Very awesome, I love the new system. Curious as to how many points one requires for each level.

I believe these are pretty decent, a clone of the GHE nutes which was done by GT Hydro. May not be as accurate / consistent as GHE but for someone on a budget should be pretty awesome

Anyone have any experience with Hortimix powder
PsyCLown replied to Grow for the love's topic in Indoor Growing
I use the 3 part Flora series. I follow the chart on the bottle (hydro / coco, as I grow in coco). It has a chart for soil on the bottle, but never tried it. I will occasionally supplement with a few things or add a bit of my own concoctions but nute wise pretty much follow their chart and may taper down towards the end of flower due to the nute build up. If I water by hand, I mix enough for the watering. If I'm using my automatic watering, then I mix and keep it in the res with air stones and the plants get their nutes as required. When I tried Hortimix I kinda just did my own thing and used their chart as a rough guide. Used my EC pen to get more accurate dosing as well, it works and it's cheap... But it is a bit of a hassle to be honest. I'm happy to spend a bit more and use different nutes to make life easier. I'm using GHE now and don't see myself moving away anytime soon. It's effortless, just works and oh so easy to dose. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk -
The dry yield could be improved in such a space too, add another 240W QB and maybe tweak a few more things. Although far more easier to achieve in a larger space obviously.

I'd guess that is around 40g dry bud from those cups if lucky. I could be wrong though. First decide on your setup - what equipment you will be running. Once you have a setup, then you can try these various methods yourself and see what works best for you - we can advise and give input as to what may help you achieve your 800g yield but first you need to get your tent setup. Finding the right strain and the right phenotype is also very important, not all strains yield the same. Not all are on the same level when it comes to frost. Lots of variables and this is often an area which is neglected - good, quality genetics.

I have not tried this, heard of people doing 12 / 12 from seed, however I feel everything will need to be on point in order to get a good yield. One mistake and it's tickets to your yield.

@Wayne502 Welcome! Firstly, let's start using meters as we're in South Africa and it's just simpler that way. 1.2m x 1.2m tent, the height would typically be 2m but 6 feet works out to 1.8m? That extra 20cm makes a big difference if you want to run HID lights. For LED's not as much of an issue or concern. Lets first start with what you want to achieve and what you restrictions are. You want to try get a yield of 800g - many ways to achieve this. What is your restriction? Money for the initial setup? Space for tents / plants? What are you trying to achieve? 800g from the smallest space possible or can you consider a larger space to fit more plants? In a 1.2m x 1.2m tent, stick 2x 240W Quantum Boards inside for a total of 480W of LED power and you're good to go. With this lighting you should be able to achieve 600 to 800g dry, but other factors need to be taken into consideration. Environment, strain, plant size etc. etc. In terms of air circulation for inside the tent, a single 30cm box fan should suffice with the louvre turned on. Hang it from the top of the tent facing downwards. You can get away with a simple extraction fan to exhaust air out of the tent, dangle some ducting for passive airintake. 6" extraction fan is more than sufficient for such a space. You could likely get away with a 4" extraction fan if running LED's and no carbon filter. I would advise against HID's due to the heat, you want extra height as well and to keep everything cool is a mission and often leads to issues or one requiring to spend more money - especially in summer. Also the bulbs need to be replaced every now and then as well which is an additional cost.

Have you noticed any fungus gnats?
-
@The_StonedTrooper Interesting and did not actually know that. However I have noticed with both coco and soil, when potting up one does need to compact the sides a bit otherwise it does sink a bit after watering and can lead to water channels and the medium does not get fully saturated then. @CoolJ Is this happening to all your plants?

The original is still a banger of a track.

Great yield! Bud looks pretty good too Enjoy

Welcome! If you want to stick to hydro, might be worth investing in some nutes which are tried and tested for growing cannabis in hydro. GHE Tripart Nutriplex (I think Nutrigold now - from Greenthumb hydroponics) Hortimix (Cheap, but requires a bit more knowledge and equipment to get it dialed in and working well) Adding an airpump with an airstone will help as well and isn't too expensive. Soil and/or coco are good alternatives too.

Can anyone suggest cannabis stores in the Western Cape
PsyCLown replied to Mulius Jalema's topic in General Discussion
Not making excuses, although we do tend to get members asking where they can buy weed or people trying to sell weed on the forum. Strictly not allowed of course and such posts are removed immediately. Would help if the OP could give us some clarity on what specifically he is looking for though -
Very nice! Got the breeders of all the strains you got there? Were they all from seed or some from cuttings?

I want to see the sticky flowers...

If you want a grow store, Hydroponic are based in Cape Town and I think Futurama as well - they stock more than just grow equipment though. -
Really eager to see how the Twisted Helix turns out

Yeah, no space to grow autos. Was going to run them in my veg tent, but not going to anymore.

I'd say that's half a gram per L. They should not have used fractions. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Hey all, So I have some seeds I am unlikely to ever grow either due to time, space or just because the strain no longer interests me. So instead of have them sitting around gathering dust, up for sale they go and hopefully it can help some fellow growers out. I am based in JHB, shipping can be arranged at your cost or you are welcome to collect. I have a few more I want to put up for sale, but haven't had a chance to take pictures just yet. 420 FastBuds Gelato (2x sealed single packs) - R125 each Ethos OG Kush Autoflower (2 seeds remaining) - R250 Ethos Plutocut R F3 Autoflower (2 seeds remaining) - R250 420 FastBuds LSD-25 (2 seeds remaining) - R250 SOLD Humboldt Seed Organization - Trainwreck (sealed pack of 5 regulars) - R350 SOLD

Most certainly is the bulb, 2 years is a long time for an HPS bulb. As @Pants said typically a bulb would be changed out after 12 months at the most. Another reason to consider LED.
