it over the Freedom Farms soil and the plants I've had in the OM (Organics Matter) seemed happier too and less affected by the low PH I had been feeding them for a while. The fabric pots I got from Plant Matter are waaaay better than the ones from Grow Guru! Both in terms of quality and sizing, I wish I had not purchased the Grow Guru ones.
  6. Nice! What light(s) and nutrients are you using?

    LIGHT BURN?

I'm honestly not 100% sure, although 1.7EC seems high. How old are the plants? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  8. Very nice Timmah! They're looking good.

    LIGHT BURN?

The lower leaves also seem to have some discoloration at the tips, perhaps nute burn? How has your nute feeding been? What are you feeding them and what strength etc?
  10. A very good system to get around the law and be able to provide weed to those who do not want to grow or cannot grow. Pay money, get weed. Simple.
  11. So I am wondering whether anyone here has or does brew their own mycorrhizal fungi, how you go about it and so forth. I did a bit of a Google search and seems they say you inoculate a soil mixture with some silica sand and grow some stuff in there (quick growing, a few options listed) and then after 3 - 4 months cut the stuff which forces spores to be created and then pull out, cut the roots and use that. Although when we purchase mycorrhizal fungi it often comes with vermiculite or more commonly a type of pearlite if I am not mistaken? How does one get it in such a form?
  12. Very nice! Have you breed it for more seeds or carrying it on with clones?
  13. Not a high yield. Also autoflower aren't even going to be ready for harvest in 8 weeks, so I think we know what's really happening here. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  14. This all goes back to people being ignorant and misinformed. If you have 115g you are running an empire? Wowzer. They're making oil as well, we all know that as soon as you start doing extracts, the amount of flower needed increases significantly. Let's do some maths quickly. Let's say their harvest was a decent 20% in terms of THC, at 120g of dried flower you would get 24g of THC from the extraction, roughly. Significantly less all of a sudden. The problem is people do not understand this due to it being illegal and a taboo topic as well as all the bad media and negativity towards it previously. Change it from weed to alcohol and suddenly everyone understands and it makes sense. 1L of Stroh Rum vs 1L of beer are not the same thing, despite both being alcohol. The issue is the judge most likely does not understand either, most likely not a person with a strong background or understanding of science / chemistry.
  15. I had to Google what live resin was a week or two ago. I just assumed you could just fresh flower for pressing rosin, but thinking about it now, due to the water and such it may cause some unwanted stuff to end up in the resin. Live resin does sound very appealing as it helps keep more of the terpenes etc. Easier and quicker as it's harvest and then freeze. If you do the research, please report back. I'd like to avoid using solvents myself, so only done extractions with oil so far. Haven't given bho a try myself, only used dab from others who have made it. 16. Without a doubt, a very clever way. How it is advertised and how it actually works and what is actually done though are just speculation. Do they actually grow what you request them to or do they just grow plants and dish out the harvest as they see fit? If they grow your plant, do you provide seeds and nutes? What are the limits? Is it indoor? Outdoor? Hydro? Soil? Pots? What type of lighting? Any training? Seems much easier to just grow and then dish out some of the harvest to everyone. In essence, your legal "dealer" where you wonder what you're actually getting.
  17. If you want to press for rosin, just press the flower for rosin. Make sure you get a proper press though, they are not cheap and will cost you a couple of thousands. I personally prefer the idea of rosin over BHO, I'd love to get myself a Rosin press although due to the price it shall have to wait a while.
  18. https://businesstech.co.za/news/business/328397/this-new-sa-company-will-grow-your-weed-and-deliver-it-to-you-but-is-it-legal/ What are your thoughts? Still very vague and leaves me with lots of questions. I know some people will love the idea of this and others hate it. THC The High Co The Haze Club
  19. Yeah, I'd call that a Quantum Board. As you said, a PCB with multiple LED's on it basically. Interesting that they put the red diodes all in the centre and not spread out. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk
  20. Went for autos on your first grow, good luck Create another thread and post some pics of your babies! What do you mean by a QB style LED?
  21. I'm personally running the R2T QB288 v2 boards from Alibaba, love them and would happily purchase them again. There are a lot of over-rated LED lights out there, claiming that it is a 600W yet draws far less power from the wall. With the QB's you check the voltage and amps which are being sent to them and therefore you get an accurate and true watt value.
  22. Day 28 Grow is going well, I am making mistakes but learning from them and then just learning in general. I finally got some foldback clips so could start more LST. I have had some issues with my feeding / watering, I did not realize how low the PH was and that caused some of my plants to be a bit unhappy. EM Pro Soil lowers PH very quickly! This has been corrected and I will be PH correcting all feedings going forward, will be aiming for a PH of 6.0 I also noticed some pre-flowering sex pistils showing on my bagseed plant. It confused me at first. haha I trans-potted GSC #2 as she has been unhappy as she drinks too quickly and was seems to have outgrown the pot she was in, I made some instant-transplant pots and so far it seems to have worked very nicely. I guess only time will tell for sure. The 20L fabric pot is quite large, I have some of the Grow Guru ones but am expecting delivery of some Plant Matter fabric pots tomorrow and then want to try get some Bidim and make some square fabric pots to help save space. as the square pots are shaped better and with limited space make quite a difference, annoying nobody stocks square fabric pots locally. I am expecting the 480W LED driver to be ready for collection tomorrow, may only be able to collect on Thursday though - currently I am limited to 180W of power and with the more powerful LED driver I will be able to do the full 480W which the QB's are capable of. My tent is setup and ready, I will move the smaller LED driver and 2x QB288's into the tent for now and then later on may swap it around and use the tent for flowering and the room for veg / clones. I had to pop my 3rd Dauqiari Lime auto seed as the one did not germinate, the auto's are doing well although I may remove them from this thread and start a new thread relating to them as I have different plants for them...
  23. So will the Grow Report page be comparable to Grow Diaries ? If so, will non-members be able to view it as well such as how Grow Diaries works? If so, that is really awesome and I think will help bring more traffic to the site over time.
  24. I am curious to find out the same, I assume you would need solar panels and quite a few batteries and I know that batteries add up in price very quickly. 12v 100AH battery is around R2500 easily for one, a single battery being able to provide around 600W of power for 1 hour before it reaches its 50% discharged limit and one hour to drain a battery is quick so the overall battery life will be reduced. Add more batteries and this changes things a bit but increases the price significantly. Considering there is no sun during the night and if you need to run lights during the night then you would need to have power available for at least those let's say 8 hours or so. So a minimum of 8 batteries, if you want to run at higher voltages for increased efficiency you can double that to bump it up to 24v and it becomes 16 batteries with the same capacity. I do not know much about solar, although imagine it would need the power to be stored on batteries and then an inverter required to convert from DC to 220 - 240V AC. I have no clue about the price of solar panels and what would happen when it is over cast or rainy for a few days. Larger appliances which some may be running such as AC, dehumidifiers or heaters all use a lot more electricity too and are probably best run off the mains power and not solar / battery solution. On top of the batteries there would be the cost of the installation, inverters and most importantly solar panels. Curious to get some feedback from someone who knows about the costing of solar panels and such.
  25. Hmm I see, so in essence 13 hours of light per 24 hours. Curious as to how it is compared to the traditional 18 / 6.
